They think they're too big to fail. The cakes taste like chemicals. Their pizza was sour, people seem to be enjoying it. But I come from a place, not in Long Island , where we don't eat food like that. When we go to a bakery, the whipped cream is real when we order pizza It's not sour or premade and kept on the side . I'm a Native Long Islander now living in Charlotte, North Carolina; - I was recently back in town. My great friend, who is a Merrick Local recommended this place on a whim. We needed to pick up some baked treats for a friend were headed out to in Suffolk County. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Gals working behind the counter are absolute dolls. Everyone is so friendly. Try the Frozen Cappuccino! It is an absolute must; - So delicious and will give you a kick to get your day going. Very cool and chill vibe; Plenty of relaxing seating. I bought many pastries from Spiga. I even got my son's "groom cake" for his wedding here. That was about 10 years ago. Pastries are great, but I just bought a cake for my daughter's birthday. It wasn't special order but an Oreo cake. Boy, were we all disappointed. It was cloyingly sweet. The crunchie "oreo" in the filling had no flavor and I doubt was really oreos and the buttercream frosting tasted like sweetened Crisco. All 8 of us agreed this cake was a big big disappointment. I have enjoyed a few different cakes from Spiga Bakery in Bellmore. The chocolate mousse cake is absolutely delicious. Just last week, I ordered a birthday cake for a party of 35 people. The staff was very helpful, both in person and on the phone. I chose a half sheet, whipped cream cake, with a custard and chocolate cannoli filling. We asked to pick up the cake early, and it was ready with no problem. The cake was beautifully decorated with flowers, as I had requested. The writing was perfect. Best of all, the cake was absolutely delicious. Everyone enjoyed it and we got lots of compliments on it! The prices are competitive. read more

I love this bakery! I discovered this place several years ago at their previous location (basically, across the street) when I heard they had "cheese" and "Prosciutto" breads. Who heard of such things??? Well, I got a couple loaves and it's been a tradition since. Breads, Italian cookies, danish...it's ALL good. Now, they have pizza, rice balls, and some artisan sandwiches! How can it be any better? Tried a pesto slice. It's a "Sicilian" style slice and it's very tasty! The Star is the crust, though! Crispy with a touch of chewy..super yummy! Plus, the people are nice and the place is small but cute with a couple of tables to enjoy a cup of coffee and some bakery fare! This place is top notch!!! I come to Spiga regularly for their delicious cakes and pastries, I also love to grab a latte while I'm there... (shout out to Ange for making the best espresso!) this was the first time I made an appointment with Luca to design an occasion cake. He was really nice and took the time to listen to what I wanted... and then used his expertise to draw a beautiful sketch of what I was unable to articulate. He asked me some questions about display/ refrigeration, etc and then from there I took his recommendation for the frosting and filling. When the day of the event came I was blown away by how absolutely beautiful the cake and cupcakes came out! I have to give Spiga Bakery in Bellmore a solid 5 stars! I discovered this hidden gem through a friend who saw it on TikTok, and let me just say, I have been back FOUR times this week since the first visit! Today, I came in with my sister for breakfast, and we were NOT disappointed. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese, while my sister went for the sausage, egg, and cheese. To start, the sizes of the sandwiches were HUGE - and we loved it! It's so rare to find a place that doesn't skimp on portions, and Spiga definitely delivers. The melted cheese was incredible, and honestly, that's a big deal for me because I feel like most Long Island delis lately haven't been getting the melt right. Here? Perfect melt, perfect balance. 10/10 for the sandwiches alone! I also tried the chocolate and sprinkle donut today, and it was out of this world. You can absolutely taste the freshness, and it was so soft. I've had the vanilla and sprinkles before, and that's definitely my favorite, but the chocolate was amazing too. I got the nutella donuts on previous visits and i must mention that words can't even describe how good it was--definitely a must-try. The best part was how quickly the food came out, and the staff was super polite, even when there was so many people which always makes for a great experience. Saw this place on my tiktok fyp and drove an hour to try the iced tiramisu latte and focaccia sandwiches. 10/10 was worth it! Gets busy and takes time to prepare the food, but there is indoor and outdoor seating! Very disappointed the last time I came here. I ordered a few small desserts including the worst the red velvet mini cake . they all tasted like the freezer just not fresh and simply not edible you could just tell it had been sitting in the freezer for months not OK. Red Velvet- Moist, icing thick but creamy, layer up, topped off with a decorative rose. Cream cheese icing hitting the mark, sweet as hell but not so much ya teeth hurt, the cake was moist tasty and dense this cake had some weight to it, love you red velvet! Apple crumb- YOOOOO I THINK THIS THING WEIGHED IN IT A POUND OR SO. Tasty as hell not at all sticky but gooey and crunchy and filled! Crumbs everywhere, thats how its suppose to be!!! As the picture shows i couldn't wait to dive into this thing. Top notch for sure. Whoops I ate it all - no pics! Ok so let me say this bakery reminded me of when I studied in Italy. They have the small sandwiches that are found all over Italy. Also found overseas, the Brutta ma Buoni cookies aka Ugly but Good. So delicious! The staff gives them an American name but it's them! Crackly airy chocolate cookies with hazelnuts. Everything else we got was great too, can't wait to return. The store is clean and appealing. Newer looking and has a cross between Italian-American bakery meets Italia vibe. read more

I'm a bit picky when it comes to getting cannolis because a lot of bakeries will fill them and just keep them in the case. Filling them fresh makes such a difference and Spiga does it. The filling is smooth, creamy and the perfect crunch. They ask you if you want powdered sugar and of course I do lol. I've tried other things there but truly believe that you want a cannoli. Service is always good and the bakery is small inside but clean. I definitely will pop by when I'm in the mood for a cannoli and suggest you try it! read more

I had an extremely unprofessional experience with Spiga bakery. I had placed a custom cake order well in advance, and when I went to pick it up, the staff walked around aimlessly for about 10 minutes until I finally heard one of them whisper "I don't see this cake anywhere." She then turned to me and said "it'll be about 10 minutes, they just need to finish decorating it." Obviously a lie, since they then left me standing there for over a half hour while they, presumably, scrambled to bake the cake. No apology, no offer if I wanted anything else, nothing. When they finally brought it out (again, no apology for the lateness or forgetting my order), the decoration was wrong and they had to go fix it. When I pointed out the mistake, the cashier rolled her eyes at me-- again, no apology. The service here needs some serious improvement. Until then, they've lost my business. read more

HORRIBLE AND SHAMEFIUL EXPERIENCE AT SPIGA BAKERY. The bakery had only 3 all chocolate cakes on display. I needed a yellow cake for 6 people. I was told I had to special order a cake, and I had to purchase a 10 inch cake even though I only needed a 7 inch cake. The inside layers of filling were TOO THICK you could hardly taste the cake. So, I spoke with the manager who explained that is does not pay for the baker to stop making a $100 cake to bake a 7 inch cake, which is why I had to order and pay for a 10 inch cake. This is a poor excuse and basically theft. I also purchased $40 in cookies. I guess I was not spending enough money at this HORRIBLE BAKERY. read more

Went here with my daughter for a rainy day cappuccino. The original place we wanted to go to had an open yet. Spiga Bakery is cute and stylish. It's a bakery (with loaves made in house) and sells real bakery goods, and even pizza. Would definitely return there. I only wish I had real cups and saucers rather than just to-go cups. The menu in front of me was divided in half with breakfast sandwiches on the left and fratatas on the right. A piece of paper was taped to the sign advertising a breakfast special that includes a free coffee with any breakfast sandwich. I ordered a sandwich listed under the "breakfast sandwich" column on the left side of the menu. After the sandwich is prepared, I ask for my free coffee to which the woman behind the counter responds by telling me the sandwich I ordered does not qualify for the coffee. The sandwich I ordered was not only listed in the column labeled breakfast sandwiches, but also included 2 eggs, potatoes, red pepper, and cheese. I was in disbelief. Would these two signs have confused anybody else? Was I right to be upset over this? In reflection it is not simply missing out on a coffee that bothered me so much, rather the failure to recognize and correct a clearly mis-advertised special. The coffee they withheld from me could not be more valuable than any and all future visits to this bakery, for I will never return. Yes, this is a cute place and the pastries look so good. I have tried all different pastries over and over again and they rarely taste fresh. Today, I picked up an assortment, the worst being the napoleon. I don't know what day(s) of the week they make their pastry but the black and white top was very hard and all broken in pieces. The filling was mostly dried up and off-color. If I hadn't brought them to someone's house, I would have brought them right back. The rainbow/chocolate pastry looked so good but the cookie part was hard and dry. The eclair had something like buttercream inside. Not good and, once again, the chocolate on top was stale and cracked. The carrot cake pastry was the best of the bunch. Will not return to this shop again.
