It was my first time going and had a great experience! I used to pass this place five days a week when I worked in lindenhurst and always wanted to try it out. The food is actually great, which wasn't what I was expecting from a bar. We had the chicken fingers and fries, for my 17 month old, cheeseburger dip, and pretzel sticks and they were great. The service was great as well. The server was the sweetest. I forgot husband though unfortunately. It's very clean there which is nice to see. We spent Friday the 13th at RipTides listening to the live band Wicked Games. We'd never been before and loved it. It reminds me of a beach bar in Myrtle Beach or Panama City. Very laidback and the decor is relaxing. Mostly an older crowd and the place was packed. We got a seat next to friends quickly. We weren't that hungry so we just ordered mozzarella sticks and the grilled pesto chicken sandwich, which me and my husband split. We upgraded to beer battered onions rings. Everything was delicious and the sandwich was huge! I initially thought the prices were a bit high but given the portion sizes, it was well worth it. Today was hot I came to riptides! I know they have grilled octopus. Noticed a few other people that were here It look like everybody was almost licking all the plates they were served .even the kids looked happy. Recent Visit Date: January 20, 2022 I absolutely love riptides. I hope they will be okay because recently they lost their liquor license and I just learned they'll be closed for at least a month. I don't drink but I was popping in for Karaoke with my best KJ friend Dave G. I love karaoke and am kind of familiar with the long island karaoke scene and a few of the KJs around but Dave got to be my close friend out of all the KJs I've dealt with so I try to make his shows first above all before any of the other KJs even though I like the other KJs too. So I was coming to riptides on Thursdays for Dave's show. They're awesome they have a trifold set up or at least I call it a trifold set up. A small eating area in the back, a big island table in the middle and a bar so you have seating options to hang when you come in. I don't drink so I've always had seltzer, or orange juice and seltzer and being a vegan I have only eaten french fries and brussel sprouts here. I loved them both though. The staff is so nice, I love Luke he's so young but he's a sweet little person. He's actually maybe taller than I am but he's 18 years younger so I can call him a sweet little person. I really hope they come out of this liquor license snafu they were trying to stay open and serve food but I just heard from Dave they might be closed for about a month. People of Lindy let's rally around riptides and help them stay open, if they can reopen definitely eat there as much as you can so they make up for lost business. read more

This place was really good when they first opened. They had an executive chef open it. From I believe Manhattan. Menu was good. Then we recently went back. Maybe they are understaffed....... One table there with maybe 8 people. Ordered drinks and wings and a sandwich. It took 50 minutes. The place turned from what used to be a nice restaurant to a dive bar. Got dinner there tonight through door dash. We used to order take out from this restaurant regularly before they were closed for a period of time. The food was always great. Tonight I got the "over loaded" lobster rolls. This was something I've gotten from them many times in the past and never had any complaints, tonight not so much. I got 2 tiny little lobster rolls with barely any lobster in them. They have the audacity to charge $31 for these (that's the menu price, door dash was $33). This place was an unexpected fun vibe with a nautical theme and pool table in the back. I agree with other comments that it's very loud in there despite the music not being loud tho. My friends and I split the steak skewers which I do not recommend. We ordered them medium but they came out on a piping hot skillet that wound up overcooking them by the time they got to the table and they stuck to the pan. Also they were incredibly salty and just two small skewers for 19 bucks-not worth it. The taco dip was amazing tho but woulda been nice if it came with actual tortilla chips instead of crumbs tho. Plus the chip to dip ratio was way off, we ended up eating most of the dip with a spoon. It was very flavorful tho. For an entree I got the pesto chicken sandwich with fries. Decent portion size and flavor and the fries were not greasy. Coulda used a little more pesto on there but good none the less. Several people I know have gotten ill from eating here, I wish I would've known that before wasting my money on an over cooked burger which resulted in a bad case of the runs. I was very surprised about this place. Before it was Riptides it was a hole in the wall dive bar. Thank you riptides for taking over and putting such a nice establishment up. The food here was amazing also the drinks. Our waiter was Joe and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Everything that we needed he was right on point. The food had nice flavors, texture and presentation was great. I had the pina colada Moscow mule and it blew me away. Great flavor and not to sweet. The swordfish was cooked perfectly and the risotto added that extra yumminess to it. My husband got the mussels Fra Diavalo and they were excellent. Adorable decor and cool vibe, with some happy regulars as I entered this place. My food was delicious - I ordered the stuffed Flounder, which came with fresh garlicky vegetables and homemade mashed potatoes. This was our first time to riptides. We live local and have heard some of the other parents good reviews, but haven't had a chance to check it out for ourselves. We went on a Tuesday night. They were doing taco and margarita specials. We tried a bunch of different ones, all were absolutely delicious. Kids also eat for free so my daughters kids meal was free on top of that. But the best part of our meal was absolutely our server Brendan. He was welcoming, attentive, funny, and knowledgeable. He made our first experience here a 10/10! Amazing!! It's bright, it's airy..the food will knock your socks off. You might think this is your typical neighborhood bar serving typical bar food..but when you look at the menu and hear the specials you'll be amazed. The food is a big step above your average bar grub..I'm talking fancy restaurant quality food here- chilean sea bass, broccoli rabe, lobster rolls, truffle fries..all made incredibly fresh. I asked my FB for a new local place to get good grub. This place got high praise. WE TOTALLY AGREE. Our server Joe was awesome. He was well aware of all options and specials. Very attentive, which means a lot to us. Our first visit always includes oysters when available. Half a dozen ordered and seven were delivered. First plus. The grilled avocado with shrimp over corn was delicious. Better than average calamari with Thai chili sauce. Steak sliders with cheese and bacon. Roll was a bit bready but tasty. What a great addition to Lindenhurst. I came to Riptides on my day off for lunch with my husband. We walked in and saw 2 different groups of friends dining. That was a nice surprise! The decor is very nice. I love the long table in the middle with port and starboard lights. Chris greeted and was very personable. Danny made us delicious drinks!! We first had the Celtic Wings. They were cooked perfect but we like a little spice to our wings. These wings are for people that don't like spice. They were not disappointing, but I will get the spicy ones next. We then shared the Blackened Cajun chicken sandwich. It was amazing! Perfectly cooked and the bun was so fresh! Give it a try! read more

I want to start with our server who was great and very polite. That was the extent of the good. They had an extensive drink menu with new drinks for fall that we were excited to try. Right off the bat we weere told we don't have the sangria we ran out yesterday, and no one has made more. I ordered the pumpkin espresso martini which said it was made with pumpkin puree and I believe cream. It was a tiny espresso martini, watery, with a bunch of pumpkin spice thrown on top which made it gritty. Oh and it was $14! The food was also awful. Husband got a hamburger and it was like a hockey puck and I got the pesto chicken sandwich which was dry and over cooked. I added truffle fries, $6 upcharge, and the fries were mushy and tasted nothing like truffle fries. Our friend ordered the pretzel which was loaded with salt and his wife got the quessadilla which was cold. Everything kn the menu was overpriced, the other people working there, bartenders and I am guessing servers were rude young women. The band were friends of ours which is why we went and at the end of the night the band was not paid in full. They had a bunch of people there eating this swill and paying way too much for poor bar food at best. Don't waste your time or money. Will never be back. read more
