I haven't been to Dave's too many times in NY which is crazy because when I was in LA & Houston that was my first stop from the airport. I couldn't wait for Dave's to come to NY & when it did it didn't measure up to the ones out of NY. Anyway, I just got mozzarella sticks cuz they looked so good. And they were, I'm gonna have to go back & get more soon. They have more items than they used to have so I may try other items. The service was really good. They all said hi & the person that took my order looked like the manager & he was super nice. I would definitely be back. read more

Dave's Hot Chicken - The front of the store - Chicken Shop Near Me - Carle Place, New York

Being from LA, Dave's Hot Chicken has been a total staple of mine for years. I used to hit up their very first location in East Hollywood back in 2017 those lines were insanely long, but it was always so worth it! That was my absolute spot. Since they've branched out and opened more locations, I've tried a few but honestly In New York this Carle Place location is the only one I truly love outside of home. The food is always incredible. The chicken is perfectly juicy on the inside and seriously crispy on the outside exactly how it's supposed to be. The ambiance gives you that cool, classic Dave's street art vibe, and the energy is great. Yes it can get busy, but the staff do a great job! The service is amazing, fast, and polite so the wait is never a heavy lift. read more

Hot mozz at its best. Went in to get the famous hot mozz and boy was it good. Got the extra hot mozz meal that came with seasoned fries and pickles. Was a great combo. The fries were seasoned perfectly. Crinkle cut with paprika and salt seasoning! The mozz slabs were mouthwatering. The extra hotness, the stretchiness and the honeyness just made me say mmmmmm. Adding the dave sauce have or another layer of flavor. Enjoyed every bite read more

Dave and I go way back more than 10 yrs back in California before the whole venture capital buyout... inconsistent batter, different chicken piece sizes , long lines and chaos... made the meals taste a whole lot better. But w/ this buyout, it's been perfected in every way, efficient , streamlined , great service and the same LA ambiance that hasn't changed ( only the people) . Everything about this place is nostalgic, and those founders definitely got this formula right (cuz there were a lot of copycats thereafter). If you like spice, chicken, and fried batter with potato buns and crispy fries and a nice clean kale slaw , Dave's your guy. read more

Fun atmosphere inside and out. I came here for some take out and the two guys at the register were super helpful as it was my first time. The menu was a little confusing at first. I ordered three varieties of nuggets: original, medium, and reaper. The reaper seasoning requires the recipient to sign a waiver in the event that the "heat" causes damage. The place looked pretty clean and well maintained overall. The kitchen was visible from the ordering station and the supervisors and packers were super attentive to who was waiting for their order and when it would be ready. They also had a separate huge screen with people's delivery orders organized by provider like Uber Eats, GrubHub, etc. The nuggets kept warm in their containers until I reached home. My s.o. and I tried them all and everything was perfect. The reaper was fire but also extremely hot, similar to when we tried the spiciest chicken sandwich challenge, but not nearly as bad, in a good way. The original is bomb. No flames just simple breaded chicken. And the medium was like a little kick of spicy. We enjoyed all of them. One star removed for cold french fries that came with the orders. It tasted like they were cold and waiting for someone to place the order so they could be served. Happy eats ! read more

Dave's Hot Chicken is a social media sensation chicken spot featuring tenders, fries, pickles and shakes. Prices are high for fast food but portions are huge and quality is worth it! After PDQ in Farmingdale closed, we were looking for another place with extraordinary chicken tenders on Long Island. My son saw Dave's Hot Chicken on social media. I love the story of how it started out of a garage in Hollywood and has now expanded across the U.S. I love a good entrepreneur success story. On this rainy December day after Christmas we were heading to Roosevelt Field Mall and decided to detour to Dave's. The parking lot was crazy and the place was pretty crowded but we managed to find a table quickly. The staff was nice and friendly. The decor was interesting .. hip without trying too hard. The big "Strong Island" sign emphasized local ties even though the chain started in LA. We first balked at the prices. But then we saw the serving sizes!! First, the chicken "tenders" are the size of chicken cutlets. The meals look expensive ($12 for 1 tender, pickles and fries) but a single tender is a full meal for most people! It's served on a slice of white bread, which is probably the only aspect of the entire meal that's not impressive! We ordered the large loaded fries ($17), a tender meal ($12) and 2 single tenders ($5+ each.) Again, keep in mind the tenders are huge. I'd rather have a single tender than two McDonald's snack wraps. So now, what you're probably wondering: How did it taste? Amazing!!! We got mild and no spice. The mild was just spicy enough but even the plain tenders were excellent -- crispy and clearly made with high quality, juicy chicken. The fries came fully loaded with Kale slaw, cheese, pickles, sauce, and 10 chicken bites plus Dave's sauce. The fries stayed crispy and delicious. I'm not a big fry person but these were fantastic. If you're in the area, definitely splurge on this fast food experience. I just hope they open a few closer to western Suffolk. read more

I drove by this location of Dave's Hot Chicken a few times and saw that it had a pretty big following. Finally came with a friend recently to try it for dinner. Seems like the place uses a lot of red and yellow in its marketing and is popular amongst young people. The vibe was pretty popping and lively when we walked in and the place was pretty packed out. I ordered the #1 combo (2 tenders w/ fries, $13) and my friend ordered the 2 sliders meal ($15). The total for my meal came out to $14.11. Unfortunately, the meals don't come with a drink, which was pretty disappointing. I found the chicken pieces in our meals to be pretty big. The tenders were pretty sizable and the sliders that my friend got seemed closer in size to actual chicken sandwiches. So that was good. I got the 'mild' level of spice. It wasn't spicy at all but the flavor of the rub was really good IMO. The chicken seemed like it was relatively high quality for fast food. The tender had a good crunch to it and the chicken was pretty moist. Overall the tender was excellent and I was impressed. The fries were pretty normal, crinkle cut fast food fries. Pretty similar / same to the fries you'd get a Shake Shack. They were good as well. The tenders meal also come with pieces of white bread, which were nothing special but appreciated. They also gave more food than I thought they would w/ the combo, but wasn't overwhelming. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by my meal at Dave's Hot Chicken. I guess they purposely don't include a drink in the meal so that you buy one but I think it's messed up they don't. I think the price point is almost where it should be, but too expensive by a few dollars, especially without including a drink. Also, it seems like the family meal options were pretty expensive as well, such as $50 for 10 tenders. Cheers. read more

This location is new to the area and has a very vibrant and modern design. The food was good the first time I came however the pictures of the sliders they have on the menu are very misleading making it seem the sliders are bigger than they are. After receiving the sliders it was very disappointing to see it was just a chicken tender cut in 4. The sliders were all connected not even cut. The food is good however after eating it a couple times it seems to lose its novelty. The staff is young and seem to need more training as they try to rush you when ordering, this has happened the 2/3 times I've been to this location. read more

Dave, I love you man. That was some damn good chicken! Normally I'd say that chicken was fire but on Thursday I was wiping my eyes from the heat. The spice level was hot, the next time I come I'll kick it down a notch. This is not "Nashville style" chicken, the heat is controlled by the spice rub. First time here, I grabbed a two piece chicken tender combo and a fountain drink. The service was great, the young man who rung up my order was polite and the dining room staff was constantly wiping down tables. The restaurant is set up like a typical fast food spot, there are also outdoor tables to enjoy if you want to dine al fresco. My order came out pretty quickly. I grabbed a table and took a bite of the spicy chicken. The chicken tender was cooked perfectly, very juicy. The heat? I tried to control it with their sauce, which reminded me of Chick-Fil-a sauce but man it came thru in every bite. Even the french fries were dusted with a little heat. I did love the crinkle cut fries, they added to the overall meal. Dave? This is the start of a beautiful relationship. Now come to Stony Brook read more

My wife and I finally decided to check out Dave's Hot Chicken after hearing so much buzz from friends and seeing it all over social media--and let me tell you, it lives up to the hype and then some. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a fun, energetic vibe--hip-hop music playing, the smell of crispy fried chicken in the air, and a neon-lit atmosphere that made it feel like more than just a quick bite. This was an experience. We ordered a combo to share: two sliders and fries, and also added some mac & cheese and kale slaw on the side because, why not go all in? I went for the "Hot" level and my wife chose "Mild", just to test the heat levels without completely burning our mouths. The chicken was perfectly fried, golden brown with that signature crunchy coating on the outside and juicy, flavorful meat inside. It's honestly some of the best chicken I've had--spicy, but not overwhelming, and the seasoning is on point. The sliders are huge--don't expect some small sandwich. The soft bun, the crunchy slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce bring it all together like magic. Every bite had texture and flavor. The fries were hot and seasoned well, not soggy or too salty--just right. Even the kale slaw was surprisingly good. I'm not usually a slaw person, but this one had a nice tang and freshness that balanced the heat from the chicken. We also really appreciated how clean the restaurant was. The staff were friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there--one even came by to ask if we were enjoying the food, which you don't always see in fast-casual spots. My wife, who's usually pretty picky about fried food, literally said, "This might be the best chicken sandwich I've ever had," and she meant it. We were both full, satisfied, and even ended up taking some leftovers home. The only warning I'd give is: if you're trying one of the spicier levels like "Extra Hot" or "Reaper", be ready! They're no joke. But for spice lovers, that's part of the fun. All in all, Dave's Hot Chicken absolutely delivered. Whether you're a spice lover or just looking for crispy, craveable chicken done right, this place hits the mark. We'll definitely be back--and next time, we're bringing friends. read more

The staff here are very polite and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised that amidst the crowd, they all remained calm and very pleasant. Food is served quickly and prices are affordable considering the amount of food. The chicken slider (hot) was indeed hot with a good flavor. The fries have a great crunch. But, soooo salty! Dave's Hot Chicken has finally made it to the Island!! My favorite hot chicken sandwich hands down and I'm so happy they're here. It's day two so the lines are extremely long but they're efficient and kept it moving. Customer Service? Amazing, 5 stars. I got 2 sliders and cheese fries and it was just like I remembered. Thick, juicy and spicy as hell! I love it!! I also ordered a single slider, mild for my wife and that's where something went wrong unfortunately. Maybe I'm missing something but as you can see in the picture it's a tender and a slice of bread with a couple of pickles. No sauce, slaw or bun, an actual slice of bread. I'm guessing we were mistakenly given just a tender. It looked so paltry next to everyone else's food lol. I gave my wife my bun and slaw and it was that brought it back to greatness. Other than that, it was amazing, I highly recommend Dave's and I'm thankful that the opened just far enough away that I can only go every now and then because if they were closer I would be there every day. read more

Came here with the girls on a Thursday for lunch, it was super busy & luckily we were able to get a table. Got 3 orders of the Dave's #1- Mild, which consists of 2 tenders & fries served with sliced bread, pickles & Dave's sauce. Service was very friendly, the food took awhile (15+ min.) but everything was really good and perfectly seasoned. They also gave me extra Dave's sauce packets. I loved the fries and the tenders were juicy & flavorful. Way better than my first time trying it at the Fresh Meadows loc. I'll definitely be back again! read more

Now this was my first experience at Dave's hot chicken in general (yes I'm late to the game) but boy am I glad I went. First off the service here was impeccable, for a quick bite everyone was very friendly and generous. The place is small, the seating inside can maybe accommodate about 30 people I would say? The decor is really nice. Of course I had to try one reaper slider, so I got one reaper (which I'll include a picture of) and one hot slider (forgot to take a pic of it) and fries. I asked for everything to be well done including the fries. Everything came out perfectly. They were extremely generous with Dave's sauce as well as ketchup. The reaper is hot! It's a good hot. As a fun of spicy food this was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection, the inside very moist with great potato buns holding the slider together with pickles. Absolutely delicious. I waited about 10 mins to eat my 2nd slider and fries, both still piping hot! Absolutely gem of a place. They also have a rewards program, definitely well worth it and I'm glad I tried it. Better late than never lol. read more

I had a terrible experience at this Dave's Hot Chicken location. I ordered buffalo chicken and paid for it. While waiting for my order, I noticed on the receipt that it had been entered as BBQ instead of buffalo. I went back to the counter and politely explained that I had ordered buffalo, not BBQ. Instead of correcting the mistake, the employee told me that the BBQ chicken had already been made. I explained that the error was made by their coworker when taking my order, so I shouldn't be expected to accept the wrong item. Rather than apologizing or offering to fix the mistake, the employee gave me an attitude and was rude throughout the interaction. I ended up leaving without my food and without a refund. This was completely unacceptable customer service. Mistakes happen, but it's how a business handles them that matters. Instead of taking responsibility, they treated me disrespectfully. Based on this experience, I won't be returning to this location--or to Dave's Hot Chicken at all. read more

Came for lunch today and am already excited to return. We ordered two number 13s- tenders and sliders, Mac n cheese, kale slaw , and two shakes. Prices are super fair and quality is there. The slider was phenom- huge piece of fried chicken on a roll with kale slaw and pickles. Meals are served with a generous portion of fries and extra pickles. Mac n cheese was creamy and I loved the extra kale slaw (not too soaked in mayo). Vanilla shake was super sweet but I guess that's the goal. My toddler gave her strawberry shake two thumbs up. Space is clean, lots of fun drinks but little glasses if you just want water too. Will def be back. read more

I've never been to a fast food place that is so kind toward the customers with such attention to detail in today's world . I don't know if it's specific to this location or part of the culture at Dave locations . The gentlemen helping me was kind enough to take the time to explain the menu to me . I also saw them holding the door open for a prolonged time for an elderly handicapped couple . Food : very good chicken slider . They make you sign a waiver for the reaper so I got the extra hot . I love spicy food and my mouth was burning . Next time I got the hot and I wish it was a bjt more spicy . They give extra pickles which helps cut the heat . The fries are good . Definitely one of the better chicken sandwiches out there . I don't know any other in the neighborhood that compares . read more

La la la lavaaa. Chi-chi-chi-chicken. I've never heard of Dave's Hot Chicken but it sure got me wanting to sing the Steve's Lava Chicken song (IYKYK). Lots of hype about this place so I made sure to come by... several weeks after opening and during lunch to avoid crowds of course! Per a sign on the door, online pick up are now available for those interested. The "slider" is basically a full size chicken sandwich. You choose the level of spice. I chose hot and I thought it was true to the spice level. I have to say I am very impressed! Dare I say it but it is on par with Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich... if not maybe even better! The batter was just right. The chicken was large yet maintained its juiciness. The fries were not anything special. Drinks do not come with the meals so be sure to order a drink separately (or ask for a cup for free water). Workers here are very pleasant. Really cool decor. Next time I may need to try the milkshakes. read more

Never heard of Dave's Hot Chicken until I saw they were opening in Nassau and there was a huge buzz about it. Figured we'd go check it out after a kids outing that was around the area. Considering it's a fast food joint, my husband did not have high expectations of the place. Oh boy...he was chewing and chomping away while repeatedly saying "MMMMM!!!", "WOWWW", "I did not expect this". My boys were nodding their heads and putting their thumbs up. We had another family with us and they were very happy with the food too. You can order based on your heat tolerance, ranging from 7 levels of spiciness, No Spice to Reaper. Their chicken slider was very crispy, juicy, tender and absolutely satiating. The soft bun with the pickles and cole slaw, along with the big juicy bite of fried chicken definitely hit the spot! We devoured the Oreo milkshake, it was the perfect milkshake. My husband and I don't even like milkshakes! It was a perfect combo of ice cream and Oreo cookie bites. Both our kids loved their the chicken mini sliders. They are basically the same as the chicken slider but with the chicken bites. The chicken bites have its own different marinade. Whilst the chicken slider is a big piece of fried chicken with Dave's signature drizzle sauce on it, the nuggets were a little more wet with a smokey and zesty zing to it. Although I haven't been there in a long time, this spot reminds me of a less fussy and less expensive version of Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken. DEFINITELY COMING BACK SOON!! Very satisfying and hits the spot 200%! read more

Quick service, plenty of parking but not a lot of seating for how busy it gets. They do offer outdoor seating as well but not a lot. It's pretty clean and there is a person who goes around to clean the tables as people leave. Chicken is really good and so are their shakes. Everything is on the pricey side but having said that - we would go again. We got 40 Dave's bites hot box 10/10 - no spice (you can not ask to have half no spice and half another which is pretty annoying as my kids don't like spice but I love it; they also don't have any spice sauce on the side as their spice is more of a dry rub). Dave's bites are the size of nuggets and they were tender and tasty (dark meat). Two slider meal - hot spice: 9/10 came with pickles and fries (fries were good). Hot spice was very spicy where it really hits you at the end. Each slider had one tender in it with their cabbage slaw and pickles - one slider was the perfect size for me. Two tender meal - medium spice: 8/10 came with pickles and fries. Their side Mac and cheese is very small (not enough for a kid if that's all they are eating); but otherwise tasty 8/10. Oreo vanilla milkshake - 9/10; you choose the topping (Oreo) and a flavor for the ice cream (chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla). It was very tasty and would have been perfect if it wasn't so melted/watery. The vanilla ice cream reminded me of Hershey's ice cream which is one of my favorites. They offer ketchup, honey, and/or Dave's sauce (not spicy at all) packets. Their fountain drinks are refillable from the soda machine which was nice. read more

Okay so chicken places are popping up everywhere and of course I gotta try all of them. On my chicken meter- this rates very high! From the ambiance walking in, to the super friendly register folks- great vibes to start. I got a bunch of things to try them all in different spice levels. Now a bit about me- your girl can only handle a little bit of spice. I got mini sliders and nuggets (the mini sliders are pretty much a nugget in between a roll that tastes a bit sweet like kings Hawaiian with slaw and a pickle). The nuggets come with a slice of bread at the bottom and pickles. I have to say the chicken was very moist and not too salty. Very tasty! For my low spice tolerance, I thought the medium was actually not too bad and the spicy was more tolerable than expected (but it did get spicy after a few bites). I also got more kale slaw on the side and Mac and cheese. I recommend both. Just a slight drawback- the food does take a while to come out and it wasn't that busy. From ordering to receiving my takeout order, I waited 18 minutes. You can order ahead tho! Ask for more of their Dave's sauce and put that sht on everything! read more

I was really excited to come here, seeing as I had heard so much about their chicken. They took our order quickly and it was ready in a timely manner. The restaurant was very busy, so we weren't sure if we would find a seat, but they were happy to make it to go just in case. There wasn't really an vibe, just a bunch of young kids eating food. It was pretty busy, so honestly I don't even know what music was playing. The food was PIPING, so it was definitely fresh. We ordered a tender, a slider, and nuggets. I was scared the tender would be too thick, but honestly it was fine. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the "sauce". It seemed like they just dumped the chicken in grease and threw on seasoning. Maybe that's how it's supposed to be, but it made me feel really ill and I only had a few bites of each item. Personally, I would rather it be an actual sauce, rather than what seemed like oil. My favorite item was the slider because the slaw cut the grease. The pickles were also great, pretty salty, the way I prefer. The sauce and fries were good, but for me, it wasn't worth the drive. read more
