Four of us had dinner on Saturday. Small dine in area. Good service. Our seafood was very fresh and tastily made. We started with crispy calamari (very flavorful) and baked clams. The group liked both. I had the lobster roll which had alot of lobster meat ($39) though the sides were lacking. Fries tasted heavy and dense with a very small serving of coleslaw. The sesame encrusted tuna was ok as it was a small thin piece though cooked well. The red snapper fillets looked very good. The starter house hummus was very good. It was nice to bring our own wines.

The food is fresh and delicious. The service is welcoming and friendly. The ambiance is charming and relaxing.

Blue Point Oysters were really fresh from the ocean !

The seafood is so fresh that it taste like it was just fished out of the water and onto the plate! The appetizers of oysters and steamed mussels were superbly made, the main dishes of seafood skewers and grilled branzino were out of this world good! The service was very attentive and professional while the atmosphere of the location was classy. Will be my go to seafood restaurant for fresh tasty seafood!

Food, service, ambience all terrific. Large portions at reasonable cost. Large patio in back for outdoor seating.

As always, we are never disappointed with the service or the food. This restaurant has truly found the magic that makes this business hop. I suggest downloading his app and giving it a try. Better than any restaurant in Freeport. Always fresh products and new features.

They have a lunch and dinner menu, with lots of selections! We wanted to dine family-style, so 3 of us shared 3 items from their lunch & dinner menus, and 2 desserts: -- Complimentary Garlic Bread: Fantastic!! We asked for extra so we could have it with our mussels pot. -- Mussels Pot with white wine, garlic & oil (dinner menu/$23)...Incredible!! So flavorful! Especially with their garlic bread for dipping! This was our favorite dish, and the perfect portion for 3 ppl to share. Get this! -- Pompei Special: a variety of seafood over linguini w.butter garlic sauce (lunch special/ $24): this was good but slightly bland. It would have been better with the white wine garlic & oil sauce from the mussels pot. But the seafood was fresh and plentiful. -- Stuffed Flounder w.lump crab meat and veg (lunch special/$19): very good. This was a lunch portion, so not ideal for sharing but a great meal for one person. -- Spumoni Truffle Ice Cream ($11): this came cut in 4 pieces, and was easy to share. Delicious and very satisfying! -- Tiramisu ($12): this was good but ordinary. I would try something else next time. This was a great meal. We wanted to have soft shell crab but it was still a little early in the season, so we'll have to come back next month to have some! Customer service was welcoming and friendly. There's a small parking lot in front of the restaurant. It wasn't a problem during lunch but I can see it being more difficult during dinner and weekends.

At first I was somewhat bummed we missed the DJ night on Friday and Sunday brunch but one of the coworkers said "you came on a good day, Achilleas is your waiter." I didn't know that meant much at the time but Achilleas absolutely did not disappoint. He brought humor, laughs and our food, what was not to love? He continued to impress us from remembering our whole party's names, orders and all small facts about each individual one of us. He kept us laughing so hard that even my friend suggested they advertise "Achilleas Night" on the front door. If you're curious, follow his instagram @theothersideofgreece - him and his wife have their own travel company. Now to talk about the amazing food... to begin, if you didn't order the French Toast Sticks for an appetizer, YA DONE MESSED UPPP!! Go back, and order two of them, maybe three (it's 6 huge pieces each - not the time to count calories) ! I don't do French toast but I'd never go against the crew and I'm glad I didn't pick this day to waver. They were perfectly sweet, crunchy, warm & doughy . Then just when I thought we were done, Achilleas slides out with two complimentary desserts, one for me (birthday) and another for my two friends that had a big engagement that we are still celebrating! The complimentary cake was surprisingly delicious. It was vanilla birthday cake served warm with a scoop of ice cream, sprinkles and whip cream and my mouth is still watering over it. Needless to say, we're all looking for reasons to get together on an Achilleas night again.

The place has a good amount of seating area including high tops, low booths, bar table, and a private room. There is also two unisex restrooms. I came with my boyfriend before an event at Farmingdale State College and we were on a time crunch. I made a reservation on OpenTable but it was not busy at all. We got greeted and seated immediately upon walking in. Then, a server came with ice water for the both of us before our actual waiter came to introduce herself and ask if we were ready to order. Shortly after ordering, the waitress brought us a plate of complimentary bread that comes with garlic on top and olive oil dip on bottom. We got the fried calamari which was perfectly battered (not too little nor too thick) and fried perfectly (not too burnt nor too pale). The taste was great and went well with the marinara sauce. The Clams Oreganata were delicious too - very meaty and flavorful with a nice sauce and lemon to squeeze on top. The Clams Vespa is very unique and creamy. It reminds me of a white Alfredo sauce with baked clams. They had a huge variety of drinks and it was hard for me to choose, but the lady recommended me the Sicilian Kiss which is a strawberry flavored cocktail. It is supposed to be on the sweeter side but the alcohol was strong too. As for our main entree, we got the Papperdelle Bolognese which was a veal, pork, beef ragu on ribbon pasta. Very well cooked and the taste and texture went perfectly together. We were so full, but never skip on dessert! I'm personally not a fan of cheesecake, but they have creme brulee cheesecake and rainbow cookie cheesecake which I would have loved to try if it wasn't for the cheesecake. But I was happy to find out I could order the rainbow cookie gelato that usually comes with the cheesecake. That was yummy! The texture reminded me of the cake mix Ice-Cream from Carvel and the flavor is not too strong. Overall, great vibes and service. Will definitely be back to the the pizza and other pastas.

My brother has always wanted to try this place, but we never had a chance to actually step foot inside the Library Cafe. As the name suggests, the restaurant sits at the site of the old town library, and the bar area has tall shelves and a rolling ladder to pay homage to the name. To maximize the restaurant week menu, three of us tried different appetizers. The ahi tuna taco was the best of the lot- crispy shell and nicely prepared tuna filling. The Thai calamari was a little too overcooked and the sweet sauce was cloying. I didn't get to try too much of the French onion soup because my dad almost inhaled it whole, but it was gooey and comforting. I had the honey-soy glazed salmon with broccolini. The salmon was a little dry, but the glaze and cashew went well with it. Maybe a touch of spice could have improved the dish. The broccolini was nicely textured and not too bitter. My mom's fish and chips were underwhelming, though the not-proper "chips" were well fried and seasoned. It was not served with vinegar either. My brother had the Buddha bowl which he enjoyed and felt was a good health conscious option. I did love that they allowed my dad -- who was not feeling too well-- to order just an entree while the rest of the table had the restaurant week menu. I know some restaurants require all members of the table to order off the prix fixe menu sometimes. He had the burger, which was cooked very precisely to medium-rare. We did have dessert though we were stuffed at this point. The sticky toffee pudding cake was lovely, moist, and so decadent without being overly heavy. I ordered the wild berry cheesecake, and while the clearly house made berry compote was a nice touch, it was just a little underwhelming next to the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we had a good time at the Library Cafe, and though service was a little slow due to sudden rush of diners, it was a fun little weekday dinner. I did see signs for their happy hour, which I'd love to try-- especially their cocktails named after writers!

Never went to a bar that needed a rolling ladder to access the top shelves. The high ceilings ( believe it was a renovated library ) even allowed for a small sailboat to be displayed above the main entrance foyer. Shout out to the staff. We were immediately welcomed by the bartender and informed we could sit anywhere rather than wait to be seated. Our server Annie was exceptional: welcoming, friendly and attentive with some appreciative suggestions from the menu. The menu, excluding the St Patrick's March Menu, was your typical American bar pub food fare: appetizers, sandwiches, burgers and limited entrees. Started off with the onions soup which was cheesy but light on onion slices but very good. Passed on the St Pats March Menu ( except for the Guinness beer ) and stuck with sandwich options. The sandwiches came with a side ( other sides available with an up charge). The sliced steak sandwich, roast beef French Dip sandwich and classic burger were all cooked to perfection and served with either a salad or waffle fries. The Library features an extensive cocktail menu with creative names of famous authors and even novels. In addition there is a separate open air event area ( above and overlooking the restaurant floor ) for private events or parties. Overall a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some good food that's reasonably priced. Definitely will be back when in the area again. One note Street parking is limited but there are municipal parking lots nearby.

We both went for the lunch special (because how could you not?). I ordered the shrimp & mussels, and my daughter went with crab & shrimp. Everything arrived in that classic messy-in-the-best-way seafood boil bag, drenched in that rich, buttery, seasoned sauce that you just have to mop up. The deal also comes with an appetizer and a drink, which makes it feel like an absolute steal. The shrimp were a little stubborn to peel but let's be real, that's part of the seafood boil experience. Nothing was slowing us down. The vibe was lively, energetic, and a little chaotic in that fun, "everyone's here to eat" kind of way. Service was solid and kept things moving even as the place packed out. If you're craving seafood without breaking the bank, this lunch special is 100% worth the trip.
