We love Dom's! We had been waiting for this location to open as it's closer to home. Really solid food options. Prices are fair. There is a bit of seating in this location but not much. I've been waiting for this location to open up! Ordered a small combo and was very surprised at how big the portion was. This can easily be split between two people and there's two larger sizes. Love the chicken fingers, fries and of course the honey mustard. That garlic bread was INSANE! The garlic butter makes it and really surprised me as how delicious it is. Went the first time for lunch. I ordered the small combo which is chicken fingers, fries, Cole slaw, honey mustard and a 16oz drink. First the portion of chicken fingers in a small was very good. There was a really a lot of fingers. The chicken fingers were very soft and tender and fried to perfection. The honey mustard was very tasty. My only issue was the crinkle cut fries which are just blah. Very little seasoning and not very crispy. They were also not very hot. Service was very quick which was great. read more

"I'll take a pound of fingers" is something that definitely sounds...odd, but if you lived in New Hyde Park or any surrounding town, you know what this means. But now, things are slowly shifting eastward as those fingers are chicken and that NHP staple has opened up its own little fast food-esque spot in Plainview. Confused? C'mon people, it's Dom's Famous Chicken Fingers comin' at ya! Now I've had Dom's more times than I can count, for lunch and during special events with every moment in between, but honestly, I never thought, hey, add a side of fries to these guys. With that, you're entering a new realm of eating. That's just what this Plainview extension has created by turning Dom's into almost a version of Raising Canes or any other chicken location. Like those spots, the interior is nothing crazy cool, but does take a little NHP with it and there's enough room to sit and enjoy your order immediately. Menu-wise there's combos, chicken finger sandwiches, and even a huge nod at the OG Dominick's Deli (ahem....Broadway) so you can't go wrong here. Perhaps on my maiden voyage to Plainview I should've ventured into new lands of Dom's by trying out the sauce varieties available or the aforementioned handhelds, but I couldn't help just going for the classic fingers. With that, I went with a small and medium combo (one for my wife, one for me) and I did grab a side of mac and cheese so something new was afoot. Well actually, the fries and the garlic toast accompanied with the combos can also count as different. The goods were taken home and thoroughly enjoyed. Those fingers were the same as they always are while the fries were pretty crispy and enjoyable. The garlic toast was also solid and Dom's has a fantastic slaw (which also came with the meal). That mac? Creamy goodness. If I could find any gripe it might just be that the soda machine they have for drinks is pretty limited and half of it was out of order so perhaps a look into alternative options might be necessary. Overall, Dom's Famous Chicken Fingers was legit. Price? Reasonably reasonable. Staff and speed of the order? Quick, hot, and correct. And the taste? You already know. So all that's left to say is if you have never tried these fingers, no judgement. But if that's the case, get to Plainview...now, and have fun saying you'd like some fingers for yourself! read more

So word is that Dom's Deli in NHP has some incredible tenders that are worth going out of your way for. NHP is quite deep from me so I always had it in the back of my head. I recently learned that they've ventured into becoming a tenders and fries establishment. Competition in this particular area is STIFF so you need a home run with these sort of things. Suffice to say, I was disappointed. I'm aware how these tenders are cut and served but really? Look at the size of these nuggets. As for flavor, unremarkable. They're known for being marinated in their great honey mustard but it seems that's it. There's no flavor beyond some sweetness in the meat and the breadcrumb coating is plain. The honey mustard itself is fantastic however, it's a sweeter less mustardy type. The coleslaw was also good but the cabbage was minced a bit thin I feel and kinda dissolved into it at times. The fries? Perfectly cooked and potatoey but severely unseasoned. Sensing a theme here? The mac and cheese was decent. It was made with a thick cheesy sauce... I feel like a real cheese topping on this would do wonders. The garlic toast was the best thing here, I loved the garlic butter spread over and made a mini sandwich with it. So Dom how do we fix this? The tenders could use more salt, spices, and a better cut. The fries desperately need salt or a unique spice blend. And the slaw cabbage could be cut a tad thicker. Whoever said all chicken tenders taste the same have clearly never tried "Dom's Famous Chicken Tenders." This place changed my life and I feel better for it. We were getting ready for the Giants Preseason game (Go Big Blue!) so we decided to grab some chicken. My brother heard about this place so I of course drove. Parking isn't an issue. There are plenty of spaces outside. Looking at the building, I notice the animated banner and thought to myself, this place looks fun. Inside was exactly what I expected, clean organized and modern. It was commercial without feeling commercial if you know what I mean. We walked over to the counter and ordered. There were so many people in the back cooking, but the girl at the counter took first place for being wonderful. She gave me a heads up that the food would take time because it was fresh. She didn't have to, but she did and that's a nice touch. However, we did not wait the long. I joked with her that it was quick. We all laughed I took the food and went back to my brother's house. I almost pulled over to start eating. The smell of the chicken and Mac and cheese were driving me mad. Somehow I made it without trying it....or did I? No one waisted time. The Mac and cheese went first. It was think and perfectly cheesy. If there was a record for the fastest eaten Mac and cheese, we won. The fries were okay, nothing to report. But what was number one were those crispy on the outside meaty on the inside, chicken tenders. The entire room was quiet as we dipped the tenders in the home made sauce. I couldn't believe the sauce was equally as delicious as the tenders. No one, and I mean eight guys, had nothing bad to say about those tenders. And on top of that, we didn't finish them. They gave us too much! Lucky for me, I took them home with me. But I have no choice, I have to go back. They have to be eaten fresh. First time trying Dom's and we liked everything. Medium combo was large enough for two to share. Fingers were delicious; Fries and Cole slaw too. Honey mustard was great. Pink lemonade was terrific, not too sweet. Lady at counter forgot to give us a cup for it. Had to go back and ask if it was included in combo. But it was past 7pm, so end of a long day? Sorry folks, but this food was not good. I know a lot of people like it but not for me. The chicken fingers were small but that's their thing. My primary problem was the taste, or lack thereof. I know a lot of people rave about the honey mustard marinade but it was all one note for me - too sweet! Where's the salt chef? There's no balance. The breading to me was also a miss. No flavor. Another missed opportunity. The sauces were plain including the honey mustard. No sharpness, no snap just blah. The Mac and cheese was pasty and under seasoned. And I wish I didn't have to talk about the fries but they were a tragedy! Not crispy, but dry. Not salted and very bland. Why is everything missing the basic flavor mark? Oh my g/d.... I live too close to dom's to be dangerous. The chicken fingers were so tasty, with a certain sweetness and crunch, the meal included fried & slaw & a drink. My friend and I certainly reveled at our leftovers. The Mac & cheese was great too read more

The chicken fingers are very good. They will satisfy you and the portions are generous if you order a medium. Is it a place I would go out of my way for? I mean, I guess if I was craving chicken fingers but I don't usually crave that. The workers are very nice and they seemed to know what they were doing. Fries were good too. "Famous Chicken Fingers" more like chicken scraps. Breading was soggy and falling off the chicken and had no flavor. Honey mustard sauce is more honey sauce than a mustard sauce. Garlic toast barely had any of the garlic butter in it. Would not recommend. read more
