This morning I ordered a potato omelette from Nick's P i c c o l o deli on levittown pky in hicksville, that a friend picked up for me. I received home fries on the bottom of the dish, and scrambled eggs overly well done like an overcooked slab of bread over home fries big chunks of potatoes. When I called the owner and just began to explain what had happened the man hung up on me! Apparently he feels justified to do what he does and had the nerve to charge me $7.60. Do not frequent this deli as the owner could care less! Upon returning the item to the deli the owner was very apologetic and quickly returned my money. So for customer service I have to say he definitely came through!

What a stroke of good luck! My brother and I went to watch the football game at a bar that didn't serve food. We decided to get something while we waited for the game. "Hick's Piccolo Gourmet" was a location my brother mentioned he passed a while back. We made our way, it was a quick drive. It's located in a small community in a shopping center. The deli stands out from the rest of the surrounding businesses. It's load and screams "come inside." I accepted the invitation and walked in. The deli is long and quite. Two TVs play as you wait. The gentleman behind the counter is the owner named Benjamin. And he couldn't be a nicer guy. He joked with us and mentioned they've been around for six years. He also stated they have the best hero's around. "Best hero's around you say?" Well I would put that to the test. They have a list of sandwiches you can pick from. You can also modify the hero's any way you want. I made small changes and the owner went to work preparing the food. My brothers eyes grew wide as he put the hero together. The owner seemed to pile on the meat with portion control out the window. I saw tears down my brothers cheek as he imagined the best way to tackle this titan. Then I had the same questions as he made mine. We sat down at the seating inside and exchanged one half of our hero's. This is something we do to experience the food at any location. I have to say, this gentleman was a man of his word! The hero was better than I expected. How could one man make a masterpiece without any help? I was in complete awe of his talent. It was a special meal. And on top of everything, he gives potato salad with the meal. Pow! I went from customer to patron. And judge by the way he spoke to a few other people buying food, I'm not the only one. If you love meats, salads, and good conversation, than look no further than Piccolo.

A really intimate place, with probably like 15 tables max inside, and a little bar that can sit also about the same amount of people, but still looks new and fresh, and also be on the lookout because when you're driving the place sneaks up on you. The friendliest service, Lauren who seated us and served us was truly genuine, and I told her I really appreciate that as most restaurants don't have that sense of personal customer service, actually noticeable and appreciated. The food was also really good, the dip was flavorful, could be a little warmer but still very good, the chips were next level, and this was a huge hit. The calamari was lightly breaded, and also I do appreciate the two sauces to choose from when dipping, either Kung Pao or Marinara. I got the Pastrami Rub Tuna over Scallion Mash, and when I first looked at it I thought the fish piece was a bit small, but after eating it, it was the perfect size, and the mash was delicious, and the Wasabi Sauce to dip the fish really made the dish Pop. Drinks were okay, started with a kick and boozy but finished a bit watery for my first one, the second one I had with Mescal was a 10/10 though. This place needs attention, and the fact that it is still pretty low key and food influencers haven't descended to blow up it's spot is awesome.

While I had heard great things about this restaurant, I hadn't been in yet. I'm sure glad we chose to come here. Since I'm perpetually early, I went to have a beer at the bar while waiting and had a chance to peruse the happy hour menu. Lots of good stuff here including many beers and cocktails. This menu is available until 6 pm during the week. Bartender was a doll and gave me the skinny on all her favorites for both the happy hour and regular menus. Bar seats maybe 15 people and a tv above will keep a solo flyer busy for a bit. Once my buddy arrived, we were seated in the dining room toward the back. A great space able to seat many patrons. Larger groups can easily be accommodated. Our server Zack was awesome and came by just often enough. He also did a great job spacing out our courses so as not to overload our table. We started with soup and then had one of the starts of the evening- sliced seared tuna. This was a reco from the earlier mentioned bartender and it was a super home run. So were the Bang Bang Tacos. ( another reco from our great bartender food guru.) My friend said his salmon was good but not great and I had a burger that Zack recommended. Cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious, this was an incredible burger and I could have taken at least half home. I didn't because it was so good and I felt stuffed when it was finished. We didn't stop there though - the dessert menu looked awesome and I wasn't going to miss it. Coffee and snifter of Chambord matched with the cinnamon apple explosion was the "icing on the cake" Great meal and service. Will definitely come back and the sooner the better.

Portions are generous and the best dish of the night was the Dancing Shrimp appetizer (fried shrimp wrapped in kataifi). Overall, wouldn't mind coming back here if in the area but wouldn't go out of my way to visit. One of the best features of the restaurant is the ambiance accompanied by good service. Bar is lively on weekends, and the dining area is spacious for table parties of 4-6.

Arriving, the space is bright and airy. At the table there was a lovely potted plant with our reservation name which we were able to take home with us. Such a nice touch. The trivia was really fun and something different to do. We started off with the maple bacon donut holes for the table. They came out piping hot and had the perfect donut texture. They were so good. They have a lot of cocktails and cocktails to choose from. I opted for the Spritz which was a light Aperol Spritz and it was perfect for brunch. The Paloma was also quite good. I had the Tap Stack which was pancakes layered with bacon and topped with a corn flake crusted chicken cutlet. The portion was large and hearty. The chicken was so crunchy and yummy. The bacon was perfectly cooked. The pancakes were a bit on the tough and dry side. The breakfast burrito, BEC and brunch burger were all good and everyone enjoyed their meals. Huge menu offering good 'ole American food, and serving huge portions !! We learned that getting here early on a Saturday night (between 5 - 5:30p) means nothing cuz it's packed, and we learned they DO take reservations. Good to know. This place is popular... and for good reason. My husband ordered the BBQ baby back ribs and loved them. He said he was impressed with how good they were. I ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap, which was loaded with chunks of well-seasoned grilled chicken and some lettuce sitting on top of fresh pita bread rolled up. As my side, I got a Greek salad, which I then incorporated into my grilled chicken wrap. I loved putting it all together, but if you think I was able to finish that, you'd be wrong. I brought it home and enjoyed it the next day for lunch, although parts of it were admittedly soggy. I just ate around the soggy parts cuz it was too good to waste. We only visit L.I.
