I really enjoyed my dinner here! I appreciate that the folks working here asked if we were celebrating a special occasion (the hostess and our server asked). The hostess was super friendly but our server was a bit brisk -- he didn't make eye contact when speaking with us and spoke quickly like he was in a rush. We were seated outdoors with a lovely view of the sunset and the water. I was worried about mosquitoes but thankfully didn't get bit at all. Our server did warn us that entrees would take 45 minutes, I was surprised but glad he warned us so we could make sure we got appetizers to help with the wait. We ended up ordering: - Tomato & Onion Salad (5/5) I was skeptical but this ended up being so tasty. - Filet Mignon (3/5) This was small and didn't taste that good in my opinion. The steak sauce was delicious though. - Lobster Roll (5/5) Great portion size. I came here on Friday night of Labor Day weekend, and unfortunately, I found the experience to be extremely underwhelming. In my opinion, this restaurant is very overrated, especially considering the prices. The cost does not seem to match the quality of the food, the service, or even the overall ambiance. I actually came here last year during Restaurant Week and had a great experience, so I was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, my second visit was a completely different experience. For the prices they charge, I think the restaurant could really benefit from some updating and renovations. The space feels extremely outdated, including the carpeting, which looks like it may have been there since the restaurant first opened. The carpet also seemed to need a thorough cleaning, as every so often there was an unpleasant odor that I couldn't quite identify. We started with the shrimp and lobster wontons and a spicy tuna roll. Both were fresh and enjoyable. For our entrees, we ordered a filet mignon, a ribeye, and two sides--creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. both pieces were asked for "medium" and they were not medium. Unfortunately, the mashed potatoes had virtually no flavor, and the ribeye was extremely bland & tough. It lacked seasoning and any noticeable grill or char, which was disappointing for a steak at this price point. The service was also frustrating. I ordered a dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives and received regular olives instead. We were not in any rush to finish our meal and would occasionally put our forks down to take a break, but we were repeatedly asked if we were finished. One busser came over, then another shortly after, and then another. By the end of the meal, we must have been asked whether we were done close to ten times. It made the experience feel rushed and took away from what should have been a relaxed dinner. Also - dessert menu has Briermere pie for $18 a slice, when the entire pie from Briermere is like $40. i mean seriously? I truly expected more, especially because my first experience here was so enjoyable. I'm not sure what changed in the past year, but unfortunately, this visit did not live up to my expectations. At this price point, an average meal, outdated atmosphere, and inconsistent service simply aren't acceptable to me. I left feeling that the experience did not justify the hefty bill. read more

At that price point, you expect the food, service, and overall experience to be exceptional. Unfortunately, none of it was. We were also celebrating a birthday, which the restaurant knew about in advance, yet there was absolutely no acknowledgment of it. Not even a small gesture. Service throughout the evening was average and certainly not what you would expect from a restaurant charging these prices. Prime has an incredible waterfront location, but it feels like they've become far too reliant on the view while allowing the food, service, and attention to detail to fall behind. Prime Steakhouse exceeded every expectation and gave us an anniversary dinner we'll always remember. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt special. The hostess asked if we were celebrating anything, and when we told her it was our anniversary, she surprised us with a handwritten card waiting at our table that read, "Happy Anniversary! Thank you for celebrating your milestone with us." It was such a thoughtful gesture that immediately made us feel genuinely welcomed. The waterfront setting is absolutely stunning. We timed our reservation perfectly for sunset, and between the sailboats, glowing sky, and beautifully lit trees, it felt like something out of a movie. The outdoor patio is one of the most beautiful dining settings I've experienced on Long Island. We started with the crab cake, which was packed with fresh lump crab and lightly seasoned so the quality of the seafood really shined. The crispy exterior paired perfectly with the creamy remoulade. Every bite was delicious. The service was attentive, friendly, and never rushed. Our server made sure everything was perfect throughout the evening, and every staff member we encountered helped make our celebration feel special. It's rare to find a restaurant that combines exceptional food, incredible views, outstanding service, and genuine hospitality so effortlessly. Prime Steakhouse delivered on all of it. Service here was amazing and very thoughtful. Food was also very good and priced accordingly. Crudo was spicier than I expected but very fresh, sesame potato bread was a bit too toasty for me. It got hard right away. Japanese Wagyu 10oz was perfect for sharing with another entree with just two of us eating and a side of grilled asparagus. They have a healthy portion but it could've used a bit more salt. It's a very romantic upscale coastal vibe and has numerous seating options. Inside, enclosed porch or outdoors. Server Jaime was great, and the sides were good. But the steak was a disaster. If you're going to charge $80 for 10 ounces of "dry-aged" New York strip, it shouldn't taste like some choice-grade shit I lightly seared from King Kullen. It was incredibly chewy, with no intramuscular fat, a light sear, and absolutely zero of the beefy intensity you'd expect from dry-aged steak. I cooked better shit as a 24-year-old bachelor buying $4 steaks from King Kullen. With almost no effort and $20, I would have destroyed this. Do better, especially if you're going to charge what you do. See the attached photo. It looks like tuna, but that's the steak. Amazing views. Great staff. Delicious food. What more can you ask for? I absolutely loved this restaurant but I love any location on the water. The food was really good, everything from their sushi rolls, to entrees, appetizers and sides. We did skip on dessert because we were absolutely stuffed but I am sure it would have been great. Service (4/5): Understanding that the restaurant was extremely busy this day, we did not get the best service. They forgot to give us the table bread which we had to ask for after our appetizers came. They knew we were sharing everything so it was nice that they had pre-sliced everything and provided us sharing plates during the meal. Food (4/5): This is review is specific for their Mother's Day fixed prix menu ($125/pp which btw is $115 for Father's day 2026). Sad to say overall, the price point was not worth the food we received, as it was way overpriced. Potato bread (6/5): This is one of the best table bread I've ever had--the softness and flavors are so good that I would sacrifice stomach space for 5 servings of this! Use the leftover butter for your steaks! Blue Point Oysters (5/5): Super fresh! Delicious Lobster shrimp wontons (4/5): Wonderful presentation just okay on flavor. Lukewarm upon serving. Red Roof Roll (4/5): The portion of fish was pretty generous! Tasted fresh as well. They were out of the 38oz porterhouse for 2 by 7p. New York Strip Steak (4/5): Cooked as requested, however not enough fat to make it melt in your mouth as the cuts were a bit too tough. The dry aged taste was great. Filet Mignon (4/5): I don't think this piece was as good as I remember. It needed their house steak sauce to give the dish any flavor. Pork Tenderloin with Carrot Puree sauce (2/5): Each piece was tough, not much flavor to it, carrot sauce did not give it any more flavor. Had a delicious Monday night dinner for Long Island restaurant week. We were sat near a beautiful fireplace. The ambience was amazing and it must be a great spot in the summer. My boyfriend ordered the spicy roll, filet mignon, and creme brulee. He said everything was good, but the steak had too much peppercorn seasoning on the outside which made it tough to enjoy the flavor. I got the gnocchi, a vegetarian butternut squash entree and a pear apple crumble. I enjoyed the gnocchi immensely as well as the crumble. The butternut squash was delicious but pretty simple and I wish there had been more veggie options. Overall I loved the experience and our waiter was fantastic as well. read more

Very disappointing visit to Prime on 8-23-26. Prime may be passed its prime. Ordered the 38 oz porterhouse for two medium rare and was really surprised that it literally had zero flavor and sort of was grainy and a bit dry. Our servers Jackie and Eric were great, professional and attentive so that wasn't the issue. The manager even came over and checked on us and I was on a date so I didn't have the heart to say anything at that point so the service here is very good. The issue was at $175 when you include the sides and a few drinks the bill comes to $412 before a tip for two people so yoy would really expect an incredible steak. Without being dramatic, I'm literally going to say that the prime rib at Texas roadhouse and the Outback tastes better than this particular experience at Prime. Again, literally zero flavor and the texture was nothing special and definitely not worth $175 then. Not sure what went wrong in the kitchen, but I've been hearing from other people that they've also had very inconsistent experiences here. There are a lot of restaurants named Prime, this review is for Prime in Huntington, NY. I've enjoyed this establishment each and every time I've come. The service is always fantastic (9.8/10), the staff is very attentive and friendly. The view is lovely (9.5/10) as the restaurant sits on the sound with lots of boats that dock in this area. The food was okay (7.5/10) I had the iceberg wedge as my starter (9/10), next we shared a porterhouse for 2 (6/10) which could have used a bit more seasoning, thank goodness it came with a house made steak sauce which was DELICIOUS (I hated to use it because the meat's flavor should stand alone). I also had asparagus that was over cooked (5/10) and Mac n cheese that was very creamy (8/10). We ended dinner with the 7-layer chocolate cake from Juniors (10/10). read more

I honestly don't know if I will ever come back but I would like for you to at least look and do your review and probably address what is needed. This is what we come for which is experience. I have been a regular customer of Prime for a long time and have eaten here more than 35 times, often bringing with me family members, friends and business associates. I do not enjoy having to leave this review. My most recent visit with a group of seven, in fact, was one of the most frustrating restaurant experiences I have ever had on Long Island. Our afternoon started at the bar. Before our table was ready, I observed that there were inconsistent rules concerning the management of bar tabs. The guest who was ahead of us could transfer her bar tab to her table without any problem, but when I attempted to do the same, I was told that I had to settle my bill right away. Although I realize that rules must exist, the fact that they were applied in an inconsistent manner gave a bad impression. The problem carried over to our seating. I had booked well in advance and had also phoned the day before, asking specifically for a table under the pergola so that we could have a view of the waterfront. However, the seven of us were placed right next to a loud bus station. Since I am hearing impaired in one ear, the constant noise of the dishes made it almost impossible for us to carry on a conversation. When I politely asked the waitress if we could be moved to one of the several open tables by the water, we were instead assigned to another table in the back corner. The prime waterfront tables which I had enquired about stayed entirely empty throughout our meal. This is the meaning of coming to a waterfront property to enjoy the view and have a great meal with great company. In the end, the service at the table was rather hurried and unkind. We had to ask the staff multiple times for simple things such as utensils and side plates, and at one time I had to adjust the umbrella myself because there weren't any staff members that came our area. Even though our party had ordered appetizers and nearly a dozen drinks, our waiter came back to us in an unnecessarily aggressive and pushy manner, asking us if we were ready to order our main courses, even going as far as threatening us with withholding food if we didn't place our order. this is the way it felt in mannerisms of tone and conversation. That evening I hosted four other business owners and a well-known guest, and all of us were left amazed and dumbfounded at the poor standard of hospitality. It is deeply disheartening to have gone from being a devoted supporter of this venue to being treated in such a careless manner. I hope that the management takes my experience seriously so that they may restore the level of service which this venue once enjoyed. read more

A group of us went for a friend's birthday. I have food intolerances. I called ahead to make sure they could accommodate such off the brunch menu. I was told Jess.. when ordering the server knew there was a person with food allergy of vegetarian and someone with food intolerance. They only accommodated the food allergy.. I asked for egg whites, but the chef couldn't be bothered to separate the yolks from the eggs so we spent three hours there and I could not eat one thing. Horrible. We had a reservation at 9:30 on New Year's Eve. We waited about a half hour before we were seated. We were seated out back in the glass room. It looks like this room would be open doors in the nicer weather. The outside was lit up very nicely and everyone was very friendly. The wait staff was amazing and very accommodating. There was a big thunder and lightning storm with torrential rain. The room started to leak from the doors across the floors. There were also a number of leaks coming from the ceiling. The table next to us got soaked due to a leak right over their table. The food was good. The ambiance was nice until the water started rushing in from the floors and the ceiling. For the amount of money charged for this night, we thought we would at the very least be dry. We would like to try it again another time of year and with no rain. Had a disappointing experience at Prime for lunch. My wife ordered her steak medium well and it came out burnt. It was so beyond well done that it was inedible. It took the waiter 20 minutes to come by after we got our meal to check in on us, so by the time we were able to say anything we had to go and couldn't stay for the steak to be redone. Then after mentioning we had to go because we were late for an appointment, the waiter still took 10 minutes to bring the check. We ended up having to go up to the front to pay the bill. The manager took the steak off the check after seeing it, but for an $80 filet, the steak should be cooked to the proper temperature the first time. Also, I would have ordered another drink with my meal if I had the chance, but the waiter didn't come by and ask until well after I finished my meal. read more

Came for lunch with 3 of us. Two meals were fine, but the 3rd steak was ordered Medium Rare and was very well done. The waiter was very good, noticed and apologized immediately and offered to replace it or change the entree out. We declined, as it had taken nearly 40 minutes to get our lunch at that point. The manager then came out and said she wished we had sent it back earlier. It was sent back immediately after the waiter dropped and came back to check on us; my fellow diner had eaten a piece or so, I was two bites into my burger. When we explained it had gone back immediately, she said there were only 4 pieces of steak left. At that point, I was surprised she could stand there, with her pants aflame, like that. If her pants had actually been on fire, instead of only metaphorically, I don't know that I'd have gone out of my way to procure water. Unnecessarily rude, and wildly inappropriate at this price point. Didn't complain about it at the time, but the table was also dirty; shoe print on my tablecloth, not super appetizing. This was my second and final visit. Hard pass. Lots of other better choices in the area. read more

Def recommend to sit indoors for lunch during the summer and outdoors for dinner. All in all it was a nice romantic vibe. It consisted of crabmeat salad, lobster salad, some home made chips, sides of egg whites, egg yolks, caviar and half a bottle of champagne. Delish! 10/10 Also ordered app of crabcakes - 10/10 My Tellers Ribeye was cooked to perfection. 40oz of juicy meat. It was huge. Needless to say I doggy bagged that. Service was very professional. Decided to check out Prime during lunch and it was fabulous. We chose to sit outside and enjoyed the $29 pre fixe lunch that they offer during the week. Our waiter was attentive and the ambiance was perfect. Was nervous about bringing our kids but they enjoyed themselves and it was a bit more laid back outside (and also not busy). My burger was perfection and the lemoncello spritz was the perfect drink for the occasion. We can't leave without having a slice of the Bremiere pie! This time it was the blueberry cream. Water side view can not be beaten. Food was as expected. We had the lamb, a porterhouse , and some of us had the power lunch special. Crab cake was exceptional. However the service as spotty and often lacking. It's not from a shortage as it was well staffed. Plenty of wait staff running around. At various junctures, the service was no where to be found. No one asked if we wanted more drinks. No one checked how our lamb or steak came out. our table was cleared half way and then the staff disappeared again. We had to physically track down our waiter to get the table cleared so we can order dessert. At this point - we simply surrendered . We just wanted to get out. I will never come back again. The food is not so exceptional that I can't find another Long Island location with a water view. I have had business dinners there before and usually left with a great impression.
