Came here for my birthday! It was really really good just like I remembered. I was a bit late to the reservation but that wasn't a problem. Definitely need a reservation for Friday night. I've been going to the locations in the city before but I'm so glad they opened one up here. The drinks were delicious we tried the watermelon margarita, passionfruit sour, virgin Pina colada, and brisa de Lima. Made very well. For apps we got the grilled octopus and Nikkei ceviche. The grilled octopus came with two delightful sauces and some grilled mini potatoes. It was tender and flavorful. The Nikkei was like Peruvian tuna poke but I wish it was a little less salty. For mains we went all out. We got the matador combo and an arroz con mariscos and a full platter of jalea. It was enough food for 6 people with quite a bit left over. One of the standouts we never expected was the seafood rice.. the sauce it came in was rich and complex and creamy. Not like a paella, more like a risotto.. that was finished quickly everyone loved it. For the matador combo it is a huge amount of food. The chicken was standout juicy and came with a ton of sides like avocado salad, rice and beans, tostones, and salchipapas and fries. It was all really good and can fill up your party. The other fun food was the jalea, it's a fried mix seafood platter. I enjoyed the seafood used they had a mix of white fish, baby squid, calamari, clams, and yucca fries, all drizzled with this light but umami filled criolla salsa, which is a mix of red onions corn garlic and yumminess. Everyone was stuffed. Finally we had cake that I night and the cappuccinos we ordered were good as well. And the bill wasn't too crazy for 6 people with drinks. Dinner with friends and their recommendation... was thrilled to hear it was (one of) their locations. Had eaten there many years ago at the one in Queens. I recall the sangria being off the charts - did not disappoint. Ample portions - great service. Parking however is a bee with an itch. Valet is an option but prepare yourself to find street parking - although after a nice, hearty meal... the walk is welcome. Ambience is great- food is top notch. TLDR: It's that same Pio Pio you know and love. Personally, this might be my favorite location. If you've never been, Matador Combo. I've been going to Pio Pio for almost 20 years. As expected, they've finally expanded to Long Island in Glen Cove. Looks like the one in Jackson Heights but taller ceilings and less noisy. This might be the first time it was not someone's birthday (IYKYK) during service. It was just the wife + I so we stuck with the Matador Combo. If you've never had it, you get their famous chicken, an avocado salad, salchipapas (fries + hot dogs), plantains (sweet or savory) and rice/beans. We got a glass of sangria which is always classic and I tried the Marucaya (passionfruit) Sour and both were very tasty. I felt like the food comes out here FAST and the chicken was HOT. Possibly the best experience I've had at Pio Pio since the very first time I tried it in Jackson Heights. When they were in the tiny space that Amaru is in before they moved across the street. We'll probably go to this one from now on. Everything from the space, service, drinks and food were perfect. It's not that often when I leave a restaurant and everyone box was checked but tonight it was. I'd like to come back with more people so I can try some of the other items on the menu. read more

Yum! So glad this chain expanded to Long Island, and hoping they will open more locations eventually. My picky kids love their chicken. It's consistently always delicious, and their green sauce is the best. The food is good quality too (their salad has a whole avocado sliced on it and lots of veggies in it - everything thinly sliced, it's delicious). The sides come in a good portion size too. Such a great dinner spot! I've only ever been to a Pio Pio restaurant once and this time it was just as delicious as I remembered! The staff is very kind and always checked in to make sure everything was alright. They seemed to be quite busy however so there could be a wait when you go. I think they would benefit from some sort of online reservation system because they seemed overwhelmed. I saw they were writing down all the folks who were waiting but sometimes they seemed to lose track of it. We had a group that came in way after my group and they had gotten seated immediately when it seemed to be our turn. Food wise, I really enjoyed everything I had. I had their paella and I loved how it tasted almost like a risotto! The sticky rice absorbed all the flavors and seasonings and it was so well balanced. Of course I had to get their chicken and while I'm not usually the biggest fan of chicken, it was one of the most tender chickens I've ever had. While not pictured, we also had sangria which could give about 6-8 glasses! Their white wine sangria was delicious and tasted like juice. Lastly we ended with some dessert and had their ice cream. Pio Pio was the first time I got to try Peruvian food and I was not disappointed! The service was great and the food did not disappoint! The seafood?! so fresh!! I know Pio Pio is known for their chicken but you have to get their seafood too. I've seen mixed reviews about their chicken and I usually stray away from ordering chicken at restaurants because most of the time, it's too dry. However, the chicken was super juicy and paired well with the rice and sauce that it comes with! My family and I are happy that Pio Pio has made it to Long Island. read more

So glad to see a Pio Pio on Long Island! I came here for dinner on a Wednesday night; the perfect night to come as it wasn't crowded. We were greeted and seated immediately by someone who ended up being our server for the night. It's nice inside and the food was on point just as it was at the Manhattan location. My friend and I ordered chicken empanadas and maduros (plaintains) to share which came out super quick. So fast that I'm about 99.99% sure these were already prepared and just waiting to be served to whoever ordered it. For an entree we both ordered Arroz Chaufa (made fresh) - rice, chicken, egg, bean sprouts, etc and got their homemade red Sangria. Yum! Add that green sauce for some added flava. The parking at this location can probably be a bit of a nuisance especially on a crowded night but don't let that stop you from enjoying this go to gem! I'll be back for sure. read more

I love Pio Pio in the city. I was happy to see it came to Long Island closer to some family. The location is good and the interior has a variety of seating available whether it's at the bar, one of the round tables or a more secluded area for groups - the leather sofa or the long table by the window. The food is the same overall, but I've noticed that certain foods are more salty or more sweet in taste than normal. That is why I dropped it two stars. The servers are attentive and getting orders in is easy. Definitely good for families and groups as the serving sizes and portions are a lot larger than your typical dining experience on the island. They insist the Peruvian chickens, say Pio Pio, rather than cluck cluck. This is part of the chain in Manhattan and Queens, but seems a bit more upscale, with modern, stylish decorations, a full bar, and a more extensive menu. There was a small lot with valet parking. Every table inside was taken at 7 o'clock. Five of us started by sharing ceviche and chicken empanadas that were delicious. Our main course was seafood, Peruvian paella in a cream sauce, and Peruvian combo with a whole rotisserie chicken, red rice and salad. We were wowed by the paella it was very flavorful, but mostly rice with a few bite size pieces of shellfish. For dessert, we shared a tres leche cake and house cake with fruit ice cream. read more

For years, my fam has been going to Pio Pio to celebrate a family birthday. Prior to this year our go to was the Jackson Heights location, which was a bit of logistical PITA with the traffic and parking so I suggested we try the relatively recently opened location on Long Island. The whole gang of about 20 of us were very pleased we did. If you know Pio Pio then you know the chicken is the thing - somehow this location's food was the best we had in years. The chicken was super juicy and flavorful. The sides like maduros, avocado salad, salchipapa, tostones, rice and beans were all elevated from the ones we've been getting in JH in recent years. We ordered a few Jalea - fried mixed seafood topped with tomatoes and onions which was tasty, but maybe not as generous as we received in JH. Their signature sangria was still hitting. The vibe here is more upscale and I remember thinking this was a really beautiful space. Despite the upgrade everything was still comfortably casual. To match the vibe the service is stepped up a notch - more attentive and on top of things then we grew used to in JH. All these great upgrades along with easy valet parking making this our go to Pio Pio spot going forward. read more

Finally had the chance to visit the very new Pio pio in Glen cove . What a great addition to the neighborhood. First let's talk about the ambiance ... sexy, upscale vibe. Love the layout , we were seated at a very private table , we felt like we were in the Caribbean on vacation somewhere . The bar is beautiful , well stocked and excellent bartender . Order the sangria... thank me later The food is 10/10 , everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and super fresh . The ceviche was out of this world , the chicken is juicy and flavorful. Order green sauce for your chicken, it's a game changer ! Service was decent, I can't complain, it was Saturday and very busy . Happy we were able to be seated at 8pm on a Saturday with no wait ! *For those who worry about indoor dining at cramped places, the tables are very spaced out and it's a huge space. Every time we try to order the chicken and to try a new dish. We tried the beef heart skewers from our most recent visit. Although the beef heart is a little firm, I liked the flavor and don't mind ordering again. Taking a star off because the menu says 3% discount for cash purchase, but we didn't get a discount when we paid in cash. I love that there is a Long Island location now!!! I've enjoyed pio pio since the 90's from their original location on Woodhaven Blvd in Queens. What's truly amazing is how no matter which location you go to, the quality, the portions, the flavors are EXACTLY the same and consistent. You can't go strong with the Matador Combo, ever but the true stars of their menu is their Mixed Jalea : a generous mix of fried seafood is fresh and mouthwatering; Lomo Saltado: created for picky kids, a stir fry of steak, onions, peppers and french fries, their version is the closest to what I had in Peru; and their ceviches! Their marinated Rotisserie chicken is phenomenal and you must get a vat of their green hot sauce, no other Peruvian place compares when it comes to that sauce! Oh and I swear there is crack in the salad dressing because it's super simple yet so freaking addictive! This is a must go no matter which location. read more

I've always enjoyed the original Pio Pio location on Woodhaven Blvd however once we moved out to Long Island, I noticed there were few amazing Peruvian food however sometime during Covid, I noticed a "Pio Pio" open up in Glen Cove which I thought could not have been the same as the one I was accustomed to however to my surprise it was. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and juicy as should be. You can never go wrong with throwing that green sauce over everything. I highly also recommend the ceviches and tostones. read more

When I saw this opened AND delivered to me, I already knew I'd be placing orders frequently and let me say IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I've ordered their matador combo, empanadas, green sauce tubs (this is my usual order lol) and it hits the spot every time! I've taken off a star because for one order the green sauce wasn't consistent with previous orders, I wasn't super thrilled about that since the green sauce tub is extra, and literally makes the whole meal. Prices are incredible considering the quality of the food and ambiance. The Tiradito, the Ceviche, the Chupe are simply amazing, besides the roasted chicken. As a Pio Pio fanatic and Long Island native I was ecstatic to hear that they opened their first Long Island location. I tried to order some new things but there are just some tried and trues that cannot be missed. The new location is vibrant and popping. The open dining room concept creates a bustling atmosphere centered around food and chatter. The service as always is prompt and on task. We order some empanadas and calamari. Both were of exceptional quality. We also tried the lomo saltado which was wonderful. I'm Peruvian so I'm a harsh critic on lomos, this was great but not the absolute best. The thunder was brought by the Matador combo. Chicken, salchipapa, rice and beans, salad and maduros. The works. 3+ people this is the way to go. The chicken never misses and in over 100 Pio Pio restaurant visits it has missed the mark only once. Do not leave without trying the chicken. Sangria was great. I went to here last Friday night. So happy to see valet parking! When u enter the building, there's a huge welcoming bar. We couldn't really take advantage of it because there was a child with us. Maybe next time... We started off with some enchiladas which were stuffed with chicken and they were delicious. We also had the sliced hot dogs and fries. They were good also. For dinner, we enjoyed chicken, rice and beans, ceviche and lomo saltada. All was absolutely delicious and flavorful. The chicken was moist, the ceviche was perfect and the lomo, with all the crisp veggies was delicious. The rice and beans were perfect. I would go back and I do recommend. read more

I've been to pio pio since I was little girl - back when their first restaurant was open in woodhaven. They've definitely come a long way. I was actually very excited to know Agusto- the owner opened a new location in Long Island! We actually came to this location twice once on a regular Sunday and then on Mother's Day. I have to say I was very impressed with their chicken. Let it alone being a busy day, the chicken was very fresh and well seasoned. We tried their arroz chaufa and that was also a fav. Anticuchos were good and the combos were well made. Only thing I wasn't a fan was their hot sauce (green sauce) needed flavor- it was very bland. I was mainly using the rocotto from the anticuchos for spice. I'm sure they'll improve it- let's hope. Ambiance is very similar to the style of pio pio - open concept. They played good music but it is a loud environment. Didn't get to try their signature cocktails but I will next time I go back- although My mom did have their sangria in which she wasn't a fan of. read more

The jalea was so good and with a great variety of seafood. Also had melt in your mouth maduros and well-fried salchipapas. We had the sangria- perfect with the food.
