As the name suggests, this place Slaps! I stopped by Slappin Chick in Hicksville for a quick fried chicken fix and walked away pretty satisfied. The chicken is crispy on the outside with good flavor, and you can actually taste the seasoning. I went with a medium heat level and it had a nice kick without completely destroying my taste buds. Perfect for what I was craving. I ordered the Hot Chicken Tenders with Fries, Mango Habanero Wings, and Garlic Parmesan Wings at Slappin Chick and overall had a really good meal. The Hot Chicken Tenders were crispy, juicy, and packed solid flavor with a nice heat level that built up without being overwhelming. The fries were decent and worked well as a side. This was the highlight of the night! Highly recommended. The wings were ok but i felt like it was more bones and skin than actual meat. These must have been some really small chickens. I've dined here before in the past and it was decent. This time it left a lot to be desired. The hotness was barely mild. I didn't even need a sip of water. The flavors are good but it didn't have the spice it advertised. The Mac and cheese is most likely kraft mac and cheese, which is wild for them to charge $5 for a small cup of it. They only offer 4 items - tenders and fries, slide and fries, tender & slider combo w/ fries, and loaded fries. It's a small menu but they do it well. The spice scale also goes from country style which is based fried chicken to Slappin+ which is HOT HOT HOT! I decided to try the tender combo at the hot level. After about 10 minutes our food was ready to go and we took it home to eat. Upon seeing it I could immediately tell this was real deal Nashville fried chicken (I've been to Nashville and knew what to look for). The chicken was fried to perfection with the perfect amount of heat baked into the breading. The fries were sprinkled with heat and were delicious dipped into the honey and slappin sauce they provided. The slider also looked tasty and both entrees came with two slices of bread. It was perfection from start to finish. Prices are fair, there is some seating inside but definitely more of a grab and go type place. They give out packets of Ketchup, hot sauce & honey. I havent really triedhoney on chicken but I've always heard it's an amazing combo so I gave it a shot here & wow, I totally loved it! It was juicy, sauce was plentiful, ingredients simple, some lettuce, a boatload of yellowish sauce. As for the side components, fries were not crispy, maybe that's the proper serving style, I like crispy fries personally. The side pickle slice was soggy, not crispy, also a personal preference to have crispy pickle slices. I unfortunately cannot give it five stars because of personal preference. It's on a busy street so parking is a little difficult. You get a good amount of food for an order which is great. My go to are their slappin fries- a lot of chicken, fries and their sauce- it's so good and can be a full meal because of how much food you get.
