Southwest chicken salad.
Patti R.

First time here at this dark and dingy hole in the wall. I ordered a dozen oysters and they were bland. Ordered a southwest chicken salad, and the chicken was tasteless and not edible. It tasted as if I was chewing on gristle. There was globs of some type of dressing that had absolutely no flavor. $55 for one person thrown away. With the tip it was $65. Expensive for subpar food. The only good thing was the wine.

Cup of New England clam chowder

Have to say I'm a bit disappointed as I write this review. I've been in the mood for clam chowder for weeks. Heard this place had "the best soup on Long Island" voted by news 12 viewers. Chowder was very subpar. It wasn't think like most clam chowders. I can honestly say the clam chowder I made myself a few months ago was a lot better. I also had calamari. It was good, but not amazing. Batter was very light. But nothing was special that set this place apart from other places I've had calamari at . Service was eh. Waitress never really came back, took a while to come back to my table to take my order, even though she saw the menu was closed, and it took a while to get the bill. I wouldn't return. Plenty of other seafood places in Bay Shore.

The best key lime pie on Long Island!

I found this immensely popular restaurant umpteen years ago while waiting for the Ocean Bay Park ferry to depart from across the street. Ever since then, I stop by all-year round just to buy some clams and/or flounder. They are the only locally-caught fish that is sold at the restaurant, according to some informative waiters. The clams here are freshly picked from the Great South Bay. The flounder is caught from the Atlantic Ocean. All other fish are delivered from the Delaware Bay. This evening's clam appetizer special, the clam sampler, was good. It was a clam trio: clams casino, clams oreganata and baked clams. I enjoyed the first two but not the latter. The baked clam was chopped up in a mildly seasoned stuffing. Next time, I will just order a dozen top neck clams on the half shell or the clams casino appetizer, which is what I usually get. The Fishburger, which is made from fried flounder, is my favorite fried fish dish. The New England Clam Chowder is tasty and is loaded with clams. It is by far the best chowder that I have eaten since once upon a time when I was a college student in Boston. The key lime pie (hold the whipped cream, please!) is the best one that I have had on Long Island. The graham cracker crust is crunchy throughout, and the filling is soft and tart. All desserts are made on the premises. Staff always provide spectacular customer service. Soda refills are free. Water glasses are replenished continually. The owners, Pat and Lynda, certainly know what they are doing. They greet all their regulars, like myself, by first name. They are also as bubbly and effervescent as the fountain soda that they sell. The soda is indeed bubbly here, more so than most other restaurants that I patronize. The two women present different appetizer and main course specials every day, but every time I come here I order some clams and/or flounder...and a slice of their outstanding key lime pie.

Small spot with some delicious seafood. They also have tables set up outside and you can dine inside if you want. They didn't have cocktails when I was there but they had beer and wine.

Clams casino, Seafood bisque, and Caesar salad
Megan O.

Unfortunately this "hole in the wall" place doesn't have the best service or food. It is very overpriced for the quality of food. The clams were dry, the bisque wasn't flavorful, and the salad was bare. We sat outside and our food was all in to go containers and our wine was in a paper cup. The bartender forgot one part of our order and accidentally added a double order of the expensive clams. I would try another place by the docks.

Cherrystone clams, Blue Point oysters, shrimp poboy!

Incredible food and service! Met one of the owners, Lynda, who was super kind and personable!! The Long Island clam chowder is THE BEST CHOWDER I've ever had! The cherrystone clams and Blue Point oysters were delicious and shucked well!! Such a cute and charming maritime ambiance by the water. Lovely experience! Will definitely be back!!! !!!!

Clams on the half shell

Pretty average place serving good food. Raw clams and clams casino were good. Seafood bisque was tasty but the consistency wasn't to my liking. Almost gelatinous. LI chowder that my wife got was tasty and I'm not a huge fan of the red sauce. I'd pop in again to snack on some raw clams and a beer if I was in the area.

For fantastic soup, this is the place. I do wish it was served hot though. Friendly staff, great location.

We got a table fairly quickly and were greeted by a wonderful waiter Dennis! He was sooo happy and greeted us with a smile! The food was DELICIOUS! The Troffolini was incredible! What made the sauce special was the sweetness of a pair. The baked clams were incredible! Not only did our main dishes look beautiful, but they tasted fantastic! A perfect place to catch up with a friend or go for a date! Thank you to everyone at Americano Pie Bar for their great service!

The place had such a fun, buzzing atmosphere the entire night--lively without being overwhelming, and you can tell everyone there is genuinely having a great time. It set the tone right away. The service matched that energy too--attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed. We kicked things off with the garlic parm wings, and wow... perfectly crispy on the outside, packed with flavor, and honestly hard to stop eating. For mains, we went with the chicken parm vodka and the frutti di mare with a spicy pomodoro sauce. The chicken parm was huge--definitely enough to share or take home--and rich, cheesy, and super satisfying. The frutti di mare was more of a standard portion but loaded with fresh seafood and had the perfect spicy kick. For dessert, we kept the good vibes going with an espresso martini and an affogato--such a perfect way to end the meal. Between the food, atmosphere, and standout service, this spot is a must-visit. Pro tip: Come hungry and don't skip the wings--they're a standout.

I had reached out online and Nikki, the co-owner, was prompt in responding with packages and options. I had shopped around with almost every restaurant in Bay Shore and their packages were the most reasonable. Communication with Nikki was seamless and easy. Booking required an upfront deposit, headcount was due 2 weeks before the event, and rest of the payment was due 1 week beforehand. We had the buffet style and got: -Choice of 3 cold platters: chopped iceberg salad, spinach salad, and orzo salad -Choice of one vegetable: grilled vegetables with balsamic glaze -Choice of starch: garlic mashed potatoes -Choice of pasta with an add-on pasta: penne ala vodka, orecchiette with sausage and broccoli -Choice of 2 hot entrees: bulgogi beef, seafood paella with an add-on salmon -Choice of 1 dessert: seasonal bread pudding The day of, I arrived about an hour early and set up was super easy as the upstairs is already gorgeously decorated for the holidays. The wait staff were already ready and very helpful in helping me bring in items. The sound system had Christmas music on already and they had set up part of the room with extra white linen tables for our white elephant activity and a DIY photobooth (which I brought). The entire event was wonderful and our group had a wonderful time. Every dish we got was INCREDIBLE and so tasty. There isn't a single dish that wasn't perfectly cooked and seasoned. My favorites were the the bulgogi beef, paella, salads, the orecchiette (but I'm a sucker for this dish), and bread pudding. The team was also very kind with dietary restrictions, putting meat/dairy salad toppings off to the side, and making vegetarian and vegan bibimbap bowls. Of note, their korean dishes are SPECTACULAR as Nikki's mom, Helen, is korean! Can't wait for next year's party and many of my team members are now interested in hosting their own parties here! Highly highly recommend!

My go-to are the Ceviche, Calamari, Korean Lettuce Wraps, and the Pan-Seared Scallops. The Ceviche is always amazing! Easily one of the best apps on their menu. The Calamari is well battered and seasoned with sweet chili. I love the Pan Seared Scallops - the figs, grits, and bacon give it a well-rounded taste of sweet and savory. This is one of my favorite seafood spots in Bay Shore (there are others) and one I visit often in the summer time. I recommend popping by if you're in the area, especially when the weather is warm out!

Let's talk about that $25 Thursday girls' night deal a martini, fries, and a Caesar salad? Yes, please. Of course, I couldn't ignore the oyster specials. $1 oysters + discounted varieties ($1 discount on every type of oyster) Dangerous. I ordered a dozen and shamelessly took them all down myself Fresh, briny, and absolutely worth it. My friend went the "balance" route with the grain bowl and added shrimp, which looked just as good as it tasted. Everything we had was on point. Service deserves a shoutout. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and kept everything flowing smoothly without hovering. My martini was perfectly made (strong but smooth), and the overall vibe was lively, energetic, but still perfect for catching up. The vibe really made the night.
