I was pleasantly surprised with Rustic Root and how fresh the food is. It is very clean and the service is amazing. I loved the artichoke dish so much. The montauk tuna was seriously fresh and delicious. The Mediterranean salad was out of this world. It's conveniently located in Woodbury and the prices are great. Would totally recommend it!

I've had Rustic Root on my bookmark probably for about seven years, but never had a chance to dine there. I was glad to finally check it out. I really enjoyed the look and vibe of the restaurant. And the food was good as expected. We shared the Crispy Artichokes, which I thought was excellent. The chili aioli sauce combined with the artichokes perfectly. For my entree, I had the Scallops. The presentation was good, but I felt like the dish lacked a little bit of flavor. It was a little on the bland side. We also had a couple of cocktails that I thought were really good - the Lavender Haze and the Turn the Beat Around. I recommend both. We ended the night with the Apple Crips dessert, which we both enjoyed.

Wanted to try this place for a while now but always find myself going to the grocery store next to it. Brunch was really good! The menu is American but fusion with cool elements from other cuisines and with good ingredients and definitely vegetarian and vegan friendly. Got a grass fed beef burger, it was juicy and cooked nicely medium. The fries were hot and crispy. We got two apps: a Korean chicken wings with some creamy cilantro sauce, and a pumpkin rice ball with some chipotle mayo. Both sauces were amazing and went well with the burger as well. I would suggest them serve that with the burger. Portions were sizable and prices reasonable. Will be back to try other items!

Stopped by Rustic Root for brunch with my friend. I tried their espresso and my friend ordered a pink drink both were good, balanced, and well-crafted. The espresso drink was a perfect way to open my eyes I was sleepy and it totally woke me up. The ricotta toast and the egg sandwich with side of home fries were good and filling. I really liked the home fries but the egg sandwich was really just eggs on a bun but I expected an actual sandwich. Service was good as our host was attentive, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable. The restaurant itself is pretty inside without being overly fussy. One of the best perks was plenty of parking, which you know I love it as I don't like the hassle of finding a spot. I want to try their dinner menu will be back for more next time.

We were in the neighborhood and this came up on Yelp as a sponsored result. It had great reviews so we thought we would try it. This restaurant is located in the corner of a strip mall. The inside is a decent size and has rustic charm. There are also tables outside if you would prefer. We were seated upon arrival and were given water right away. A server came over within minutes to take our drink order and gave us a few more minutes to look over the menu. She was very attentive. Our food came out promptly and was delicious. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant

The ambiance of farm to table and the decor were amazing. Even more so was the food. Great seasonal choices and the flavor profile was amazing especially for the French onion soup. Soooo good! Great place for date nights.

Arrived on a Saturday 12pm and was surprised with how empty the restaurant was because of all of their great reviews. Staff was all very pleasant from hostess to our waitress. The food was good but not great. Nothing to return to. The toast with whipped cheese was very good and we got biscuit and gravy. The gravy wasn't hot it was barely warm, not as flavorful as I'd like. Biscuits were quite good. Overall a decent meal but nothing I'll drive over there for

I really wanted to love Rustic Root -- but overall, it missed the mark for me. I was visiting my sister and brother-in-law on Long Island, and we landed on Rustic Root based on his recommendation. It's tucked into a strip mall (parking was easy, which is always a plus), and the interior is actually quite charming. I especially loved the rolling pin dividers -- such a fun design touch. That said, the vibe felt a little off. The lighting was a bit too bright for a dinner setting, and since it wasn't very busy, the space lacked energy. Service was friendly and cordial, but definitely inconsistent. There were long stretches where we felt forgotten -- not a huge issue when you're catching up with family, but still something you notice. Now for the food, which was the biggest letdown of the evening. We started with the Crispy Artichokes -- lemon & Calabrian chili aioli -- and these were easily the highlight of the meal. The breading was light and crisp, and the aioli had just the right kick. I'd absolutely order those again. We also shared the Cornbread with maple syrup and Amagansett sea salt. I've spent a fair amount of time in the South, so I've become a bit of a cornbread snob. This version leaned dry and cakey, and I didn't get much maple flavor from the butter. Just okay. My sister went with the Crispy Organic Chicken Milanese with burrata, cherry tomatoes, arugula, and aged balsamic. It looked good on paper but was underwhelming in execution. The chicken was a little dry, and while her expectations were shaped by another local favorite where she regularly orders this dish, she gave it a fair shot -- and still wasn't a fan. Now, my entree -- the Roasted Local Cauliflower -- was a real miss. I genuinely love vegetables and am a big fan of well-executed vegetarian and vegan dishes, so I had high hopes. The dish came with mushrooms, farro, and a maple sherry reduction. The farro and mushrooms had solid flavor (though I'd have loved a better mix of mushrooms). But the cauliflower itself was a letdown. It arrived as one large chunk -- maybe even a full head -- and didn't seem truly roasted. The interior was wet and soft, while the exterior had minimal browning, except for a burned patch. It honestly felt like it had been boiled and then tossed in the oven for a quick char. I would have preferred it cut into smaller florets for a proper roast -- or even better, served as a cauliflower steak for more even cooking and better texture. On the bright side, my cocktail -- the Lust for Life (tequila, mezcal, passionfruit, lime, and a Tajín rim) -- was another standout. Balanced, refreshing, and creative. I enjoyed it, though not quite enough to order a second round or return just for the drinks. All in all, Rustic Root has style and potential, but the food and service didn't quite come together. I really hoped this would be a hit -- but for me, it fell short.

This restaurant is great! My husband and I did date night here tonight and we were really happy with our experience. The service was kind and attentive. The ambiance is really nice, recommend getting a booth if you can. My November pineapple tequila cocktail was great and my husband really enjoyed his old fashioned. The filet was cooked perfectly medium and the sauce really flavorful and tasty. The mashed potatoes weren't as garlicky as we were hoping they would be but still really good. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The branzino Calabrian chile sauce was awesome! The branzino was perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The scalloped potatoes and zucchini were also particularly good. The apple bread pudding was really flavorful particularly with the butterscotch in the cream and the portion large. Great time! Definitely plan on going back again to try different things (though what we had was great!)

2.5 I really wanted to like this place but maybe they excel at brunches. Went last night and had one of the worst - if not the worst- pasta dishes I've had in my life. How do you mess up pasta? It was literally pasta with zucchini tomatoes and shrimp. No flavor whatsoever. And even asked for salt and pepper to save it. Just bland and in a pool of water. Shrimp seemed overcooked. I do not believe in sending dishes back or sounding like a Karen, but the manager (I'm assuming) did eye my plate a couple of times and said nothing. Waitress asked to box my almost full plate but said nothing. If anyone from the restaurant reads these reviews I would ask them to take that item off menu it was so bad. Or at least have the cook taste it before they serve it. The drinks ($15) were very good at least and named after songs. My partner's streak frites were good. Wish I had ordered that. Would not be back unfortunately.

The restaurant itself is stunning, beautiful design, good music, and an upscale bar that transports you far from the reality of being in a strip mall on Jericho Turnpike. The ambiance feels high end and thoughtfully curated. However, a few details reminded us we were still in a strip mall. Small but important things that could easily make or break this place. The bartender, who essentially represents the restaurant and sets the tone , the "sensei" of the establishment, so to speak. He was friendly and kind, but his expertise in cocktails and culinary knowledge was lacking. After our first cocktail, I made it clear that I dislike sweet drinks or wines. He then recommended a Riesling which is known for being a sweet, semi-dessert wine -- which made me question his understanding of the menu. He seemed young and inexperienced, though well-intentioned. The food was a mixed experience. The raw bar appetizers were excellent, and both the lobster udon pasta and spaghetti were delicious! Unfortunately, the lamb chops were a complete miss. We ordered them medium rare, as they arrived so..they were looking and tasting boiled, with no sear, no crust, and a chewy texture. Halfway through my second glass of wine, the bartender refilled it without asking. I assumed it might be on the house, tipping me off. As it wasn't a full glass of wine. When the bill came, I saw I had been charged for a full glass. He never asked if I wanted another; he simply refilled it and added it to the check. That's an amateur. We also received a complimentary glass of champagne (which we noticed was being served to all omakase guests), though the bartender presented it as though it were a personal gesture from him. His words were "these last two rounds were on me". Meanwhile, it was just a 2 glasses of champagne.. my husband and I ordered 3 drinks each, one of which I was poured and did not ask for. Until the service matches the sophistication of the space, this restaurant will struggle to keep diners coming back.

This menu is available until 6 pm during the week. Bartender was a doll and gave me the skinny on all her favorites for both the happy hour and regular menus. Bar seats maybe 15 people and a tv above will keep a solo flyer busy for a bit. Once my buddy arrived, we were seated in the dining room toward the back. A great space able to seat many patrons. Larger groups can easily be accommodated. Our server Zack was awesome and came by just often enough. He also did a great job spacing out our courses so as not to overload our table. We started with soup and then had one of the starts of the evening- sliced seared tuna. This was a reco from the earlier mentioned bartender and it was a super home run. So were the Bang Bang Tacos. Cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious, this was an incredible burger and I could have taken at least half home. I didn't because it was so good and I felt stuffed when it was finished. We didn't stop there though - the dessert menu looked awesome and I wasn't going to miss it. We both started with the New England Clam Chowder and it was perfectly seasoned and had a nice amount of clams, potato and croutons for texture. Wonderfully flavorful and it was good portion. We absolutely loved the food, portions were huge and flavors were absolutely top notch. We managed to get so full from off the entrees that we managed to have some leftovers for our kids to enjoy back at home. Of course we had to leave some room for desert.
