After a beach day at Robert Moses Field 5, we walked over to Dive for dinner at Kismet, and you really can't beat the location. It's a quick, easy walk from the beach, and the views are worth it. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside, and it had a fun, laid-back vibe. We started with a Rocket Fuel, which is a must have when anywhere on Fire Island, especially after a hot day! To start, we ordered the Yummy Balls from the sushi menu. They're three crispy rice balls topped with spicy tuna and crunchy bits. They definitely tasted better than they looked! The presentation wasn't anything special, but the flavor was on point. My friend built her own Dive Poke Bowl with tuna. It comes with edamame, avocado, crunch, and lettuce, and everything tasted really fresh. I stole a bite (obviously), and it was really good. I ordered the Blackened Mahi Tacos. They were fresh and the fish was cooked well, but I thought they were a little bland. Nothing a squeeze of lime or a little extra sauce couldn't fix though, I still enjoyed them. The service was quick and friendly. The views are great, the drinks were solid, and the menu has a little bit of everything. It's the perfect spot to end a beach day, whether you're just grabbing a cocktail or staying for dinner! read more

The portions were very small. I ordered tacos and only received two for $24. The chicken on my sandwich was undercooked, although they did replace it with another sandwich. Such great service! Waiter was kind, and food was severed quickly. Ambiance is the typical bar / outdoor restaurant. Great spot to grab a quick bite at the bar, or table service. Plenty of bike rack spots, or you can also walk from Robert Moses Field 5. I can see this being a popular spot for the Kismet vacationers, but also possible for the Robert Moses daycations. There are not a lot of restaurants to choose from in Kismet, but I will say this is one of the better options. I'm a lobster roll aficionado; it's not summer for me if I don't have a good LR. I am saddened to report, I was not a fan of their lobster roll, in fact it was the worst one I tried this whole summer. Apps and drinks were perfection. Restaurant vibes are good too. I would absolutely come back, and try another entree. Calamari was on point ! They have events during the week that seem cool to check out. read more

This is such a great place to hang out. It's casual and friendly and the food is great! I had the sushi which was absoutly delicious! Our server Christian was awesome! He was friendly, funny and so easy to talk to. He made a great experience even better, and we could all tell he loves what he does. This is definitely the place to check out for a nice casual lunch. We had a great time here. We took the pedicab from Robert Moses and walked a few blocks. It's a beautiful neighborhood. We ordered a lobster roll that was 10/10 with fries ( crispy and flavorful) Drinks: Rocket fuel was phenomenal and margarita was ok( maybe my least favorite item). Ordered the duck wings, a tad spicy, chicken wings, fried calamari and the mussels. What a great experience at The Dive in Kismet. Eventhough the place was very busy, our waiter Christian provided prompt, courteous service and thought ahead about our needs. Finally got to fire island. Took the pedicab to Kismet for $10 a person. The pedicab runs all summer and on the weekends until November. Kismet is the closest town and you can also walk there from Robert Moses , a 2 mile walk (30 minutes). Walked around town and came upon A couple restaurants and market. Went into DIVE Restaurant. Great place with lots of seating options. You can sit indoors in air conditioning, in the covered porch on the side or up front outside. Has a good menu with vegetarian options. The tuna nachos were excellent as were the drinks . Service was just ok but adequate. Very enjoyable experience read more

Made a reservation for a party of 6. Received a text that my table was ready 15 before the time. When I got to the Dive 5 mins before my reservation time the table was not ready and had to wait 10 mins for my table. Bottom shelf alcohol (not even sure it it's rum). I've asked for them to make it with Bacardi, they gladly say yes and then still pour it out of a plastic bottle and hand you your 100 dollar bar tab with a smile. Visit Dates: July 3, 2022 and July 4, 2022 Over the July 4 weekend I kind of felt like I lived at the dive. My boyfriend played with The Ronald Reagans on July 3 and with his home band VHS on July 4. So for two days in a row along with doing a few other things in between I took ferries or did the Fire Island Lighthouse path to get back and forth from the Dive to Long Island. The food and drinks here are very good. I only ate the food one day because it was on the pricey side. If you are in a band they will comp you burgers or a chicken sandwich. I had the naan tacos and they comped them for me because I'm a vegetarian and because I was with the band as kind of a roadie. I also had the virgin mudslide since I don't drink alcohol and that was good too. The atmosphere here is so much fun. The night ends early so the band can get back to Long Island but people enjoy the music and dancing if they're into it. They have some games to play for the adults and for the kids if there are kids around. The atmosphere is relaxed and beachy. I may or may not be back here for the two other shows VHS booked but come check out the dive especially for a live music night. read more

We loved our little trip to fire island, so much we went like three times. I loved Dive, it's such a small little town and the only way to get in is either by foot, a pedicab or boat/ ferry. The food was an intricate variety of choices one could make. You had from sushi to pasta, to sea food to burgers and chicken wings, fries. And yes, we ordered all of it!!! Food was eh - I was a little disappointed to be honest. Not too many choices as far as restaurants to go to in Kismet but Dive seemed like a good option. The menu was pretty diverse for what they offered. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich but subbed the crispy chicken for grilled. I also subbed the fries for a side salad which was a good size. To me, the quality of chicken didn't seem good. It was pretty fatty and that usually turns me off to the whole meal. The salad pictured was heirloom tomatoes. It was really small and should be offered as an appetizer and not a main course dish. There's really no protein so it's not filling for the price of $15. Service was pretty good considering how busy it was but our waitress would hardly stop at the table to listen. I respect her working hard but I couldn't ask for what I needed because she wasn't taking the time to listen to the customers. Finally tried this new restaurant. The vibe is 70s. Small menu. They kept the sushi from the "out". My friend and I opted for the burger and a rocket fuel. The burger came with bacon, cheese and their sauce. I thought it was very tasty. Came with a decent size of fries. Brocket fuel was good. We visited The Dive on Memorial Day weekend and our server, Kyle, went above and beyond assisting us! The short rib tacos were so delicious. Caesar Salad and the Greek salad were perfect portions. Four grilled shrimp on the Caesar were cooked perfectly. The Greek had delicious grilled chicken and an assortment of vegetables. I ordered the short rib tacos and it was three corn tortillas with melted cheddar cheese and short ribs and it was very bland and the sauce on the side tasted like greasy meat juice, and then a chimichurri sauce. Meh. I actually took a few bites and sent it back. My husband got a dive burger and it tasted like chop meat, it wasn't seasoned and had no flavor. The fries are good though! The server was either really busy short tempered, not my fave. We might go back to have some drinks or enjoy the ambiance and appetizers but for the premium Fire Island pricing I'd expect better food than what I cook at home! read more
