Soooo good! Finally a delicious chicken sandwich! It was the right amount of sauce and pickles. The chicken is in tenders form which I love! So much variety to choose from as well. I went after school with my friend because we wanted some food. So when we got there the cashier looked like he was hiding because he was under the counter. I placed my order and he was asking me to leave a review and i said no i didnt want to. When i said no he looked kind of mad. When i received my order i got way less portion then i usually get when i order mad fries. It is usually filled to the max but this time It was almost less than half what i usually get. I just visited MAD CHICKEN in Glen Cove a few days ago. I was excited to try this place because it seemed like a good fit for the neighborhood. I went inside to order and was pleasantly surprised at the makeover and construction. It looks great with new paint and cleaned up a bit. It's spacious, and the tables are not on top of one another, so it's comfortable if you are eating inside. The guys behind the counter were friendly and accommodating, although I wish they had explained the different sandwiches better. There is no paper menu with a description, so it's hard to look up at a "fast food" board and order quickly. Although they said everything is made to order and isn't fast food, I am not sure I would have a lit-up board behind the counter like a McDonald's if you are hoping to make this more of a restaurant type of establishment. I looked at the menu and wanted a few different sandwiches. Only one or two came with grilled chicken "tenders" instead of fried chicken. I guess you can't make substitutions, and I didn't realize that all of the chicken was chicken tenders. You are not getting a regular piece of chicken, but that was fine. I ordered three different sandwiches and a few sides. I was a little surprised at the prices. $13 for a chicken sandwich and nothing else seemed a little pricey. The sides were ok. The onion rings were greasy and over-fried, so no one ate them. The pickles were good but a little soggy. I thought the sandwiches were good, but there was a lot of sauce on them, which made them messy and a little soggy. If I returned, I would probably try ordering sauce on the side. I hope this place does well, but I think the price point for the neighborhood is a little high. The food is good, but in all honesty, if Chick-fil-A was around the corner, I probably would go there instead. I didn't taste that much of a difference to make me not eat Chick-fil-A. Offering a value combo at a decent price would help. By the time you order 3 sandwiches and 3 sides, you are well over $50. No drinks were ordered. Stay away place is empty for a reason. Guy that took my order looks miserable you can tell he hates his job. I went in to order take out. Establishment was very clean and set up nicely. Person taking my order was friendly. When ordering he had asked if I wanted the combo with my orders. Combos come with fries but I wanted tater tots. I asked how much they were to change it (additional fee) but he said it would be the $4.99 for the tots which were the price. They should maybe think about doing other add ons for an additional fee. I did order the tots which were very good, but not enough of them to charge $4.99. I also ordered the BBQ crispy chicken wrap. WOW EXCELLENT FOOD !!!! so I ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders thinking it would not be enough as usual with every other restaurant where they give you the smallest tenders around but Mad Chicken happily surprised me !!, they were big and I didn't finish cause I was full . I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad, fried pickles and mango habanero traditional wings for about $37. My food was pretty disappointing except for the fried pickles which were AMAZING but the Caesar salad was just chopped lettuce, a few shaves of Parm cheese, a few croutons, about 1oz of chicken breast and 1 packet of Ken's Caesar dressing. The habanero wings were advertised as one of the hotter sauces on the menu along with a few others but there was absolutely no heat, absolutely no flavor and tasted nothing like mango or habanero. They tasted more like a honey bbq possibly. It's such a nice establishment to have in the area with friendly staff and I see it attracting more of a younger crowd but they have to work on their menu items a bit more.
