I was visiting Long Island for work and always look for gluten free options. I came across this bakery and decided to try it out. I'm so glad I did. I got an assortment of pastries, bagels, and a loaf of Mock Rye Bread. I haven't had rye since being diagnosed with celiac disease 12 years ago. The bread was more than I could ask for. Tasted just like rye and is amazing toasted. You couldn't even tell the pastries were gluten free. The tiramisu was out of this world. I will absolutely be purchasing more online in the future. Also, the service was top notch. The girl at the counter was very helpful and we chatted about Pennsylvania for a bit. Wish I would have gotten her name because she deserves a shout out. read more

I don't know what I just ate. We started with the gluten free bagel chips that may have been sitting on the shelf for months -- inedible. We had to throw out the bag of chips ($7) I ordered a simple grilled cheese sandwich for my daughter and it 1. took forever 2. came out as 2 pieces of bread with orange sliced cheese on each side-not even melted. I returned it because I just couldn't accept it as a grilled cheese. They were out of fries to go with the grilled cheese so we got Doritos -- those were great! read more

Super cute and convenient location. Breakfast was super slow to come out and served on cheap paper plates in no particular order (members of the group waited longer while others were finishing). Pancakes were mushy, chicken wrap was soggy and nothing had any flavor. Bakery items were "meh" definitely not as good as we were hoping and not worth the price. read more

All Kosher, vegetarian and gluten free, as well as many items are completely dairy free also. Breakfasts, lunches and early dinner. And some super looking desserts and nice workers. However, the coffee was not very good. (They would benefit from using a local and fresh coffee roaster like Giorgio's in Farmingdale) read more

Bare naked bakery. Just a quick note This bakery 16 Manetto Hill Rd Plainview NY My husband bought 2 small gluten-free vegan cakes from there yesterday to surprise party at restaurant with family Well the cakes were dry like they sat there for days All guests left the cake after bite in dish So embarrassing no dessert after dinner They looked beautiful but tasted awful I brought back the 2 half lefts after restaurant threw out what was in people dishes Needless to say I was told they had not other complaints but to leave my number and if they received a complaint they would think of doing something for me after my husband spent 40.00 each 8" cake small I left store so upset there were not excepting this cake the fact that it was stale from my word Customer word is not good enough for this owner I would never recommend this store of hers She had no apology or anything just that she couldn't believe it What ever happened to the customer is aways right My upset and embarrassment did not phase her Oh well attitude she had read more

I have been to Bellmore and Plainview locations Well sad to say both have tasteless items Gluten free items do not have to be awful I make cakes and desserts better and tasty than this business My guests don't even know what is gluten free or not Well how they stay in business is beyond me Maybe it because people gluten free haven't experienced gods gluten free items Get out there people Create Use King Arthur products to make anything you crave Betty Crocker also great And wow Oreos now gluten free and you can't tell difference I just made a Chocolate black out cake today and no one knew it was gluten-free til they saw me take a piece with King Arthur cake mix AND THE NEXT BEST THING WAS I PAID 8$ total for a large cake Not 40$ for a 8" cake that looked good but you couldn't eat cause it was so awful Plus the owner is not a nice person doesn't want to hear customer issues Shame on her Maybe if she listens made she can attempt to make her recipes better Well think not twice but many times before you decide to try any of bare naked bakery establishments Save a lot of money and your time Have a good day and be safe to all read more

Ever since this place moved to it's new location (one door down), it has been in disarray! There is no menu posted in the store anywhere. You have to pick up their paper menu printed in tiny font, which has minimal descriptions and requires you to ask tons of questions (e.g., does the bagel with lox include onion and tomato? What's the add-on charge?). The staff is slow and not always nice. The food is good, but overpriced. read more

Fantastic vegan desserts!! A little on the pricey side but worth it. The Linder tarts are my favorite!

Such a great concept and filling a long overdue niche. Nice interior comfortable and very friendly and accommodating staff. Now for the good. Well everything looks beautiful and enticing. The basic salads and eggs , avocado etc are fine. The French fries great as no worries of cross contamination but the pastries another story. Tried a few. The black and white well presented was rubber and no flavor. The cupcakes ehh , box cakes like simple mills far better. The cigar just ok nothing to go back for and same for linzer tart which had a little flavor but a little rubbery and soggy. So disappointed!! There are some not Gluten free bakeries that do an Awesome job at gluten free , dairy free even though perhaps only an offer or two. I just don't get it. I hope this review will encourage them to really take a look and improve. Sorry, I wanted so much to give 5 stars but cannot. Maybe it was an off day? I don't know. Sorry read more

This was a shockingly terrible experience I wish I had read reviews before driving 30 minutes to eat here. I ordered the chicken kabob gyro and my husband had the California wrap but they ran out of wraps so it was made on bread. It took a very long time to come out and each meal came with cold fries. The chicken on my gyro was cooked so much that I would compare it to jerky. It was like it had been microwaved 6 times or sat out for multiple days. My husband did not enjoy his extremely small sandwich that had barely anything on it and we were charged $38 for just those 2 sandwiches no drinks or anything. Obviously I know the prices of gluten free wraps and bread but this was a little outrageous for the disgusting meal we were served. Now praying I don't get a stomach ache. read more

I was super happy to randomly stubble upon this shop. My friend loveeees deserts but she's gluten and dairy free and this place had so many options . The young girl who helped me was very patience and sweet while I picked what I thought my friend may like. She tried the brownie , cake ball and a cookie and she loved them, the brownie wasn't her favorite she said it didn't have much flavor and was a little dry but she still said it wasn't bad. The had a ton of bread as well that we didn't try but plan to if we are ever in the area again! read more

I have maintained a gluten-free diet for the past 10 years, and have dreamed of long-ago days when I would eat delicious, fresh, chewy bagels... I no longer have to dream! This morning I had a gluten free sesame bagel at Bare Buns that rivaled any traditional bagel I've ever eaten. And it isn't just my clouded, deprived gluten-free brain and taste buds. My wife, who is gluten tolerant and a lover of traditional bagels, also agreed that her onion bagel was superior. I sampled other hard to find gluten free treats, including a rainbow cookie and cinnamon bun. Incredibly fresh and tasty. PLUS, they deliver! Bravo, Bare Buns!!! read more

I really enjoyed the bagel, tiramisu, and cannoli! I'm GF and not based in NY. I really wanted to enjoy some classic NY Italian treats while I was visiting and was excited to find the shop. Everything was so much tastier here than at my local GF place! It's true about the bagels- even GF ones :) Staff were very polite throughout pickup. read more

My husband & I ran into Bare Buns during the most recent snow storm, so glad they were open. We had a small donut(Amazing & moist), rainbow cookie- quite Enjoyable as per my husband who loves rainbows the most. We will definitely be back for More! read more

I called around looking for someone who could make me a gluten free and dairy free birthday cake for my Birthday, which is today by the way. This bakery made me a triple layer chocolate sponge cake, with vanilla custard layered with bananas, chocolate custard, and chocolate ganache frosting. It was great! Also, there is an entire case of gluten free and dairy free cookies and cakes, including brownies and coffee cake. They also have different kinds of gluten free bagels and loads of gluten free bread for sale. For breakfast before we head out, my family stopped by the bakery and had coffee, coffee cake, and egg sandwiches on their gluten and dairy free bagels. I suggest that you come here. Not many people know about this place. It's not a place where you sit down and have breakfast, but more like a place where you sit down for 15 minutes at one of their small tables and grab a sandwich or a piece of cake with some of their coffee. No almond milk was available for your coffee, soy milk only, because this is a nut free bakery as well. Try it out! Especially the "gluten and dairy free everything bagel!" read more

I went back to give it a second chance and now I will never be back again. The woman at the register is so unfriendly, the service is horrible and the food is sloppy and sooo skimpy. I paid $13 for a wrap with one tomato weirdly chopped up with a piece of lettuce , two cucumbers and two slices of "f" acon. What a waste of money read more

My sister is GF and likes the bagels here. But they are chronically out of things, have hair baked into things, and mess up orders. They completely lost our Christmas order. Bare Buns is so expensive and so inconsistent that there's not much here for someone who is relying on GF food. read more

Got some delicious kosher parve deserts here. I am dairy free so I was very happy to find a bakery I could actually eat some sweets! I did find out you need to place an order if you want to get a kosher parve cake, but they have a bit of a selection of rest made things. Maybe keeping one or two parve cakes ready to go would be good. Will visit again if I am in the area Update- according to a message from the company they DO have parve cakes available. The attendant who helped me must have not realized that read more

Got a mini vegan strawberry cake that looked beautiful but the taste wasn't quite what I was hoping for. The cake was a strawberry flavor and was very dense. Now this could be what vegan cake consistency is like, I'm new to vegan baked goods (became dairy intolerant recently, so was looking for a dairy-free cake/frosting). The frosting consistency on the outside was similar to butter frosting, but the frosting in the middle of the cake was very liquidy and extremely sweet. Again, perhaps just my taste buds, which don't like super sweet stuff. I appreciate the effort it takes to make alternative baked goods and will go back to try something else...cookie or brownie to see how that goes. read more

First, let me start by saying I am a restaurant owner (and avid gf baker) and understand what yelp reviews mean to a business, but also feel that a truthful review should help perspective customers... good or bad. I've been gluten free for well over 10 years and in that time, my family and I (who are all GF) , have travelled all over the United States to explore and try the various GF Bakeries that we are lucky to get to. At one time, a few years ago, Bare Naked Bakery was one of the best we'd ever tried, before in my opinion, taking a big down turn in quality and taste. So, we were excited when Bare Buns opened next to our favorite burger place, Dirty Burger. What a disappointment. Not only is it lost in the back of a big parking lot that can't even be seen from the road, but it shares many of the bad characteristics of Bare Naked. The decor, although meant to be warm and inviting, feels cluttered and not inviting. Maybe a bigger disappointment, when we visited, like it's sister store, was dirty. Again, as a restaurant owner, I take notice in cleanliness, maybe more then others. As we do with all gf bakeries we try, we as a family sampled almost one of everything they offer. DISAPPOINTED!!!! There was not one thing we sampled that any of us would actually want to purchase again. Not one!! In our opinion, most were simply lacking flavor! Plain and simple. I will say this, the cakes which we actually didn't try, were decorated beautifully. Credit to the cake decorators. No credit to the bakers/recipe makers. In this day and age, for anyone who doesn't know, just because it is Gluten Free, there is NO REASON whatsoever to sacrifice taste. Apparently the owner hasn't learned that. You should never have to say... it was good, "for gluten free" It should just be good... and this was not. It's a shame, because there is clearly a needed market for more GF bakeries and Plainview lost one of the best I've ever tried, Jac's GF Bakery, a year or so ago. I was really hoping Bare Buns was going to fill that void. read more

Unfortunately the rainbow cakes were dried out a second time and there was a long hair baked into the tiramisu cake. Not going back there again. Very, very disappointing! It's too bad that a gf bakery, which is so needed does not hold to a high standard. I find that insulting. read more

Since my wife went vegan we have been searching for a bakery with vegan/gluten free options that actually have taste. We have now had several items here and enjoyed very much. This includes the chocolate cigar, cookie-wich, cookie cake, linzer tart, and grilled cheese. The only dessert that could of been tastier was the chocolate babka (a little dry). While we have not tried everything in the store it would be appealing to see some special or additional items sprinkled in occasionally. That said we are very happy coming here. read more

I have been looking for Gluten Free bread... and I found it here!!! They have several types of bread and croutons and bagels and bread crumbs and excellent cakes and pastries too Nice staff and clean & pretty shop Loved it! read more

I really wanted to like this place, really I did. If you are reading this review then you obviously know how hard it is to find gf or even vegan somewhat "fast" food or even food on the go. When I first discovered it about a year ago I swear there were different owners, ones who paid closer attention to detail. Since not seeing them, I have seen the quality of the food take a huge dive. Ive been served food cold (as in still somewhat frozen), burnt, completely wrong and finally the last straw, I had a hair in my burger. I tried contacting them to tell them about all of my experience. I called THREE times and left messages for the owners to get back to me and after a month, here I am writing a review. I really wanted them to do well, since it is so hard to find places like theses around, but my advice, don't bother stopping. read more

As someone with celiac I love that everything is gluten-free and there's no risk of cross-contamination. Food is pretty good- sometimes the bagels are a little heavy. The staff is amazing, but the owner is a nightmare. read more

I ordered a cake for my son's four year old birthday, gave very explicit instructions and even sent photos from Pinterest (the owner asked me to do this). When I picked up the cake I was pretty astonished - honestly, I could have decorated it with more precision, not to mention I could not make out my son's name. The piping was terrible, and sloppy. The worst part was that I had to pay $10 over the regular decorating cost of $15. It looked like it had taken 5-10 minutes to do the pipe work. I Ironically, the owner had asked me to tell her early on what design we wanted so she could make sure the right person was there to do the decorating. On top of this, I was asked what I thought when I was shown the cake and I was honest and said I can't make out the writing - the response was - oh, yeah, it's in black. No apology, no nothing. Then she said, when do you need the cake for because we just took it out of the freezer. I didn't know it was standard practice to freeze cakes, and I would have appreciated knowing this ahead of time so it would have been thawed out more. This is the last time I get a cake from Bare Buns. Next time I will save myself the hassle and bake it myself. Very disappointed. read more

In love with their bagels! Best I've ever had- it was so exciting to see good food that was also gluten free. I got a carrot cake for Easter which was also really tasty. My family didn't even know it was gluten free! I also frequently get their loaves of bread- lots of delicious flavors. My boyfriend is a fan too, even though he is an avid gluten-lover. I've had their coffee cake, cake balls, and some other treats, and although they tasted good, they are very pricey. Staff are nice for the most part. One woman was very rude but I've only seen her once. Overall, I love this place and will return often; I just wish it wasn't as expensive at it is. read more

I generally do not write reviews but I felt compelled to do so after my last visit. We ordered 2 vegan sandwiches and asked specifically if they have the ingredients for them as in the past they had run out of or couldn't get one of them. We were assured they had all the ingredients so we went ahead and put in our order. We took our purchase home and unwrapped the sandwiches. The first thing was there was no usual pickle, humus or carrot sticks but in their place was a cello bag of stale chips that were so hard I couldn't break them in half. The sandwiches were on dry stale bread and the main ingredient we asked for was no where to be found. The place used to be better, but after spending over $35 on garbage, not so much anymore read more
