Woodbury Kosher is more than just a deli or butcher. It is a family owned, family feeling type of…read moreplace, full of temptation too! At Woodbury Kosher, anyone (any level of religious practice) can walk in can find something nosh on or an entire meal for twenty people. It makes Shabbat dinner easy for the times I really don't feel like cooking. My mother has been taking me to Woodbury Kosher since I was a young girl. I remember one day, I stayed home from school, sick, and my mother let me come with her to the store to pick up dinner. She introduced me to a man who worked there. A minute later he came out from the kitchen with a cup of mushroom barley soup, he gave it to me and told me to feel better. Fifteen years later I am writing this review because I am now getting over having the flu for the second time this year. Yes, it was just as horrible as the first time. But, this time my mom brought me soup from both Woodbury Kosher and a competitor on two different nights. I had the competitors matzo ball soup, which has a good reputation, but it was flavorless. It was $12 for my taste bud's salty disappointment. I just finished my soup from Woodbury Kosher and I couldn't be happier. The smell, taste, texture, look, etcetera was delicious. I may have burnt the tip of my tongue for trying to sip it too enthusiastically. Mouth watering. Less expensive but worth more! I hope this review is somewhat coherent, being that I'm on so many cold suppressants and ready for a nap! Woodbury Kosher put more than carrots, celery, broth, and noodles in their soup, they put love into it. And for that, I will definitely be back for more!

Was on LI for work, and came here to get bagels for my team and I. They were empty which was nice,…read moreeven though it took a bit to get everything made versus the factory-level speed I'm used to elsewhere. This is a kosher place so no bacon egg and cheese for you. Prices were ok. A big deli and bakery section too as the place is huge. Not the most friendly staff but I don't need my ass kissed before 8am. Cinnamon raisin bagel was very good, especially when toasted. Scallion cream cheese was overkill with huge scallion chunks, but fresh and still decent enough. Iced coffee was very meh; should've known when I saw it came out of a machine. My team liked everything too, and aside from the coffee I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

This was my first time at this location. I waited in line for about two minutes, and when it was my…read moreturn, the employee looked right at me and then walked away. He returned after a minute, looked at me again, and just said 'Next.' I started giving my order for an egg and cheese on a flagel, but he walked away again. He came back about four minutes later, and I added an iced coffee to my order. He walked off once more, returned with the card machine, and rang me up. While processing my payment, he was complaining to a co-worker about how a previous customer left a tip for a different employee instead of them. Once I tapped my card to pay, he didn't even say thank you, he just kept chatting with his co-worker, which I found very rude. On a positive note, my sandwich was really good and very tasty, and my favorite part was the French vanilla iced coffee, which had great flavor.

This is my new favorite Ben's Deli. I guess we've been to so many Ben's Delicatessens that you can…read moreactually have a favorite. We came in before noon on a Sunday and had our choice of tables. Their deli offerings are pretty consistent between stores, with a large double-sided tabloid sized menu. But the service here is just that much better because Marjorie was our server and she treated us like we were her family. As at all Ben's Deli's, you always start with a deep bowl of pickles and a boat of tasty cole slaw (don't be shy if you want a refill). The soup of the day is Chicken a la Reine, which is basically cream of chicken and I love all creamy soups. It comes in a large, wide bowl, but I miss having saltine crackers in my soup. My wife orders the Rachel Panini with pastrami on rye and 2 Ultimate Paninis, one with pastrami & corned beef for me and pastrami & brisket for my son. All the sandwiches are toasted on the panini press and come with a choice of potatoes as a side and Russian dressing. My wife and son go with potato latkes and I go with the thick cut crinkle fries like the Nathan's fries down in Coney Island. Theirs come with apple sauce, which I like to slurp up as dessert. Gotta come back next time to try out the Ben's Deli Dog or maybe a nice Hot Open Brisket sandwich with plenty of gravy.

When my father-in-law spoke with a manager about the wait, the attitude of the service staff seemed to change. The food was later brought to the table in a manner that felt rushed and unprofessional, as if our concerns had become an inconvenience. To make matters worse, my order was incorrect. I ordered a turkey burger with salami, but was served a turkey burger with pastrami instead. I initially thought something looked different, and later confirmed on the receipt that the order had been entered incorrectly. No one checked back to ensure the order was correct, so the mistake went unnoticed until after the meal. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, and delays are understandable when a business is busy. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication, the apparent frustration shown by the staff after we raised a concern, and the overall feeling that customer service was not a priority. We have enjoyed Ben's in the past, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. We hope management will take this feedback constructively and use it as an opportunity to improve both service and communication.

I found some recommended bakeries that would have taken me over an hour drive (/r LongIsland), but i decided to give BNB Plainview a shot. I called and asked about the dairy-free selection and they were incredibly helpful. Encouraged, I swung by during my lunch break and was very impressed with their dairy-free selection. Didn't realize that their entire menu was gluten free and tree-nut free (I have n=1 friend who would have appreciated this). I also liked that they separated the vegan and non-vegan items (we were fine with eggs so went non-vegan). The same person I spoke with on the phone greeted me and I went with her recommendation of the non-vegan chocolate mousse cake. While waiting, I had a gluten-free multigrain bagel (toasted) with cream cheese. It was really good! I was pretty shocked because I expected it to taste like cardboard to be honest. Now the mousse cake. I held my breath as the birthday girl ate the first bite. She loved it! Guess what. I loved it too! Well if I ever need a nut free, gluten free, or vegan baked good, I can take a short drive to Plainview for BNB. I may also return for a bagel.
