Wonderful Turkish run, Mediterranean seafood restaurant. To start off it should be known this place is BYOB and does not have a liquor license; However, they have wine glasses and bottle openers. Perfect opertunuty to try a nice bottle of wine from home that you would normally pay triple for in a restaurant. This place was authentic as it gets, from the fresh fish, to the service, to the no a/c lol. We got all fish options, which is picked daily(1am the night prior), so anything you get is fresh as they keep no fish on sight over night. The tuna tar tar and oysters were a great start, super fresh, amd tasty. For dinner we got the stuffed flounder and sea bass. They were both tasty, but the flounder took the prize. Was stuff with crab and a whole shrimp. Service was super friendly. Atmosphere is nice. Place is small, so reservations recommended, place also has a nice out door patio in the back. While our daughter was at a nearby lesson on a Friday night, we wanted some fresh oysters and seafood for dinner so used our Yelp app to find something new and different. Captain Ihab came up and off we went. Seating was immediate and water was delivered straight away. Space is tight inside along Main Street so if you want a little room to stretch your legs, you're better off either at a pair of tables on the sidewalk or outside in back under a covered patio. It was raining when we dined, so we opted for inside seating. If we had to do it again, we would go outside in the back adjacent to the parking lot. They don't have their beer and wine license yet, so feel free to bring your own- ( there's a brewery 3 doors down....) and enjoy your own choice of beverage. Oysters are almost religious for me so doing them right is important. While they were very fresh, they didn't shuck to separate the oyster from the shell in 80% of our order. If you serve them, please do it correctly in the future. Almost nothing worse than dressing them just the way you like them and then having to use a knife to separate them from the shell. On the plus side- the horse radish was excellent and had that bite you look for. We also had some grilled calamari and the fish and shrimp tacos. Both orders were delicious but when you think of shrimp and fish tacos, think of one shrimp and one fish taco- not two with a combination of both on one shell. Servers came frequently to check on the food but only filled water glasses when asked. Surprisingly great prices on everything including the oysters- $2 each! Probably one of my favorites was the New England clam chowder - creamy, hot and full of pieces of clams. Well done. When in the area, we would certainly come back and have another meal but maybe sit outside to have a little more room. read more

Four of us had dinner on Saturday. Small dine in area. Good service. Our seafood was very fresh and tastily made. We started with crispy calamari (very flavorful) and baked clams. The group liked both. I had the lobster roll which had alot of lobster meat ($39) though the sides were lacking. Fries tasted heavy and dense with a very small serving of coleslaw. HONESTLY, I NEED TO TELL THE TRUTH. IF I could give them 10 stars I would. Found myself in Farmingdale around dinnertime and called the restaurant for the wait time. Luckily the friendly voice told us to come right in, she'd hold a table for us. Arrived and most tables were taken but a nice table for 4 was provided, near the counter and away from the door. We were warmly greeted by co-owner Derya and assisted by Alfredo as well. Received waters and menu promptly. A delicious in-house hummus arrived with pita bread and it was spectacular. Lots of Mediterranean restaurants serve hummus but not like this. It's made fresh twice a day and I could've eaten a bowl of it. Throughout our meal Derya and Alfredo checked in on us often, along with another staff member(sorry I didn't get her name), and felt right at home. We quickly scanned the menu and decided to order. We ordered calamari and the seafood bisque (which was incredible) to start and a Whole Stuffed Lobster, the Shrimp Scampi and the fileted Branzino. My lobster was fresh and delicious, they're delivered from Maine. It was served with a corn on the cob and mashed potatoes. The Branzino also had the potatoes and spinach, very tasty. It was flaky and flavorful. The shrimp scampi looked amazing. over a bed of angel hair pasta with oil&herbs, my daughter cleaned her plate!!! This is one of those stories that makes this restaurant legendary! My wife and son do not eat seafood, but we went here to celebrate a very big deal that we had just completed, and in order to celebrate the wins that we have in life, I always have lobster! When I went to order my lobster, they told me that they did not have any because there was an accident with the truck that was coming from Maine. We looked at each other and knew that was going to be a big problem and we explained that lobster was our way of celebrating life. This is where it gets interesting, Ihab runs out the back door to find a lobster to cook for me in order to allow me to have my lobster and celebrate! You can't make this stuff up! What an absolutely amazing experience at Captain Ihab! From the moment we sat down, we were treated like royalty. The hospitality and service were exceptional -- every single person made us feel so welcomed, comfortable, and genuinely taken care of. And the food... WOW. The red snapper was truly outstanding. We tried both the fried red snapper and the red snapper fillet, and both were absolutely delicious. What impressed us even more was learning that they bring in fresh fish daily -- what is not served that day is not kept for the next. You can genuinely taste that freshness in every bite. The fish was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The saffron rice was spectacular and complemented the fish perfectly. And you absolutely cannot leave without trying the baklava! It was one of the highlights of the meal -- perfectly crispy on top, wonderfully juicy and moist underneath, and absolutely delicious. The service deserves just as much praise as the food. We came here from New Hyde Park to try this new restaurant in Farmingdale. The food was absolutely amazing. We started with the Shrimp Saganaki. What a different dish. The flavors and texture was completely different and extremely tasty. The Flounder stuffed with Shrimp was moist and tender. Another different dish. I had the Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly. It came on top of risotto which was outstanding. They do not have a liquor license so we brought our own bottle of wine. No corking charge. The owner was very friendly and courteous. Was greeted by one of the owners, Daria who seated us right away. No liquor license yet so her husband offered to run to the liquor store on main and brought us back a bottle of our choice.
