We spent New Year's Eve at Beau's bar and saw 10 years gone Led Zeppelin cover band. As dead heads, we love the decor at Beaus great memories of great dead shows. Very disappointed not to have been thrilled with Beau's Bar, we have wanted to visit for some time & just as our luck would have it, our favorite Blues Band was playing at a great afternoon time that made this a win-win. The bar itself seems to be clean & incredibly well decorated with memorabilia, the concert tickets lining the bar were fun to reminisce to. The bar tender was wonderful..nice & attentive. Here lies the problems.. No where on the website or on the social media listings does it remind you that: 1-There is a cover charge for music (not a problem, this should be expected) 2-They only accept cash (of course there is an ATM, duh)(NYS should insist that if an establishment only accept cash, their ATM does not charge a fee) 3-No food (we figured this out by reading reviews, not a problem, eat 1st) 4-After all of this, it seems there is also a 2 drink pp min...also not a problem, but what was annoying is that a well drink is 13 dollars. A club soda 5 dollars, which was because it is one of the 2 drinks..ok, fair. But this is not NYC or a high end nightclub. This is what I expect at The Paramount or Jones Beach. Maybe others feel the same way ? we arrived after the band was already set up & ready to go and there was no one else in the bar..for quite some time after as well. Even as we were leaving 2 hours later, there were too few people there to appreciate this fabulous band. All in all we had an interesting experience, but all 4 agreed we would never return. read more

Unless you're a Dead-head you'd pass this bar right by. This bar is best described as a colorful piece of the band's memorabilia. Funny thing is I came to see a phenomenal guitarist, Andy Aledort and the Groove Kings. If you want to be blown away by incredible talent you MUST see this man and his friends. We walked into Beau's bar not knowing what to expect since this was our first time there. We were going there to see our favorite local bands, The Scofflaws. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by Beau himself. He genuinely made us feel welcome as he introduced himself as we ordered our first round of drinks. The space is fun, cool, and was a great setting for although we aren't Grateful Dead fans. We loved the lights, the DJ, and the music played between sets. The bathroom was clean and adequately stocked. The crowd was warm and welcoming too. The prices were reasonable and the pours were generous. It is a great space to catch a local band. Thanks to Beau and his staff for an unexpected great night! Surprising find and can't wait to go again! read more

The Pressure Cooker's were playing awesome live music, the bartender was great to my crew, and it's a fun little hole in the wall that's only flaw is less than stellar cell phone service ha! Beaus bar continues to have no consideration for people who have early work days. Sunday night 11:35pm and blaring music.

Always treated well here even though we only drop in about 12 times a year. Clean and friendly place. Friday afternoon mixologist sweet and outgoing. It's a neighborhood joint where "everybody knows your name" like cheers, they have bands on weekends too. Can't go wrong. Plenty of parking in the rear muni parking lot. I guess some on the bad reviews here are due to the elementary school recess of peeps popping in and not feeling the love like us more seasoned party animals. read more

I'll give two stars for the decorations. Seriously, this place is a sh#{%t show. The people working behind the bar were completely wasted. Couldn't figure out how to make change or take drink orders. The bartender was so wasted she took $50 for a cover charge and then proceeded to tell me that I gave her a $20. Then I turned my back for a second and someone took my drink. The band we went to see was good, but they were jammed into such a small place. I may give it one more chance, if I'm really desperate. read more

Beau's is a bar in my hometown of Greenlawn. It's a pretty simple,straightforward place. The drink prices are good, the clientele is cool, and there is a great jukebox to listen to great songs. Sometimes on the weekends, they have bands play live. The music is good and the crowd really is social and fun. Beau himself is a real character. He's a really funny and personable guy. I've had a few late,late,late nights there doing some shots with the man. There was at least one time I closed the place with Beau and somehow got home to tell the tale. I've always had a good time anytime I dropped by Beau's. One thing I wish they would try to do again would be to have a karaoke night. They did when Beau first took over the place a few years ago. There's nowhere close to home for karaoke. I tell Beau when I see him, but usually after a few drinks and shots and none of us remember. I live walking distance to Beau's Bar. So for me, it's a fun place to have fun, unwind, and kick back with a few enjoyable cocktails and not have to worry about getting home safely. Always a good time at Beau's Bar! To anyone who likes to visit bars, like me, be smart and do your part. Don't drink and drive. Ever. Let's all enjoy the nightlife and be good citizens! read more

Have to give one star to write a review. I am a business owner from Commack and my friend said to come to this establishment to see him and his coworker play in a band Dead Ahead on Saturday February 25th. I brought my girlfriend along and about 25 minutes after being there we were basically both assaulted by the nasty woman behind the bar. We weren't being rowdy or anything, we didn't even have drinks yet and we were just there with friends to see my friend play. She clearly doesn't know how to treat people correctly because she was demanding we give her money or leave. She made my girlfriend uncomfortable when she came around the bar into both of our faces, while we were trying to see what we should do, to inform us that she was just doing her job. Apparently being nasty and attempting to make scenes at a bar in front of everyone is a job requirement because that's all that it seemed like she was trying to accomplish. I was discussing with my girlfriend at the end of the bar what we should do, she felt uncomfortable and we were there to see my friend play so she said she would wait in the car and I would stay. This obviously isn't the outcome I wanted but we were already there and I thought he'd be on shortly. As I went to approach this woman to pay, without saying a word, she was already at the end of the bar telling me to leave. I told her in front of the whole bar that as a business owner myself this was no way to treat a potential customer and that she was very rude as I left. It wasn't about the money it was about this woman specifically and that is the sole reason I will never step foot in that place again. I run an operate a business and I have employees of my own. If I saw anyone treating potential customers the way my girlfriend and I were treated I would have to let them go immediately due to preservation of my reputation. Funny part is that about 6 of my friends and their parents were even there. I asked them afterwards if they had this experience or if they paid. None of them paid. Simply put, I was basically assaulted by their staff and treated unfairly for no reason at all. Don't go here unless you feel like being harassed by the short bartender woman with black curly hair. read more

So, i am all for a dive bar environment- especially one with live music. Im a huge deadhead and so i thought this place would be my home away from home since I just moved out here. I kid you not, i saw four cockroaches crawl around the bottles at the bar. I told the man behind the bar and he made some crass joke as if I was the problem. Went to this bar with my girlfriend on a Saturday night. There was no one at the door for ID/Cover Charges. Was in the middle of a conversation with a friend and was rudely interrupted by the curly dark haired bartender insisting my girlfriend and I show our IDs. She said that my girlfriend's ID didn't even look like her and that she would need 10$ from the both of us. I went to pay her and noticed I only had 10$ cash and my girlfriends money was in the car so I asked if I could pay the rest on a card. She told me that there was an ATM at one side or I could use the door on the other. I have never been so appalled in a bar before. I started heading toward the door because I had cash in the car and she followed me to tell me that she's on camera and that she is just doing her job in front of everyone at the bar. It honestly felt like she was trying to embarrass my girlfriend and I in public. Meanwhile I'm standing next to other people at the bar and my friends. Not to mention who already had drinks and weren't asked nor did they pay. At this point it was no longer about the $20, It was about how rude and mistreated I felt as a potential customer as this establishment. My girlfriend was uncomfortable so since we were there to see my friend play in his band she said she would just go wait in the car and I could stay. Although I didn't want her to leave I did want to stay and support my friend. About a minute later I went to approach the same woman but she was already at the end of the bar and before I could get my money out or say anything she told me that I had to leave. That was it, as I left, I told her that she was very rude and that this is no way to treat someone let alone a potential customer. I have my own business and if I ever had someone working for me that treated a potential customer the way this woman treated my girlfriend and I they would immediately be let go. read more

Went here for the first time on a whim because the name has to do with an inside joke between my girlfriend and I. A beer and makers mark cost us 43 bucks. There was a band playing and apparently you have to pay 10 at the bar. No sign upon entry of the place and no doorman. There's a small paper sign on the wall. Bartender made my girlfriend feel stupid when she said she wasn't aware of this and we wanted to just grab a drink and leave. Poured the drink and then just took her money first BEFORE informing her of this. I would have made a scene but I had to run to the bathroom when we walked in and wasn't aware of what went down. I am only giving one star because I have to to write this review . My boyfriend and I got to the bar and there was no one standing by the door checking ID's or asking for the cover (10/person when there's a band). My boyfriend and I were there a good 25 minutes and the bartender (curly dark haired lady) interrupted our conversation to ask for id. Neither of us ordered a drink or were planning on drinking. She then goes on to say that my id looks fake,( I am 30 years old with a new ny license) and she demanded $20 from us. We only had $10 in cash so we told her we would be right back. She said there was an ATM in the back or the door in the front. We were standing by the front door talking to friends deciding whether to stay or go ( we wanted to see the band) when she left the back of the bar to seek us out and demand the money yet again. She literally stood a foot away from my face asking when we were gonna pay because she was on camera ???? She wasn't asking any other patrons for money, just us. ( our friends DID NOT PAY THE $10 cover) I left , telling my bf he could stay and watch his friend play. He came outside not two minutes later saying that she demanded the money or he had to leave . ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? We are thirty years old, not drinking or being rowdy,just there to see a band and you kick us out ? I have never been so appalled by a bartender's behavior. I will never go back to this place again and I highly recommend you never go here. read more
