August 18, 2023 My bf and I went to Tres Palms for dinner for the water view. The view was good. The service was not, I knew we should have left when I saw the waitress was not the friendliest and when bringing over the small dishes for apps she took the top plate and placed it on the bottom I figured she did that because it was dirty and sure enough it was. I asked for a new plate when she returned granted she apologized it could have been avoided by getting a clean plate from the beginning. Utensils and napkins were not brought over with the plates we had to ask for them. As far as the food I was not impressed. We had Fried Calamari, Lobster nachos, And Harry O's Pan Roasted Free Range Chicken Our server was Genesis according to the receipt I believe it was table 43 in the corner by the water read more

The location is top notch. The food is also top notch. But the service is terrible. So dine in if you have unlimited time and can be patient with slow and often very rude waitresses. It was my 5th visit so I can accurately judge the bad service staff. read more

Started right at the beginning- asked for a table dockside and we were brought to a table under the tent. I got up and looked and saw that they were two tables open on dockside. When I brought this to the hostess attention, she promptly sat at a dockside table. Food/drink service was one of the biggest disappointments. Sat at our table for over 20 minutes before someone brought us water. I had to go inside and ask if there was a waitress that was going to take our order. For appetizers we ordered the clam chowder and mussels. Both were excellent. As for dinner, for me that was a different story. I specifically asked for the New York strip and lobster tail. What I got was a lobster tail and skirt steak. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium and received it medium rare (more rare than medium-looked like only one side was actually grilled). After the food was severed the waitress never came back to ask if everything was OK. My wife's bacon cheeseburger had burnt bacon that was Hard as a rock. She couldn't even spit it out because we had no napkins ! I had to go in and ask one of the other waitresses for napkins. At the end of the meal I then had to go inside and find the waitress so we could get the bill. It was then that I saw that she had ordered me a skirt steak and a lobster tail. Total screwup! Rum punch tasted like punch without any rum. Service and food were very good, although $15 for a glass of house wine was over the top. Menu prices are also up there. First time dining at Tres Palms, made a reservation using Open Table. Received an email later that we missed our reservation so obviously the hostess didn't check us in properly. We opted to sit outside on the deck since it was such a nice day out. Took a little bit to be greeted by our waitress. Seems like they don't have sections, rather rotate who gets the next table of guests. Our waitress wasn't outside for any other table. We ordered drinks which took a long time to get. The family seated on their boat ordered drinks after us and got them quickly. I got the Dark & Stormy which is one of my favorite drinks made with my favorite ginger beer. The ratio was off, it wasn't good. We ordered 2 dozen oysters & the tuna tartar to start. My husband ordered the lobster roll and I ordered the salmon over butternut squash purée. I had to flag down the runner who brought out the oysters and didn't know which table to bring them to. Our entrees came out next. I never got the tuna tartar. Our waitress came over and asked if I still wanted it as I'm eating my entree. I declined and she took it off the bill. Since she was inside for her other tables we asked for the check so we didn't have to track her down after we finished eating. My husband's lobster roll was tiny for the price. I was seeking a different food experience to take my wife to to celebrate early Mother's Day,2023. I found it and I was greatly pleased. Set right at the south shore water in Babylon, NY this is advertised as New American Food. Well it is definitely eclectic and every my wife and I are and drank was B+ or better Starters Baked Clams looked heavenly, my pulled pork nachos was delicious and a large portion. Mains Scallops so good looking! I had house specialty Bunger Burger, with 2 rashers of crispy bacon, guacamole, and a grilled pineapple disc for a tart flavor - excellent. Cocktail was Jack Daniels old fashioned well made. My wife had a glass of Cab Sauce. We just attended a Graduation/Birthday celebration and we were extremely impressed with the menu. Nothing I can say that we didn't appreciate and enjoy. Food was great, not to mention the service of the wait staff. They were continually attentive to any of our wants. With the world going in such a negative direction it was a pleasure to be in a surrounding with friendly, cordial, polite, and just made our experience of the day complete. This was a nice night. I wish the weather was better so we could have ate outside. The wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable, drinks were good. We had margaritas and mine was with jalapeños. We had the seafood tower, great clam, oysters shrimp and lobster, It could have had more cocktail sauce but did not ask for anymore either. Entrees we're good, the stuff lobster tails were great , the scallops delish but the lamb chops were small and over cooked. We were seeking a restaurant that was located on the water and decided to visit this establishment. Although they are located on the water there are very limited water views in the dining room but they do have outdoor on the doc seating weather permitting. The restaurant has a warm cozy very casual ambience which is fitting for their location. Our waiter was very pleasant and quite accommodating with the menu changes in our dinner choices. Their menu seem to provide typical American cuisine dishes but also has a good selection of seafood dishes. The grilled salmon dressed with certain fruit was very good. And we also enjoyed for appetizers the Oyster Rockefellers. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience and the comfortable setting. Also we were never feeling rushed by our waiter. read more

I am always on the fence about this place. Great location and good variety on the menu whether you do brunch or dinner, but paying $14 for a mimosa is pretty crazy. It seems prices have risen much higher compared to other places, too. Service is a mixed bag. The bussing staff was highly attentive but our waitress took forever one time during a brunch. Came here for Sunday brunch with some friends. Was a beautiful day wanted to sit outside by the water but even with a reservation it would of been a wait. Cute little restaurant. Our server was decent, he did the trick and made sure we were all okay. As far as food I thought it was okay-average. I wasn't blown away with anything. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. It was alright. Not overly impressed. My boyfriend got the fish and chips he couldn't really taste the fish. My girlfriends got the fiesta grilled cheese and the burger with pineapple. They loved the grilled cheese but again not overly wowed with the burger. Our drinks through were fantastic!! Me and friend ordered the key lime martini. Wow, might be my new favorite drink. Would come back here just for that. Our other friend ordered the painkiller also delish! I would come back here for drinks again but I don't know if I would come back for lunch/dinner. read more

I have been to Tres Palm numerous times. on Friday, 8/11, dinner with my husband and son. i was very disappointed with the seafood salad as an appetizer. it came in a small cup. it consisted of 1/3 of a shrimp, no scallops, 4 rings of calamari. it was all octopus. no olives. seasoning consisted of cilantto. no dressing. Awful . Priced at $28.00. The shrimp dish was mush. the waitress looked like she wanted to be some other place. Shame on you Tres Palm. read more

Came here to catch up with friends on a weekday and my only complaint is that it doesn't stay open too late. We started off ordering drinks at the bar and sitting in some adirondack chairs outside, overlooking the boats. It was a beautiful evening, and the environment just made the glass of wine that much sweeter. Once all the girls got to Tres Palms, we took a table. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, so we could taste everything. The lobster nachos were very yummy! I will definitely be coming back! read more

Talk about a hidden gem. I would recommend Tres Palms to a stranger, and quite honestly I do, regularly! The best food and the best atmosphere. Service is top tier. Thus is the second time I came fo mother's day brunch. I had the Lobster Egg Benedict. My husband had the steak and eggs. The eggs bacon little pieces of lobster all over cooked abd cold. The bacon was burnt. The tiny cubes of potatoes not fresh probably those frozen ones in a bag. The wine was 14.00 same as a Martini. The price of this small brunch for the 2 of us and tip $168.00. If you restaurants are going to overcharge us and charge us extra for using Visa etc you had better make sure you are cooking good food. I will never go their for mother's day again. read more

The spot is a great location right on the water in what I imagine was a house at some point as the area is mostly residential aside from the park. The view was the best part and our experience paled in comparison. We made a reservation for 2 last night and got there at 6:30. The place was already very crowded with large groups waiting for tables. Upon walking in you have to go past the bar, then to the first dining room and we were seated in the second dining room. There were 3 guys playing live music which was nice but that bar was SO crowded already. I was happy to be back there as the noise level was insane but as more people came, it just got louder. It was to the point where I wouldn't hear my husband who was sitting next to me. We waited nearly 10 minutes for the server to arrive. She was very sweet once she did come over to greet us, but there was no excuse that we sat there that long. The table next to us was seated after us and got their appetizers before we got our beverages. We ordered 1 drink each (wine and margarita), skipped apps and went straight for the entrees. Drinks were okay. I ordered the Thai coconut cod and hubs ordered the chicken. Both dishes were flavorful but very, very small. Especially for those prices! I read in another review that the prices can be compared to Prime in Huntington except the fact that Prime is a very different eating establishment. Tres Palms to me seems like a dressed up bar. It's decorated very nicely, the beach theme is adorable throughout the place. It's clean. The people who frequent here are boater/bar folk and there's seriously nothing wrong with that-but all I'm saying is that the prices that you pay shouldn't be for a fancy bar! 1 drink each and 1 entree each came out to about $50 pp including tax and tip. I feel like if you're going to drop that kid of money, the dishes should be larger and ambiance better. I needed to use the restroom on the way out and there was "something wrong" with the ladies room so I had to stand on line for the men's room. Just like back in college at a BAR. See the pattern? I would give 2.5 if I could but our server was nice (even though we waited another 10 minutes for her to come grab our card to run after she dropped the check) and food wasn't bad-we were just still hungry after we left. Had the duck wings, was tasty. Sauce was a bit too starchy, duck was a little chewy as it was a little over done. Had a pumpkin Ale was a little early for pumpkin but very good on a hot sunny day. So happy that they have this option because we're able to enjoy the short but beautiful spring/summer days here on the island. We started with the tuna tar tar which came with plantain chips and we super delicious. My entre was the pan roasted fluke, which was kind of disappointing but then again, my pallet is completely different than the waiter's (he recommended it). What was extremely delicious, was my husband's dish; the Pan Seared Tuna Steak. I will definitely be ordering it when we go back. My little guy got the Mac and cheese side which was a perfect portion for him (6y.o.). We'll definitely be back soon! read more

My date and I were seated and never had a waiter/waitress come to our table. 15-20 minutes should be enough time to have someone come and ask to take our order, especially when 3-4 servers passed our table. We've been trying to give business to the local spots in Babylon and Bay Shore with all this nonsense going on. We went here and ordered a bunch of apps and cocktails last night and it was pretty bad. Our server was nice enough and that's pretty much where the 2 stars come in. The "lobster nachos" were just nachos, except for the 2 minuscule pieces of lobster I used my microscope to locate under the sea of cheese. The calamari was the smallest portion I've ever seen in my life and was just tiny burnt pieces covered with coconut. The tuna tartar was the best of all the apps but still fell flat. Pretty much only enjoyed the plantains they're served with and the margaritas. I'll be going back soon to grab my friend's credit card they forgot to put back in the holder.
