Best vegan cookies on Long Island. I bought a handful of each kind and left with a pound. Some with fruit fillings, some chocolate chips and cinnamon sugar cookies that were awesome with coffee. I was so surprised at how delicious they were. It brought back memories of growing up in Queens and having bakery every weekend that my Dad picked up. I was so sad when I looked in the bag and found none left. Great stuff. Looking forward to trying their vegan Napoleon pastries next time they make some. Yum! read more

Plainview is the new home of ZuckerBaker's bake Ashop formerly of Wantagh. Kosher bakery is tucked back in a small strip center in Old Country are just east of Manetto Hill Rd. Fresh made challah bread, hamentaschen, rugelach, Mandel bread. Simple looking but fresh cinnamon or chocolate babka just out.. Babka was not some super Brooklyn multi layer work of art. Here it's more of a gentle softer crumb cake like babka with moist center. Simple but closer to how they likely were fifty years ago. It works. Bakers working in the back. The nice woman up front wouldn't sell me the one on the tray as it was yesterday's and taken out. She boxed one from this morning just made. Nice reliable Kosher bakery. read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. We stopped into multiple bakeries in search of yummy rugelach. We had already purchaed from two highly rated locations in the same week! Finally we found this little place, thanks to a recommendation. While the rugelach were great, my favorite was their linzer cookie. We got two pounds of mixed selections, as well as a half pount of rainbow cookies. Everything we got was delicious. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality baked goods. read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside but they serve up delicious baked goods! Even if you're not kosher (I'm not) this place is great since they bake everything without dairy and without nuts. Zucker's made us Disney frozen themed desserts for two separate parties for our daughter. The cupcakes were delicious and for her cake we asked for their version of strawberry shortcake and it was so incredibly good! Maybe I was spoiled, but the rugulah I just purchased at Zucker Bake Shop was thin and full of mostly hard sugar rather than taste. I used to visit Hester Street for the finest of these items, full of cinnamon, raisins and delightfully plump, flaky and tasty, Zucker is not of that kind in any form or manner. I also had what was termed as a "brownie", this was more like a candy bar cake than that of a brownie (somewhat aged). The Holly Bread was okay, but again nothing noteworthy. I am really disappointed with what I thought to be a real and authentic Jewish Style Bakery, it is not. I had better baked goods years ago on Lydig Avenue in the Bronx and Avenue U in Brooklyn. Stopped by to get a chocolate babka as a hostess gift, after sampling the goods I ended up getting a second one for myself. Very fresh, just enough chocolate to complement the flaky dough. Of course I didn't stop there, also had to get a few linzer tarts which were out of this world as well. Plenty of parking in the back, reasonable pricing, credit cards accepted. Have to dock a star for the service (or lack thereof). I was the only customer in the store on a weekday morning, but it still took awhile to be acknowledged. Two staff members were deep in conversation and didn't even bother to look up when I walked in. After a few minutes of being ignored, I timidly asked for assistance and a third woman slowly came over to help but acted like I was an unwelcome interruption to her private reverie. My cake order was wrong for a two tier cake. When I called to let them know, they offered me at first a $25 credit on a $150 cake. The top tier was supposed to be chocolate and the bottom tier was supposed to have fudge filling and not chocolate pudding. The flower decorations slid down the side of the cake. Vivian was unapologetic telling me that I should've called sooner and that I should've taken pictures and that haven't I ever made a mistake before? I will hopefully get a credit of $50 soon. I felt I was more than patient, picked up the cake and waded through a parking lot of water up passed my ankles. When I asked for help to carry the cake and cookie platters out, they said that they don't do that. Then the wrong cake flavors on both tiers?? I ordered a cake yesterday for pickup this morning. This was for an office farewell gathering. Just a small chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream inside and out. I guess I wrongly assumed it would be fresh, but there's no way it could have been. The cake was dry like when they're a day or 2 old. The icing had minimal flavor. And the layers were uneven, but that I could live with if taste was good! My colleagues agreed with me..Based on the good reviews I went with this bakery, as the guest of honor could only eat from a kosher establishment. For a 'grand opening' place looks awful. Old looking showcases, equipment, etc., didn't look clean and was sparse looking. First time there recently to pick up something to bring to a Shiva call. Dairy free and nut free bakery ! Come all yee allergic ! This small bakery located across from North Shore Farms is for you. I googled "dairy free bakery Long Island" and this came up, I also read the reviews. I decided to take a trip out to pick my mom up something since she can't eat anything with dairy. Located on a small strip this bakery has some parking Infront and also in the back. You walk in and the place is dare I say, tired? I got a little nervous wondering if the Yelp reviews guided me into a crumby place (no pun intended) after looking around and seeing the display of baked goods just looks "ok" and the bakery itself Doesn't look as nice as the ones I'm used to. (Well lit, lots of employees, very clean, fully stocked inventory of baked goods). I asked about the cakes to see if they came dairy free, and the response was everything was dairy free and the "buttercream" on cakes was made from shortening instead of butter. Ok good good, I'm looking to get a cake towards the end of the month so I wanted to know. Granted I know it isn't good to eat shortening often, but I don't eat cake very often either! To see if the dairy free cake was any good I ordered two cupcakes to go. Both yellow cake one with chocolate frosting the other with vanilla. Came to $3 exact and I was happy. Lots Of places it's $3 at least for one cupcake ! Took The cupcakes home and tried them. They were SO good!! I was very pleasantly surprised. The frosting was ridiculously smooth and just the right amount of sweetness, I liked this way more than most buttercreams. The cake was also good and flavorful. These two two cupcakes got me very excited to try other things in their bakery and the woman who I was talking to about a cake was very nice. I will be back. **Taking away a star...I ordered a chocolate cake with "happy birthday Irene" on it and the cake decorating was the worst I've seen! Random pink, blue, purple ribbons that I didn't ask for and a cake that isn't round. Also a random little spot with sprinkles on it. So badly decorated it was comical seeing it. I bought a cinnamon babka for the Passover holiday at Stop and Shop in the Merrick Mall. This had to be the worst tasting cake I've ever served. It actually tasted like it was left over from Passover 2021! No one at my seder would eat it. And, at over $9, I had to throw it away. I have close friends who rave about you. Fresh, delicious....the almond horns and hamentashen are the very best around...onion rolls and if you are lucky, an onion board, that is hard to come by these days. Of course, closed for Shabbat....also a few excellent gluten free items ( mini linzer tarts) Ample parking in the back...One of the two owners, if not both, are usually there. Went here for kosher cakes for Rosh Hashana because I know there cakes are good. Although I realize their products are available at Stop&Shop, Shop-Rite, and other local supermarkets, I thought the selection would be greater here and fresher. I bought the apple and chocolate melt-a-way cakes for $12.00 each. Was I surprised when I went to Shop-Rite in Uniondale that night and saw the same cake for $8.00 each. I think that is totally unfair that the bakery where the item is made would rip off customers and charge $3.00 more per item. Not only than, Shop Rite had more of a selection because they had kosher cakes from other bakeries as well. So while Zucker's cakes and breads are good, buy them at the supermarket and you will save money. read more

I was looking for a nut free birthday cake for my daughters 4th Bday. I taste tested 3 other bakeries and zucker bakery was the only one that taste like a normal cake. No weird taste/ texture to their cakes. Price was very reasonable for a 1/4 sheet. Maria was extremely nice and a pleasure to work with. Cake came out perfect!!! At my first visit to this bakery inquiring about the cake I purchased their challah bread. I couldn't believe how fresh & delicious it was!! My local Kosher bakery, Pearls has closed its doors. For most of my bakery needs i go to Francesco Italian Bakery in Bethpage but for Thanksgiving and Passover i like to have Challah and Jewish style 7 layer cake. So Google gave me Zuckerbakers in Wantagh and Reisterers in West Hempstead. Wantagh being closer i opted for Zuckerbakers. I should have headed straight to West Hempstead when i saw the operation. This business supplies supermarkets with Kosher bakery. The place is a factory with a small showcase of few items....an afterthought at best. Large boxes filled with product marked for other businesses. Now, the items were edible and if you are happy with supernarket bakery items in general you will be happy here. The taste and consistency of the items were far less satisfactory than traditional Kosher bakery, the "Miami" rolls were not soft and eggy and had just a bit of onion on the top and no onion in the middle. So, again if you want traditional Kosher bakery with quality ingredients (which i believe is the difference) look elsewhere. If i dont find a better place on the Island i will have to head back to Brooklyn for Passover. Next time i go to The Pickle People in west hempstead for my sour pickles i will stop into Reisteters Bakery to sample the goods. read more

The selection is great, the challah is delicious, and so are the Hanukkah donuts...but the woman that is usually working the register is soooooooo slowwwwwww...she moves like she has nothing to do...I was in there the other day and a woman in front of me ordered 6 large jelly doughnuts it took her a full 5 minutes to get them...and she came back with the wrong small donuts...so then i had to wait another 5 minutes for the woman to go in the back and get the correct donuts while I was still standing there and two other people working in the bakery did not even offer help which is a great way to lose customers...I have also purchased challah and dough on multiple occasions and it has been a different price each time from that same slow woman and when you question her about the price variations she has nothing to say about it but a nasty face...hmmm... read more
