I've had the food from this truck before, and I've recommended it to other halal fans. However, after this particular (third?) time, I realize that there is a bit of a problem with my chicken and lamb combo over rice here. I only get white sauce because I don't like my food even medium spicy. I do like mild spice, mind you. But the chicken from this truck is just too darned spicy to begin with. I mean, hey guys, you know that people who like your stuff hot and spicy get the red sauce and that blows their taste buds away already. There's no need to burn our tongues with just the grilled chicken itself. read more

Yum! Delicious food, giant portions, low price, warm and friendly service. Passed this food truck many times and yesterday turned out the perfect day to give it a try. We both got lamb/chicken combo over rice. I expressed that I wanted to try the falafel and our one-man staff kindly threw two on top, no charge. A little bit of salad was included. We got to sample the sauces before deciding what to put on top. My recommendation is plenty of the wonderful white sauce with just a trickle of the hot sauce. (At first it doesn't taste very hot but it sneaks up on you wow!) It was nice to see the plates assembled right before our eyes. Food was served piping hot in a heavy foil dish with plastic lid. Each meal was enough for two meals. Meat was nice and soft, small pieces. The rice was awesome. Total for the two: $13. This one is now in the take home rotation. I recommend you try it soon. read more

Halal On Wheels - Food Trucks Near Me - Uniondale, New York

Good street meat in Long Island? I was shocked to find a halal cart in Long Island a few blocks from Roosevelt field mall. My expectations were low because it was in the middle of no where on a street that didn't have a lot of foot traffic...or car traffic. I assume a lot of their sales are to Hofstra students since it's nearby. I had the combo chicken and lamb on rice and it was actually really good! The portion was huge. They were very generous with the meat too. I usually finish a whole platter in one setting, but I was only able to eat 3/4 of it. The meat and side salad was fresh and didn't taste like it had been sitting around for half a day. My only complaint would be their sauces. The sauce white sauce and hot sauce needs help. The white sauce was bland and didn't add much taste and the hot sauce just wasn't spicy or tangy enough. Other than that, I wish they had a cart closer to me in Queens because they beat many queens carts in my book. read more

Hate to do this to this place but my experience here was unacceptable. I work in the area and frequented this place for lunch. Can't beat the price of $7-$8 for a filling meal. However, the last time I went to this place there was a chunk of glass in my food! It was literally in the first bite that I took. I couldn't believe it and had to make sure it wasn't just some broken plastic (from the plastic utensils they use). Nope, I'm fairly certain it was glass. See the attached picture for yourself. What was even more frustrating is when I took it back, the server was so nonchalant about it all and tried to fix me another platter. Obviously I'm done eating from this place because what's to say there isn't more glass in the food? He did not seem concerned, he just gave me a refund and didn't even refund me for the water I purchased to rinse the pieces put of my mouth. Always had good dealings with the folks here but the customer service in the light of this was just ridiculous. read more

I re-visited this location on 5/18/2018 and there was no rice! I was informed that rice would arrive in 10 minutes, so I hung around.. thinking "it's worth the wait!" No biggie. I came back well over 10 minutes and was informed by the cart staff that his brother was stuck at a light and would be there soon. I get lost for at least 15 minutes after walking around Hofstra and still no rice! I was offered items that do not use rice... but I declined, I came here for the combo over rice. I take the walk back to my car, jam to a few songs and decide to drive over to the cart this time... at least another 15 minutes have passed and surely by now this guys brother is here. Nope! No rice again.. It happens I suppose, when you've got good food and you're in a remote cart.. I understand that. I am mostly disappointed about being strung along for at least half an hour waiting for some rice that will never come and being offered something I didn't come for. I may come back again, who knows.. maybe they will have rice and maybe I will have forgiven them. I ultimately ended up going to the local dunkin, which was alright. Hard bagel, but the coffee was at least good.. read more

Amazing service, and great food! It's a nice cute truck on the side of the road, you can't miss it!

the food wasn't good in the first place then made us wait over 40 mins for loaded fries to then say we didn't ask for it.I threw out my food and waited 40 mins for nothing because he forgot. would give 0 stars if possibl. read more

Shah's Halal is better and they wont flood your Facebook private messages with useless questions. Food tastes vaguely like Halal, if you like your meat flavorless and drowned in watered down sauces. Try UberEats free delivery deals for Shah's Halal or literally any other Halal and you'll have a better experience. read more

I don't eat food from trucks but I figured after reading the reviews I figured I'd try it. I had the lamb and chicken combo over rice. The owner put white sauce and a little hot sauce on it. It was delicious. The owner was very nice and the price was great. read more

Only halal food I eat ! Very nice people. Food always great love the chicken over rice

I ordered from here because my dad and I wanted gyros. This was the only place that delivered. This was not the best gyro. Three of us ordered the lamb gyros w falafel. The falafel was a little dry but the flavor was decent. The tzatziki was made from mayonnaise. Mayonnaise. That was a first for me. I like mayo but I expect a light, tangy sauce on my gyro. This white sauce did not do it for me but the thing that was most disappointing to me was the lamb. It tasted as if there was a filler in it, maybe some sort of bread. We were, to say the least, disappointed with our order. My mom ended up throwing half of hers out. My dad and I ate the whole thing because we're fat asses. We will not order from here again. read more

I went to get food I almost try everything it is amazing food after a long time I had so tasty food

The food here is good. The main competitor is Hamza and Madina. The food here is just as good but costs less than Hamza and Madina. The portions are also larger than those at Hamza and Madina. The food here is definitely not fresh either. It's kept heated so if freshness matters, this is probably not the place. If tastes matters, coming here is a pretty good idea. read more

Absolutely disgusting you're better off going to the halal restaurant around the corner across from Popeyes. You'd expect for the food to be authentic but it's not even worth the money. read more

This place is hit or miss. I've had some questionable experiences but at the same time I've had some good experiences. As far as questionable I've been fat shamed here by one of the older gentlemen. Me and my husband ordered three platters. One for me, one for him and one for his mom and they looked at me and asked me if two of the platters were for me with a smirk on their face. We've also have stoped using our card here because I realized they like charging more then what the food cost. On a good note the food is good and it depends on who serves you for good customer service read more

Very good gyros, a lot of food for a reasonable price. For only a few dollars more you can get an order of fries and a soda. Definitely recommend. read more

What a gem right next to Hofstra's campus. At first I was skeptical- but then I noticed that there are always cars parked on the side of the road, picking up food from this magical cart! for $7 we got a chicken combo plate with a drink- you cannot beat the price and the quality. Honestly it rivals Halal Guys in NYC and it's great because I don't have to make the trek into NYC. You can even order ahead online! read more

What a god damn disappointment this is, last time I ever choose to do any kind of business with people who act upon poor integrity and business ethics. Like who purposely gives the wrong address to someone who literally calls to go to your location, a block or two down is one thing but this is the literal other side of town. It's a good thing there is more than one halal place on Long Island because I refuse to come here on my own accord anymore. read more

The best Halal food on long island. I've never been disappointed. I go here when I'm hungry and always get a good meal at a fair price.

I've had better. Also another thing to watch out fore. They told me the total was 12$ and charged me 13$ on my credit card. If you are charging customers extra if they pay by credit card, at least be up front about it. read more

Not sure why this place is rated so high, the mix plate was not great. The meat lacked flavor and you can taste the salt. There are many places in the city and in queens that are much better. Didn't finish the mixed plate. The salad was just lettuce with nothing else. Charged more than most of the other places. I don't think I will be returning here read more

Worst chicken and rice I have ever had. The white sauce tastes nothing like I've ever had. Tasted like ranch dressing and hot sauce wasn't even hot. I haven't tried anything else from here but if you're looking for a good chicken and rice spot, this definitely isn't it. Save your $7 bucks and go to the truck in East Meadow! read more

Your better off going to any other halal place in the area. I'm not picky with chicken and rice you kinda can't screw it up too much in my book. But when I ordered delivery and asked for equal parts hot sauce and white sauce on the side I got both on top (which doesn't bother me much alot of places can screw that up once in a while) but 3/4 was white and only 1/4 was hot sauce. The biggest disappointment was the pita I ordered on the side. Why would anyone want pita cut up like fries?? You can't scoop anything when they're that tiny. Chicken was good. Rice was kinda blah. Only real positive was i got delivery updates on grub hub and it was on time. read more

The chicken was too soft, and my food was cold. The white sauce had a tangy taste and I like spicy hotsauce but it tasted like red hot buffalo sauce. The rice was good however. Wasn't one of the worse halal trucks I've tried. read more

Great place. Great chicken over rice. Conveniently parked on Oak street by Hofstra University. Open late. Make sure to get extra white sauce

Good food, fast service. Enjoyed my visit. Definitely recommend it to everyone who enjoys halal food

Order of two lamb gyro sandwiches with sauce on side arrived 20 min late and cold. Still 5 stars at that point. Then I unwrapped my sandwich. It had an abundance of cucumbers, some tomatoes, hardly any lettuce, and no onions. The bland spongy chunks of gyro had that 3rd party meat provider taste. The white sauce was a mayonnaise based salad dressing and the hot sauce was a dreadful homemade chili powder paste. Nothing Greek about this meal. read more
