Visiting here over 35 years, have yet to experience a bad meal. We always have at least 1 special and 1 classic menu option. The staff is efficient and the atmosphere is welcoming. Perfect location for intimate family dinners, grabbing a drink with friends or a special celebratory location. It's always a unanimous decision amongst family and friends to eat and drink at the Brick!

We had a reservation, but placed was packed so we had to wait past our reservation time, BUT, both the bartender and Owner/Host -?(Mark) were very attentive while we had to wait. When you sit down @ your table they serve complimentary Chips w/minced Chop meat & onion, absolutely delicious. We ordered a Caesar's salad to split and something about the dressing that made it not right. It was tangy and too creamy, I don't recommend it. For dinner we ordered the Filet Mignon tidbits and Chicken tidbits. The Filet Mignon tidbits were cooked PERFECT, excellent dish. The Chicken tidbits were very good, but once you bite into the Filet Mignon tidbits, you forget about the Chicken tidbits, Ha! Great waitress which is SO IMPORTANT. Not once did we feel rushed being the place was packed and probably wanted our table. We'll be back, probably for Sauerbraten night.

Wonderful local spot for great food and drinks! My friend and I came for dinner and drinks before seeing a friend play in a band here. The drinks were strong and perfect. There was a bit of a wait for our table and the bar was super crowded but every was so nice and friendly so it was all good! When we did sit down we ordered the pretzel appetizer and it was so good!! The cheese sauce was spicy but the perfect kind of spicy and the mustard sauce tasted like a cross between mustard and ranch and it was great!! For dinner my friend and I split the chicken tidbits sandwich and the French onion soup burger. The chicken sandwich was great, but, the burger was UNBELIEVABLE! It was perfectly cooked, smothered in cheese and the onions were caramelized and full of flavor. Right then and there we made plans to come back again so we could each have our own. I really love this place (reminiscent of one of my other favorite local spots- Corner Galley in Massapequa) and the only reason it's 4 starts instead of 5 is because the service was pretty awful. Now, it was insanely crowded and it looked like they were understaffed so I understand, but every time we needed something we had to flag her down. She never bothered to come check on us. It took a good 30 minutes from getting our appetizer until we were able to get her attention to even just order our dinner. Regardless, we still had a great meal and will be back again for that amazing burger!

    Warm & welcoming interior.

Our first time visiting Maier's Brick Cafe and it was wonderfully delightful. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, the food is plentiful and delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient. Our experience exceeded every expectation, and we cannot wait to return for another of the restaurant's specials.

Great food and atmosphere! Definitely a neighborhood restaurant where everybody knows each other! Drinks were made to perfection and the food was really fantastic! My friend and I had the chicken tidbits with waffle fries and the french onion burger. The burger was really the shining star of the meal! We started off with a giant pretzel and the cheese sauce was awesome and spicy! Definitely make reservations if you're coming on a Friday or Saturday. We had to wait about 25 minutes for a table without a reservation. My one tiny complaint would be the service. Not the fastest service and very understaffed for a Saturday night. The waitresses and hostesses were super friendly and nice though so we will definitely be back!!

Mediocre food & a rowdy, unpleasant atmosphere. Many items were over-priced for a neighborhood dive.

A few minutes later, two couples who are regulars arrived & sat at the bar near me. They told me that very soon I'll see the place packed with the usual Friday customers, and they were right! It was nice being included in conversation as if I was a regular along with them. The bartender greeted me promptly & gave me a drink & food menu. I ordered two lychee blossom drinks which I've had before, if I see a lychee drink on the menu I will usually go with that drink. Was given bread along with a white sauce that tasted good, one of the couples passed their marinara dish for me to try my bread with & that was good as well. I ordered meatballs from the appetizer menu to bring home, they were good as always. I knew they had different specials on different days and was hoping there was a happy hour menu at the bar, but I did not see any specials for Fridays.

We came in on a Friday night and had a great time. The vibe and decor is Tuscan with lots of brick and wood around giving a warm feeling. Adding to the warm feeling was the friendly staff - the hostess gave us a 4 top despite us only being 2. They must have knew how much food we were going to order haha. We were given bread with an interesting spread that was tasty, but still not sure what it was exactly. Ordered some red wines. We looked over the menu to decide on some dishes to share. Here's the run down: CARCIOFO BRASATE CON BURRATA BRAISED BABY ARTICHOKES, WITH PISTACHIO PESTO AND BURRATA This was really enjoyable and with creamy burrata and delicious pistachio pesto that was perfect with the tender baby artichokes PARMIGIANA DI MELANZANA Eggplant meatballs were so good with so much flavor - didn't miss the meat at all. Fantastic sauce with this as well. BIETOLA & FUNGHI salad ROASTED RED BEET, MARINATED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS, ORGANIC BABY ARUGULA, GOAT CHEESE, WHITE BALSAMIC VINEGAR DRESSING The presentation of this dish was impressive with circles of beets acting as bed for the salad. It was different from the usual chunks of beets in most salads. I enjoyed this salad SPAGHETTI AL LIMONE IMPORTED ORGANIC SPAGHETTI, MEYER LEMON, PARMIGGIANO, FRESH BASIL We asked the kitchen to split this dish for us and they accommodated. The cheesy lemony pasta was perfect and paired well with spicy shrimp dish we ordered. GAMBERI UBRIACATI WILD BLUE SHRIMP, SWEET CHERRY TOMATOES, PANCETTA, CORN, CRISPY BREAD, RED PEPPER FLAKES These shrimps were really incredibly tasty - I usually don't order shrimp dishes in restaurants because they usually give a bit of chlorinated taste. Not here. The sauce was spicy with the pancetta and corn adding sweetness. For dessert we shared the brownie topped with pistachio gelato. The brownie was unremarkable, but the gelato was good. The espressos were perfectly made. The place was busy all night with a few open tables - the service encouraged us to sit allowing us to really enjoy our night. A fantastic experience.

Their doors will close on Sunday, July 26th 2026 to begin the transformation. I had to return on Friday, July 24th for the last official Happy Hour! We looked at some reviews and my uncle had eaten there a number of years ago and said the food was delicious. Was he right. I think it was undersold. Walking in, we were greeted immediately by a very nice hostess. When my wife said our name, the hostess asked whose birthday it was and wished me a very happy birthday. The floor is made of beautiful French tiles. There are the old looking mirrors that you think of when you imagine a French restaurant. We ordered some cocktails and wine. Everything was delicious. I didn't get pics of the appetizers. We ordered the mussels with white wine and garlic, hummus and Brussels sprouts. All were really good. The mussels were some of the best I have ever had. Sweet, fresh mussels, garlicky sauce. So good. There were 7 of us and everyone got something different. Everyone absolutely loved what they had. My mom's scallops were sweet, tender and flavorful. The pork chop was unbelievable. They changed the menu so I don't have the description. Might have been French onion soup. Sooo good. My beef Wellington was delicious. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, crusted in pistachios and came with greens and au gratin potatoes. Wow. The duck was melt in your mouth tender. We had 4 desserts to share. Chocolate mousse, pecan tart, Nutella crepes and apple bread pudding. They were all absolutely delicious. From the food to the service, everything was top notch. Our waiter and server assistant were great. It was pretty bright and the assistant closed the drapes. The waiter also noticed the table wobbled a tiny bit. He called over the assistant who fixed it immediately. No one had said a word. I can't wait to go back and try more!
