1st time here but definitely not the last. An extensive variety of meno choices including several gluten free options. Enjoy à la carte or price-fixed menus. Delicious and generous portions. Excellent and helpful service from Troy. A warm setting.

Ruvo is a fan favorite for me. The food is always so good!! Their burger is really amazing (this is the last thing I had from there so it's in the forefront) soups are great, apps, honestly name it and it is always on point. The drinks here are always good, especially Max the bartender is always offering new suggestions and a smile. Live music every Saturday from 7-11 is a nice addition also. Love this place!

We had a very nice dinner with a big party of 7 folks during LI Restaurant Week. It was the first time visiting this restaurant for me, but others in our party have been before. The restaurant is small and intimate. We were surprised that our reserved table was not ready on arrival, they needed about 20 more minutes, not a big deal given Restaurant Week. Our waitress was very pleasant and efficient, even though the dining room was packed. We ordered off the prix fixe restaurant week menu, as it just didn't make economical sense otherwise. Portions were huge, a surprise for a restaurant week menu. Lots of classic Italian dishes here, as well as a few with a more modern twist. I started with the "rice balls", and was served 3 large Arancini, all delicious. The Parm trio was enough food for two at least. Bring a big appetite when coming to Ruvo, I think you will enjoy

I went to Ruvo and had a great experience! I started with a short rib Mac and cheese. The short rib Mac and cheese was tasty but the cheese wasn't too noticeable. I went on to get a penne à la vodka. The penne à la vodkas pasta was very great but the sauce was too strong. For desert I got a cheesecake. The cheesecake was sweet and delicious and the cheese did not overpower the fruit sauce on the bottom. The ambiance of the restaurant was very rustic and old. The service was direct and professional while knowing the menus well. So overall, I recommend Ruvo.

I decided to check this place out because my parents recommended this, and it was definitely worth a try. You can order a three course meal: appetizer, entree, and dessert for $30-40. I came in a party of 3 so we ordered two sets and it was perfectly filling for us. The service was good and quick. Also, the ambiance is cozy and beautiful. There is a lot of. A lot of natural lighting coming from the windows. Big and small parties can sit at this restaurant. Food: Caesar salad (4/5): great! Made with real anchovies too Orzo and wild rice (5/5): crispy and tasty. The texture of fried orzo and rice is so good. Plus the sauce and cheese make it taste satisfying Flounder (4/5): great with lemon and it has a nice crust to it. I think the sauce is a tad bit salty but it's pretty good! Chicken cutlet parm (5/5): yummy sauce, LOTS of chicken included, and tons of veggies! Marscapone Cheesecake (4.5/5): the marscapone makes this dessert light but still delicious. I would ask to get it without the jam in the bottom--me and my friends didn't like it. Ice cream (5/5): they didn't specify the flavor in the menu but when it came out I was pleasantly surprised because I LOVE coffee ice cream. Overall, it's great but it's a bit pricey ($30-50 per person after tip). If you're in the area, you should try!

I came here for dinner for a work event and thoroughly enjoyed my time! We were seated in a private room that was intimate and perfect for a small group. Dinner started with mozzarella and calamari starters that were light and delicious. Oftentimes, calamari is fried without flavor, but this was seasoned perfectly. I chose the rigatoni with chicken for my entree and was happy with my choice. The portion size was large and I was super full by the end. The cheesecake dessert was the perfect way to end this wonderful meal. I will happily come back and try the rest of the menu!

Just had an amazing lunch at Ruvo. Their rice balls are to die for and I love their sauce. Service is always superior, today's server Max was great. My husband loved his penne vodka and I had the burger. Portions are huge and we had leftovers for home. A very cozy restaurant. Can't wait to return again!

Ruvo Port Jefferson, NY @ruvorestaurant Located in the heart of of Port Jefferson, Ruvo is serving up amazing Italian dishes that are sure to please. The inside is rustic and cozy, with plenty of natural lighting and open floor plan. They offer live music on the weekends that can be enjoyed whether you sit in the bar or formal dining area. The restaurant is ran by the four brothers of the DeNicola family, who are carrying on Classic Italian traditions. We absolutely loved everything about this spot! Our appetizers were amazing, especially their Maryland Crab Cakes and Mini Rice Balls. For our entrees we did some variations on their original dishes that the staff is happy to accommodate if you ask (why you see the * in the video. We loved the Pesto Gnocchi with added chicken cutlet (typically served with a beef, pork, and veal bolognese). Lindsey couldn't decide over the chicken or eggplant Parmesan so we got both on one plate! Our server Maxwell (who was excellent) was very nice about the chefs being open to variations, so don't be afraid to ask! Every dish that passed by us looked amazing and we are sure to be back to try some of the other menu items. We highly recommend this spot! We loved it here and we know you will too! Live music every Friday and Saturday night from 7-10 pm! Follow us on Instagram @drinklongislandny for full video and many more!

Absolutely love this place! I always have the best food no matter what I order. The downside is that you do need to make reservations if you want to have dinner, especially on the weekends. This place fills up fast. If you are not interested in dining at a table, you can sit at the bar and order food too. But, it's a bit difficult to find available seating. Ambiance is slightly fancy. No need for gala dresses, but there are white table clothes. Perfect for date night!

We've always been fans of Ruvo's in Port Jefferson. Since its renovations a few years back, it much brighter and even more welcoming. The old church pew benches give it an old charm nostalgic feel. Note: If you're by the window bench seating you might feel a slight draft in the colder months. Today we chose to have lunch in honor of a birthday. There is a prixe fixed lunch menu that does change seasonally. You get your choice of an appetizer and an entree. It's a great menu but you are always welcome to order off the regular menu if nothing peaks your fancy. In our party of five of five, we all opted for different items on the lunch menu. As we waited, we were given warm bread seasoned with rosemary for dipping in olive oil. Mmmmm, the bread is amazing! See my pics for how our lunch appetizers and entrees came out from the kitchen. Nice portion sizes that won't disappoint. Everything was very well presented and delicious with one hiccup. My hubby had asked for a medium rare burger but it came out very well done; the waitress offered to fix it but that would have put him well behind all of us with our meals hot in front of us. Overall, it was very nice visit and we'll most certainly be back. We just won't order the burger. Stop in and you'll be happy you did.

From the service to the food, this place never disappoints. Their salads are delicious and can be shared. While it's a little on the pricier side, the main dish portions are usually so big you'll get several meals out of one. They come up with some great cocktail creations, and the main seating area and bar are both super cozy spots for a nice dinner or just some drinks. Staff is always friendly, professional and helpful. Reservations recommended, it's a popular spot!

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. There's a small lot that's free and you can park on Jennings. (sorry residents). We went on NYE so had to park several blocks away. No biggie. The inside is dark and cool with a city-vibe. Ample bar space and 1-4 tops an some banquet seating that lets you look out over the street. We were greeted right away by what turned out to be our server and seated promptly by the windows (we had a reservation). Also greeted by a gentleman that we think might have been her dad. The young lady hustled all night and managed the crowd well. We never waited too long for her to check in on us and she was very helpful with selecting wine and clarifying menu items. That being said, THIS IS A SMALL PLATES JOINT. People expecting full-sized portions should adjust their expectations accordingly. We did, however, order the Trastavere seafood platter (medium) which came as a tower and seemed impressive. Two types of oysters (large and medium) were presented; briny and fresh and pretty damned tasty. There was also a ceviche and tuna tartare that was, unfortunately, a bit unremarkable, as was the shrimp cocktail (though the shrimps were pretty hefty). The American "black caviar" was a nice way to commemorate the meal. Nutty with a pop of salinity but maybe something you can skip. We meant to order the Carne e Formaggi but got the Gamberetto instead which was fine as it was pretty tasty nonetheless (made with shrimp but it almost tasted like smoked salmon). Virgola Manhattan was good but pretty standard. Follow-up drink of dirty Manhattan was blissfully salty and cold. But back to the menu: we are unsure if they have an actual kitchen back there which would also explain the small plates concept and oyster and chilled fish options. The bruschetta was tasty, as mentioned, but it seems like they cut and toasted the bread and topped it with the crudo. The other bruschetta options featured ingredients from other menu items that could be re-purposed for multiple dishes. Smart but expect this. We plan on returning and trying the charcuterie board (mix and match cheeses and meats) and some cocktails. Overall, a nice night out and a nice option for dining and drinking around Patchogue. Cheers!
