Folks beware, there is nothing sweet about this Jane! The bartenders (if that's what we're calling them) moved with the quiet hostility of people who have abandoned empathy. I made eye contact with one and immediately felt like I had interrupted something deeply unpleasant. I ordered the house special. One sip in and I knew this was not a beverage. It tasted like a soggy shoebox dusted with expired glitter, with subtle undertones of something medically concerning. Before I could even put the glass down, my left ear began to vibrate like a shifting tectonic plate. I tried to stand up, but my legs had decided they were no longer on speaking terms with my torso. I eventually had to crawl out the establishment like a disgraced salamander. My skin still tastes like lead and the lights gave me a migraine in a color that doesn't exist. If it was something I didn't like, it was not because it wasn't good, but just because it was not my forte. Bob, Gabby, and the rest of the staff are extremely knowledgeable in mixology. Always there to answer questions. Always extremely attentive. My advice; step out of your comfort zone and try something new! This isn't a dive bar. It's a sophisticated, and gorgeous, take on a NYC cocktail bar. The food is incredible as well. Everything we've had just has been amazing. We continue to come here as much as we can. Came here with my husband for cocktails after our anniversary dinner and we loved it! We were able to grab two seats right and the bar and had great service. The cocktails options are SO GOOD and there's something for everybody. I love that they will also make you a bespoke cocktail which is a favorite option of mine. Our mixologist even gave us a special little drink for our anniversary which was so kind. We stayed for a few cocktails and it did not disappoint. Went here after date night (VPW) on a Saturday night. Almost walked past the place as signage was not too noticeable. Ambiance was dimly lit but a vibe. Music Playlist was groovy, grown, and sexy. Noticed a vesta board over the bar and was educated on what it was. Service was attentive, pleasant, and we had good conversation. Our server was very knowledgeable and seemed like someone you would chill with outside of that setting. The food was amazing and portion size was decent. A little pricey but you don't feel cheated when the bill comes. Overall, well recommended and hopefully will dine or get drinks there in future. Came here unexpectedly on a day off, a Friday around 2pm for a cocktail. The atmosphere is dark, dimly lit and perfect for a date. The decor is lovely and inviting. Huge drink menu with unusual and unexpected ingredients. There is a lunch menu with a small list of offerings. Came here a few times and the drinks are truly the best I ever had! The blank space is the most delicious and refreshing drink ever (it's a watermelon based drink with fresh mint and citrus vodka). I also tried their charcuterie which was good but I think the waiter accidentally brought us some of the wrong meats and cheeses. They were still very good and the service is wonderful. I've had the opportunity to visit Sweet Jane's twice in the last month. Once on a Saturday night and once for Sunday brunch. It's a small venue but packs a big punch. They have an extensive list of over 50 cocktails, from the classics, to the artisanal. The food menu is small, but tasty. I was fortunate to try the chef charcuterie board (which was okay) and the fluffy egg sando (excellent). If you're visiting during the weekend, definitely keep in mind that the place is small, so seating will be limited and you will likely have to wait. The best way to describe the ambiance is that it feels like a hip city bar, with Long Island prices. I look forward to going back. read more

We loved sweet Jane! The vibes the drinks the service top notch. The only reason I'm not giving it a 5 star review is I think the food is overpriced for what it is. The place is so cozy and the changing board that lists the songs that come on is such a nice touch. The servers and bartenders were all very nice. We had gotten 4 or 5 different cocktails. I can only remember the name of one Praise You probably cause that was also my favorite. It's so original at least in my experience and fruity but not like gross fruity Ike your drinking a sugary drink. The food wasn't bad at all, it was just average and the plates were small. From the minute we walked in the staff was accommodating. This place was like a high-end speakeasy in New York City. The ambience was perfect for a date or meeting up with friends. We ordered three things, which was the octopus, scallops, and the prime rib. Fortunately for us the bartender made the command decision and had the octopus and scallops come out first. I came here with my adult son to try out this new restaurant. When we walked in there was no one seated at any of the tables and the bartender told us to sit whereever. We sat down and we're approached by a person whom I assume was the manager. He advised the the tables were reserved and we would need to move to the bar. Prior to coming here we checked and the website and it said no reservations so not sure who all the tables were reserved for. We decided to have a drink but left afterwards as we felt unwelcomed. We also were put off by the way the manager approached us and spoke to us. I am unable to make any comments on the food. The two drinks we had off the drink menu were good and the ambiance of the establishment had a cool laid back vibe. However based on the exchange we had with the manager we will not be coming back nor would I recommend it to any of may friends. read more

The only reason I'm leaving one star is because I had to. The service was terrible. We were celebrating a friends birthday and wanted to sit at the bar where they had plenty of seating for our group. We were forced to sit down at a table instead and the waitress took forever to take our orders. So three of us decided to order our drinks at the bar which proved to be much faster since it was empty. The bartender looked annoyed to be making our drinks and while we were waiting at the bar for our drinks, the waitress would push into us to get out of the way, no excuse me just purposely bumping into us to get through. While sitting at the table some of our group got their drinks and others didn't so they had to wait quite a bit to ask the waitress where their drink was. Because of how slow it was getting a drink at the table I asked my husband to order me another drink at the bar. The waitress PUT HER HANDS ON HIM and yelled no im your server you order from me. If the roles were reversed I'm sure your employee would not have been happy to have a stranger push or touch her. We left immediately after that. Your staff is ill mannered and aggressive. read more

Went here last night after work for cocktails and a bite to eat. Great cocktails. Nice array to choose from. Well thought out and executed. Then we shared some oysters that were small but served right, ice cold and free from the shell.. Then we had the Bao buns and the charred octopus that were both excellent.
