I somewhat enjoyed their steak bowl, the flavors were okay but the steak was inedible. It was very tough and a very fibrous, I can best describe it as hard and cold. It ruined my bowl. I was also confused by the pricing. It seems I was up charged a lot. I paid almost $50 for 2 steak bowls with the sauce on the side and 1 baklava. One of the options on my lunch rotation working in the area and it's pretty decent. I enjoy being able to choose the ingredients of my salad-the chicken meatballs are pretty solid and the toppings (spicy feta, baba ghanoush, hummus, etc.) are all pretty solid. The overall price is somewhat higher than I would expect but it ends up very easily being enough food for two meals, especially if you get the optional (included) pita. I don't at all understand why at the end they cover it all in cling wrap but I love it. For a while they didn't take Apple pay which was inconvenient but I think they may have adopted that. read more

Same delicious bowls, this time I chose the meat,hummas,chickpeas, red cabbage and orange rice. Topped off with a delicious lemon dressing. It was my first time at this location that just opened a few years ago, and it was definitely much cleaner & bigger than the one near me in Roslyn. I got the 2-meat option platter with mixed salad + bulgar rice and opted for steak & meatballs, chickpeas, hummus & tahini sauce. I originally asked for the hummus to be on the side so I could eat it with the included pita bread, but the staff said no. Mind you, the staff were friendly, but they barely spoke English, I heard them speaking Spanish amongst themselves. My platter rang up to be $22.26, which was fine because everything tasted good and fresh. I ordered the same exact platter from another Wild Fig today, and it was $15.74. I think I've been overcharged here, who knows. Would I be back? Possibly since their food is pretty good. read more

This is definitely my favorite mediterránean restaurant. Really nice variety of healthy choices of food. I would say this place is the mediterránean versión of a Chipotle, but better then Chipotle they give you bigger portions of meat. If you are looking for some healthy food options ,this is your restaurant. If you like Vegan or vegetarian food you can eat here with no problems. Me and my wife tried the chicken over rice with white sauce. I have to admit the food was good, they also gave us nice size portion of food. They are not stingy with there chicken like some places. I don't know what it is but their red lentil soup and their grilled chicken that tops the salad bowl are ADDICTING. I had those delivered 3 times in one week while recuperating from Covid. The soup always lifted my spirits and the grilled chicken salad I ordered would fill me up. Their pita bread is exquisite as well and comes with every order. GOOD: The hummus, the cucumber salad, the chickpea rice, the sauces. The rice is well seasoned and there are a variety of sauces that you can choose from. There's a pomegranate one that was quite nice. What could be better - the chick pea salad was quite dry and crunchy and kind of got in the way of the other components, some of which that were quite moist/wet and so that stark contrast was too jarring as the crunchy chickpeas kind of become brittle in your mouth. The bread was just fine though it does come with your meal, soft enough. Glad that it's an option for the area but not sure if I'll be returning as it's not necessarily a cheap option either (15ish bucks for the platter) read more

I was actually pretty surprised by the food here. You can create your own salad bowl, rice bowl, or sandwich with their flatbread. I chose to create a salad bowl which was actually very big and it was stuffed too. The ingredients for the toppings were very fresh and they give a good amount of each. They also have a choice of protein which include chicken, meatballs, falafel, and steak. I got the chicken which was a bit tough. Each entree also comes with a flatbread that was warm and pretty tasty. They have different sauces as well but I liked the tahini sauce! Based on the Falafel and Hummus Sandwich I ordered for lunch, I would give this eatery 0 stars if I could. The sandwich itself is made on an oversized flatbread too big to eat without cutting it in half first, and the inclusion of grains made it impossible to pick up. I had to send my son back to get a plate and fork in order to try it, and once I did, my disappointment grew, as it was visually unappealing and tasteless. A complete waste of money. The greek salad with chicken that my son ordered looked better and he said tasted fine. However, if a restaurant can't make a decent sandwich, that's a pretty bad commentary. Let's go back in time! This isn't the best kind of trip to the past because it showcases the very beginning of the unfortunateness that had to occur (for our safety, of course) in the inability to eat at any food establishment starting around mid/late March. Having said that, I wouldn't have eaten here anyway (to-go is often the way to go, ha!). We're talking about Wild Fig, but not the Roslyn spot I've frequented over the years. Nay! New Hyde Park has its own establishment that fills you full of Mediterranean morsels. Yeah that's right. This trip I mentioned took place in March, but honestly it would have been difficult to get a more recent review of Wild Fig NHP as they shuttered their doors during the course of a large chunk of this pandemic. As we begin to slowly reopen things, this NHP spot has luckily unbolted the lock and is now readily available for some food pick up. Actually, you can make things super easy and use their app. I wanted to do this the day we had ordered from WFNHP, but the female parental unit liked to walk in and choose her toppings and such. We took a quick drive over to the Lake Success Shopping Center where Wild Fig is located and strolled in to find a somewhat spacious interior with plenty of seating...for when we can actually sit again. The two employees behind the counter were pretty friendly and had already begun to don the masks we have come to accept, which, at the time, it irked me, but thinking back I'm glad they wore them. From there, everything about the food was the same as the other Wild Fig spots with salad and rice bowls, oven pides (like a Mediterranean pizza), and a few other edible selections. For me, it's almost always the salad bowl with chicken meatballs. I loaded the thing up with spicy feta, tomato and cucumber salad, hot banana peppers, and green olive salad (you get four toppings so why not?). A little yogurt sauce on the side (tzatziki!) along with pita bread and it became quite the hearty and healthy meal, at a nice price too. Overall, Wild Fig NHP is another choice Fig spot for some quick Mediterranean grub. The food quality is solid and gives you something slightly different than a gyro shop or Chipotle/Moe's which runs a similar setup. Now that they've reopened, consider this here fella looking to take advantage of that fact sooner than later. So with that, we can now go back to the future (yes, I see what I did there). read more

Wild fig is super delicious and always super reliable for quality ingredients. I go very frequently for lunch and it never lets me down. It is basically like the Mediterranean version of chipotle. You start your bowl by choosing salad or grains, or both. For grains you can choose jasmine rice or bulgur wheat. I love the bulgur since it's whole grain and has a yummy nutty flavor. Then you can choose a protein: grilled chicken, chicken meatballs, beef meatballs, or baked falafel. I always get the grilled chicken. For the fix ins there's lots to choose from but I usually get the tomato cucumber salad, feta (or the spicy feta when I want an extra kick) shredded cabbage and hummus of course. I get the balsamic dressing on my salad and cover the whole thing in white sauce. Amazingly delicious and healthy. This will always be a staple for me. read more

The concept is good, with lots of flexibility in what you get, many healthy options (lots of veggies and spreads), and huge portions, however the service is hit-or-miss. This weekend I went with a friend and we both ordered the same exact thing but I got charged more. I questioned it, but I think the cashier realized she under-charged my friend so I let it go. Later, my friend said the cashier was also very confused when helping her put her bowl together. Regardless, the pricing is a bit on the higher side (you'll be paying $16-17 if you get a drink), but at least you get a ton of food. The indoor seating area is spacious and there was even minimal outdoor seating that we used back when Covid was bad. My favorite part of the whole meal is the bread! So warm and savory. And my second favorite part is the to-go box since I always have leftovers. read more

The food is hella fresh and HEALTHY! They got tons of sides and sauce options. You can pick up to 4 and 2 sauces (which I forgot to take advantage of) you can get a mix of rice or salads with different proteins. Each main entree comes with a shockingly delicious flat bread. Very large portion size as well, so large we question their sustainability of business model. You would feel so full and satisfied afterwards but not disgusted. Plus, it's gentle on your stomach/bottom unlike chipotle or Taco Bell. Glad this place didn't close due to covid. It's refreshing to see an affordable, delicious, and healthy food option (average costs less than 15$) The place is new and looks spotless (at least when I went).
