Overall, a great option and the guy working there is fun to talk to while you wait, def, an entertainer. I even once phoned the order in and it was ready upon arrival. I've been going to Empire Halal for a long time. Initially it was a backup place, but as all the good trucks have moved into storefronts, snd then franchises, Empire Halal has stayed true. They are one of the better Halal chicken, lamb and falafel vendors left. They are super quick on service, thanks to volume. Shout out to another Yelper who informed that they charge extra for using credit card. I ate there on Saturday and thought I was being charged $7. I looked at my credit card statement and they charged me $7.60. They don't advertise anywhere that they charge extra for credit, and the dude didn't tell me this when I went to pay. I know it's just 60 cents, but false advertising is a fantastic way to lose customers. Overall the taste just wasn't there for me compared to Shah's, Halal guys or places in the city. They also lose a point for their attitude. Today I picked up a mixed over half rice half salad and was charged 2 dollars more than normal. I totally understand, thats not a problem with the economy and covid. I got home ready to eat and when I opened the box I found the cheapest amount of meat I have ever received in a chicken and rice place in my whole entire life...they charge more and give less now...That's bad for business and it's a true shame because I felt like I was robbed. When we asked for a Diet Coke with our meal, the man began lecturing us about the negative effects Diet Coke has on our body. I never thought I'd be saying this about a good truck but the dishes here are awesome. We've tried pretty much all the platters and there's not a bad one among them. It's clean, the staff is always friendly, and the wait time is usually minimal...even though there is almost always a line.
