Great clean location inside and out with pleasant staff smiling looking to assist you with your selections. Didn't realize that they have such a large selection of savoy selections as well. I always assumed The French Workshop to be a designer styled confectionate bakery. This they definitely are, but with much more. This pop in at this location I selected to grab a small 6pk of fresh French style Macaroons in a variety of flavors: Strawberry, Raspberry, Lemon, Passionfruit, Pistachio and a seasonal Pumpkin. Texture and flavor fillings very on point to what was described. Would highly recommend this location, especially to those with a sweet tooth that appreciates appropriate portion sizes. read more

A beautiful interior and wonderful treats are immediately undermined by terrible service, making for the wrong kind of lasting experience. We arrived at 8:35 p.m. with 9 people, knowing they closed at 9 p.m. We asked upon entry if they were still serving. The answer was yes, but as we began placing orders, we immediately started getting pushback, like the hot lava cake is always served cold. They said we couldn't heat it, sorrys from them as they explained we closed at 9 - they were ALL clearly more focused on getting out at 9 p.m. versus serving the droves of people still funneling in. As they were plating out food to stay, part of the staff noticed we were planning to stay and eat, so of course they started flipping seats up onto the table so we could sit. This was going on all while the other diners were still seated and trying to enjoy their food. We were forced to stand in the doorway and eat off our trays. The staff was 90% engaged in leaving and preparing to leave versus serving the 25 people who were there. We went to the cars to drink or old and cold coffee. We weren't alone long, because at 9 p.m. they turned off the lights and told the 20 people they were closed and they had to leave! The folks leaving were aghast, many cursing as they exited. I took the opportunity to speak with some of them, and they were in utter shock! Owners....watch the closing tapes of December 30 from the Massapequa location. What a wonderful find in Wantagh! I was looking for an Italian pastry shop and the French workshop popped up in my search, I was so glad we went. The store is beautiful and clean, as soon as you walk in the smell of coffee and pasties is divine! There are so many varieties, I wished I could order one of each to try. The baguettes were so good, we order a couple of pastries I had the raspberry tart that was so yummy! Also tried the crème brulle cheesecake and another chocolate pastry that was filled with chocolate mouse and hazelnuts, I wish I could remember what it was called, so good! We also took some sugar cookies home and they were fresh. The staff was super helpful and willing to answer any questions we had, they also serve sandwiches and quiche, I can't wait to go back! read more

Great coffee shop and bakery that has a nice area to sit and eat. I've been coming here since theyve opened, and the coffee is always great and modestly priced. Their desserts are also rather good, but definitely on the pricey side. A lot of their desserts are smaller, so it's nice to get a few things and split/sample. The chocolate mousse and cheese cakes are great. I also like their assortment of macaroons and mini cookies. To order coffee, they have a kiosk stand, which helps when it's crowded, but overall, the service is pretty fast. read more

The quality has gone downhill so fast. I don't know if I've ever experienced such an unfortunate turn of events. I used to adore French Workshop. The other locations are still really good but the one in Wantagh is not good at all. On two separate occasions my desserts had mold. Seriously. One was a Halloween cake pop and one was a fancy chocolate cake. I really hope the quality gets better but I won't be returning to this location :( read more

I have been waiting very impatiently for this location to open as it is within walking distance from my mom's place. The vacant Friendly's finally has an occupant. Im so happy it's finally here! I've so far been two times and this place is always packed. Once the weather gets better I hope we can all take advantage of the outdoor seating. All the pastries I have tried are out of this world, especially the "Princess" pastry. Im also a big fan of the Nutella hot chocolate. The reason I give 4 stars is that the employees behind the counter are a little scattered. One person takes care of the pastry selections, another the sandwich orders, and another the coffees, and then there's the cashier. Its hard to keep track of all the things you're getting when you're finally at the register since the order is being handled by so many people. Extremely overrated. All the crowds and long lines must love bland food. Sandwiches sound good but they do not taste good. In fact, the only good thing about them is just somewhat crisp bread . Same applies to pastry- they look good but taste terrible. Tried a few pastries and the chocolate was absolute let down, so was the cream , the only semi good thing was the crème brûlée. I love French Workshop and their desserts always satisfy my sweet tooth. So far, I've been to 4 of these locations and I can say that this location is my second favorite. This location isn't as loud as the other locations I've visited. Parking can be rough but they have lot. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We did have an issue with the indoor seating (it was very dirty). We addressed it to staff and even asked for something so we can clean it. It took them quite a while to address it even though they said "okay". Other than that, we haven't had an issue. Desserts are always delicious and the drinks are great. I recommend trying out their caramel macchiato. read more

There's so many options and it's all made fresh you can even see them make most of the items for sale. The baristas and other employees are all super nice and helpful. Their pastries always look amazing and the place is always clean and immaculate. I love this place. I want to order everything from the bakery. It was my sister's birthday so we got 3 things. We got the Chocolate Noir, La Mure, and the Creme Brulee. We had such a hard time deciding we took like 20 minutes to decide. We came at around 5:30pm, and there was no line at all. So we took our time. We were thinking of coming back on a Sunday morning. But our cashier strongly suggested us that we don't. She said there's like an hour wait on the weekends in the morning. Good tip! So if you really want to feel relaxed and take your time, while also checking out quickly I suggest you go later on in the day. Employer has been getting me coffee here for a few months now and only really got a chance to take a peak this weekend. I really appreciated the sense of detail the establishment had for customers and presenting their goods. You have both outdoor and indoor seating. The display of all their baked goods was kept clean and the service was spot on. The desert selection was plentiful but not out of this world. So in late 2022, we were looking to move out to Long Island. We came upon a home and one of the signs we felt this home was for us was the French Workshop. It had not opened yet but we discovered them in Bayside. We were overjoyed we would have our own French bakery within walking distance of the Wantagh branch. When they first opened, they were swamped. They were clean, a bit disorganized when they first opened but was to be expected. I thought the pastries were a bit pricey but in my mind, it's a premium product and is worth the occasional luxurious indulgence. Fast forward to today. It seems there's a bit of cost cutting going on. I bought their triple chocolate cake and for their price, almost 8 dollars, the cake only had enough for 3 bites. 3 bites for 8 dollars. Thats borderline ridiculous. It was good do not get me wrong, but it was not good value in the least. My daughter got the Apple Crumb Pie. She ended up disliking it to put it mildly. She said the center was basically apple sauce with the top of the crumble just "sweet". The quality of ingredients used seemed cheap. The prices by the ways have stayed the same which was still high or it went even higher. I think other people feel the same because on a Saturday night, it wasn't nearly as packed as it used to be. It used to be standing room only. Now? Plenty of empty seats and tables. So, do I recommend it? I give it a very very lukewarm yes. Mainly because I thought the desert I got was tasty but of poor value. Now they do make Vegan deserts, of which they are good and it's nice for people that are vegans or want to watch their dairy intake. But if they raise prices even further without offering value, then my answer would be an emphatic do not come. Honestly, they really can't make the deserts any smaller or else there would be nothing to eat. One more note, they have an app. I did contact them with my concerns and they did not respond. Nothing. So I'll take my concerns here in the hopes someone see this and look into their standards and quality. I want them to succeed and to be the bakery I go to regularly. As of now? A very reliable bakery offering delicious French pastries. I've been to their Garden City and Plainview locations, but this one happily opened to closer where my daughter lives. My favorites are their small chocolate chip cookies and almond apricot tarts. I also like their apple tarts, but the apricot ones have me swooning. I've also tried their cheesecake brownies, but surprisingly, they aren't my favorite. As you can see from my photos, all their products look gorgeous and delicious. They have so much more to offer than what I've tried, but I usually become overwhelmed with their vast selection and just stick with what I already know I like. read more

I'm a big fan of their other locations, so I was very excited that another location was opening even closer to me. The menu here is pretty much the same as their other locations. All of the pastries taste amazing. Their creme brulee is the standard for all creme brulee for me-- still my favorite. There are the steady favorites and some seasonal pastries. The coffee is decent here. I do feel like in the last decade, the bar for cafés in this country has been set much higher, so I won't pretend it's much better or more elevated that what you could get at the Starbucks. But they really do try to make it look cozier and more elevated in here, at least. Not sure if it's bc this location is still very new, but I have noticed that the servers are not as informed or trained on how to present and serve these pastries. They often do not know the names of the dessert they are selling. They squish breads and pastries on top of one another if you pack stuff to go, ruining the painstaking presentation and sometimes even the very important texture and structure of the pastries. read more

Glad to see the location finally open up after many delays. It has a nice open and modern design with a section to sit down and eat after grabbing your stuff from the counter. The French Workshop is a solid dessert spot to grab something sweet. Lots of various pastries, cakes and tarts to choose from. We usually grab the mixed berry tart and apple crumble tart. The apple crumble is super light and has a nice mix of textures. There are also some savory items such as sandwiches or puff pastry filled bites. My favorite is the spinach bite. Also available is fresh bread, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Like in all French Workshop locations you can peer to see where they are creating all the delicious bites. The price tag it on the items is on the pricer side, so definitely a once in a while treat. What is good is they now have a rewards program, so spending those bucks will build up to something. I really like The French Workshop. And this location, in addition to being closest to my house, is my favorite of their Cafes. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Beautiful landscaping and flowers. The food and desserts are presented beautifully. The bathrooms are beautiful and clean. The seating is comfortable and sturdy. There is seating both inside and outside. Outside is a fantastic place to eat on a nice day. I would say a Big Guy Comfort Factor of 8. Some of the outside tables are tight, but there are plenty of roomy options for a DXL customer like me. Ample parking. The lot is busy but I've never had an issue getting a spot near TFW. My wife and I went today after a stressful visit to my vascular surgeon. TFW was my reward for surviving the day. We ordered food to go. They always pack your food so beautifully. Beautiful boxes and a shopping bag to easily transport your food. We got sandwiches. My wife ordered a Monte Cristo and I got the Italian Baguette. They heated the sandwiches. I should have stopped them for heating mine. Made the sandwich, although still delicious, very greasy. No one needs hot and greasy salami. Still very good though. My wife loved her Monte Cristo - one of her favorites. You have to order dessert! Come on now! My wife got the Strawberry Tart. A work of art and she said it was delicious. I got the Lemon Tart. Wonderful. The absolute best Meringue I've ever tasted in my life. French Meringue? And the lemon curd was delicious. Right amount of sweetness and tartness. I usually order the Creme Brûlée which is awesome. We ordered drinks. A London Fog for my wife and a Decaf Cappuccino for me. The barista asked my wife if she wanted vanilla - that was a bit puzzling. The vanilla makes the London Fog a London Fog. Otherwise it's just an Earl Grey Tea Latte. I don't know? She said it was good/not great. My Cappuccino was good. Very nice milk foam. Not as good as a Blue Bottle or For Five Cappuccino, but still good. It's very close to a Five Star review, but I'm a stingy reviewer. I have to make minor deductions for heating my sandwich (without asking) and for the counter service in general. My server and another server were busy chatting instead of taking care of my order and other customers. There was a woman behind me who was essentially ignored and she decided to exit the store without ordering. That's a lost sale and probably a lost customer. All in all though the server was friendly and took care of my order. The cashier and barista were also very friendly. So it's a glowing Four Star review and it could always make it to Five. With much hesitation, this was the fourth time I gave the Wantagh location bakery a chance. First time was when they first opened - I got a stale cupcake - icing to cake STALE. Next two times, I tried different desserts - again STALE. The fourth time the worst - Éclair was STALE and Extremely OLD, I was told they make the pastries in the morning and keep them only one day - Yeah, I don't think so! Then I got some lame excuse about the custard - Really. Had to take time out of my night to go back, they asked me if I wanted another éclair or something else! like I want something else! So happy they opened a location in wantagh!! The matcha lattes here are the BEST and they have amazing baked goods. If you want really delicious sourdough bread, this is the place to get it. The service is very quick and it is a great place to work from. It's modern and clean and there seats are very comfortable. Everything LOOKED really, really good. Like, it looks absolutely spectacular, and from the crowd inside and the 15-minute wait to order, you would imagine that this is the best place in America. However, looks can be deceiving. This might've been the worst latte I've ever had (my wife refused to drink it after the first few sips so I had to choke it all down) and the pastries were nothing special. A "meh" brownie, a mediocre apricot tart that only tasted like sugar, and bread that didn't taste better than what you'd get at a mediocre grocery store. Oh well, at least it looked nice. read more
