Baby Back Rib Combo
Wilson V.

Pretty disappointing, but honestly expected. Good BBQ just isn't really a NY specialty, but I keep trying, hoping I'll be proven wrong. We ordered the baby back ribs combo and the baby & 1 meat combo. The baby back ribs were drenched in sauce and way too sweet. They were okay, but I probably wouldn't order them again. With the baby & 1 meat combo, I went with the brisket, and it wasn't much better than the ribs. The brisket was soggy. Overall it felt pretty typical of a large chain restaurant. Maybe the food is better straight out of the kitchen. I think the cardboard takeout containers made it worse. The food probably went in piping hot and ended up sweating in the container during delivery.

Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que was catered at Harlem Hospital Center, and everything tasted freshly prepared and delicious. The ribs were easily the best item in the selection--tender, flavorful, and done right--but the hamburger was good too. The mac and cheese had the perfect comfort balance: not too sharp, but still chewy and cheesy. I'd definitely recommend making the trip if you're in NYC. Even a 25-mile drive would be worth it if you're heading in that direction.

My food came out fast which was good. I asked for well done wings & they did it. The ranch was good & the rib tips were tasty. It was the lunch special & I got the banana pudding it was melted a bit so it didn't taste as I remember it but it was ƙ.

By far the worse BBQ I have ever had. The place was a bit of a dump, but that's ok, I wasn't going for the ambiance. The St. Louis style ribs were pretty bad, but edible. However the brisket was horrendous. It looked horrendous and tasted worse. How the server was even ok with serving it to customers is beyond me. My serving of the brisket tasted like reheated rubber. My son's serving looked and tasted like expired dried out gas station beef jerky. Never again.

This BBQ spot has been around for more than 10 years and came here for the first time for lunch. The restaurant has a bar area and you have the option of full service or just seating. Service was friendly and efficient. The chopped pork salad was good as well as the pulled bbq chicken lunch platter. It is a large spacious restaurant. Good place if you like BBQ.

This was my first time doing a pickup order from here via DoorDash and they cancelled my order 5 minutes before my chosen time while I was heading there. I called the store and spoke to the nicest employee, possibly the store manager. He said he don't see my order, apologized (my order was cancelled bc they ran out of baby back ribs) and is willing to retake and make my order right away. I arrived 10 minutes later, my order was ready as promised, and he even took 10% off my check for the inconvenience. I ordered the burnt ends, beef brisket, St. Louis-style ribs, rib tips with sides of sweet corn, steamed brocolli and famous fries. All the meats tasted decent but some were very dry & chewy, I needed a lot of bbq sauce bc it was bland on its own. The corn were not sweet, the ribs and fries were probably the best out of everything. The ribs were seasoned well, though they could be meatier and the fries reminded me of KFC's discontinued potato wedges. Will come back to try their baby back ribs next time.

A pretty good straight to business bbq spot with good food and great customer service. Nothing really spectacular about it as me being in New York obvs this isn't a bbq city / state however I do love their famous feasts for some takeout. The brisket could be a little more tender, however I do love how accommodating they are with the substitutions and condiments. A very good overall spot that gives you plenty of bang for your buck.

If it is Barbecue you are looking for, then you have come to right place. There is decent selection of items to choose from. The bargain of the century is the feast for two and the feast for four. You receive a smorgasbord of items served on a galvanized garbage can lid. You can select different items to your taste. Be cautious, a feast for two can comfortably feed 4 people. Since the pandemic, things have changed. The decor has been updated and now you walk in and order your food and pay first and then you are seated. Not sure how I feel about that. I guess the only advantage is once you finished eating, you don't have to wait around for the wait staff to bring your bill. We wanted to order an item to go and we had to leave our seats and order it and pay at the counter and then return to our seats.

Smoked wings

OMG! OMG! OMG! Famous Daves in New York! Just as delicious as Virginia. The Burnt Ends are succulent and melt in your mouth, the smoked wings are awesome and the BBQ Feast for 2 is amazing! Our courteous server Sarah was terrific! The best damn BBQ period!!! A treasure on Long Island.

The dining room is anchored by an olive tree that rises improbably from the center of the floor, its branches catching the light from a constellation of milk-glass globes. Along the bar, bottles glow against whitewashed brick, and the marble counter is set with striped linen napkins. The effect is part farmhouse and part supper club, and it is more inviting than either would be on its own. The menu favors familiar dishes executed with care. A glazed salmon arrives lacquered and deeply caramelized at the edges, resting on wilted spinach and a bright hash of corn, peas, and shallot, all bound by a butter sauce worth chasing with a fork. The fish sandwich is a study in restraint: a well-seasoned, pan-crisped fillet, a soft brioche bun, and a tangle of slaw, with a plump pickle and coleslaw alongside, as tradition demands. Dessert is where The Shed allows itself some indulgence. A dense, fudgy brownie, dusted with powdered sugar and set beside a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting into chocolate sauce, recalls childhood without apology. Notably, the restaurant takes its non-alcoholic drinks seriously. The mocktail list is broad and thoughtful, a welcome gesture of hospitality toward diners who would rather skip the spirits without skipping the fun. Service, led on this evening by a warm and unhurried server, matched the room. Tables linger here, and no one seems to mind. The Shed isn't trying to reinvent anything. It simply does the familiar things well, in a room that makes you want to stay for another round of dessert and another hour of talk.

We've always loved his cooking and have since followed him to Monroe's while still frequenting Tesoro's. We started our dinner with an Appetizer of Rice Balls followed by an entree of Salmon in Orange sauce for my partner, and Shrimp & Clam Fra Diavolo over Linguine for myself. As we started to order our choices they also informed us they had initiated a new Price Fixe menu in case we decided to change. We stuck with our original choices but decided after perusing the Price Fixe menu we have to come back very shortly as it offers a great value. What's different about Monroe's is that it's offered 7 days a week except holidays, versus other restaurants that tend to limit the days or hours you can order off a Price fixe menu. It s a good deal at $39.95 for 4-Courses starting with a variety of Appetizers, followed by a choice of two salads, multiple Entrée choices including Pastas, various Chicken dishes, Skirt Steak, Port Chop or Pork Medallions, and Seafood including Red Snapper, Salmon, or Sole. Finishing up with a choice of several desserts to choose from. A complimentary glass of Wine or Beer to also accompany your meal. I believe our first visit was almost two years ago, and we've continued coming back ever since. Nestled inside Eisenhower Park and connected to the former Carlyle wedding venue, The Union feels a little tucked away--which is part of its charm. The menu has everything you'd expect from a higher-end steakhouse, but what sets The Union apart is that they also do sushi--and somehow nail it just as well as they do a filet mignon or roast chicken. On our most recent visit, we noticed the menu had been updated. Thankfully, all of our favorites are still there, with just a few tweaks. I also love the new cocktail menu design, which features photos of the drinks along with descriptions. They make a terrific smoked Old Fashioned here, which is generally how I start my meals at The Union. They have a great raw bar along with a huge selection of appetizers. The slab bacon is awesome, and the French dip sliders could easily make a meal on their own despite technically being an appetizer. There's a great selection of steaks, including a couple of dry-aged options for two. Steaks are generally à la carte, but the sides are reasonably priced, mostly in the $10-$15 range. The duck-fat potatoes are excellent, and I'm a big fan of their creamed spinach. Then there's the sushi. Their signature Union Roll is the standout, but honestly, we've had great luck with all of their specialty rolls. Now, do your best to save room for dessert because I'm going to spill the beans on one of The Union's secrets: they have some of the best ice cream I've ever had in my life! I realize it's a little ridiculous to rave about classic vanilla ice cream, but just wait. Take that first spoonful and I guarantee there's a good chance your reaction will be: "Damn, that is some tasty ice cream!" Even the whipped cream is ridiculously good and almost gives the ice cream a run for its money. Expect to leave The Union very full--and usually carrying some leftovers home. The setting is another big plus. Outdoor dining overlooks the golf course and makes for a beautiful backdrop, and when the weather gets cooler, the fire pits on the back patio make it a great place to hang out with a drink. The wine list is solid as well. Valet parking is another nice touch, especially since events at Eisenhower Park on weekends can sometimes make parking and traffic a little tricky. After nearly two years and multiple visits, The Union continues to deliver. Steak, sushi, cocktails, a beautiful setting, and apparently life-changing vanilla ice cream. What more do you need?

First off, the inside is beautiful. They did an incredible job with the renovation, and I loved all the little details, especially the custom 300-pound manhole covers they're using as tables around the bar. Even better, everyone working there was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Now the food! We started with the Baked Clams, and these were legit. You could've served them to me at an Italian restaurant and I wouldn't have questioned it. The Nonna's Ribs were probably one of the biggest surprises--slow-braised pork ribs with cherry peppers and finished on the grill. Fall-off-the-bone tender, tons of flavor, and I loved that they weren't just drenched in BBQ sauce. The Firebird crispy chicken sandwich was fantastic, and the Steakhouse Sandwich with sliced NY strip, mushrooms, provolone, crispy onions and horseradish aioli was also very well done. But that Manhole Burger deserves some special attention. Beef, American cheese, caramelized onions and dijonnaise on brioche. Simple combination, executed REALLY well. This was an outstanding burger and absolutely something I'd order again. And I can't leave out the fries. They're hand-cut in house, super thin and crispy, and exactly how I like my fries. Think that addictive thin fast-food style, except made fresh and much better quality. If you remember this location from its previous ownership, give it another shot. This is a completely different experience. Beautiful restaurant, genuinely friendly staff and food that exceeded my expectations. The menu has options for burgers, hot dogs, fries, salads, shakes, floats, and desserts. I ordered a Yellow Label Burger ($13.45) and a Strawberry shake ($6.75). My husband and I shared a Farm Salad ($9.75). The Yellow Label Burger comprises of USDA Prime Beef, homemade fried mac n cheese patty, lettuce, tomato on a potato bun. This was delicious! I liked how after biting into the crispy, breaded exterior it gives way to a hot, molten cheese center that oozes perfectly over beef. The Farm Salad which consisted of spring mix, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and raspberry vinaigrette on the side was also very very very tasty, fresh, and a good portion. While the hand cut fries were wonderfully crispy and flavorful, the burger was kind of disappointing - not terrible, but the bun tasted stale and the meat was very bland. Also I ordered the burger cooked medium but it came out pink in the center, not my preference for chopped meat. Maybe I ordered the wrong item? An entire hour for food that was nothing special and the smallest portions I've ever seen. The staff was nice but seemed unprepared and unsure and no one knew the specials, no one could answer a single question, and everything moved at the speed of a snail!!! on!!! sedatives!!! And honestly, the food is just not good. Nothing stood out, nothing worth waiting an hour for, and definitely not worth the price. And the thing is... if they were busy, I'd honestly be like "okay, fine, it happens." But I was literally 1/3 tables in the whole place. Hard to give any grace when it's that empty and still this bad!!! When it's finally Friday and you're excited for dinner out... this ain't it!!! No wonder OpenTable offered me 1000 points to come here lol. Update: We were so over it that we asked for the dessert (included with the prix fixe) to go. Ended up eating it at home in sweats and that was actually the best part of the whole night. The s'mores cookie skillet wasn't bad. So yeah... 2 stars instead of 1 and both of those stars belong to the cookie!!!
