Lisa E and I went to a local brewery at 4PM craving live music, only to be dissapointed. Seems the original band backed out and the replacement was coming at 7PM. While enjoying our comped beers, scrolling through social media noted that Big Daddy's had the King Cobras playing at 630! We had previously enjoyed the band in the same setting over a year ago, and I was only this years old when I realized the harmonica player is from another favorite band, Blue Roots! Made a reservation and off we went. When we arrived, I noticed seating to the right of the bar that would give us pretty much a front row seat for the music. Lisa was hesitant because it was not truly in the dining room, but acquiesced. So glad we did because we ended up staying for 3 hours, enjoying both sets. We also got to hang with family members and friends of the band, which made for an extremely intimate and enjoyable evening. We both started with sazeracs, which had too much ice to make it the classic that it is. We shared the barbecue plate, some of the meats a hit, some a miss. Pulled pork and brisket a little too fatty even for me , and of the 4 ribs, 2 were meaty and 2 kind of forlorn! Next time will choose more carefully, as previously enjoyed a grits dish and Lisa a salad with grilled shrimp. After dinner, a generous pour of Wild Turkey 101, sipped while swept up in the sounds! Overall a fun evening, music and hospitality being the 5th star, food and drink a 3, so overall a 4 star evening. Definitely will return for this band!

Love this place. Good service, good food, good drinks, good people. TV and live music on the weekends.

Good food and service , fun atmosphere. One of the few places that serve gator this far north. Gumbo was delicious and the brisket was cooked perfectly. Overall great time.

Loud, noisy, live band playing at 4pm on Saturday. Madison was a great server even with a big party going on in the back part of the restaurant. Bring Tums with you just in case, even though not everything is spicy. But it is Cajun, so beware. I've seen grown men tear up here with some of the dishes. The drinks are powerful and good - especially the Hurricane. I highly recommend Big Daddy's. Bring your appetite and some antacids. You won't be disappointed.

Overall met my expectations and wish I could give 3 1/2 stars but not higher since the food missed at times. Having attended for a holiday party, we order a whole array of food to test the palate. Some food (burnt ends with grits) were highly anticipated but resulted in mouthfuls of fat. Other food had the proper New Orleans creole seasons but just missed the mark. Being an avid fan of New Orleans /creole food, I had slightly higher expectations than most and I realize that distorts the rating. The service was great and the live music certainly provided a comforting atmosphere. Would consider trying again but not at the top of my list.

Yall remember that show? The best thing I ever ate! If BD's was on there it would be them burnt ends and grits. Yeah I've had burnt ends too many times to count and I make grits damn. But together nope never have never would. I'm not anything if I'm not willing to give something a chance and wooow I'm telling you this was fantastic. I found places that don't know how to make burnts at all it's just ends up tuff and feeling like undercooked bris. Theirs was charred so good. Seasoned so well. And that sauce. Not a saucy food guy here but in my Jed Clampett voice WELL DOGGY , slap that over them grits and just give it to me. Everything in this dish. Worked together amazingly the beef the saucy the creamy grits. I'd. Eat this every darn week. Also my rum punch was strong and good loved it. I'm be honest though my oysters are what stopped big D from getting 5 stars. They weren't charred aka broiled enough. For me I like that golden to almost dark color and there was to much cheese and stuff. The oysters got lost in it. I'm going to roll two reviews into one. First time I had BD was two years prior. My sis was having her birthday celebration and got food career from them, but I didn't know till my first official visit after. But the gumbo has to be one of the best I've had in New York. The jambalaya you can't go wrong with it for sure it's a winner.

After all these years this place still doesn't disappoint. Took my dad for a belated birthday lunch. He had another place in mind but they didn't serve what he wanted until later in the day. So he suggested here. It's closer & the food is always delicious. Win Win! I got my favorite the Seafood Étouffée with an order of Fried Oysters on the side. The Étouffée is served over Goat Cheese Grits which I love so much I started making grits at home that way. The oysters were crispy but wish there was more of them. Kinda on the small side but delicious non the less. Dad got the shrimp & grits which he enjoyed immensely. Always a good meal here. And lunch with my Dad is always a great time. 3-25-2023

To reiterate, Bitterman's is a hidden gem where the proprietor Joe is a serious barbeque afficianado with a keen craftsmanship approach to cooking spectacular BBQ. My wife picked us up some carryout last night which is their bread and butter (they have a few small tables almost like a deli inside). Holding with my previous experience the food was absolutely incredible. We lucked out going later towards close where Joe "loaded up" the BBQ where a tri-fecta turned into a quad-fecta LOL. The Mac and cheese was top notch and their cornbread always moist never dry with their signature pineapple flavor infusion. Everything exceeded expectations and I know Joe reads all of these reviews personally so what I will add is please bring back the smoked sausage, Joe. With love from your fans.

The ribs looked so good, as did the mac and cheese and cornbread. These ribs were ginormous, definitely more than enough for one person, honestly they could feed three people (at least in my opinion lol). The ribs came with a cup of the house bbq sauce. The owner was so helpful and friendly as was the other staff there. I brought it home and as I mentioned (it's a lot of food). The ribs were perfect, and honestly the rub was so flavorful that the sauce wasn't really necessary. To me, they tasted like a mix of a Memphis style and KC style rib, a little tangy and sweet. The Mac and cheese was very good, creamy and gooey. Both the ribs and Mac and cheese reminded me of one of my favorite bbq restaurants that closed. Highly recommend!

I will preface this by saying I consider K-city a 5/5 for Long Island - probably a 4/5 if K-city was in Queens tbh. If i was in the Nassau area I default to K-city vs. Kpot! I mainly go to K-city for the hotpot vs. the kbbq/hot food selection. The bbq is okay but the grill itself is pretty small. The prepared food selection is also okay, includes both hot food & sushi but I mainly consider it as food to eat while my hotpot is getting ready (lol). The broths are very legit with the variety offered being spicy (mala with the Szechuan peppercorns), mushroom, pork bone, herbal ( I believe is a mix of pork & chicken + herbs), tomato and mushroom. My favorite thus far have been the spicy & herbal! I appreciate that the meats are also included in the buffet section as well so I can control the quantity as opposed to some other hotpot/bbq places where the meats come pre-portioned. I think the main drawback of K-City as opposed to Spring Shabu (my personal 2nd favorite choice in nassau) is definitely the veggie selection & quality. Having said that, the veggie selection is okay and has the main things I get like the enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, broccoli and noodles.

First off, yeah its a bbq/ hotpot kind of joint. AYCE of course. I have to say the little personal hotpots they give us are cute. The broth choices doesn't seem to matter tbh. Eventually you're chucking all types of seafood and meats that will make your broth good regardless. The pot is a bit on the smaller side if you choose 2 different broths. Hoping the 1 flavor one would be bigger but its the same. Cause of the split pot inside. As for the choices it's pretty standard hotpot stuff. Nothing too crazy to write home about. The grill side was a bit on the disappointment. Sure they have "marinated meats" but when I went they just chuck frozen galbi on top of the marinated meat. Not sure if they didn't have enough time for prep but I felt like the workers are just throwing things in for us animals to eat regardless of flavors. The cook station and sushi station was probably the most disappointing stations of them all. Majority of the cooked foods were cold. you would assume theres some kind of heat light warmer or steam bath to keep the foods warm but nope... most of them were just out and about and cold. The sushi station was lack lustered... selections were limited. Just your average carb city and fillers. The sashimi were not appealing imo. Overall, i felt like this place maybe good for younger audiences or family outings. Kids will like it cause of all the different types of fried/fast food styles. Also... just a tip for some of you out there. If you see raw oysters and raw clams with ice cubes on them... it's for HOT POT to COOK THEM IN! If you want the legit ones goto the sushi station for them... DONT EAT THE ONES AT THE HOTPOT STATION! MOST LIKELY YOU WILL GET SICK IF YOU DO! I'm pretty sure their were signs that state that ...but saw some of these "adults" SLURPING AWAY before even making it to the table... and im like...bro is gonna be on the toilet for sure... SO yeah.. BE SMART! READ BEFORE STUFFING YOUR FACE WITH THE RAW STUFF!

Our waiter Joe was very nice. The girl who sat us gave us our menus right away. I had to wait for hubby to park, but I had time to look over the menu. All the choices sounded good. Hubby wound up with a Spinach Benedict with Roasted Tomatoes with nicely Crispy fries and a lemon Benedict sauce to die for. I got a Avocado Toast with Goat Cheese and Caramelized Onions on whole grain toast. The Arugula salad that was also on the plate was covered lightly with a lemony dressing. I added Cholula Sauce and it was so good. Another point I'd like to make is that the bottles of hot sauces were clean with no cruddy tops. That turns me off so good for them.
