Awesome spring day with their outdoor seating
Eric R.

Tried yummy gyro again and yes, they are still yummy. They cleaned up the menu and I seem to understand it now and I ordered correctly. They still haven't cleaned up their production capacity. You still wait a reasonably long time to get a Gyro sandwich but it was worth it. It was tasty, hot and delicious. Sometimes you just have to have a little patience. Will come back.

Dinner time for the kids! We tried a local gyro shop: Yummy Gyro. Ambience: a small takeout type place with limited seating. Food: we ordered the Gyro family pack which consisted of: Pork Donner: chunks of savory roasted pork. 4/5 Chicken Gyro - I wasn't a fan of this as it felt like eating a roasted slices of processed cold cuts instead of slices of chicken. 3/5 Lemon potatoes - lemony starch to complement the protein. 4/5

Greek Salad

A delicious convenient way to get your Greek on... tzatziki and babaganoush had plenty of garlic like they are supposed to. Th lamb/beef gyro was tender and generous, the salads had plenty of feta. Even the burger was good! Kali Oreksi!

Best Gyro on Long Island! They absolutely stuff the pitas with loads of gyro meat, sauce, and cheese so there is zero room for complaint when it comes to getting great value for your dollars. The gyro meat itself is fresh and juicy but the tzatziki sauce is where it's at -- dip your fries, your pita, your fingers, you name it! Owner is a nice guy who's been here for almost 15 years so he knows the keys to success are great food, great value and great customer service. At $9.95 the gyro is a great deal. $12.95 gets you delicious fries and a can of soda. When in Williston, do as Willistons do! Head to Yummy Gyro!

Nice!

This almost feels like I'm writing my first review. I say that because Yummy Gyro was (basically) the initial place I picked up an order from during these new days that we're unfortunately living in. But hey, it was tasty nonetheless! A few weeks ago, when pick-ups and curbsides and deliveries started becoming all the rage (out of necessity) Yummy Gyro was the place to order from...well, actually we had an original first-choice (The Greek Place), but after countless calls with no answer and nothing on social media, we figured they had closed up shop while we live through corona-ville. Totally understandable, but due to that, Yummy Gyro was the next restaurant up and met most of our Greek/Mediterranean-ish needs. Even if the world was right and we could dine where we wanted, Yummy Gyro is a takeout first-eat there if you must kind of place. No seriously, they have like two tables (and a couple outside) so it's not like you're missing much. The place was cramped with three people inside it making social distancing that much more problematic. Luckily, when we showed up to grab our order, it was ready to roll. Paying in advance would've been nice though, but I'm not gonna nitpick. Once back home, we dove into our savory selections. My girlfriend went with a basic gyro (side salad included) that hit the spot for her. For me, I can't help but go after crazy concoctions of sandwiches. You tell me you have "Pitas of the Gods" then I shall be getting one of those (plus this isn't too far off from what The Greek Place does so it almost made up for missing out on them). I went with the Hades which consisted of lamb and beef gyro meat, tomato, onion, spicy feta, tzatziki, and fries (yes in it!) all on pita bread. Needless to say, this was delicious. Did it live up to some other godly items? Perhaps not, but it did the trick. My side salad was also acceptable as were the side of lemon potatoes we indulged in. Overall, Yummy Gyro is pretty darn...yummy (it was there, I had to do it). The food isn't out of this world, but it fills the gyro needs well. They're also not really meant to eat at so they fit nicely into this current climate of available food choices due to corona. Might I add you'll get 10% off for pick up or delivery. Not too shabby, I must say. So if you're looking for a meal to-go right now, Yummy Gyro isn't a bad option. Perhaps it'll get another review once things go back to normal and this doesn't feel like a first time!

Greek salad with dead bug

We used to order from here but after finding a dead bug in our Greek salad we won't be ordering again. Also looks like there was a second bug in the smaller salad container

I was out in Long Island and visiting my friends for labor day weekend . We were deciding if we wanted to go out for lunch or just order. We decided to order in because it was about 7 adults and six kids so take out would be easier . Food was okay not special . Pita chips was not crunchy enough. Fries were good . My lamb gyro was big and food spilled out of the sandwich. My friend had the Hades and she said it was dry and had to use extra hot sauce on it. They also forgot to include utensils. Overall we would again if it was for a easy lunch .

Horrible food. Over cooked. Arrived cold. VERY overpriced! That's a $9.49 bean salad and a $2.99 serving of tzatziki. What an overcharge!

I opted for the lentil soup. They started us off with complimentary pita and tzatziki dipping sauce. The sauce was so yummy and very fresh. I actually took the rest of the leftovers home and used it for a few days in a variety of dishes I made. The soup was okay. My grandma got the lemon and chicken soup and it was very lemony and salty. Our food was taking a bit of time considering we were the only ones in the restaurant, I think the server was distracted by wrapping the utensils for tables. She came to take our finished soups. And the food finally came out, huge portions. My gyro was covered with lettuce cuts but not the freshest lettuce. The server was kind of slow for only have two tables. The ambience was nice. Greek music was playing and the decor was nice.

We ordered a lot and the portions are generous, so we had plenty of leftovers. The staff were kind and the standout dishes for me were their appetizers: the octopus appetizer and the crab cakes. Both were delicious and I highly recommend. I feel like sometimes I find the way restaurants cook octopus lacking, but I really loved the way they did it. Crab cakes were similarly so good. Four stars because some of the entrees didn't wow me as much (e.g., the moussaka, pasticcio platter) and the soups that were sides were solid but nothing I'd go out of the way. Overall, a great option in the area.

Wow. What a find…read more First of all, the decor is beautiful: open spaces, super clean with plenty of seating. Service is smart and friendly. Everything we ordered was exceptional. We shared the cold dip sampler (taramasalata, babaganoush, tzatziki) and crispy eggplant and zucchini chips. Highly recommend both...the picky eater at the table (who literally eats no vegetables) couldn't stop eating the chips. Rave reviews of the Alaskan halibut and the pork chop. I had the Rocca avocado salad with grilled chicken. Again-excellent! Dessert? Chocolate mousse and custard - I tasted both and loved each option. The mousse was somehow rich, dark...yet "light" at the same time. The custard was warm and had a thin layer of phyllo dough with a drizzle of honey sauce. We arrived when it wasn't too busy on a week night; I'd recommend reservations on weekends. I'll definitely be back!

The cocktail drinks took a long time to arrive, and they arrived after the appetizers--and were incorrect, so we had to send them back. The main dishes took another hour to be served. I have pictures with timestamps showing the delay, with over an hour between the appetizers and the main courses. During this time, we asked for extra bread and clarification, but the servers seemed unsure and kept pointing at each other, which was frustrating. Later, a manager explained that the delay was due to our ordering moussaka, but if the kitchen was overwhelmed, they could have let us know. We're reasonable guests, but their explanations felt lacking. Overall, the service was quite poor. To make matters worse, they added a 20% gratuity charge--something we usually tip pretty well even though service is too bad to tip. But I don't expect to tip 20% to this horrible service. We really enjoy the food here, but unfortunately, due to the experience, we don't think we'll be returning.

I'll start by saying that aesthetically, everything looks amazing and the portions are huge. The menu is interesting. There wasn't SO much that I wanted (a strange amount of Panko-breaded options) but ultimately settled on the Pegasus wrap (which I see now isn't even on the menu on the website but is orderable?). It's essentially a lamb gyro wrap with French fries, onions, and spicy feta sauce. The lamb gyro I felt was a bit lacking in both seasoning and amount. I'll never really support raw onions in a dish, so that was a bummer. But what I think really ruined this wrap for me was the spicy feta sauce. I'm not totally sure the thought process behind this choice, but it doesn't work for this combination of ingredients. And I can handle spicy pretty well but this was really quite spicy. I would have much preferred a normal feta/tzatziki combo. And the French fries in every wrap/sandwich is a choice and kind of overpowered the other ingredients. That being said, I would consider going back for something else on the menu because the prices (especially for the portion) is nice.

For $19, I should have a large salad, with plenty of lettuce. I'm a vegan, so I I asked to leave out the feta. Still... $19 for this. I can see $12 at most. I felt robbed. Our reason for calling was to make them aware, not to receive a refund nor get something in return we just simply wanted to make them aware.
