I went to Tap & Tapas on a friday night for dinner with a friend. It was pretty crowded when we arrived, and we didn't have a reservation, but were sat within minutes as a cozy table near the back. The food was SO delicious and I loved that they had 3 wines on tap. Our favorite dishes were the shrimp in garlic butter sauce, the hummus and the churros for dessert. The service was a little slow, but everything else was fantastic. Will definitely be going back!

I am so impressed. I live in NYC (from Northport) so I am able to get great food often. Long Island restaurants can be hit or miss with quality and service. This place gets everything right. They have a decent happy hour with food and drink. A great tapas menu and good wine/cocktail list. Try the white sangria. Our favorites were the chicken skewers, potato bravas, and beet salad. Shrimp and Pan Con Tomate were solid. Only complaint is the lamb was a bit dry. We sat outside and loved our experience. I hope this place lasts. It's perfect for Northport.

Found this gem on our way to the Northport Library for a talk. We had a little time so decided to try a few quick bites here. Fantastic cozy ambiance and terrific service! We tried the patatas bravas which were crispy on the outside and tender inside. This was my first tasting of Pimientos prepared this way and i am hooked! They were sweet yet once in a while you get one with just enough heat to spice up the experience. I have heard that it's good luck to get one with a bit of heat! The portions were generous and shareable, and well-presented. We had a mezcal ($18) that the bartender recommended and my friend said it was one of the best ones she has tasted yet. My other friend had a Sangria which was also tasty and a generous serving. He knew we were limited for time and made it work for us in a kind way. We'll be back!

Food and flavors were exceptional , drinks were also great . My favorite was the paella and the salad we got with burrata and pumpkin . Absolutely amazing . Will def be coming back . Only let down was some items were sold out on a Wednesday night , which is a little odd to me . Other than that service was good and the atmosphere seemed like everyone was enjoying their food .

Going out to dinner and not looking for a big meal in the Northport/ East Northport area, then Tap/Tapas is for you. A cocktail to start off your dining experience is the Peach Sangria light, tasty and refreshing. There's something for everyone ( vegan, gluten free, meat, fish). The place is perfect for a first date or a romantic dinner. You can enjoy the sidewalk experience or sit inside. Service was good but if you pay with cash you need to bring it to their attention because they give you the credit card price on the bill. It's only street parking. Ciao for Now.

These are empty plates because it was sooo delicious!!

I want to put 5 stars but I really wanted flan and tortilla Española and it was sold out. This however is to note that the food is phenomenal. Service is very good :) We have opted to come when the weather is a bit warmer like this late spring night in May and sat outside. Fresh mint growing in the front and lovely Spanish music playing the background. Also the Sangria is one of the best I've had in a while, The flan is superb!

Great place, excellent food, friendly service. Our first time there and it won't be the last. Listed pictures below.

Love this little place! They are just so lovely, accommodating, and obviously passionate about their food and culture. My friend & I ate here and shared several of the specials, the steak was excellent, cooked just right. The greens and other dishes had so many interesting taste combinations, we were delighted. Also, the sangria was excellent. Look, it's tapas. If you're a big guy looking for a lot of heavy food, don't come here. But if you like trying a bunch of smaller dishes, each one a taste sensation, then I urge you to check them out. They need more presence to draw attention to their location. If you're looking for quiet place, good food, cozy atmosphere with great music then this is it!

So I finally got back to try the food. I had visitors from out of town, San Francisco actually so they're tough to please and I wanted to impress, this is the place to do it. , We all love tapas and Tap and tapas is the highest rated restaurant for this on Long Island. Lucky for us I live nearby. They did not disappoint, the food, service, vibe was phenomenal. Top quality all the way my family was impressed and so was I and we will be back. Everybody enjoyed their wine while I opted for a guava margarita, which was delicious and refreshing, we ordered the salad with the burrata. It was delicious. We also got the chorizo which everybody thoroughly enjoyed. The pastas bravas were spicy crispy and delicious. We had to have the Iberico ham which was sweet and wonderful. I loved the sautéed greens with the garbanzo beans I could eat that every day. The chicken skewers were so juicy and deliciou, the best I've ever had on Long Island and we finished it up with the Badque cheesecake we really enjoyed our meal. can't wait to go back.

Second time is the charm. Went last Summer and food was good but service was terribly slow. However we were happy to give it a second try last night and the food, service and sangria were excellent. Recommend the watermelon salad and garlic shrimp. Check it out.

Excellent! First the ambience: nice tablecloths and coordinating napkins. Outdoor dining if you like. The service was excellent. Very attentive and explained everything. Now the food!!!! We ordered sangria: really liked it. We ordered olives, Manchego & Quince, Iberico Ham as first plates. Mmmmm. Then we had the Burrata with butternut squash. This was a delicious salad. With craisins and arugula. We also ordered the grilled short ribs with red pepper chimmichuri . OMG. Delicious. My husband had the 3 lamb meatballs. He loved them. A little spicy but delicious. I would have taken more photos but my phone die

The bar area is quite expansive and has a cozy feel, so I'm not sure why I didn't recognize the restaurant from my previous visit. Once seated, we were promptly approached by our server, who took our drink orders with promptness and friendliness. One thing that hasn't changed is the restaurant's lively atmosphere. Its noisy and can be difficult to hear each other, especially if you're sitting near a crowded table enjoying sangria. The lively ambiance is part of the experience, but it does make conversation a bit challenging. For our meal, I ordered the Lobster Meat & Shrimp in garlic sauce, which I found to be very flavorful. I truly felt like I was on vacation in the Dominican Republic. The food was even better than the ambiance. We really were sure what we wanted to order but after speaking with our waitress we both ordered Mama Fango stuffed with meat. This is a dish consisting of sweet plantains mashed, seasoned, and fried into a little bowl shape then stuffed with your meat of choice. I went with the white chicken. The flavors were complex and overall delicious. The white sauce is like an Alfredo with cilantro. It is a very filling dish and I ate every last bite. I loved this place, their food was fantastic and the quality was super consistent; an excellent spot to get together with friends or a date. So much attention to detail was paid, house made dressing, salsa, all ingredients were super fresh, the meats were always cooked excellently, and the staff was friendly. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a while but at some point in the last few years the Little Columbian restaurant became My little Columbian restaurant. My friends and I went there for dinner at the end of October, there was one couple that was leaving the restaurant but we were the only ones there when we first walked in. The vibe of the restaurant has changed because they changed how they decorated the interior of the restaurant. I prefer their older vibe but no big deal. Our waitress was nice and very attentive all night and the staff in general was quite friendly. Here's my issue, the food quality is not as good as it was in the past. And if they are going to charge along the same lines as what they have, always been on the pricier side, then the quality should still be at the same level. There were a bunch of little things that added up. To start, the salad I ordered didn't have the same quality of greens (I think they used a spring mix in the past), there were some small bits of core in the salad. More to my disappointment the Salad dressing was no longer the house dressing they used to make it was Ken's balsamic dressing, which generally tastes like diabetes syrup. Maybe it was an off night for the salad and I could live with that but the lack of the old house dressing was disappointing. Speaking of cutting corners, the chimichuri used to be super fresh and of good quality ingredients. The chimichuri this time around had a lower quality olive oil and the parsley was dried instead of fresh. My friend ordered some empanadas, which were partially burnt and again the slasa wasn't the same quality as they used to make with the empanadas. For an entree, I ordered Bandeja Columbiana. The chicharon was a bit overdone but ok enough. The chorizo was probably the best part but you have to try to mess up chorizo. The maduro was kind of dry and somewhat bland. The chicken was a touch rubbery and the steak was fine; nothing to write home about. As I had mentioned before the food wasn't terrible, it was fine enough but it was not worth the price it cost. Much worse is the fact that the quality in general just isn't the same as it had been prior, maybe they just had an off night but something tells me this is how it is now. It's too bad this restaurant isn't quite what it was; it used to be one of my favorites.

Update. We have been back numerous times, this time with cousins and their wives or a "plus one,"…read moreeight of us at a tight, rectangular table in the back. There are several hanging paintings on the walls, not worth a look, so you don't feel like you might be in Spain or Italy. Otherwise, it's a friendly, busy restaurant on weekend evenings, so reservations are recommended. Entrées, their starter salad ginger dressing and service are always good-very good. It's always either Spanish or Italian, so for example, you can order chicken parmigiana or variations of paella. This time I ordered Chicken Villaroy, which "is a classic French-origin dish featuring cooked chicken breasts (or croquettes) coated in a thick, cheese-infused béchamel sauce (Sauce Villeroy)." However, this one was served looking like two squared, lumpy, sautéed potato knishes, but tasted better than it looked. The inside was a very thick, well cooked chicken breast covered by a thin, light béchamel sauce and what seemed like plain, sautéed flour covering. The sauce made it slightly juicy, but not nearly juicy enough, and there was no thick, cheese infusion. My suggestion (for what it's worth ... and no offense intended to the Villaroys), is much more wet, cheesy infusion, along with perhaps a thick, panko crust covering thinner slices of chicken breast. They offered Sangria and Pinot Noir (tonight's table favorites), but not Chianti (my first choice) and you can skip most of their desserts. I was only able to finish one of the Chicken Villaroy croquettes and took the other one home for another day.
