We ordered quite a bunch of appetizers and entrees and did a little tasting of each. Everything was very good and it was a pleasant meal overall. Diner food - this place is seriously for old people who have no taste buds. The fish itself seemed fresh enough but don't expect anything to be cooked well. Fisherman's platter a complete disaster, shrimp boiled down to rubber. Extremely simple 1 ingredient dishes - the baked potato literally was just a potato from the oven - dried out because it wasn't even poked with holes to let the air through. Children employed as servers, atmosphere is a sad husk of something that might have been lively in 1980. Reasonable prices and I am evaluating as a restaurant, not as a fish market. Pretty good food at this hidden gem. Great service and yummy food. Last time we were here we had fried fish which was to die for. Not greasy at all but full of yummyness. Have no complaints here. Solid fresh sea food. I tried the fried flounder and it was satisfyingly good. I don't eat other sea food so I can't voice an opinion on other than fish. My husband and I have been a part of the CatfishAnnie's family for at least 12 years. We absolutely love everything about CatfishAnnie's. We have to say, the food is delicious especially the hamburger and all types of seafood.. Our favorite food is fried shrimp , hamburgers, and my husbands is fisherman platter). All employees are super nice. We always feel so welcomed and they treat us so nicely when we come for a bite to eat. None of the apps tasted like it was fresh or made in house, even if it was, it did not taste or feel like it. We ordered shrimp cocktail, mussels in garlic sauce & calamari as an appetizer. The shrimp was still frozen frozen in the center, the mussels tasted old, the sauce wasn't very good and the calamari as well as everything else was not seasoned at all although fried well but just tasted like oil and squid. During entrees, the fries, blackened catfish and fried fish was good. But the vegetables were not seasoned at all, the crab crakes were deep fried, not lump crab cakes and again, everything was very unseasoned. Not under but not seasoned. Food is simple, good and the prices are fair. I'm posting this today because there was a little confusion with my pickup order and the owner came up, heard the story and just said the food was on the house. I was more than willing to pay for this simple mistake but he made it more than right. The owner is involved in every aspect of the restaurant. Delicious seafood at its finest. Not a place I would necessarily go to as a young person on a date given the older feel but great for families and get togethers. The place is not what it use to be The restaurant appearance is very run down. I was very disappointed tonight. My husband and I went to eat there tonight. As my husband bit into his fried fillet, he found a long piece of hair seared into the batter. I informed our server. The response was they were trying to figure out whoose hair it was. Can you imagine getting a response like that??? We actually thought they would credit us for the meal but noooo. I asked why and was told the sodas were taken off the bill. I was also told that because he ate the other fish in the dish, that he ate most of the meal. Wow I have no word. The manager/owner didn't even come over. This is so sad. Either you get charged twice for your order or he says that your card didn't work. That's when I offered to pay cash. Meantime the charge went through giving a double charge. Ordered Catfish Annie's today for the second time. Once again excellent quality entrees all around. We ordered Seafood Bisque and NE Clam Chowder to start, both soups were very good. There was a generous amount of seafood and clams respectively and great flavor too. For entrees we had the broiled salmon and the grilled swordfish. Had a terrible experience today. Trying to support my local small business. I went into the store today to purchase tuna steaks for a dinner party. The fish did not look like tuna (I am not a fish eater) so I questioned the owner as to what type of tuna it was. I was informed it was yellow fin. I stopped in Catfish Annie's for the first time totally unplanned. So when I checked-in on my phone and saw the 1.5 star rating I was a little worried. And while my experience didn't warrant a request to speak to the manager it also won't be getting top awards. We were a party of 2 and our order consisted of fried calamari appetizer, fisherman's platter - 2 baked clams, 4 scallops, 3 shrimp, filet of sole with a double order of steamed broccoli (I opted for double veggies instead of potato). The other entree was filet of sole stuffed with crab, french fries and veggies. The entrees came with soup or salad and we both picked soup - seafood bisque and Long Island clam chowder. The clam chowder was better than the seafood bisque and the stuffed filet of sole was better than the fisherman's platter. On the platter the scallops and shrimp were a wee bit over cooked for my liking and were a little dry. Calamari appetizer was ok, clean oil and not too greasy, just would have preferred more legs - lots of rings. For dessert we shared the Spumoni Truffle which was pretty good. All and all the experience was ok - from food to service everything was ok. Nothing stood out and nothing to really call me back for more. If I could give them a 2.5 star rating that would be more accurate but because Yelp only allows us to rate in 1 star increments, I'll be positive and give them 3. read more

Our first time here. Showed up around 5pm on a Saturday night or was pretty busy. The kitchen was a little backed up, but they got us seated in a reasonable amount of time. The staff looked a bit young, but they did a great job as a team working the tables. They all had a part in meal, one would seat, another would take our order, clear plates, refill out glasses. Service is great. The food was timed nicely, we never felt rushed, we had time to eat the bread before the appetizer came out, finished that and entrée came out shortly.
