We finally made a visit to Joey's for dinner and it was worth the wait. We were greeted by a friendly hostess. Our server John promptly came over to welcome us with a big smile and continued his friendly, knowledgeable and attentive service throughout the meal. We started with delicious cocktails. For an appetizer we had the Manila clams scampi style and it was delicious. The clams were tender, the sauce was so flavorful and the warm bread sopped up the sauce perfectly. For entrees we had the steak and cake which is grilled bison filet and a crab cake served with roasted potatoes and spinach. The bison was cooked exactly how we ordered it, medium rare. It was so tender and a nice change from a beef filet. The crab cake was full of lump crab meat. We had the the special, Prawns with heads on (they gave the choice of heads off but all the flavor is with heads on) with a corn risotto with peas, mushrooms and tomatoes that was heavenly. We didn't have dessert but we will next time because I can't stop thinking about the Bourbon pecan pie with vanilla gelato that I passed up. Joey's lives up to its name, the flavors are bold. I'm happy I got to meet Joey and look forward to coming back and bringing friends and family!!

My friend and I heard great reviews about Joey's so we had to go try it. The place was packed on a Thursday night. We sat down and found out that it was ladies night with a choice of a pre fixed menu. We chose the ladies night menu and we were glad we did. Our salads were fresh and delicious. We had lobster clams for our appetizers and shrimp lemoncello for our main courses. Everything came out delicious. Our waiter couldn't have been more accommodating and professional. The plus side was I saw local people eating there that I hadn't seen for years. We finished our meals off with pistachio tartuffo which was delicious. Joeys is definately a restaurant that you should try.

One of the better meals we have had in some time! Have been wanting to try this place for a while now and we finally made it, 6:30 reservation and seated as soon as we walked in. Great service from John, attentive and informative from the menu to drinks to special requests. For the older locals, they have "Lawson Pup" style steak tidbits on the menu and they were outstanding, if a bit small in size. Bucatini carbonara was outstanding as was the antipasta salad and the calamari. The owner Joe came over and we asked what his favorite dish was, he said the Beggar's Purse, we told him we were going to get that but had to get the tidbits, he brought us the Beggar's Purse on the house just to try! That is a great way to build your business.............and they were great! My only complaint is the noise, we had to shout to speak to each other, the place is extremely loud but worth it. The pictures are not my best, we started eating! We'll be back, we actually already made a reservation!

Joey's Bold Flavors is exactly that--bold, delicious, and absolutely unforgettable. Located on in Oceanside, this gem serves up Italian and American dishes that'll make you wonder why you ever settled for anything less. The antipasto salad? A masterpiece. The shrimp dish and steak tidbits were pure perfection--juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. let's not forget dessert empanadas filled with warm Nutella to die for!! As for the service, it's nothing short of stellar. If you haven't gone yet it's a must go ASAP!

C Amazing dinner at Joey's Bold Flavors in Oceanside. Great food service and drinks. Lots of choices for the adventurious eaters like me or for the less adventurous who just like tasty food. The chopped antipasto salad was enough for two couples, but we also shared an amazing non traditional fried calarmari. There was a traditional option as well. The owner recomended the bison filet minion paired with a perfectly cooked crab cake which was absoultely delicious. My spouse and a friend had shrimps and scallops over linguini with a flavorful light red sauce which they both loved. Another friend had the ribs which he loved. The caupachino along with a shared different but decadent Tarimuso was enjoyed by all. We dinned for almost two hours. At least on a Saturday reservations are a must. Highly recomenrded. We wll return.

Their doors will close on Sunday, July 26th 2026 to begin the transformation. I had to return on Friday, July 24th for the last official Happy Hour! It was bittersweet seeing the staff and the return of my favorite bartender Jay. The placed was packed with patrons like me who wanted to share memories of many good times spent here. The atmosphere and music was festive and the attitudes were as lively as the spirits being poured! In speaking with the staff, their enthusiasm for what lies ahead was infectious! We discussed this new journey and our anticipation of reuniting again to enjoy what the new aesthetic and menu will hold. We looked at some reviews and my uncle had eaten there a number of years ago and said the food was delicious. Was he right. I think it was undersold. Walking in, we were greeted immediately by a very nice hostess. When my wife said our name, the hostess asked whose birthday it was and wished me a very happy birthday. The floor is made of beautiful French tiles. There are the old looking mirrors that you think of when you imagine a French restaurant. We ordered some cocktails and wine. Everything was delicious. I didn't get pics of the appetizers. We ordered the mussels with white wine and garlic, hummus and Brussels sprouts. All were really good. The mussels were some of the best I have ever had. Sweet, fresh mussels, garlicky sauce. So good. There were 7 of us and everyone got something different. Everyone absolutely loved what they had. My mom's scallops were sweet, tender and flavorful. The pork chop was unbelievable. They changed the menu so I don't have the description. Might have been French onion soup. Sooo good. My beef Wellington was delicious. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, crusted in pistachios and came with greens and au gratin potatoes. Wow. The duck was melt in your mouth tender. We had 4 desserts to share. Chocolate mousse, pecan tart, Nutella crepes and apple bread pudding. They were all absolutely delicious. From the food to the service, everything was top notch. Our waiter and server assistant were great. It was pretty bright and the assistant closed the drapes. The waiter also noticed the table wobbled a tiny bit. He called over the assistant who fixed it immediately. No one had said a word. I can't wait to go back and try more!

A few minutes later, two couples who are regulars arrived & sat at the bar near me. They told me that very soon I'll see the place packed with the usual Friday customers, and they were right! It was nice being included in conversation as if I was a regular along with them. The bartender greeted me promptly & gave me a drink & food menu. I ordered two lychee blossom drinks which I've had before, if I see a lychee drink on the menu I will usually go with that drink. Was given bread along with a white sauce that tasted good, one of the couples passed their marinara dish for me to try my bread with & that was good as well. I ordered meatballs from the appetizer menu to bring home, they were good as always. I knew they had different specials on different days and was hoping there was a happy hour menu at the bar, but I did not see any specials for Fridays.

We came in on a Friday night and had a great time. The vibe and decor is Tuscan with lots of brick and wood around giving a warm feeling. Adding to the warm feeling was the friendly staff - the hostess gave us a 4 top despite us only being 2. They must have knew how much food we were going to order haha. We were given bread with an interesting spread that was tasty, but still not sure what it was exactly. Ordered some red wines. We looked over the menu to decide on some dishes to share. Here's the run down: CARCIOFO BRASATE CON BURRATA BRAISED BABY ARTICHOKES, WITH PISTACHIO PESTO AND BURRATA This was really enjoyable and with creamy burrata and delicious pistachio pesto that was perfect with the tender baby artichokes PARMIGIANA DI MELANZANA Eggplant meatballs were so good with so much flavor - didn't miss the meat at all. Fantastic sauce with this as well. BIETOLA & FUNGHI salad ROASTED RED BEET, MARINATED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS, ORGANIC BABY ARUGULA, GOAT CHEESE, WHITE BALSAMIC VINEGAR DRESSING The presentation of this dish was impressive with circles of beets acting as bed for the salad. It was different from the usual chunks of beets in most salads. I enjoyed this salad SPAGHETTI AL LIMONE IMPORTED ORGANIC SPAGHETTI, MEYER LEMON, PARMIGGIANO, FRESH BASIL We asked the kitchen to split this dish for us and they accommodated. The cheesy lemony pasta was perfect and paired well with spicy shrimp dish we ordered. GAMBERI UBRIACATI WILD BLUE SHRIMP, SWEET CHERRY TOMATOES, PANCETTA, CORN, CRISPY BREAD, RED PEPPER FLAKES These shrimps were really incredibly tasty - I usually don't order shrimp dishes in restaurants because they usually give a bit of chlorinated taste. Not here. The sauce was spicy with the pancetta and corn adding sweetness. For dessert we shared the brownie topped with pistachio gelato. The brownie was unremarkable, but the gelato was good. The espressos were perfectly made. The place was busy all night with a few open tables - the service encouraged us to sit allowing us to really enjoy our night. A fantastic experience.

We went the first time for restaurant week and ordered: Zucchini chips: large portion, was a good start! could have used salt but that's easy enough for us to add. Whipped ricotta crostini: perhaps because of restaurant week the portion was much smaller than in photos and of the 3 crostini, 1 was badly burnt and the other 2 must have sat in the pass for a bit too long as they were soggy. Branzino: this was an uncharge on the restaurant week menu, the fish portion was large and cooked well but it was very unseasoned, there was no carb, just over broccolini, which was surprising there wasn't a grain, potato, anything given the upcharge. Seafood linguini: this was the most disappointing because it doesn't have a description on the menu but the name matches the 'linguine al mare'. It's an identical dish except they omit the scallops without noting that on the menu, it was very bland, didn't come with lemon, were 2 slices of pickled chili which were great when you got them but more were needed. Personally, I would go for drinks and vibes - albeit the drinks are expensive, cocktails are $19.
