Came here for lunch with a friend and I'll DEFINITELY be spinning the block! They have an amazing lunch special with super cheap mimosas everyday. Perfect place to catch up & get lit on a budget. What was even better is that the food was amazing! I enjoyed everything I ate; from appetizer to entree. The drinks were also pretty tasty and strong enough for a big guy like me. Donna was an amazing host, and the overall vibe of the place was great. I stopped by for happy hour and pasta night, and while I enjoyed my visit, I do have a bit of constructive feedback. The margarita was a little too juice-heavy for my taste, and the pasta could have been seasoned better. I read the menu outside a few months ago and someone else told me this restaurant had a peach cobbler. I was excited to have it and check out the menu. I asked the young lady who answered the phone if it was true they had peach cobbler and she said yes. My wife and I went to the restaurant to try it. The staff was very nice and the decor was warm and cozy. It was busy inside and we were excited. We received the menu. I got to look over the entire menu. I was disappointed to see no vegetarian dishes on the menu. I would encourage the owner to do some research and add a couple. THERE ARE A LOT OF VEGETARIANS OUT HERE! The second and most disappointing fact is while looking at the menu for peach cobbler, I found peach baklava. There is no comparison between the two. We weren't happy but decided to give it a shot. When the food came out, it was lukewarm. My worst fears were realized that this was not peach cobbler. I ate it' paid the bill and left. Came for Sunday brunch and we enjoyed our experience. The restaurant was clean and well decorated. Ample parking(satisfying a pet peeve of mine). There was a DJ, friendly staff, and an attentive server for our table. We had the shrimp and grits with a side of turkey sausage, the brunch burger, and bottomless Bellini's and Rum Punch. The alcohol did the job, the food was very good, well seasoned, hot, and great portions. I loved the garlic aioli on the burger so much that I had to ask for extra; a special shout out for the shrimp and grits, I typically don't like this dish, but at the Guest House it was spectacular. I would suggest putting some appetizers on the brunch menu to give folks an opportunity to sample some other dishes without having to commit to a full entree. Will be back. read more

On Sunday July 19th My daughter Porscha and myself celebrated a wonderful woman's birthday her name is Shanene. We had a great time at The Guest House Bistro. A lovely young lady name Lia took very good care of us, I had the Branzino with wild rice and vegetables, Porscha and Shanene had the Shrimp and Grits delicious. The food and Live D.J. was on point! Here's the Scoop! I came here for a dinner gathering of friends sending off a couple who is moving south. My dear friends will be missed here in New York. First off as you approach this venue it's a store front entrance. Small but long. The small is utilized well. The ambiance gives off night club but it's a bistro. The DJ was playing the music extremely loud so have conversations was very difficult until we asked our waitress to have them lower the music. Our waitress was very friendly and moved quickly to get our appetizers out and drinks. We were a group of 10. The decor is black and silver with white linen tablecloths. The menu had some great items as did the appetizers. The lollipop lamb chops and crab cakes on the appetizer menu were delicious! Prices were ok and portions were not large. Good was tasty. I ordered the short ribs with garlic mash and spinach. Very tasty. My honey ordered the oxtail pasta. Delicious also. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. The dessert menu had peach cobbler, cheese cake, brownie with ice cream and I believe carrot cake. However, we didn't order any because we were full. The drinks were on point! Whewww! We ordered a 2for of the Long Island Ice tea. My goodness it was rough! The presentation was fabulous. It came in a decanter that was clear and it looked delicious with sliced lemon etc. loved it! I came here before for my friend's real estate event and I was happy to come back because the food was great. We came back for happy hour. I ordered more than half of the menu! I couldn't believe they had lamb chops on there for $7!! I'm not even a person that likes that too much but I got two orders. lol it was just so tender and well seasoned. My overall experience at the Guest House was amazing. The decor was cute, seating spacious, environment inviting. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the lamb chops with mixed veggies. The lamb chops were an absolute delight. They were tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Cooked to perfection, each bite had a beautiful sear on the outside with a succulent, slightly pink center that melted in my mouth. The seasoning was well-balanced which enhanced the natural richness of the lamb without overpowering it. The mixed veggies were simply deliciousl. They were cooked just right, tender yet crisp. The seasoning on the veggies was flavorful. I tried my daughter's shrimp and grits. Let me preface by saying I am not a fan of grits but have now been converted. I can't even describe it...I just wanted more. There were other dishes on the table, we were all very happy with our meals. The wait staff were all very very pleasant and professional. Arrived for Sunday Brunch at noon so they had been open for an hour already. The DJ was just setting up and was quite engaging. There was just one other table besides ours in the dining area. Our server was attentive and polite. She was quite knowledgeable of the menu and the flavors of the food. I had the shrimp & grits which was good. Came here for lunch and we were delighted with the "duo" menu! You can mix and match items from any two categories (soup, salad, pasta, entree, 1/2 flatbread). So for example, you could do a chicken capri sandwich with 1/2 cheese flatbread, or a Moroccan pasta with greek salad. The lunch is a fantastic deal, especially considering most of these same items (and same portion sizes) are $17+ when ordered at dinner time or off the regular menu. This was probably my fourth or fifth time at the RnB brunch here and it continues to deliver. Usually I come alone and sit at the bar, but today I brought out a group of ladies to celebrate a friend's bridal brunch and Guest House Bistro handled the vibe perfectly. It was a lighter crowd than I am used to seeing, which actually worked in our favor. The DJs kept the energy going the whole time and clearly paid attention to who was in the room. The music felt curated to us and that made a big difference. If you are looking for a spot that actually commits to the RnB brunch experience and not just the concept of one, this is it. We had a 2 o'clock brunch reservation and were seated promptly upon arrival. We ordered the bottomless rum punch, but the first round was extremely watery it tasted like it had no rum at all. We requested another one, and the second drink actually had rum in it. They also had a DJ the music was very loud. We were practically screaming at each other across the table. For food, we ordered the shrimp BLT sandwiches. The wait was longer than expected, especially since the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. When the food arrived, it tasted fine, but at $25, I didn't feel it was worth the price. On the positive side, the staff was friendly. I visited this establishment several times before I decided to write my review. If you like mediocre and severely overpriced food with a side of attitude - this is just the place for you. Customer service skills of both FOH and BOH leave much to be desired. Very poor selection of drinks. Tap water tasted like it came from the bathroom sink. Right temperatures were missed in every dish. I even got a bar code sticker from a store on my charred lemon- expediting and quality control must not be present in this establishment. An absolutely outstanding dining experience. The chef truly knows how to create memorable dishes. The octopus was perfectly cooked--tender with just the right texture. The mussels came in what might be the best sauce I've ever had, so good you don't want to leave a drop behind. For my entrée, the pork chop was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection. And the hot buns for the table--buttered on the bottom--were spectacular and dangerously addictive. The service was refreshingly relaxed, which suited us perfectly since we weren't in a rush at all. I recently dined here with my husband and sister. The businesses in this section have been changing over the years and now The Guest House is a nice addition. The restaurant is set up as a casual fare in the front with high top and bar seating. The back area is the more formal sit down dining. The bathrooms were very clean which is always a good sign. The front of house was pretty busy but the back was just us and one other table for a Wednesday night. The drink menu has a good variety of cocktails and wine. They also have a selection of mocktails and soft drinks if you want something without alcohol. I had the Island Pom Straw mocktail which was strawberry and pomegranate puree with cucumber, lime, lemon and club soda. I liked how balanced the flavors of the drink was and it was super refreshing. My sister got the fig martini which she said was delicious and enjoyed the blend of elderflower with the fig, melon, lemon and pineapple. For starters we shared the crispy duck wings. Wow this is a dish definitely not to pass on. One serving comes with five. The duck was super tender and the sauce on the wings was just the right coverage. The tang of the sweet sauce paired well with the saltiness of the chopped peanuts on top. For my entree I got the 18oz bone in rib eye with garlic mashed potatoes, asparagus and the peppercorn cognac sauce. I loved that the sauce was creamy and paired well with the steak. The dish was presented already cut, but they still provided a steak knife to cut it down further. My sister got the Moroccan pasta which was very unique too. The sauce was creamy and and had a vibrant rose color. The shrimp was very fresh. The only slight miss was the olive oil cake. Part of the cake interior was a little cold while the rest of the cake was warm. The warm part was better. They had topped the cake with a marmalade like glaze which I thought overpowered the cake. I would have suggested using the orange zest in the cake batter and maybe topping the cake with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Otherwise we really enjoyed our meal. Our server was great and was very attentive to make sure our table and the other table next to us was taken care of. We would consider coming back in the future. read more

The service here is unbelievably slow. We didn't even get our drink order in until sitting for 30 minutes. The drinks weren't even good. The food was OK , the lobster bisque , skirt steak and short rib were good , but the mussels were extremely bland and the branzino was so overcooked. It took almost 45 minutes just to get the check after we finished eating. From start to finish we were there for 2.5 hours. There were only 3 of us. I will not be dining here again. read more

Came here on a Sunday for their bottomless brunch with a group of 5. They seated us in the back which was fine but I think this contributed to the bad service. It took forever to get everything from water, to drinks to food (and we ordered everything as soon as we were greeted by a server). The service was so bad I had to walk to the bar upfront (the bar in the back was closed for some reason) several times to physically get drinks for my group. It was meant to be bottomless but I had to request pitchers after I saw other tables had them, and we were only given one drink after 1.5 hrs in. I had a burger and fries, both were good but came out cold. Others in my group had steak, it was a good size and everyone said it was tasty. Their rum punch was good but the other drinks weren't great, especially the margaritas, it had way too much tequila and their peach bellini was basically champagne. Our waitress was nice and did the best she could but she seemed very overwhelmed. The busboys were nice too but could use some training. They were more concerned with talking up guests, I had to clear our table. In general I think they need to do a better job of preparing for brunch since reservations are required so they know the turn out beforehand. Train your staff, maybe pre- make drinks to keep up with demand and staff correctly to keep up with volume. And always offer pitchers if you're advertising a bottomless brunch. This is a beautiful relatively new restaurant with a very unique menu that has a little something for everyone including kids. Drinks were strong and delicious. Appetizers were good, but the entrees could've been better. I had the salmon which was flavorful but a bit salty and over cooked. My husband had the oxtail pasta which he enjoyed overall but mentioned it was salty and could've used a bit more sweetness to the sauce . Service was a little slow despite the restaurant being relatively empty since we went at an off peak time.
