I never needed to shop for a dairy-free birthday cake before and didn't realize how challenging it could be. I found some recommended bakeries that would have taken me over an hour drive (/r LongIsland), but i decided to give BNB Plainview a shot. I called and asked about the dairy-free selection and they were incredibly helpful. Encouraged, I swung by during my lunch break and was very impressed with their dairy-free selection. Didn't realize that their entire menu was gluten free and tree-nut free (I have n=1 friend who would have appreciated this). I also liked that they separated the vegan and non-vegan items (we were fine with eggs so went non-vegan). The same person I spoke with on the phone greeted me and I went with her recommendation of the non-vegan chocolate mousse cake. While waiting, I had a gluten-free multigrain bagel (toasted) with cream cheese. It was really good! I was pretty shocked because I expected it to taste like cardboard to be honest. Now the mousse cake. I held my breath as the birthday girl ate the first bite. She loved it! Guess what. I loved it too! Well if I ever need a nut free, gluten free, or vegan baked good, I can take a short drive to Plainview for BNB. I may also return for a bagel. read more

Had lunch there today! Ordered pizzas, & their grilled cheese with "f"Acon! The pizzas were 10/10 not really a fan of vegan cheese that doesn't really melt and the cheese in my grilled cheese was not fully melted ...but the service was great! Ended up my meal with a vanilla chai iced latte which I will recommended 10/10!!! Was such a fatty for the pizza I didn't even take pictures but definitely will be retuning for breakfast ! Delicious cake! The dairy-free cream cheese frosting was just 'fine', as the texture and taste was more American buttercream, but the cake and chocolate mousse filling was fantastic. Although they seem to still be getting their footing, Bare Naked Bakery is really a great spot to try for anyone with vegan or gluten free restrictions. The food is surprisingly good and the fact that there are SO many options is a huge plus. The same woman has been working the counter every time I've gone and she's been very helpful when customers are unsure about their choices. The restaurant itself is okay for sitting down but this is definitely more grab and go. The prices are pretty high, but I've come to expect that for vegan food. So all in all, this is more of a splurge for me. read more

I came in here because I wanted to compare it to the location in Bellmore which I go to more often. I was delighted to learn that the bagels are vegan because I've been gluten free for a long time due to having a sensitivity to it but recently I also decided to go vegan. I got the breakfast burrito with tofu. It was pretty good, on the small side but still really good and filling. Great nut free bakery! A few kids in my son's classroom have allergies to eggs, milk, and nuts this bakery had cupcakes that were baked without those ingredients so they were perfect vegan cupcakes! They get 3 stars for actually having gluten free dairy free, but free desserts but I tried two of them the carrot cake and the moose cake and they were not good . The carrot cake was way too spicy. You couldn't really enjoy the dessert and the moose cake was just very blah tasting . I would give them another chance and try some others . read more

Went there for this first time the other day and was pleasantly surprised! The everything bagel with dairy free cream cheese was SO flavorful and somehow they were able to create a GF bagel that didn't taste like cardboard! Have to say I have been to several gluten free bakeries in the past and have really not liked them much. I went into Bare Buns Bakery and got a chocolate brownie and everything bagel. I have to say the everything bagel was the best I have ever had, Totally amazing last and super fresh. The brownie was good but, To be honest i could tell from the taste it was gluten free. The brownie was considerably better than other gluten free that i have had in the past. The selection in my eyes was a bit thin not a lot to choose from. I would definitely go back again for a bagel but I do not think i would get any of the pastries again. The man behind the counter was very friendly and helpful and extremely nice. To me customer service is always number one and this person exceeded my expectations. I would give the service and the bagel 5 stars but the brownie 3 stars. read more

The only reason this place is getting three stars is due to the taste of the vegan chocolate cake I bought, which was pretty good. The downfall was the appearance of the cake and the inconvenience of having to go to the location twice! The initial visit was to find a vegan, chocolate cake. The cake was a decent size, so all I wanted was a "Happy Birthday Tiffany" written on it. The associate asked if she could put a birthday sign on top instead of writing it. I told her I'd prefer it to be personalized. She said no problem and took the cake to the back. I even told her she can shorten it to "Happy B-Day Tiff" because of how small the space was. She came back out, but didn't show me how it looked and I didn't bother to ask (which I should have). After driving for only 5 minutes, my coworker decided to open the box to take a look at the cake. The writing on the cake was horrendous. It was completely illegible and sloppy. She even left some icing on the decorative part of the cake. It was like she used an attachment that had a wide opening. I needed the cake that same day, but I didn't have time to drive back because I had to get back to work. Once I got out of work, I drove straight to the bakery and requested the writing to be done over. The same associate suggested to use the birthday sign because they didn't have an icing attachment with a smaller opening. I said no problem and I waited there for about 15 mins because she said the chocolate needed to dry. Once she got the cake from the back, she showed it to me and I approved its appearance. Once I got home and was ready to sing happy birthday, the cake was a complete mess. The chocolate and the sign slid from the middle to the edge of the cake. It was embarrassing to have my sister see her cake in this condition. Overall, the cake was delicious. The bakery just needs associates that are experienced and well informed about simple tasks. Maybe I will take a visit to the Bellmore location, but certainly not Plainview. read more

Wow!! I was so happy to find a vegan friendly spot on door dash and now I'm disgusted. First, a woman from the bakery called me and let me know they didn't have facon that I purchased $3.00 extra for. I told her that's fine and I will get a refund. She said "so you still want the food?" I mean yeah..... Anyway, the dasher comes with the food and she was very nice. The tofu sandwich smelled strange but I opened it up and woah it's neon. I was visiting Long Island for work and always look for gluten free options. I came across this bakery and decided to try it out. I'm so glad I did. I got an assortment of pastries, bagels, and a loaf of Mock Rye Bread. I haven't had rye since being diagnosed with celiac disease 12 years ago. The bread was more than I could ask for. Tasted just like rye and is amazing toasted. You couldn't even tell the pastries were gluten free. The tiramisu was out of this world. I will absolutely be purchasing more online in the future.
