Pollo Ensalada
Mike P.

When we walked in on a Saturday evening, the place was empty. Empty on a Saturday evening? Is that a red flag? As my family and I were deciding whether to stay or not, we were burned too many times from these types of scenarios and were reluctant to go through that again. Then a lady from the back greeted us. Awww, what the heck? We had a long day and were hungry. How bad can the food be? The Google reviews were mostly trolls reviewing with low ratings and answered with witty and sarcastic replies from the business. Sarcasm is my kind of language. I ordered the Pollo A La Brasa 1/2 chicken entree with a side of rice and beans and ordered an additional side of maduros. We also ordered the skirt steak and chicken salad. The food came. The chicken salad was loaded with onions. There were enough onions to fill a plate. Must have been the market special with red onions. Wished it had avocados tho, that would have made it a bussin' salad. But no complaints on the salad except for the mountain of onions and no avocado. There was also alot of liquid at the bottom of the salad, did not look like dressing, looked like they rinsed the salad first with water or something. Was a clear liquid, not resembling lemon juice and oil. But, that's fine, no one died and we just poured the liquid out onto a spare plate. The skirt steak came with a side of chimichurri. My chicken dish was missing something. The Aji Verde sauce! I asked our hostess if there was aji verde sauce. Yep, she forgot and brought it out. I can say that the aji verde sauce was a highlight, I thought it was very fresh and not as processed as the aji verde sauce they serve at Pio Pio. The beans and rice are considered 2 separate sides, which I don't understand, since it goes together. The beans was in a broth, they weren't pinto beans, but a yellow bean. They didn't use sazon to season it, but that's fine, jt was still tasty. So 4 stars for me. As we enjoyed our meal even though there were a couple things that could have been an issue for another, but whatever, no one died and we left satisfied.

Lomo saltado

3.5 stars. Went today on a Friday night. Only had 1 other table there. I know this is a new restaurant so I won't be too harsh. We got their mon-fri dinner special - $21 for 3 courses. I got ceviche, lomo saltado, and the dessert of that day which is ice cream. The ceviche I really did not like, it was fish like tilapia? and kind of chewy (I'm used to a mixed of fish/shrimp?) the lomo saltado was a lot salty but honestly really good! I also had the seafood soup which was 10/10, had a lot of seafood and only $13! We also got some empanada, which is pretty good - nothing spectacular. Overall, I think the dinner special is pretty good deal and would come back if I was around the area!

The food did not meet my expectations. Especially for the price I paid. And the waiter was very blunt for no reason.

I wanted to bring my parents some food, but not "fast food". We love Peruvian as it's the closest comfort food we've ever had that is just like home cooking and I know my parents would love it. I found this restaurant online, and the reviews were promising. I ordered on their website and set the pick up time. The payment went through on my end because I received a notification immediately upon paying. When we arrived to the restaurant, I was unsure where to enter. I accidentally entered the dine in restaurant section. They seem to have multiple spaces; a nicer restaurant with dim lighting, neon lights and a lively ambience, a more casual dining area that was empty this particular night, and then a bar section for drinks and takeout. One of the employees walked me over to the pick up area near the bar, and I let them know I placed my order. The woman looks confused and fetched the owner/manager. They claimed my payment never went through. I told them that 100% it did go through as I received a message saying such. They asked for proof of payment. I showed them my online bank account, showing the payment pending. The transaction was made through *their* specific payment set up on the restaurant's website. At this point I began to get irritated. I asked them if my food was ready because I ordered ahead for the main purpose of having the food ready by the time I arrived. They seem to still believe that maybe the payment did not go through and reluctantly began preparing my order. They could definitely sense that I was getting upset and my patients was running thin. They also obviously did not have my food ready so I ended up having to wait longer than anticipated. I had my husband come in with our kid, ordered some shots and a couple drinks. They were nice enough to comp us a couple drinks to make up for the inconvenience. Their natural juices do taste very good. I tried their passion fruit. I got my parents a rotisserie chicken and chaufa. I also tried both and they were great. I ordered myself a tamale but left it out all night and had to throw it away. I'm still pissed about that. They get 3 stars because the food and drinks were good, and they made up for their mistake, but I'm still a bit annoyed at their janky payment system. They're conveniently close to my parents' house so I'll probably try them again but maybe stop by in person and order take out while enjoying a drink at the bar.

There was a classy and welcoming feel to the place. Upon being seated, there were complimentary corn nuts with a savory green sauce. These were tasty and addicting, with a satisfying crunch. For my drink, I wanted to try the Purple Corn beverage. The waiter brought me Purple Corn and Passionfruit juices, recommending that I mix them together. I sampled them separately at first, and loved the taste of both. The Purple Corn was delicate and sweet, while the Passionfruit was citrusy and refreshing. I wasn't sure I would them as much together, but it turned out to be a delightful blend. I ordered the Steak with Sausage, along with sides of Tostones, Salad, Rice, and Moro. The Steak had lovely grill marks, was wonderfully tender and well seasoned. The Sausage was juicy and also bursting with flavor. Tostones were perfectly crispy, thin, and oh so flavorful. Some of the best I have tasted! Salad was a nice and colorful mix of corn, purple onion, tomatoes, avocados, bringing a fresh element to the dish. White rice was fluffy and cooked well. The Moro I did not care for, because I found it to be bland. Service was excellent. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I enjoyed my meal here and would return if in the area to try one of the Seafood dishes.

Came here for my birthday! It was really really good just like I remembered. I was a bit late to…read morethe reservation but that wasn't a problem. Definitely need a reservation for Friday night. I've been going to the locations in the city before but I'm so glad they opened one up here. The drinks were delicious we tried the watermelon margarita, passionfruit sour, virgin Pina colada, and brisa de Lima. Made very well. For apps we got the grilled octopus and Nikkei ceviche. The grilled octopus came with two delightful sauces and some grilled mini potatoes. It was tender and flavorful. The Nikkei was like Peruvian tuna poke but I wish it was a little less salty. For mains we went all out. We got the matador combo and an arroz con mariscos and a full platter of jalea. It was enough food for 6 people with quite a bit left over. One of the standouts we never expected was the seafood rice.. the sauce it came in was rich and complex and creamy. Not like a paella, more like a risotto.. that was finished quickly everyone loved it. For the matador combo it is a huge amount of food. The chicken was standout juicy and came with a ton of sides like avocado salad, rice and beans, tostones, and salchipapas and fries. It was all really good and can fill up your party. The other fun food was the jalea, it's a fried mix seafood platter. I enjoyed the seafood used they had a mix of white fish, baby squid, calamari, clams, and yucca fries, all drizzled with this light but umami filled criolla salsa, which is a mix of red onions corn garlic and yumminess. Everyone was stuffed. Finally we had cake that I night and the cappuccinos we ordered were good as well. And the bill wasn't too crazy for 6 people with drinks. The only annoying part was that the roof was a bit drippy it rained and I felt occasionally drips of water on my head..
