The restaurant is stunning--the entire space is designed to feel like you're wandering through a rustic Mexican village, complete with beautiful trees throughout the dining room that are wrapped in twinkling lights. The atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit, and the live mariachi band was the perfect finishing touch without overpowering the conversation. The food was just as impressive as the ambiance. We started with the Queso Fundido Skillet, which was rich, cheesy, and disappeared from the table almost immediately. For drinks, I tried both the frozen peach margarita and the passion fruit margarita on the rocks, and both were fantastic. The peach was refreshing and perfectly blended, while the passion fruit had a great balance of sweetness and citrus. My dad loved his watermelon margaritas as well. For dinner, I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which were flavorful, comforting, and cooked perfectly. My dad had the shrimp enchiladas and couldn't stop talking about how good they were. My husband ordered the chicken skillet along with a shrimp taco and a fish taco, and every bite was a hit. It's rare for every single dish at the table to impress, but Mesita pulled it off. Of course, we couldn't leave without dessert, and the churros were the perfect ending to an incredible meal--crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served warm. The service was friendly, attentive, and helped make the entire experience even better. Between the gorgeous atmosphere, delicious food, excellent cocktails, live entertainment, and outstanding service, Mesita delivered on every level. This is the kind of place you go for a special night out but end up wanting to return to again and again. I can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu.

We were greeted by our waitress & seated immediately. Our waitress was quite attentive. She was a pleasure to have around, I forget her name but she's a petite woman with long black hair. There were only two other tables occupied at that time and a few ppl at the bar. First impression, a nice cozy restaurant full of bold colorful decor, nice sized bar, maybe 5-6 sections in total. Drinks: the passion fruit margarita was amazing! I love that they used fresh fruit in the drink. My father enjoyed a coconut drink and sister had a spicy margarita. All delicious My nephews did not enjoy the lemonade (not sweet) or sweet tea (also not sweet). Also, there is only one choice for the kids' menu so we ordered chicken fingers and fries for my 5 y/o nephew. FYI per the waitress every dish is cooked to order so be prepared to wait Appetizers: I wanted the cod fish fritters but was informed they were no longer available and will be removed from the menu. We ordered the trio of empanadas which consisted of 1 cheese, 1 chicken, & 1 beef. My hungry teenager devoured the meat ones and I split the cheese one with my nephew. All tasty, no complaints. Dinner: I ordered the passion fruit (wild caught) salmon served over shredded collard greens & yucca mash (small portion but full of flavor sorry forgot to take photo). Every one else ordered a beef meal and were pleased. FYI: gratuity was included on the bill, she deserved every $$. The owners did not come over to greet us but the waitress did an amazing job checking on us non stop and making sure drinks were refilled and plates were removed in a timely manner.

The location might seem small, but it's jammed packed with traditional flavors that are being executed to perfection. Can't believe I waited this long living in the neighborhood (2+yrs) to finally stroll in and experience what some might say is 'Pura Vida' or !Magnífico¡ Upon first visit, I had to try one of their margaritas and at least one 'Street food' menu item, so opted for their Pear Margarita and Birria Empanadas. Let's say Bravo, Brava and Encore to explore more of their menu. The cocktail was totally on point without being overpowering in any way, very balanced and brightly refreshing. The empanadas were deliciously crispy without being greasy, stuffed and sealed perfectly. Then opted to try their Mashed Potatoes Fries and requested a side of their advertised Shishito slaw seen topping another menu item. I loved the way they created and presented both. The fries were a perfect balance of soft but crisped with the creme drizzle and pickled onions. :* The Shishito slaw was a summery, crunch lightly dressed which has me wanting and requesting more the next visit. They should definitely add that as one of their regular listed sides. My husband had a burger with regular slaw and an old fashioned styled cocktail which he mentioned to be exceptional as well. Can't wait to dive deeper into their menu and would highly recommend to others.

We had fried cheese which was described as "Crispy, Halloumi-Style Queso Freir, Topped with Tomato, Jalapeños, & Hot Agave." It was good, but not "blow me away" good. It came with 4 pieces, so not really enough to share with a large group. For my tacos I had the crispy pumpkin, sesame chicken and spicy pork. Out of the 3, the crispy pumpkin was my favorite. The sesame chicken and spicy pork were "basic" speciality tacos and nothing about them really set them apart from other establishments offering the same. The crispy pumpkin though...so unique and had great flavor. My fiancé had Ruby's signature bowl and added chorizo. He enjoyed it and it was a very generous portion. Service was decent.
