East / west oysters
Dan K.

Came here as a party of 8 for a fun get together. One of our group is a regular so we left the ordering to him. First of all, who would have thought that a steakhouse would have a strong sushi game! The rolls were delicious and had a great variety. We ordered half east coast and west coast oysters and they were fresh and delicious and accompanied by all the accoutrements. We ordered two kinds of steaks to share. They even provide a hot stone for people who want their meat cooked more done can get a little extra cook on it. We also ordered the sea bass - looked good but I was too busy eating the steaks! Service was excellent and very attentive. Cocktails were very strong and we had the wine flowing. They even use a large decanter to pour into the glasses all the way at the far end of the table. But note - you're paying for every bit of the elevated experience.

Filet was cooked perfectly and had the addition of truffle butter. We also enjoyed appetizers of west coast oysters, crab cake, Korean hot dog, sliders. Large group so took way longer than anticipated but server was nice & knowledgeable. Wish I knew which Cabernet I had, it was excellent! Ambiance in the main dining room is gorgeous, however with our large party we were seated in the side room which was dark & felt crowded with a surprising amount of foot traffic.

I love coming here! The service is always excellent. I usually order the filet mignon, however today I ordered the Blackstone supreme sushi roll and it was giving an 8/10 because the wagu tasted a bit overcooked. Aside from that, their steaks tastes incredible!!

Nice spacious place with great friendly service. We enjoyed the porterhouse steak for two with creamed spinach, Mac and cheese and French fries. Valet parking. Will be back.

I had an incredible dining experience here. While the food was excellent, the service was even better. Shoutout to Jory and his team! Jory is attentive, kind, and thorough. He and the chefs care about the quality and integrity of the food. Blackstone is the kind of place that you come to celebrate big, whether it's for a couple or a group. Dining here was a great way to start the new year!

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at Blackstone. It was pretty crowded, they pretty much stuffed us together. It was not intimate at all. I could hear conversations on both sides. They do have valet parking, but no coat check. The Thanksgiving dinner special was ok, nothing special. The homemade pumpkin pie was ok. My husband got the T-bone steak and the crème brûlée. I finished it off with an espresso martini.

Thank you for making my surprise party absolutely amazing! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The manager, Dodo, always goes above and beyond to accommodate and ensure everything runs smoothly. The food was delicious, and the private room was the perfect setting for my birthday celebration. We always request Zorn and Gab when we visit, and they never disappoint--they're both fantastic! Stephanie also helped out the night of the party and was incredible. The attentiveness and positive energy really added to the experience. A big thank you from me to all of you! I highly recommend this place to everyone. You truly made our dinner experience unforgettable.

Blackstone Steakhouse was the venue of choice for my friend's wedding reception and it was really nice. The service was good and the food was delicious, very filling. I had cesear salad for starter, the filet mignon w/ mashed potatoes as the main course (a sauce chimichurri or something could have accompanied it though), and NY cheesecake for dessert. I forgot the name if the Martini I ordered but it was blue and good, haha. It was a nice time!

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with excellent service. Each staff member was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The steaks were cook perfectly with a nice crust, the shrimp and string bean salad was a nice starter and the sides, asparagus and mashed potatoes were delicious, enough for 3 people. The ambiance in the side room was very comfortable.

Blackstone has always been a consistently great restaurant. Since you always have two servers serving your table you never need to try to find anyone to assist you, plenty of happy servers are everywhere. The food is always fresh from sushi to steak, the menu can be overwhelming since there are tons and tons of items from appetizers to salads to fish selections to raw bar items to steaks to imported steaks to desserts, get the picture. You'll need time to review it all before a server comes over to mention specials and mess up your dining plan. There are also special cocktails and an extensive wine list. With so many items you must be thinking they can't get it right but amazingly they do. You clearly pay for what you get because like any great steak house it's not cheap to eat here but give it a try you won't be disappointed!

Enjoyed a family meal recently, with my family for my youngest daughter's . Great time, great meals, greatconversation, as usual. Enjoyed our individual meals and the mussels and scallops appetizer. Nice wine for myself and various martinis for my wife and daughter's. 5th time there and will return SOON

Nice ambiance, great decor and service - our server John Z was amazing! But the food - I was not so thrilled with. Lobster bisque was delicious, wish we had some bread. A $140 steak was pretty small and tasted good but not amazing. The entire sea bass dish lacked color and was completely overpowered by coconut, purple yam could have been softer and the cucumber salad did not belong on that plate at all. The sides were not bad . The cheesecake was very smooth, but that chocolate cake was the star of the entire meal - utter perfection. This was quite an expensive dinner and overall just an okay experience.

Came here for my husband's birthday with friends and i am in love with their service and good food. It was an early dinner so it was nice and quiet. Christopher was very accommodating. Our first steak was unfortunately overcooked but the manager and the staff were attentive and made it right to order. The steak show was great and we had a great time overall.

Ask the Community - Blackstone Steakhouse

Is there a dress code?

I'm not aware of a dress code. It is an up scale restaurant. Jackets are not necessary, shorts would be frowned upon. But I don't think anyone who can afford the bill would be turned away.

Is there a corking fee? If so how much?

There is a $35 corkage fee

First off, the inside is beautiful. They did an incredible job with the renovation, and I loved all the little details, especially the custom 300-pound manhole covers they're using as tables around the bar. Even better, everyone working there was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Now the food! We started with the Baked Clams, and these were legit. You could've served them to me at an Italian restaurant and I wouldn't have questioned it. The Nonna's Ribs were probably one of the biggest surprises--slow-braised pork ribs with cherry peppers and finished on the grill. Fall-off-the-bone tender, tons of flavor, and I loved that they weren't just drenched in BBQ sauce. The Firebird crispy chicken sandwich was fantastic, and the Steakhouse Sandwich with sliced NY strip, mushrooms, provolone, crispy onions and horseradish aioli was also very well done. But that Manhole Burger deserves some special attention. Beef, American cheese, caramelized onions and dijonnaise on brioche. Simple combination, executed REALLY well. This was an outstanding burger and absolutely something I'd order again. And I can't leave out the fries. They're hand-cut in house, super thin and crispy, and exactly how I like my fries. Think that addictive thin fast-food style, except made fresh and much better quality. If you remember this location from its previous ownership, give it another shot. This is a completely different experience. Beautiful restaurant, genuinely friendly staff and food that exceeded my expectations. Foundry Tavern is a Hicksville hidden gem that deserves more attention--especially for lunch. I'll definitely be back.

Heard the guy next to us order a French dip and the waiter said great, we have only 2 left. So when he came to us I ordered and he said great timing it's the last one. Took 45 minutes to get our strawberry salad which was delicious. Another 3o minutes go by (and the guy next to me who ordered the other French dip had already finished and left) So the strawberry waiter, after more than 1.15hr walk over and says "hey, we ran out of the French so I ordered you the steak sandwich. Huh? 1 hour and fifteen min later you ran out and the other guy already ate and left? I said great, but I'm not paying for it. 10 min later the owner came out. He could not have been a friendlier, responsible and all around nice person. It wasn't that he not only covered my meal but the table but it was the way he handled it. Owning a restaurant is not easy and problems happen. Food - 8/10 Prices 9/10 Place 8/10 I would not only recommend this place but they have absolutely earned my business. I obviously can't give a 5 because of the incident but I will change this to a 5 when I go back and get the service I have a feeling I'll receive. This owner deserves the business because he knows how to run a business. Money follows the people not the other way around.

We had a 4 PM reservation and were greeted right away by a very nice hostess. One thing I immediately appreciated--the TVs! The NFL game I was watching only had a few minutes left, so I was able to catch the ending before getting down to business. Our server, Gaby, was great. Funny, outgoing, attentive, and had excellent communication with us throughout the meal. We shared a few laughs along the way, which always makes for a better dining experience. Now let's talk about the mozzarella sticks... Our son decided to give them another shot. The last time we were here, we thought they were just kind of average. Today was a completely different story. Perfectly fried, great flavor, and an AWESOME cheese pull. Huge improvement! My wife and I shared the onion rings, which had a nice thin batter, were perfectly fried, and were absolutely delicious. For entrées, we went with a burger, skirt steak, and snow crab legs. The burger was very good, the skirt steak was again very good, and the snow crab legs tasted fresh and were delicious. Even though it wasn't crowded when we arrived, the inside still had that lively, welcoming atmosphere that we've enjoyed on our visits here. Overall, another wonderful experience at Popei's Bethpage. The RVC is louder with more music blasting to really curate a vibe but I actually like this location a bit more. I do like the selection of happy hour drinks and I'm always happy to eat raw oysters, these are good. However, the rest of the food isn't worth it to me. It tastes very commercial and I feel you're better off splurging at a premium seafood restaurant. For example, I had the gumbo and it was decent but definitely needed more seasoning and more spiciness. It wasn't anything special and I wouldn't get it again. I've also tried calamari and their baked clams and I could do without these as well. I also tried their crab dip (but at the RVC location, menu can vary) and that was not good. I gave voodoo crab a few tries and I don't think it's bad but it's not great either. I would only suggest the happy hour menu + drinks. I haven't tried the seafood boils here (not super interesting to me) but maybe that's worth the money in the end. The service here was great, our waitress was nice and didn't rush us out and checked on us multiple times to make sure we needed anything. For that I can say that despite the misses with some of food the restaurant isn't too bad and is worth about 3 stars.

The only negative about the ambiance was that it was quite loud. The high ceilings didn't do much to absorb sound, so it was hard to hear my companion unless we leaned forward and spoke pretty loudly. The booth was very comfortable, the table spotless, and even the menu was clean (a small pet peeve of mine). The tap water came in a beautiful glass with a straw, although the water itself tasted a bit chemical-like. They have a lunch menu with very reasonable prices. We ordered a sushi-sashimi combo and stir-fried soba with vegetables. The lunch menu is limited, so they also gave us the regular menu. Oddly, only 1 regular menu was provided for 2 people, so we had to keep passing it back and forth. It's an easy fix that would make browsing much easier. We ended up ordering an appetizer and a signature roll from the regular menu too. The lunch specials came with salad or soup. We chose the salad, which was mostly romaine with a typical Japanese dressing. The portion was larger than expected for a side salad, and the lettuce was fresh and crunchy. Our appetizer was the Lobster Tapas: "Spicy lobster & shrimp wrapped with seared pepper tuna." This was delicious. There were 5 little towers with very fresh ingredients and 2 excellent sauces--a chunky green sauce and a sweeter orange sauce. The tuna was flavorful and very tender. At this point we were already planning to come back with the rest of the family. Next came the sushi-sashimi combo. There were 9 pieces of sashimi beautifully presented on ice, plus 3 pieces of sushi and a spicy tuna roll. The sashimi was very fresh, tender, and flavorful, especially the tuna. Unfortunately, the spicy tuna roll was the weak point. It tasted dry, lacked flavor, and seemed to contain far more crunchy fillers than tuna. It reminded me of a meatball with too much breadcrumb and not enough meat. I'd rather have a smaller roll with better-quality fish than a larger one padded with fillers. The spicy tropical roll was also disappointing. It too seemed to contain more fillers than fish, and the sauce was a little too sweet. It didn't taste fish-forward enough for a "signature" roll. The flavors leaned more fusion than authentic Japanese. If ingredient cost is the issue, I'd gladly pay a few dollars more for a better fish-to-filler ratio. The stir-fried soba with "vegetables" was also disappointing. The noodles didn't taste like Japanese buckwheat soba, and the both the taste + presentation reminded me of instant ramen. The flavor was decent but nothing memorable, and there were only a few pieces of zucchini--nowhere near enough vegetables to justify the name of the dish. The service was good overall. Our server was very sweet and friendly but definitely could use more training. While we were both trying to read the single menu, she interrupted to take our order instead of asking if we needed another minute--or even better, bringing us a second menu. Not a huge issue, but not especially pro or polished. As we were finishing, we ordered a couple of takeout items for a family member. The server kindly offered to package our leftovers with the takeout, which was appreciated. However, when the bill arrived, 1 of the takeout dishes was missing. It took a while to get her attention, and when we did, she reprinted the check without explaining how much longer the forgotten item would take. She did swing back to say she'd ask the chef to expedite, but we still waited quite a while, making us late for a meeting. As for the takeout, the Valentine Roll was just ok, similar to the signature roll we had at lunch. We also ordered a tuna roll, yellowtail roll, and sweet potato roll. None were bad, but they lacked the flavor we expected. Whether it was the rice or the ingredients, they just didn't stand out. Overall, it was a nice lunch. The beautiful restaurant, fresh sashimi, generous salad, and excellent appetizer showed a lot of promise. Unfortunately, too many of the rolls relied on fillers instead of fish, the soba missed the mark, and there were a few service missteps. They're very close--just a handful of small, doable improvements could elevate the experience from okay to outstanding. I hope they do.

I made a reservation for two on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was pretty busy, but they had our table ready even though we arrived 30 minutes early. Our server was Evelyn, and she was so sweet and she helped us when we were trying to decide between two desserts and three appetizers. We ordered: - Spring Salad (5/5) this tasted so good with the fresh mango, the snap peas, and the carrot ginger dressing. - Faroe Islands Salmon (5/5) I only tasted the rice, and not the salmon itself, but the rice was so good, and I just kept on stealing more from the plate. - Roasted-Half Chicken (4/5) This was my own entrée, and I loved how the chicken was crispy, and I also really liked the garlic mashed potatoes, but the only thing that I did not think worked well with the dish was the swiss chard. I think it would've tasted better with spinach. - Strawberry Cheesecake (4/5) this was surprisingly very light for a cheesecake, we ended up finishing all of it, and the whipped cream was really good. The strawberries were not my favorite, I kind of wish that they were just fresh slices of strawberries, but to each their own. All in all, this was a super solid meal, there's plenty of parking, and the restaurant is quite spacious, and the single bathrooms are also pretty large.

Nice place with good service! We went on a Friday night with no reservations but they managed to…read moresqueeze us in. The place was packed so that was a good sign. I got Cacio e Pepe and a side of zucchini ribbons with garlic & oil. The pasta was good but bucatini is not my fav because it is hard to eat. It was cooked perfectly, not too soft. The zucchini was really good, I'd go back for that alone! My friend got a Caesar salad and chicken franchise, he finished every bit so im assuming it was good. Surprisingly the back of the menu was sushi! Maybe I will try it next time but I'm not sure if I can stay away from the zucchini! If you are wanting classic Italian, definitely check this place out, they definitely do it right! Sorry, no pics, I'll take them next time!

I…read morewas excited to see they offer garlic bread as part of their bread basket but it was so dry and lacking in flavor. I ordered the traditional calamari which tasted and looked like fresh, real seafood but it was tough and chewier than I would've liked. I think the amount of sauce that came with the dish was appropriate and that was nice to see. I got the capellini pescatore as my main and was deeply disappointed, the scallops were small which was okay but they tasted awful. No other word to describe it but fishy, sour, dirty, just awful. I would've had better scallops at hibachi. The shrimp was good. The pasta sauce was okay, again I'm not sure what it was but it was me a headache, the combination of the scallops and sauce were just too much for me. I finished with the brownie sundae which was dense and had a good dark chocolate flavor, I will say it was pretty dry and could've used more chocolate syrup or something to rehydrate the brownie before being served
