Zinger Burger Gyro Spot 476 S Broadway, Hicksville, NY 11801 Gyro Spot provides delicious gyro platters and sandwiches. I got their zinger burger and masala fries. Review: (4 out of 5 Stars) It's Deliciously juicy with just the right amount of kick. Add the masala fries with it and you got a meal packed with flavor. As always don't forget to say Bismillah and Alhamdulilah for everything

Excellent and friendly service I've been coming here for years as they were one of the first to serve halal gyros on the island, but today I had the WOW dog and it was delicious!

1st time here- Place seemed clean, servers were pleasant. They currently- deliver thru Grubhub or have curbside pickup. Called order in. Gyro, fries and meat and rice platter. 2 men working on grill and packing orders. Reasonably priced. Use charge cards- you handle and place into machine. Sani wipes on counter. Have a nice bench to sit outside with. There were other people there- waiting outside as one person at a time came in to get their orders. Have a variety on the menu. Open many hours. Can pull up in front -2 car space room. Are located on West side of street Broadway 107 near Subaru and South of Old Country Road.

    Combo Platter ($7)
    Andrei L.

I first came to Gyro Spot around 5ish years ago because a friend introduced me. Seemed like this was one of the few places at the time where you could get a lamb and rice platter rather than having to trek out to the city. I came here recently again and I'm happy to say that I feel it still has the best lamb and rice platters in the area. I got the combo platter ($7). What's nice about this platter is that everything tastes a bit more real than typical lamb and rice platters. The meat they use is pretty solid in my opinion and has a decent flavor. I like the rice they use as well; it's on point. Viewed in its totality, the platter is unique in that it is not as greasy and messy as other platters. Other platters tend to get clumped up and greasy but this one is better on that front. So I have to say this one is pretty tasty. It is $1 more expensive than the halal place down the road at Delco Plaza and the Hazma and Medina Cart in the area. But I feel it is worth it. You can eat in here as well because they have a few tables. Not the nicest or most clean place, but gets the job done.

    Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich

I got the Philly Cheesesteak with mango lassi. The mango lassi was good but was a little bit over priced. The Philly cheesesteak was kinda place like there was no flavor or spice to it. I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. For the Falooda , it was good. Tried it and good but I don't think ima get it again but maybe you guys will.

    RAW BURGER MEAT

I came here for iftar and expected much better food. i was originally going to eat at another place but someone told me to come here, which i regret. firstoff the fries were full of too much masala that it burned my throat and made my mouth burn. the chicken tikka and seekh kabab portions were so small, i paid for food that should have tatsed good. the taste of the zinger and the sauces were off as well. and to top it all off i was served a RAW burger, raw!!! i could have gotten seriously sick if i had eaten that, good thing i was able to catch it! SO disappointing! i will NOT be coming back

    Regular Chicken
    Albert K.

If i did a blind taste, I would have thought this was cart food. They ran out of their Tandoori Chicken, so I had the regular Chicken over Rice. Normally, chicken and rice from a Mediterranean/Halal Restaurant COMPARED to a cart has an authentic, homemade flavor. Gyro Spot's CNR - Flavor was a bit bland, thought it needed more salt. The white sauce was slimy, overly mayonnaise-y, and as usual an iota of that red sauce will set your mouth burning. Next time, I really hope they have that tandoori chicken (heard great things). Inside ventilation is poor. If you plan on eating here, know your clothes will be profumed with kebab smoke. Wear a smock like the kids do when they paint.

I don't know what happened to this place but it's become horrible. They threw the fries in the bag like is garbage. We paid for the food not pick it out of the garbage and that's how it's given to us. We also asked white sauce none was given to us. See the picture attached. The owner needs to fix this place or sell it to someone who will take pride in owning a restaurant.

    Lamb over Rice
    Michael C.

I stopped by around 10pm on a rainy night. Was glad this place has seating areas to get out of the rain while enjoying some delicious lamb over rice :) Overall I think its a decent Halal place especially they close bit later than other dining establishments around the area. Food-wise though maybe I'm just too used to the street carts in NYC and JC but honestly Gyro Spot's food is comparably bland in my opinion. While the lamb meat was done quite well and portions I have to say pretty sufficient, the rice felt like boring old cooked rice compare to some of the chicken over rice carts I've eaten. However they did get the white and hot sauce pretty close but honestly I was never a fan of drenching the food in the white sauce. Price-wise its probably about what you pay for in the city as well maybe $1 more depends on the cart. But for the area though its a pretty good price. For a late dinner they get the job done. I should've asked for chicken & lamb combo with some cut-up grilled pita breads, that was always my go-to secret menu combo at the street carts when they do it right.

Where's the rest of the ingredients? It looks and was super dry. Missing tomatoes, lettuce & onions

When we sat down it was kind of annoying because the sun was in our eyes from the window. They offered to move our seats, but the other table also was in the sunlight. We ordered a chicken kebab as an appetizer and got the mix grilled plate as an entree and goat Karahi. The mix grill plate was huge and came with like 5 different types of meat dishes cooked various ways of chicken and lamb. My favorite thing from the grill platter was the green chicken and the red chicken. It comes with tomatoes, and red onions as well. The goat karahi was good too the sauce was very flavorful and went well with the garlic nann. We also got a mango lassi, we found out half way through our meal that they forgot it and when we got our bill they charged us for 2 so they gave us a cash refund. Overall it was a nice place lots of families were there with their kids.

Friendly service and a lovely ambiance top it all off. Highly recommended!

I tried the following dishes: Cauliflower Manchurian (3/5): This dish was pretty good, but not amazing. I did enjoy it. Garlic Chili Noodles (3.5/5): Pretty good noodles, not very spicy but good flavor and consistency. Hakka Chili Chicken (4/5): I liked this chicken, but my dining partner did not. The chicken was boneless dark meat, which I really like. You can get it with no, light, or full gravy. We did full and had it with rice. I did enjoy this dish. Overall, I had a pretty good experience at HAKA. No dishes were real standouts, but they were all decent. It is not a bad option for Indo-Chinese in the area.

We ordered shrimp with then and they came with fried/tempura shrimp, which we found odd. There was also egg on the dish but it did nothing for the noodles. We ordered the noodles regular so they should have had some sauce but there was none. The chicken dishes were both really good. The chicken wasn't overly fried or breaded. It tasted fresh and had a good bite to it. I like the spicy garlic chicken a bit more because of the spice. The haka chicken was more of a sweet and salty flavor. Both were tasty. Unfortunately, our experience took a very upsetting turn when we found what appeared to be a bug in the food. After some back and forth the owner ultimately became very aggressive and said "if you want me to deal with this issue personally you can come in person and we can handle it like men" to my older brother which felt threatening. We left the interaction feeling disrespected, intimidated, and completely disgusted with how our concerns were handled. We were unable to reach a resolution or receive a refund despite raising what we believed was a serious food safety issue. Finding a literal insect in a meal is concerning enough, but what made this experience especially disappointing was the way we were treated afterward. I ordered the mixed chicken and lamb over rice with a side of French fries, loaded with both white sauce and barbecue sauce. The platter was massive and beautifully layered. The chicken was tender, juicy, and packed with warm spices, while the lamb was perfectly seasoned, thinly sliced, and had that rich, savory flavor that pairs so well with the fluffy, flavorful rice. The French fries were crispy and mixed right in, adding great texture. I loved the contrast between the cool, creamy garlic white sauce and the smoky, tangy barbecue sauce. They complemented the meat perfectly and I ended up drizzling extra on every bite. The portion was so generous I could barely finish it, but it made for an amazing lunch the next day too. I also got the lamb gyro with white sauce on the side. The pita was soft and warm, stuffed generously with thinly sliced, marinated lamb that was crispy on the edges and super flavorful. Fresh tomatoes, onions, and lettuce added a nice crunch, and that signature creamy white sauce tied everything together beautifully. Every bite was juicy, savory, and downright addictive. Everything tasted fresh, made to order, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. This is my new go-to spot for halal food on Long Island.
