Plenty of Large screen TVs to watch the game or whatever is on. They have a very good bar food menu with lots of classics, home made options, and delicious black board specials. Danced to Michael Jackson and enjoyed a plastic cup of Pinot Grigio. Don't enjoy drinking wine from a plastic cup but due to many ppl dancing & big crowd there will be no broken glass lol read more

Great local spot for a chill night. Came here on a Wednesday with a few friends for trivia night and had such a great time!! The ambiance is warm and welcoming and our host Andrew was friendly, attentive and super accommodating. The menu is very diverse and offers a wide variety of food options (fried pickles are bomb) Was looking for a place that did trivia in the area and reached out to about 10 restaurants on Instagram to inquire. Alyssa promptly answered on lions_den191 and was able to set us up with a reservation within minutes! Trivia questions were fun, engaging and great for all ages. The winner of trivia receives a gift card, which we will be using when we come back next week! They followed COVID protocols and have a GREAT vibe to the place. read more

A couple of weeks I stopped here with my nephew. It was a Football Sunday and the bar was crowded. I had a soup and Club sandwich and my nephew had a Pananini. The food was good and the server was polite.This place looks like a neighborhood and is on a corner. I got the feeling that everyone knew each other. The regulars seemed to be nice and love sports. There is a parking lot adjacent to the pub. This was my first visit to the Lions Den.If you are in the area stop in especially if a sports game is on.I would come back here next time in the area. Came here for lunch... 45 min and still no food with only 11 people in the place (three at the bar drinking) food came out looking like a hobo meal at a soup kitchen.. the bartender said it's a new chef but it's not hard to cook some fries and a what appears to be one frozen chicken patty and bread ....needless to say the presentation looked like it tasted.... bun was burnt the chicken had zero flavor and the chef forgot to add bacon as described... the bar tender and chef argued for a few minutes about who was right but at that point it was pointless to send the food back... poor quality all around absolutely would not go back read more

Came here for a snack and beer after an interview at about 2 PM on a Friday. The place was pretty deserted save for a few older gentleman at the bar who appeared to be regulars. My friend and I seated ourselves and were quickly greeted by the very friendly bartender / waitress. I ordered my beer and we settled on chicken nachos (you can choose chicken or beef) for our snack. My beer came out quickly and was frosty and fizzy. The nachos were, sadly, a huge disappointment. Stale store-bought chips with cold, rubbery cheese and mild jarred salsa. I think maybe the cheese-chips portion is microwaved to melt the cheese, then the salsa, sourcream, and guac are dumped on top. This would probably be a fun place to grab a beer and watch a game with friends, but I would probably stay away from the food in the future. read more

Thanks to the Corona virus all local supermarkets were out of corned beef. My wife, after reading positive reviews ordered two platters from the Lions Den. We've dined here several times in the past. It's a decent quick local bar and bite. These platters were a tremendous disappointment. We each received one piece of rye bread, one piece of mediocre soda bread, three pieces of carrots, and half of a small potato. My corned beef was just bits and pieces. My wife's was one slab of mostly fat. We also received zero cabbage. Add injury to insult, everything was cold. $10.95 each. We tried to support a local business in this trying time. Suffice to say, I wont be supporting this establishment any more. read more

I live in the neighborhood and have been here a handful of times with my family. The past few times we came in it took a while to get our food, but I came in this weekend with my brother and the food came out very quick! They have a lot of great "pub" type of food, but it's made with care. They offered tacos, burgers, unique wraps, salads and appetizers. We split mozzarella sticks for an app. They were perfectly cooked and not too greasy, just the way we like them. I got the chicken pesto wrap with a salad instead of fries for my meal. I believe this is a new menu item and it was delish! The chicken was very flavorful and the cheese was fresh. There was a lot of cheese on the wrap though, so I ended up taking some off. My brother had the cheeseburger (which comes on an English muffin instead of a bun) and fries. We didn't have them this weekend, but they have really awesome sweet potato fries! Also happy hour from 3-7 and $2 PBR pints. Can't beat that! read more

So came here with my kids and was concerned because it looks like a typical corner bar. Very family friendly. The food was really good. We had chicken wings, cheesesteak, and turkey panini. No complaints from anyone and I got to teach my kids how to play QuickDraw lol. Awesome place. read more

Have been here a handful of times when I need to grab lunch with a friend or family member. I enjoy coming here because it's consistent, great food, and always polite and wonderful staff. It is obvious that the staff here cares, is friendly, and puts a lot of effort into their work. This establishment has a lot of community members and outsiders alike who enjoy coming to this place, certainly a West Islip icon! The restaurant is certainly very clean and has a modern feel, I absolutely love the bar. It is a typical fun neighborhood place to hang out in. The deep fried mac and cheese is great and my favorite is the goat cheese and vegetable quesadilla with salsa and sour cream, it is SO good, filling, and unique. My husband and I decided to ditch the kids and go out for lunch. We entered the den and were greeted like we were family, and were handed menus and ordered our drinks. My husband ordered chicken Rueben with fries and I got the lion den wrap with sweet potato fries. My wrap was fresh, fat and filled with delicious chicken, mozzarella and veggies and the mesculin was fresh and crunchy. The sweet potato fries were crispy and sweet, yum. My husband polished off his sandwich. He appreciated that the chicken was fresh carved. We will be back, and maybe we will bring the kids, and maybe not, lol. read more

After a great afternoon at Robert Moses beach we were hungry and found our way to Lion's Den. We ordered two house salads which were generous and fresh.
