A meat-filled empanada, partially eaten, is placed on a decorative paper plate with blue and white patterns, on a wooden surface.

Sophia's Empanadas opened recently and we gave them a try. It's a small place but very cute with some seating inside. The staff was super friendly!! We love a good empanada!!! We tried a variety of empanadas both flour and corn. We had the chicken, rice and cheese and the pernil. My GF prefers the flour empanada with chicken while my absolute favorite was the corn empanada with pernil!!! The juices just gush!!! Everything was delicious and fresh!! They even reheated perfectly in the air fryer as we saved some for later. Even days later they were delicious!!!! Definitely recommend giving them a try!!

Every time I passed by I was waiting for it to open. It ended up opening about a month ago but I made it in! They're so friendly and the main dishes are probably great. Today I only got empanadas to go. I got the jalapeño cheddar carne in both yellow and white flour. Guava and cheese pollo and pernil. They're frying them fresh so I recommend calling ahead or just enjoy hanging out in their welcoming dinning area. Can't wait to go back for a meal.

This place opened up not long ago and passed by twice and decided to give it a go. I really love the ambiance of the place. Clean and spacious. The owner Sofia is very friendly and explains well. Has a very nice food selection and so many choices for empanadas. I love how it's all made fresh. Of course I just ordered so much food just to give it all a try. Trying both flower and corn empanadas. I love the platter diced that they offer. Empanadas are just all delicious. They have the ham, cheese and pineapple. Must try! Get the soups. Tried all three and just delicious. Will be coming often.

Was excited to try this place. I ordered the flour beef and chicken empanadas and the corn pork empanada. The lack of meat was really disappointing, they weren't listed as meat and potatoes, so to have them be majority potatoes shocked me. I could understand maybe some to be binding and add moisture. But even my friend was like, where's the meat.

Two fried empanadas are placed on a white plate, one with a bite taken out of it, on a wooden table.

What a great place with great food. Over 20 kinds of empanadas and some fine dining entrees as well. Stop in to enjoy the awesome service and authentic decor ! You won't be disappointed. PS: you must finish up with the bread pudding !!!!

Maduro - A baked dish with melted cheese on top is served on a white plate, with a bowl of soup and a small dish of green sauce on the side.

As soon as we walked in, the manager Stephan was right at the door ready to greet us. He already knew who we were and welcomed us like we were regulars. That kind of attentiveness is rare--you usually have to look for a manager, but here he was front and center, making sure everything was perfect from the start. The restaurant was busy (always a good sign!), but we were seated quickly and treated with such kindness and efficiency. The service overall was excellent--friendly, attentive, and just a great vibe all around. And the FOOD... absolutely incredible. I had the skirt steak with rice, beans, and salad--10/10, full of flavor and cooked perfectly. My friend had the fish and loved it just as much. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. Between the amazing food and the outstanding service, this place is a gem. Huge thank you to Stephan and the entire team for making us feel so welcomed--we'll definitely be back!

I asked the server what it was because how amazing it smelled, and he said it was the mixed seafood in lobster sauce. I ordered that and it came. There was squid, shrimp, mussel and clam in the soup. It's an extremely friendly establishment. I highly recommend it to anyone.

I ordered one of their signature arepas: The Joint and it was great. It was juicy, packed with a good amount of food and was a nice combination of flavors. As a plantain enthusiast this was the perfect arepa for me. 1 arepa would be filling for the average person. My boyfriend ordered the El Poco Loco for us to split which I wasn't too crazy about - it reminded me of a crispy chicken sandwich and I didn't care for the sauce on this. I didn't bother to eat this after the first bite. Additionally I got to try the tres leches and this was better than I expected. I'm always hesitant to try tres leches because there are so many ways to prepare it. This way was more classic and simple with just the cake and the 3 milks at the bottom. It came served in a square dessert cup. It felt a little small for the price but the taste was worth it. My only constructive feedback for the cake is that the cake would be even better if it was a little less dry as far as texture but that can be hard to balance as you don't want the cake to become too wet over time due to it soaking in the milk. I can't wait to revisit: I'll be getting the tres leches again and would love to try the El Guey.

As a trial I ordered the minis and got one of each. The bread is light and fluffy and the meats sufficient with nothing special about the cheese. They come with different dips of 3. Now the Empanada of ham and cheese was perfectly cooked and fresh. They have a variety of specialty drinks and of course bottled water. (see pix) Their food is Columbian and or Venezuelan and was made fresh. They do not have desserts of which there is an icecream place in their shopping strip and a deli, the later having various puddings for sale.
