This…read moretime, the rotisserie chicken was incredibly fresh, you could tell it had just finished cooking. The beans, salchipapa, and salad were also good. However, the rice was not cooked all the way through, which was very disappointing. We also ordered the fried fish fillet; while the fish itself was good, the rice was again undercooked, and we ended up throwing it out. Additionally, the salad dressing was very 'blah' this time; I'm not sure if they changed the ingredients, but it wasn't the same as usual. The service is quick, and I usually call ahead to order for takeout, as the store is quite small.

This place is mainly takeout but there are three tables inside for parties of two or three. My husband had the lomo saltado and since the kitchen is right there, we saw her cooking it and it was like seeing your favorite aunt making you your favorite meal. The owner and what I think are her family were very warm and welcoming. It was clear they are a staple in their community here. He thought the lomo saltado was the best ever, and we're from an area that has a lot of Peruvian. They even had his Inca-Kola. I got the quarter chicken meal and it was equally as well-seasoned and satisfying, super moist and flavorful. Definitely some place you want to try if you want authentic Peruvian cuisine served with heart. Also note: this place is not associated with the other La Vicharra in the area.

I am appalled by this behavior l, unfortunately the owner was not there. She is Peruvian and always supports Peruvian business, not this one anymore. Only because she is Latino would they treat her like this. I will Make sure to never go to this location, I rather spend my money on the other Vicharra in Glen Cove.

Like what the other reviewers said, the ambience could be better and the wait staff does need more training. We had a sweet waitress but got our orders wrong and really didn't know anything about Peruvian food. It was almost comical. Good thing we were the only ones there and we were in no rush. The food though....super YUM! From the green sauce with the corn nuts, down to the churros. We got a shrimp ceviche, steamed fish with tomato sauce and fried fish with yucca fried and tomato onions. I loved the steamed fish. Really delicious and cooked perfectly. We wolfed it down before I could take pictures. The fried fish was crunchy on the outside but not over cooked. Tasty! Both dishes came with a mound of pyramid shaped rice. Churros were simple but delicious. Ours came with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar, which was fine for us. I will be back to try more dishes on the menu. Would love to see their famous rotisserie chicken offered here as well. If they work on the service, it will bring the restaurant to a whole different level.

The sushi menu is creative and tasty - and they were very flexible when I asked to substitute one roll for another in the sushi dinner. The location is great - nice outdoor seating with a water view and ample (but tight) indoor seating. Plenty of parking in the stop n shop lot. If you haven't eaten here yet, you should.

There is a small parking lot behind the restaurant so parking is fairly convenient. The restaurant is located right across a harbor and has beautiful views! We were lucky enough to get a 4 person table outside overlooking the water, which made our dinner so pleasant. Service was quick and easy, had no issues there. The restaurant hours are pretty tricky though they are only open for a few hours each night so would definitely made a reservation even if you are coming on a weekday. The food was actually very very good!! Given the Japanese and Peruvian fusion, there is a lot of sushi options on the menu but also a lot of asian fusion dishes and Peruvian dishes. We were able to order a lot of different things like the peppers, eggplant chips, beef wontons, mushroom soup, mix ceviche, cripsy rice rushi, scallops, lemon shrimp, and sliders. Honestly everything was delicious. What stood out the most were the peppers and the beef wonton. The flavors were very unique, not sure if I can say I've had anything similar elsewhere. Overall, we did not think Nikkei of Peru was too expensive either, felt like we got a very decent amount for what we paid for. Combined with the view and the adorable town of Port Washington, this is a wonderful place to eat!

An absolutely amazing experience from start to finish!…read more I've always loved Jora in Long Island City and had been wanting to go back, but then I heard about Urubamba Pisco Bar. I was excited to learn it's the sister restaurant, owned by the same family, so my expectations were high...and they absolutely met! My family was visiting, and it was the perfect opportunity to finally try it. We started with the Ceviche Mixto and Grilled Octopus, both of which were incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. For our entrées, we ordered the Pollo a la Brasa, Adobo, and Tallarines a la Huancaína, and every single dish was outstanding. The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly executed. The cocktails were just as impressive...unique, creative, delicious, and every bit as good a expected. The service was warm and welcoming... and the entire experience felt like a true family restaurant. The biggest compliment? My 5-year-old nephew couldn't stop licking his fingers because he loved the food so much! I can't wait to come back and highly recommend Urubamba Pisco Bar to anyone looking for incredible Peruvian cuisine, amazing drinks, and exceptional hospitality.

I'm vegan so it may just be that the vegan dishes weren't as good, but i was sadly disappointed. Starting with the vegan appetizer. I was expecting a purple sweet potato based on description, but it ended up being a potato mashed with some other ingredients into a paste and put back into the shape of a potato. Wasn't a huge fan of that. The vegan stir fry also seemed to be lacking in texture and flavor. Everything was fresh, but the abundance of mushrooms was overpowering and a lot of one thing. The yucca fries were pretty good. Now the sauces - to die for and so fresh! I was so in love with the drinks (cocktails and mocktails). The complementary Peruvian corn and house made sauces were such a treat. Hoping they expand their vegan dishes soon to keep us coming back.
