Such a fantastic addition to downtown Glen Cove! The food is phenomenal--the chicken is incredibly juicy on the inside with a perfect, golden crunch on the outside, and the Mac & Cheese bowl is an absolute must-try. Stopped in on a whim because we were in the area and hungry for something quick. We ordered the chicken deluxe sandwich and mad fries with mad chipotle sauce. Honestly the wait time was longer than we expected for two items (and with us being the only customers seated), but the food came out fresh, piping hot, and delicious! This is more of a personal preference, but I wish their sandwich came with a single breaded piece of chicken rather than multiple tenders because my sandwich was falling apart while eating. I just visited MAD CHICKEN in Glen Cove a few days ago. I was excited to try this place because it seemed like a good fit for the neighborhood. I went inside to order and was pleasantly surprised at the makeover and construction. It looks great with new paint and cleaned up a bit. It's spacious, and the tables are not on top of one another, so it's comfortable if you are eating inside. The guys behind the counter were friendly and accommodating, although I wish they had explained the different sandwiches better. There is no paper menu with a description, so it's hard to look up at a "fast food" board and order quickly. Although they said everything is made to order and isn't fast food, I am not sure I would have a lit-up board behind the counter like a McDonald's if you are hoping to make this more of a restaurant type of establishment. I looked at the menu and wanted a few different sandwiches. Only one or two came with grilled chicken "tenders" instead of fried chicken. I guess you can't make substitutions, and I didn't realize that all of the chicken was chicken tenders. You are not getting a regular piece of chicken, but that was fine. I ordered three different sandwiches and a few sides. I was a little surprised at the prices. $13 for a chicken sandwich and nothing else seemed a little pricey. The sides were ok. The onion rings were greasy and over-fried, so no one ate them. The pickles were good but a little soggy. I thought the sandwiches were good, but there was a lot of sauce on them, which made them messy and a little soggy. If I returned, I would probably try ordering sauce on the side. I hope this place does well, but I think the price point for the neighborhood is a little high. The food is good, but in all honesty, if Chick-fil-A was around the corner, I probably would go there instead. I didn't taste that much of a difference to make me not eat Chick-fil-A. Offering a value combo at a decent price would help. By the time you order 3 sandwiches and 3 sides, you are well over $50. No drinks were ordered. I placed my order and he was asking me to leave a review and i said no i didnt want to. When i said no he looked kind of mad. Combos come with fries but I wanted tater tots. I asked how much they were to change it (additional fee) but he said it would be the $4.99 for the tots which were the price. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad, fried pickles and mango habanero traditional wings for about $37. My food was pretty disappointing except for the fried pickles which were AMAZING but the Caesar salad was just chopped lettuce, a few shaves of Parm cheese, a few croutons, about 1oz of chicken breast and 1 packet of Ken's Caesar dressing. The habanero wings were advertised as one of the hotter sauces on the menu along with a few others but there was absolutely no heat, absolutely no flavor and tasted nothing like mango or habanero. They tasted more like a honey bbq possibly. It's such a nice establishment to have in the area with friendly staff and I see it attracting more of a younger crowd but they have to work on their menu items a bit more.
