Great local spot for a chill night. Came here on a Wednesday with a few friends for trivia night and had such a great time!! The ambiance is warm and welcoming and our host Andrew was friendly, attentive and super accommodating. The menu is very diverse and offers a wide variety of food options (fried pickles are bomb) Was looking for a place that did trivia in the area and reached out to about 10 restaurants on Instagram to inquire. Alyssa promptly answered on lions_den191 and was able to set us up with a reservation within minutes! Trivia questions were fun, engaging and great for all ages. The winner of trivia receives a gift card, which we will be using when we come back next week! They followed COVID protocols and have a GREAT vibe to the place.

Drove by on Sunday and upset to see so many people out front NOT observing social distancing nor wearing masks and just getting their "drank on". Nice weather for an upcoming funeral or two. Curbside FOMO.

Yes they delivered the beer! The wings were delish!

Came here for lunch... 45 min and still no food with only 11 people in the place (three at the bar drinking) food came out looking like a hobo meal at a soup kitchen.. the bartender said it's a new chef but it's not hard to cook some fries and a what appears to be one frozen chicken patty and bread ....needless to say the presentation looked like it tasted.... bun was burnt the chicken had zero flavor and the chef forgot to add bacon as described... the bar tender and chef argued for a few minutes about who was right but at that point it was pointless to send the food back... poor quality all around absolutely would not go back

Chicken nachos - can you see the rubbery cheese?

Came here for a snack and beer after an interview at about 2 PM on a Friday. The place was pretty deserted save for a few older gentleman at the bar who appeared to be regulars. My friend and I seated ourselves and were quickly greeted by the very friendly bartender / waitress. I ordered my beer and we settled on chicken nachos (you can choose chicken or beef) for our snack. My beer came out quickly and was frosty and fizzy. The nachos were, sadly, a huge disappointment. Stale store-bought chips with cold, rubbery cheese and mild jarred salsa. I think maybe the cheese-chips portion is microwaved to melt the cheese, then the salsa, sourcream, and guac are dumped on top. This would probably be a fun place to grab a beer and watch a game with friends, but I would probably stay away from the food in the future.

I live in the neighborhood and have been here a handful of times with my family. The past few times we came in it took a while to get our food, but I came in this weekend with my brother and the food came out very quick! They have a lot of great "pub" type of food, but it's made with care. They offered tacos, burgers, unique wraps, salads and appetizers. We split mozzarella sticks for an app. They were perfectly cooked and not too greasy, just the way we like them. I got the chicken pesto wrap with a salad instead of fries for my meal. I believe this is a new menu item and it was delish! The chicken was very flavorful and the cheese was fresh. There was a lot of cheese on the wrap though, so I ended up taking some off. My brother had the cheeseburger (which comes on an English muffin instead of a bun) and fries. We didn't have them this weekend, but they have really awesome sweet potato fries! Also happy hour from 3-7 and $2 PBR pints. Can't beat that!

So came here with my kids and was concerned because it looks like a typical corner bar. Very family friendly. The food was really good. We had chicken wings, cheesesteak, and turkey panini. No complaints from anyone and I got to teach my kids how to play QuickDraw lol. Awesome place.

The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.

"I see her on the freeway Long Island Expressway…read moreHey, give me a break, baby Help me get out of this rain" (Rolling Stones) I just attended a wedding here, and I honestly can't imagine any aspect of the experience that could have been improved. It was that good. The wedding ceremony took place outside, where rows of chairs were set up and we all had gorgeous waterfront views. After the ceremony, we walked into the building's first floor for the cocktail hour. Simply put, the food was amazing. The cocktail hour alone could have served as a meal. There was a big central charcuterie station of cold appetizers - think meats, cheeses, fruits, and crudities. The four corners of the room each housed a food station - a carving station, sushi/sashimi, pasta, and Asian stir fry. Oh, and there were tons of butler service passed hors oeuvres too. Next, we walked upstairs to the large ballroom for the main meal. Dinner service started with a "Burrata Caprese" salad with a big hunk of creamy mozzarella served in a dressed salad with grilled bread. As for the dinner entrees, would you believe a choice of SEVEN entrees?? I kid you not -- seven entrees - Branzino, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, Surf and Turf, and eggplant. My table had just about all of the choices, and everything disappeared. After the meal, there was an apple tart with ice cream and wedding cake. All of the people I interacted with, the hosts, the bartenders, the servers and the clearers were super polite and friendly. When I think about the decor, the scenery, the food, and the service, this was a top-notch experience, Well done, Piermont.

When we arrived we enjoyed specialists drinks, appetizers, and a solo musician on the main floor. There were so many different and fun small plates constantly passed around from mini fish tacos, crab crakes, bruschetta, to fried ravioli. They had hot carving stations and a pasta bar. We were then moved upstairs for the main reception event and dinner. It was a huge wedding party and all of the guests fit comfortably. The decorations were perfection and all of the servers and bartenders were attentive and nice. It was a blast and the staff at Piermont helped make it a success. If you are thinking of this location for your future wedding or reception, I 10/10 recommend the Piermont.

The menu is eclectic: everything from Fried Goat Cheese to Spicy Stuffed Rigatoni to Parm Truffle Fries. I ordered the Au Poivre Skewers and Taste of Long Island Oysters as appetizers. For a cocktail, I had an Old Fashioned made with Woodford Reserve. For dessert, I had the Chocolate Dubai Martini. The Au Poivre Sauce was on par with any steakhouse in NYC, the oysters tasted fresh caught, the Old Fashioned was magnificent with Bourbon Cherries, and the Dubai Martini (a dessert, not a cocktail) was rich and chocolatey. The food and drink are a little pricey for what you get, but that is the story with most restaurants these days. The crowd was a little noisy. It was hard to hear what the bartender was saying to sometimes, but that is just me, Gail B., usually having difficulty tuning out the restaurant/bar crowd.

Potatoes au gratin & Brussels. They were delicious. My one piece of advice; If you want to be an upscale American/steakhouse with art deco kind of vibes, jazz nights, etc., they NEED to learn how to make proper cocktails. I ordered a Manhattan. Don't assume bourbon. A traditional Manhattan is made with Rye. It's supposed to be spirit forward with the beautiful sweet vermouth to balance with 2 dashes ango. Express Orange and dress the peel, or not, doesn't matter. Most bartenders drown cocktails, this one included. And NEVER serve in a martini glass :) Nitpicky but only bc I loved everything else. They just need to learn how to make proper cocktails. The details matter! I'll be back for that Snake River Steak!!

Hospitality: -- the friendly, generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or…read morestrangers, creating a welcoming, comfortable, and safe environment, making others feel valued and at home. This brings us to The James, managed by Joe Giannino under the fat-cat "Standard Hospitality Group," owned by Andrew Affa & Steve Squirtiro. It's hard owning a business and keeping it profitable but not when it's an almost algorithmic formula driven money extraction system so commonly found today. It's more difficult dining out in the world today when it feels like hospitality is vacating. Vining more about high-revenue than humanity. By very definition, I wouldn't call a good portion of the hospitality industry hospitality at all, and I certainly wouldn't say the James offers any. What I love about food is what it does for the soul, & what I've always loved about providing and caring for people is the sense of community; connection during good times and difficult ones alike; That's hospitality to me. Breaking bread is one of the most fundamental human gestures of generosity and true wealth. When you have it, you share it not squander it, not hoard it or treat it like it's something to take from others and line your pockets with. That's why this experience disappointed me so much, because I believe with the myriad of options, we must be far more selective and far more supportive of local and smaller family run establishments. Today, for a table they would still fill and never notice, I tried to cancel a reservation out of respect -- respect for the staff, for other guests, and for my damn self. Being charged a cancellation fee when a mom is sick on Mothers Day, is not hospitality, it is not empathy. It is greed disguised as brand experience self worth. I have supported the Arlo from this same restaurant group in the past and probably would have happily returned too, based on the menu alone, but coldhearted, rigid policies like this change how a place feels. There are many family-run restaurants that understand flexibility and empathy. That kind of environment matters to me, and this experience will forever make me decide to support those places instead. I've recently learned to name positive outcomes when something negative arises, so I believe this time, it's great that it only cost me fifty bucks to never give this group another dime. Typical corporate hospitality is more what the James can offer. These types of COMPANIES feed themselves, not the community.
