Came here yesterday with my daughter. She had an appointment nearby and wanted to grab a bite to eat. The food was amazing and my daughter loved the tacos. She asked to come back next time. Our server was Kelly I believe. She was amazing. Amazing food

Food is great! Service is a hit or miss! I have had days where the service is incredible. Very attentive and welcoming , & other days where I'm honestly just pissed asking myself how they even have a job- so it depends on who you get that day . The food tho keeps me coming back! Wings are amazing and the tacosss sooo good. The birria braised short rib surprised me sooo much - I was literally wowed! The chicken as well is flavorful . Theres lots more on the menu I'd like to try so despite the service, I'll keep coming back. The drink 2 for 1 specials are nice too because the menu is pretty creative and tasty!

I have not been to The Local in awhile but was happy to see it's still doing well. I went for the Babylon blockparty and loved the convenient location. The music was great and security did a great job of handling unruly customers. The drinks were absolutely delicious and the apps were out of this world! The cauliflower crack dip and the fresh pretzel were impossible to stop eating. I will definitely be back soon!

Loved everything about this spot -- from the cozy vibe to the flavorful dishes and creative cocktails. Favorites included the Fig & Goat Cheese Bruschetta, Burrata Salad, and the Tuna Poke Bowl (so fresh and well-balanced). But the standout? Deez Knots -- a garlic knot slider loaded with chicken, mozz, arugula, and roasted red peppers. So good. Drinks were top-tier: the Girl Dinner Fiz was refreshing, the Pink Panther had a smooth citrus twist, and the Big Kahuna felt like vacation in a glass. Great service, fun menu, and definitely worth a visit if you're in the Babylon area!

Our server Jessica was great. Food and drinks were delicious! Bottomless mimosas $30 or personal Prosecco $20.

Obsessed with updating my reviews lately, so here's another one for you. The Local has my heart and it's been a go to place to take friends and family when their in the area and back on LI. As my friend who I lunched with on Saturday said "it has a Queensy vibe" which it totally does, only you will see by the interior decor, it's proud to be on LI and I'm so happy by that. Custom subway signs referring to LI spots is what provides the decor for this place along with chalkboards showcasing the beer list. These days, when I want a beer, I don't look at the list anymore. I tell the staff what I like (usually something on the citrusy side) and I go with it. This is exactly what I did and our server did not steer us wrong. Do I know what beer I had, no...But was she spot on in her recommendation? Yes, she was! Food menu is always changing here, another thing I love, so that Cuban stuffed pretzel was a pleasant surprise when I saw it featured. We jumped at that. As you know I'm a sucker for a special and a French dip was on their special menu. I went for it and never looked back. The meat was so flavorful and the ratio of meat to cheese was perfect. The bread had the right amount of crunch and I hit it with the Old Bay fries and it's the perfect meal. Their sauces are great too, ask for roasted garlic ourthe chipotle aioli on the side. They pair amazing with any of their fries. This place really does get better each time I go. I always opt for a sandwich/burger but I'm sure anything on this menu is dynamite. Brunch is solid too.

Great location and great food. Burrata bomb burger was a challenge to eat but worth it. Loaded pierogis were delicious and pillowy and the blackened salmon tacos were beautifully presented and delicious.

Smokehouse Burger - A burger is sliced in half, displaying a cooked beef patty, crispy bacon, and melted cheese inside a toasted sesame seed bun. The burger is placed on parchment paper, with some crumbs and a pickle visible nearby. The background suggests a casual dining setting.

I have been here about 3 times and have not been disappointed. Service- no complaints! The place is pretty small so I feel like you get attentive service. Food/drinks: really tasty! I'm more of a classic cocktail person...the less ingredients the better. The food has been great. Buffalo chicken eggrolls...yum! The shrimp wrap was delicious. Parking can be a little difficult and it's in a pretty busy area next to the train. There is some outdoor seating. Overall-i love it! I will be back.

Besties having lunch! - Two women, one wearing a pink shirt and the other in a green top, are smiling and posing together inside The Local restaurant in Babylon Village. The interior features high tables, chairs, and a sign indicating the restaurant's name. The space has a bright, airy atmosphere with white walls, ceiling fans, and multiple TV screens mounted on the walls. The women appear happy and are close to each other, suggesting a friendly or celebratory moment.

We enjoyed a lovely late-afternoon lunch. The ambiance was fantastic and the service was excellent. Highly recommended -- definitely a must-do!

Nice atmosphere with a train station related decor ...... in this case that is a good thing as it is tastefully done. Nice selection of cocktails that include the Big Kahuna, Fortune Teller and the Local to Penn - but I'm a beer drinker so it was the local lager for me and that hit the spot. Plenty of screens to catch a game as well

WOW. I found this place on social media & immediately added it to my "must try" list - and now I'm telling you that you have to also! Great vibe inside and some seating outdoors. Our waitress, Alicia was wonderful. So friendly and gave great suggestions. The frozen espresso martini was INSANE. I don't know how I'll go back to regular ones! The true star of the meal was the mac & cheese skillet with short rib. HOLY COW. The short rib was perfectly seasoned & had a great bbq flavor & just melted in your mouth/fell off the fork. The mac & cheese was creamy and cheesy, ooey and gooey - all the things a good mac should be. The bavarian pretzel was good too, but not extraordinary. Will absolutely be back. Soon!

    Cute sign.

Maybe I'm getting old. Perhaps I'm not as young and hip as I used to be...okay, that's a definite because these days I'm totally cool with an early dinner and hangin' at home (though I won't deny some drinks out still sounds nice). What am I blabbering on about? Well this blabber sets the mood for my recent-ish dinner at The Local with fiancée in hand. Now you already know I went with three stars here so that should be a sign things weren't amazing, but they really weren't terrible either, especially once you strip away a few factors. Let's start with a positive in that The Local is a cute little spot nestled on the backside of Deer Park Ave by the train station. It takes that train aspect with some of its theming. Add on an eclectic menu of flavorful-sounding foods and things seem great, right? Sorta... Well I can't really badmouth the service here. It did take a bit of time for someone to finally help us, but once she made her way to our super-high top table, our waitress's friendliness shined through. I'll say it was tough to snag her down by the end of the night, but the reasoning as to why is coming momentarily (hang tight). Food and drink-wise things were relatively tasty as I started with a delicious seasonal spiked cider. For dinner, the fiancée went with the birria tacos while I went for the burrata bomb burger. Those tacos were rockin' and probably better than my own handheld. The beef of my burger was flavorful and the burrata was creamy, but most of the other topping items were scarce or couldn't be tasted. I got hints of bacon from the apparent bacon jam, but the roasted garlic and Rosemary aioli was nonexistent. I'll say the parm-truffle fries we upgraded for on the side of my burger were fantastical. Not a terrible meal by any means and the prices were decent...though there's a 3.5% uptick of menu prices if you pay by card. I understand everyone's hurting in the current economic climate, but it still irks me when the note for this is tiny and not really mentioned. Glad we had the cash on us. Truth be told, I'd probably still give the entire experience four stars if it hadn't been for the crowdedness of the place. The Local seems to emanate this contemporary food/drink establishment, but by 8:30 on a Friday (after already waiting around 40 minutes for a table), the place was nuts. Loud music and hoards of people by the bar spilling over into/near our table. Let's just say it didn't make for a very comfortable dining experience. Plus like I mentioned before, our waitress got lost amongst the craziness and she even looked stressed over just how busy it was when I ended up searching for her just so I could pay the bill and get out of Dodge. Oy. Overall, sure you can call me old, but The Local didn't really have the same vibe that I expected from Yelp pics and setup. Yes, I know it was a Friday night and perhaps that was our downfall, but there's plenty of other spots that wouldn't be as crowded and loud in which you could still enjoy a decent dinner. Would I return to The Local? Perhaps, but I'm staying away on the weekend. The chance of returning during the week isn't as easy so perhaps that return trip wouldn't be happening anytime soon. We shall see...

So come in here after a dinner to meet up with my friends co worker. It's q quaint spot. Vibe was very chill they asked doe ID as we walked in. The serve was quick to check in as we sat down. The music was okay it's not a place to go to if your looking to get up and dance. It's low enough foe you to talk but the vibe out to the music if it's your vibe. They give a free drink to a new customer if tou sign up for their rewards program. I had a cranberry sangria and by the 3rd one I was feeling really nice. They definitely pour a strong drink that you do t realize is strong. Someone in our group ordered wings. They all ate them so it seems like they were good they were deep fried sorry can't give more on those.

Warm, cozy, and full of charm, with thoughtful details everywhere (including rolling pins hanging from the ceiling, which I loved). It immediately sets the tone for a fun, relaxed night out. We went with friends and had such a great experience from start to finish. I kicked things off with a classic espresso martini, while my husband went with a mule--both were perfectly made and a great way to start the night. For appetizers, we went all in and ordered one of each of the Piadina Romana's plus a medium meat board--and this is where Talina really shines. Every single item was cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful. The sausage, baby lamb chops, pork ribs, and vegetable gratin were all standout in their own way. I kept trying to pick a favorite and just couldn't--everything was that good. The staff deserves a shoutout too--they were genuinely friendly, attentive, and had great personalities that made the whole experience feel even more special. For dinner, I ordered the Strozzapreti Gratinati and my husband got the Mezzelune al Tartufo. We shared (obviously), and both dishes were phenomenal. Rich, comforting, and packed with flavor--and the fact that all of the pasta is homemade really takes it to another level. We definitely ordered a lot of food... but somehow left with zero leftovers because it was just too good to stop eating. We wanted to try dessert, but we were completely tapped out. Safe to say we'll absolutely be back--and already have plans to return with more friends. Pro tip: Come hungry and plan to share--the meat board and multiple pastas are the move. The Brixton is a beautiful restaurant with very relaxed and casual vibes. The word around town is that their drinks are awesome. What about their food, though? They originally would not seat us in the middle of the afternoon because most of the empty tables were reserved. We had to request to sit outside, which was empty, before they decided to serve us. Odd that they did not even offer that to us. The General Tso' Cauliflower was the only great thing served to us. It is incredibly crispy and flavorful. You almost forgot that you were eating a piece of vegetable at times. The Short Rib Brisket Sesame burger was shocking. $18 for two White Castles-sized sliders. It was easily consumed, and I was left much to be desired. This is most definitely an appetizer item, not an entree. The Chicken Waffle was good. Nicely deep-fried and packs a lot of flavor. The waffle looked dubious. If I had to guess, it might not be mad fresh to order. Essentially, it's 3 drumsticks/wings over a possibly frozen Eggo waffle. I would recommend a second dish if you are looking to get full. The Steak frites and Eggs Benedict were the final dishes served. It is hard to mess these dishes up, but the ribeye was nicely seasoned and cut up. The dishes were nicely displayed. Overall, this is just an OK experience. When the deep-fried cauliflower appetizer is the most memorable dish here, it is quite alarming. Portion sizes are on the small end, and none of the flavors for the entrees really stuck out. Perhaps I will come here strictly for the drinks next time.

After the ceremony, we walked into the building's first floor for the cocktail hour. Simply put, the food was amazing. The cocktail hour alone could have served as a meal. There was a big central charcuterie station of cold appetizers - think meats, cheeses, fruits, and crudities. The four corners of the room each housed a food station - a carving station, sushi/sashimi, pasta, and Asian stir fry. Oh, and there were tons of butler service passed hors oeuvres too. Next, we walked upstairs to the large ballroom for the main meal. I just recently attended a reception here over the weekend. It was AMAZING. From the views, to the…read moreservice, to the food. All of it exceeded my expectations of a New York wedding. When we arrived we enjoyed specialists drinks, appetizers, and a solo musician on the main floor. There were so many different and fun small plates constantly passed around from mini fish tacos, crab crakes, bruschetta, to fried ravioli. They had hot carving stations and a pasta bar. We were then moved upstairs for the main reception event and dinner. It was a huge wedding party and all of the guests fit comfortably. The decorations were perfection and all of the servers and bartenders were attentive and nice. It was a blast and the staff at Piermont helped make it a success. If you are thinking of this location for your future wedding or reception, I 10/10 recommend the Piermont.
