I went on a Sunday evening to see a friend's band and ended up really loving it. The spot is right on the water and has such a cute, laid-back vibe that just works. It's the kind of place you don't expect to be as charming as it is. They also have great specials that change depending on the day, which gives you a reason to come back. We just happened upon this place on a weekend minutes away from opening time. We opted for an array of shared appetizers, and were happy with all of them. We are from Ca here visiting our daughter who moved here and she brought us here. Very cute place where I'm sure 99% of the clientele were locals which was pretty cool! They had a lot of beer on tap and a good size food menu. We were helped very quickly and let me tell you, that woman bartending and helping the eating customers was busting her ass and did an amazing job! I had the portobello burger and it's was great. Great pub for locals and boating enthusiasts. Menu has something for everyone. Kevin was our bartender/server and did a great job of accommodating us as we ate at the bar. Plenty of TVs for sports watching and tunes to enjoy. Draft beer selection is great and the vibe is inviting/pubby. read more

Taco Tuesday with a 2 month reservation of 20 people. A very arrogant staff of one. Basically was told that it was better if everyone ordered the same taco. Not a mix of different tacos. This reservation was well in advance and no extra staff was there. That is a staff issue not a customer issue. Was told that order was what the menu states. Unfortunately, that is not a doable option with people with food allergies or spice issues. Food came out without changes and was told it was what is was. A Philly cheese steak taco comes out without the cheese steak and was told it isn't done with cheese and it is the way it is and not going to be changed or taken off the bill. The decor and vibe in this place is really cool, I popped in for lunch the other day. It was a taco Tuesday so I figured I would try the tacos, but I was really hungry so I got the appetizer chicken tenders & fries. The only good thing about that was that is was hot, otherwise average bar chicken fingers & fries. The chicken fajita tacos were AWESOME! I should have gotten the fish taco as the bartender suggested but I wasn't in the mood for fish so I did pulled pork...I should have gotten the fish because the pulled pork taco had the weirdest craziest fishy taste to it. I've never had coleslaw that tasted like fish. Minus that one weird taco, it was a cool joint and reasonably priced. Great beer selection too! read more

Stopped over at Liam's after spending the day at Toomey's Tavern. Needed to walk around so we,stopped here Liam's for a quick drinks and for dinner. Super let down, premade items. Premade clams at a restaurant on the water? Chicken Sandwich was unseasoned and uninspired. Much different then our previous visit at the end of the summer. Owner seemed more interested in the women at the bar then the food or restaurant, he couldn't be bothered to speak to us. Lots of underage drinking. read more

The indoor bands are way to loud because it's a small bar and no real parking for boat being it's on the water. Wish they would do outdoor bands in summer. Today,I stopped in with a friend for lunch.The bar was crowded watching the Jets and Giants on their nice tv's. Our server, Donna was very warm and polite.She also tends the bar.The interior is nice and the place is very clean. The food is very good.I had a burger and my friend penne with garlic bread. There is also outdoor seating and live music several days a week.Parking is mostly street. It feels like a local hangout and they have many loyal,regular customers.This was my first visit to Liam's, I will definitely look to come again soon.If you are in the area stop in,you will not be disappointed! read more

The price I was charged was not the price on the menu. Questioned the server why my $18 sandwich was billed at $22 and my and my moms Happy Hour $5 drink was billed at $8 and her answer was they haven't had a chance to update the menus. Isn't the point of the menu to show what your are offering and what the cost is? The food was very scant. Baked clams tasted like all bread and steak sandwich made me flash back to the 80s with a slither of a steakum on it. I don't have a huge appetite so not the end of the world but I really felt ripped off. While the extra $$ isn't changing my life I wouldn't give this place another dollar bc it just felt very taken advantage of. Also percentage wise those are pretty significant changes. The server was also the bartender and was very sweet but I will not return. I'm bummed because the location was very nice. Let's start with the guy a the bar who harassed my sister for her name while the staff stood around and watched. The better part was the 15 minutes it took for the waitress to run our Credit card. To add there were cobwebs visible in every corner of the establishment. So from the I attentive staff to the less than desirable clientele who clearly were over served alcohol pick your favorite aspect and try to justify coming to this establishment. I did not have food here, so this is not a review of the food. This place is pretty hard to find. It is nestled between marinas and wharfs and we missed it on first pass. Parking isn't super easy either since there is only a tiny parking lot and there are not that many spots on the street that aren't no parking. The good news is that the drinks were super cheap. $4.50 for the beer I got, not bad. When I ordered a water after, since I was driving, I was told that we may have to give up our seats at the bar to paying customers... Really? Also, who is to say I wasn't going to order another drink? Anyway, this place is pretty shabby. Some may find that charming. It was okay. To be honest, we were only there to support a good friend's band, who was playing all night. They sounded great, though they were kind of just dropped in the middle of the place, it was awkward. Came here on a Saturday night the live music was awesome great classics played by I think the bands name was Joe and the all stars or something like that, super tight even had special guests singing. I find that there are very few places to go out and enjoy a meal and live music where you can feel at home or welcome. Giacomo Jack's definitely achieved that. My boyfriend and I felt like we had been coming there forever by the way that the staff welcomed us, even though it was our first time there. We ordered a bunch of apps including the trio crispy sampler (the coconut shrimp was TO DIE FOR!!!!), baked clams, and the famous muscles.. I now know why they call them the "famous." My sliced steak sandwich was cooked to perfection just how I wanted it and the garlic hero was toasted just right. My boyfriend ordered the lobster ravoli since he can never find it anywhere, and was more than satisfied. Portions were a good size and left me some for lunch at work the next day. Good Bar - Terrible Restaurant Ten dollar hamburger on toasty old crusted bread, chicken parmesan sandwich was left over chunks of chicken buried in sauce then topped with melted cheese but again with old crusty toasted bread, the $10 bowl of today's special soup was OK, the stuffed calamari appetizer smelled very fishy and everyone who sampled it didn't sleep that night.
