5/13/26 - Just walk in to this tiny place and you'll be blown away by the smell of freshly baked bread. After serving a customer before me, Cynthia, gave me the biggest smile, and I knew I was in good hands. I went in for a challah because they have a deal that, if they don't have freshly baked challah, they'll give you a coupon for a free one. And because it smells so good, I walked out with my challah, and 2 strawberry pastries. I would have gotten more, but it's a little pricey and I don't need any more body weight. But please, feel free to gorge yourself on some beautiful and tasty bread. read more

Love the bread offering here. The variety is great and the items are always fresh. Thumbs up for the pumpkin anything! As for the service, the young kids usually seem disengaged but the 'adults' are always professional and warm. I've sent so many people to try this place out and all come away with a satisfied belly. read more

First time in the store yesterday. I had ordered on DoorDash twice before and I love their sourdough. I was pleasantly surprised with their yummy treats. Got a Bavarian cream scone thing and it was delicious. I like this place much more than Oceanside. Sent my daughter to Oceanside last week and I couldn't bite into the bread, it was tough. I love their bread! It is so fresh. The staff is also very friendly. I love their sourdough bread, and the high fiber for my kids. Their challah bread and rolls are also really good. They offer rewards too every time you purchase, you earn points. read more

Cobs just opened in Merrick. I went in for Whole Wheat Bread, and was surprised that they not only had it, but also had a verson with seseme and other seeds. I asked for the one with seeds. He then asked me if I would like it sliced, and I could choose between regular slices or thick slices. I am enjoying this healthy and yummy bread very much. Excellent bread! I was disappointed after my recent visit. Prices have gone up and items like buns have to be bought by the half dozen. I'm a single person and if I'm bothering to go to a bakery for a hamburger roll, I'd like it fresh, not frozen. When they first opened they were accommodating but no longer. Expensive and rigid. I really do like the store, and I am a frequent customer but I am just so disappointed in recent experiences. There is one woman who works there that is wonderful. Unfortunately, there is another guy working there recently That has a really bad attitude and makes you feel like he's doing you a favor by helping you out. I came in one morning and was asking questions and his response was I'm trying to open up. I let that go and I purchased a loaf of bread there on Tuesday. I just went to make a sandwich and the entire loaf is green. It was packed in a bread and fruit bag to keep things fresh and kept in the microwave. I called them to ask if this was normal and how long Their bread lasts, at the guy on the phone said 48 hours and then it needs to be frozen. It would be great if they could actually TELL you this when you purchase the bread. I had no idea that it would only last for two days and then go completely bad. Drove past and decided to stop to check it out. Wow! Both people that worked there was amazing! So kind! The samples were delicious. I ordered the ham and cheese croissant. They gave samples of the blueberry and lemon scone too. Beyond delicious and Fresh!! My croreminded me of a breakfast ham and cheese from Italy! The store was super clean and organized! An Australian company, the bread and sweet treats here are amazing. The croissants are super flaky, and the hot cross buns come in several flavors. But the danishes are the best. As someone who grew up eating Danish pastries in Denmark, this is as close to the authentic Danish as you will get without stepping on a plane. read more

I had the most wonderful experience at Cobs Bread. The place is clean and delightfully arranged. All of the baked goods looked fresh and delicious. Free samples were available. I tasted the peach scone and it was heavenly. I ended up buying two scones. Matthew, the employee who helped us, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I asked about the Turkish bread, and he cut me a sample. Since we liked it, he gave us the rest of the loaf. To say I was surprised and delighted is an understatement. read more

After having a few samples of the pumpkin scone, I viewed the scones which were actually quite large. The sample size, which was about a 6th the size of the actual scone was filling. I suggested that not everyone needed to eat a large scone and perhaps they could create some smaller versions, suitable to the dieter/gym crowd that frequent the multiple gym area and similar in size to the mini's available at Starbucks next door. The woman working there told me that "they weren't Starbucks, I was the only one with this criticism, the company has been around since 1980 with their successful model, I already took some samples, can she please serve the other customers.". Apparently, I agitated her with my suggestion. I said I would be happy to pay for smaller sized scones, which was the reason I was asking about that. I don't like to take samples on a regular basis. I did not want to continue this altercation but I made the decision never to walk in there again. I am giving it a three because the scone samples were good. read more
