After a day at the beach, I desperately needed a coffee before heading over to a friend's house in Jericho. Every cafe seems to close at 4pm on Sunday in LI, but we found The Cup Coffeehouse on Google. Staff were incredibly nice and we got about 6 drinks to go. The vanilla matcha was really good and the Americano that I had was also great. My husband had a frozen hot chocolate and I liked that one was well. I'm not usually a hot chocolate fan, but this one wasn't too sweet. All in all, a great spot that's open late for coffee and drinks! read more

I love this place. It makes me relive my 90's era youth in a good way. There are not enough coffee shops out there today like this. If you go, check out the hallway with all album covers plastered on the walls. I had fun trying to remember the bands. They have a lot of choices for coffees, matches and drinks as well as desserts. They even have a small menu of food to eat from if your hungry. I had the apple pie and caramel latte. Both were delicious and I am not even an apple pie person. They are mostly opened at night and are trying to soft launch a day time opening. Please go support them during the day so they can be open earlier. Do it for all the moms out there who need a place like this to get awesome coffee and a bite to eat away from their kids. The people who work here.... Super nice. If you don't want to pay the credit card fee, bring cash. My friend wanted to sit outdoor, though it's a bit too cold for me so I opted for inside. Very cozy lounge that feels like your living room. Our waitress checked in on us and made sure we got what we needed and let us enjoy our drinks before we asked for the check. Besides the regular menu, they always have special drinks with inventive names. For April, it was the Alice in Wonderland theme. I decided on a milkshake called tweedle dee which is cotton candy and vanilla with vanilla ice cream. It was very whimsical with the candy sprinkles around the cups edge. I've been coming here since one of my very dear friends introduced me to this lovely little coffeehouse. It can get loud with chatter, or music, but that doesn't bother be because it's full of fun, and life! The dessert is yummy, and I've enjoyed the delicious lattes, and cappuccinos from their menu. The staff are fun, and friendly people. They are part of The Cups charm, besides the mismatched cups. It's cozy, and feels like you're sitting in a friends living room having coffee, and a chat. We opted for a themed Capricorn Matcha special, which had earl grey and vanilla in it; rich flavors that complemented each other perfectly, and caramel hot latte. Both very good. This is a really lovely coffee shop right across from the train station (and a few storefronts from Mulchays). I got a coffee and their peanut butter pie and we also ordered fries for the table and had a great night. I 100000% recommend the pie! So heavenly. Our server was really wonderful and accommodating when more and more people kept joining us (we were holding a little get-together but never got a confirmation about how many people were coming). I love their quirky mugs and decor, and you can even buy the decor from local artists which is really cool. I have 2 minor things to mention of things I didn't like, one that is out of their control. The one out of their control is the parking situation. Because of the train, there's a myriad of street signs that have short hours you can park, and it isn't clear if you can park in the train spots during non-rush hours. I had to circle a few times. It is definitely a deterrent for me to return. Additionally, I do wish they had more hours. I'm almost surprised I didn't see that they don't open for a few hours in the morning. I'd imagine they would do really well with the train right there. The night I went they were open 6 pm to about 10/11 pm. And that seems to be normal for them. read more

FIRST OF ALL the ambiance of this place is spectacular. We felt so comfortable and "at home" type vibes. The chairs were comfy, environment felt so inviting and warm. When we got there, we were immediately greeted by the waitress. She was so fun and great at helping me chose what to get. One side of the menu had coffee and the other had desserts. I got the iced Viennese and my husband got the cup signature house blend. We both agreed it was delicious coffee! For our dessert, i got the pecan pie and my husband got the tollhouse cookie. BOTH were AHHHHHMAAAZING!!! We ate it so quick. What i also love about this place is that they have games! My husband played uno, i declare war, connect four, and guess who. We enjoyed laughing and spending quality time together playing games we enjoyed as kids! Rude and Unprofessional staff! We walked in and were greeted right away, we advised looking for table for 3 to be seated, a girl employee pointed us to seating right in front of the door, however we kindly asked if we could sit further back by the couches (it was 40 degrees out and didn't want to feel a draft). There were only about 3 tables taken (it was 7pm on a tue), the girl employee immediately got annoyed and said "I guess so". She then proceeded to walk us over to the other seats and slammed the menus down on the table. She then went to the bartender and clearly was talking about us. We didn't feel comfortable and left before ordering and trying the coffee and dessert. In addition, the girl employee was very sloppily dressed and looked like she could just be someone hanging out at the coffee shop (no uniform). I've had the same male server in the past, as well as the female server. Like I said I come here a lot. Service isn't amazing but it's not horrible - it's good decent service. A few days ago when I went, there was no space to sit anywhere and my friends and I were waiting for a table. They were busy and it seemed like they were short staffed. We made it a point to not block the path by the 'bar' but we were standing there since it was cold outside. The male server didn't even ask us how many people we had or anything, and 5 minutes after being there the only thing he had to say was "can you guys move? I need to work." No acknowledgement before that or anything. Of all things to ever say, please never ever say that to a customer. We weren't completely in the way, and even if we were - there are 1000 better ways to go about it. Maybe even a simple please or thank you would've avoided this paragraph. The rest of the night the server kept giving us dirty looks and wasn't very attentive. Anyway..came with a group of 5. We were first sitting at tables that we put together, but we were blocking the door to the outside sitting area so we moved to the couch. They serve coffee, tea, desserts, munchie finger foods, salads, paninis, and more! I was undecided what drink I wanted. I ordered a gingerbread latte....only to be told I couldn't have it because they didn't have any vanilla chai. So I couldn't get my second choice either. I settled with a hazelnut latte with almond milk. Basic latte had basic flavor. For my dessert I had apple pie. It was basic as well. It needed more cinnamon! The rest of the people in my group had cherry pie, pecan pie, and a caramel blondie. I don't remember what drinks they got. However, everyone's plate was empty, so I'm going to guess that they enjoyed it! Service was okay. Our waitress (she didn't introduce herself, so I have no idea what her name was) came over to us to make sure we were good and if we needed anything. She added gratuity to the bill. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and inviting but the food is mediocre at best, and seemed to be mostly warmed up frozen food. The servers are really nice and try their best but I feel it's understaffed - when we went there was only 1-2 servers for the entire place which led to our food coming out late and a few items being forgotten. We went last night around 9:30 on a Friday night and had a 30 minute wait. It's a great concept, good vibe, just could use some updating (seating, games, lighting). Our table was sticky. The scrabble board we tried to use was also sticky but worse it was missing a bunch of letter which was disappointing - we were really looking forward to playing. The Cup is my local go to place to relax and unwind with my friends, over a nice cup of hot tea (was never a big coffee fan) and one of their delicious homemade desserts (warm apple crumble pie with vanilla ice cream for me please). There is a regular menu to choose from as well, but I have not yet ordered from it. The weekends are almost impossible to get in (live entertainment on Friday & Saturday evenings), so I usually find myself there on a Wednesday night when they have open mic, and I can get a seat on the sofa, and a parking spot. Some really nice talent plays here, some not, but it's nice to listen to anyway and see devoted family and friends cheering them on. This is really the only reason why I didn't give The Cup a 5 star rating, I haven't experienced the weekend yet. Otherwise, it's a place where you will always be guaranteed a nice night out and will be returning for more! Great place to hangout if you don't want that rush of in and out once you finish and get the check. They have a few food options (nothing crazy), but I'd recommend going there for their dessert and milkshakes/coffee drinks. They have live music Friday's around 9, not sure about other nights. Indoor seating, and outdoor option too. And best of all, they have board games!! I always play guess who or taboo here, love a place that encourages bringing out my inner child. The place has a nice feel to it - very coffeehouse with small intimate sitting areas, mismatched furniture, candles, board games you can grab and play, and low lighting good for conversation. The menu has a good selection of snacks and sandwiches but I only had dessert and a cappuccino. The cappuccino was good, and for dessert I had the Tollhouse pie which basically was a chocolate chip cookie pie with nuts. For a twist, you can get your pies "smashed" in a mug with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. The servers were friendly - they had a good sense of humor and were attentive throughout.
