Even though I live super close to Tres Palms, I never actually visited! My first time was definitely impressive. The food, drinks, and dessert were delicious, and the views were great! Also everything came out super fast. My only improvement suggestion would be that they try to make desserts a little more special for birthdays. I did make a point to state it was my cousin's birthday which most places usually then add a candle to a dessert. But otherwise, this place is definitely worth the hype and I will definitely be returning!! P.s. food is a little pricey but you are paying for the views too! read more

We probably would have ordered a lot more, especially drinks if it wasn't so slow. We were given menus and ordered drinks that we were told twice would count as happy hour. After 20 minutes I went inside to inquire about the drinks and was told it wouldn't be happy hour at the table, even though we asked. Twice. Then ordered our food ...was then told that one of the drinks and entrees were not on the menu that we were given the wrong menus and then given new menus. Got there at 4 took over 2 hrs to eat. Everything took at least 30 min, even a diet coke. Nachos came out ice cold. Fish tacos fell apart and couldn't taste them because they were smothered in hot sauce. The ketchup we were given was in like a recycled frappuccino bottle with black mold in the lid and around the top of the bottle. Burgers were really salty. Waitress didn't notice that most food was left on the plates. I'm pretty sure the owners were two tables away as patrons from a private party left telling the man Thank you. They noticed all of the "eww" faces and discontented comments and said nothing. You couldn't pay me to give it another try. read more

It would have been better if the tortilla shell were actually whole and not almost torn in half. How do you eat a taco if you only get 3/4 of a tortilla? My wife's steak was undercooked and raw, not medium. The plate was barely touched, and the waitress just took away and never asked what was wrong. She did ask in the first few minutes after she put them on the table if everything was excellent. My wife replied I wouldn't call it excellent," and was never questioned what was wrong. Actually, one star is too much. Will not be visiting anytime soon. no matter of fact, I may never be back. SAD. Without a doubt, one of the WORST restaurants on Long Island. The service is absolutely detrimental and so is the management. The food is overcooked, inedible and everything takes forever. If you choose to come here, be prepared to wait 90 mins for food (has happened to us all 3 times!!!) and watch management berate their staff, enjoy! I have been here plenty of times but today was a disappointment. Ordered 2 steak quesadillas- specifically asked if guacamole came with it and waitress said yes. They both came out with no guacamole. No big deal... but had to ask the waitress to bring it out. When she brought it out I got a small plastic cup of it and didn't bring one out for my friend. Had to wait longer to get the second cup. We had to keep asking for water. Waitress never asked how our food tasted. 2 steak quesadillas were chewy!! And $50 for two of them!? The fish tacos were extremely small and not enough food for my husband. Lobster roll- friend said it was ok. The only thing my friend liked were the mussels. They forgot to bring out the garlic bread that came with it and they had to ask for it. Upon receiving the bill, we got charged $6.00 for guacamole when we specifically asked if it came with it. Waitress told me I misunderstood her. I clearly did not if 3 others at my table heard our conversation. I also told her the food was terrible and she did nothing about it. So disappointed in today's lunch. Ordered a cocktail that tasted like a $16 orange juice and was told that I could pay more money to put alcohol in it. Decided that I'd order another drink, the waitress brought the drink menu and then never came back. Had to eat my salty cod with no beverage as they didn't even refill our waters. Upon being seated, the table next to us sent their food back for being too salty. We should've abandoned ship at that point but decided to give it a try. It's a one and done. I've heard mostly not so good things about this restaurant, but wanted to give it a fair shot. The ambiance was underwhelming for the prices you pay. Outdoor views were pretty, but why would I want to eat at a picnic table? We started with the pulled pork nachos which were good. The drink menu had some interesting looking drinks on it. My friend and I had the Fluke stuffed with crabmeat with mashed sweet potato. The fluke was rather dry and edges were hard. My husband had the seafood pasta made with red sauce, but he changed it to garlic and oil. The mussels were good, but lobster was tough. My friend's husband seemed underwhelmed with his skirt steak dish. We ordered a side of mac and cheese for kids and honestly that was best thing we ate. Our waiter was sort of strange and abrupt. He pulled the bill away as soon as my husband put it down. Usually waitstaff will give you a chance to sit a few minutes. read more

I started with the tres palmas which was tea vodka with pink lemonade and I was a little skeptical about the combo but it was very good and not overly sweet. We split the Thai chili garlic wings which were doused in sauce and oozing with flavor and a decent portion size for an app! I got the fiesta grilled cheese with fries. It was a fully loaded grilled cheese with all the good stuff-guac, bacon, etc-delish! The fries were crispy not greasy. And our server was very nice. I will definitely be back soon! read more

My experience today was terrible and completely unacceptable, I'm sorry I never had a server before that was so completely not attentive to her tables.. Her lack of concern was so confusing to me. She had no personality as well. Let's just start with that she never asked if we would like any water for the table.It took her forever to ask if we would like any drinks or appetizers. Finally when she took our drink and appetizer order...which was chips and guac, she never gave us plates. So on the other hand...the restaurant puts a paper table cloth on top of a dining cloth. Some one at our table spilled their water and it just ran all over us because of the paper table cloth. So we all had wet pants and our server passed by and just disregarded the mess that my guests and I started to clean until a bus boy jumped in and started to help us remove the mess. Note server passed by several times and still no comments or concerns. Didn't even offer to replace the glass of water that was spilled. So we ordered the Lollipop Lamb Chops with Truffle Mash Potatoes and Chimichurri Sauce which was excellent, The Painted Hills Marinated Skirt Steak which was excellent as well. We also ordered 2 Poke Bowls which we where not too happy with. Granted everything was very fresh in the poke bowls they where lacking flavor. It was just raw tuna thrown on top of the fruit and veggies. I believe the sauces where forgotten to be added on to the bowls. I had to ask waitress for the sauces. The rice was kind of hard and didn't taste like white rice it tasted like some sort of instant rice. Needless to say at this point I didn't even bother to eat my poke bowl and the other person at table didn't even finish theirs. The ambience is very beach life relaxed, All in all the menu has a lot of great options that I will go back to try just as long as my experience is more enjoyable and I don't have the same waitress. This place has definitely got some local flavor. Great location, perfect for brunch on Sundays on a warm sunny day. If you're lucky, you can get a table near the water and enjoy the amazing views. You can also admire the people parking their fancy speed boats and showing off their trophy wives in bikinis as they pick up tons of take out cocktails. I've been here about three times (once in the evening) and so far the food and service has been uneven. Sometimes my Moscow mule has been huge and other times meager. I usually order the chicken quesadilla because it's hard to mess that up. The only thing I can whole heartily recommend is the seafood fra diavolo linguine -- excellent! Unfortunately, that same night there was a very rowdy and a bit thuggish table staring at my friends and me all night. We were creeped out. They weren't even ordering anything. We skipped dessert because of the bad vibes. Bottom line: If you get a table near the water, it could be worth your while. read more

Love the fact that the place is super casual with an amazing view & outdoor seating. We opted to eat inside, it was extremely loud with a large table with people who have been drinking for a while. That's fine & to be expected. The food was just okay. Waitress was great. Busboys & Refills of water took a long while. We started off with Chips & Guacamole which were awesome. Clams & oyster were also very good. The burger came out undercooked & French fries were oily & mushy. I was expecting more out of the Mac & Cheese but it fell short for me. I would definitely recommend the Chicken wings ! The Cocktails were awesome. Shrimps portion were small & only four. The Apple desserts was supposed to be hot, but it was cold. Went to Tres Palms, last week with a party of six, and we all had a fantastic time, our waitress, I believe her name was Ana, was a fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable with the menu, as well as the food preparation. The various martinis, that the ladies ordered, all had a good amount of liquor, as well as the ingredients to go with it. All the guys were just going with Beer. For starters we had the Lobster Nachos, large amount of chips, good amount of lobster. We also had the Guacamole And Chips, again large amount of chips, and really great Guacamole. We had three Lobster Rolls, they were good, good amount of lobster, fresh, toasted bun, French fries were very good. We had three entrées entrée 1, the marinated skirt steak, cooked just right, tender, decide they came with it, were also the perfect complement. Entrée 2, Black Tiger Shrimp, nice large shrimp, wrapped in bacon, the ginger sauce, and the guacamole, his combination. Like many other long islanders wifey and I seize every opportunity we can for waterfront dining on summer evenings when the weather is good. Tonight's comfy climate led us to Babylon for a meal at Tres Palms. Located right on the docks, they offer up a wide variety of options for seafood lovers and also for those who aren't fans. Overall it was a really good experience with some very tasty food. Had the tiger shrimp entree which I must say was terrific - huge beautifully grilled shrimp wrapped in prosciutto alongside asparagus & a super tasty guacamole. Minus one star for the one flaw we found on all plates - way too much liquid. As much as I enjoyed the tiger shrimp, the bottom of the plate was swimming in a ginger sauce that while very tasty was becoming overpowering by the end because there was just way too much of it. Similar situation with Wifey's skirt steak as there was a ton of oily liquid on there that was likely from the spinach. And the Brussels sprouts side I ordered could've easily been mistaken for a soup with the amount of sauce I had to sift through to get to the tasty veggies. If they clean this problem up the food would be an absolute home run read more
