Buffalo wings

Halal Munchies serve the usual chicken/lamb over rice and gyros as well as burgers and fried chicken. I had a lamb gyro, which was huge and good. You definitely need to eat it with a fork instead of holding it. I also had the fried chicken wings with buffalo sauce. I should have chosen a different sauce since the buffalo sauce is spicy and pungent, definitely not for me.

Great customer service and great food. I love that everything taste fresh and they are generous with the food. You have to try their falafel and their ice cream bars.

New but not new halal spot, they just changed their name to Halal Munchies (partnered up ‍). Regardless, decent spot for your halal fix and they serve sandwiches. 9$ for a chopped cheese if you want a classic chopped cheese with lettuce and tomato, ya gotta ask for it! (Again ‍)

Love this point on Uber Eats. Chicken over rice is delicious. Get pita and some hummus as well. Literally a bang for your buck.

Today I order lamb gyro and chicken gyro with fries. It's a regular taste from the carts. Might not go back there .

The hillside cart was the only cart I would ever get chicken over rice and have even catered food from here to my job because I believed it's worth it , but sadly we will no longer will we be going here. && with the interaction experienced today, it was evident the staff doesn't mind loosing a few customers . Customer service is horrible. Food tastes good, the price and portions are still good.

My go-to order is the chicken over rice, which is always fresh, seasoned perfectly, and super filling. I've also had the combo rice platter, which is just as delicious. Each dish comes with a drink, which is a nice bonus. You can't go wrong with the white sauce, and if you're in the mood for some heat, the hot sauce adds a flavorful kick without overpowering the dish. I also recommend trying it with white sauce and BBQ sauce for a sweet and tangy twist. It's a takeout-only, cash-only spot with no seating, but the food is more than worth it. Parking is available either on the street or in the nearby strip mall lot, so it's pretty convenient. Service is pretty quick, but being the only good halal spot around the area, the line can back up since there is only 1 person usually in the cart. If you're in the area, this place is a no-brainer. Fast, tasty, and always hits the spot.

We ordered a pretty…read morewide spread: grilled salmon, hummus with fresh bread, chicken Adana kebab, grilled octopus salad, grilled eggplant, and grilled wild trout. Every single dish was outstanding--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It was so good that we ended up doubling down and ordering another round of hummus plus two orders of chicken chop kebab to take home for dinner. That alone says everything. Each entrée came with rice and a side salad, which rounded things out perfectly. You can tell there's real attention to quality here--the chef clearly knows what they're doing, and we were told they only use premium-grade ingredients, never select. All the baking is done in-house, which shows in the freshness of the bread. What really stands out is how the food manages to be both incredibly delicious and genuinely healthy. Lots of olive oil, grilled preparations, minimal saturated fat, and great sources of omega-3s like the salmon--it's the kind of place you can eat at regularly without feeling like you're overindulging. The staff were just as impressive--attentive without being overbearing, checking in often and making sure everything was right. Honestly, if eating like this all the time is an option, it feels like a solid strategy for living long and well.

We had sigara borek and hummus as appetizers, and the hummus in particular was so fresh and flavorful - definitely the best hummus I have ever had. We ordered a couple of entrees and unfortunately the wrong food came out. We didn't initially realize and thought they had put out two meals on the platter (and they were just small portions) and included some extras as well, until our waiter came over a few minutes later and apologized. Unfortunately, because we received the mixed grill instead of our two chicken entrees, the solution of charging us the price for the mixed instead of our two meals only took roughly $10 off the bill but resulted in us having less than half of the food we otherwise would've had. That aside, the food was delicious enough that Kebab House still warrants five stars and we will be back, just more aware of what to expect as far as portions.

Sahara Halal Cart - Chicken and lamb over salad.

Brother... you want that good street meat? Get your mind out…read moreof the gutter..get with this halal street cart. Now, listen, hillside avenue has long been adorned with a plethora of halal and the like, even this intersection has three or four spots alone; that being said, for years I've been coming only to Sahara halal cart by the subway... with good reason. This guy is surely the best of the three on this intersection if not all of hillside, damn straight. Tonight was the first time in 10 years since I've been going that I checked yelp, sure enough, here is my review. This cart has always been the best and with his track record I'm sure he will reign supreme for years to come. Approach this cart with an appetite! No matter what time you're hungry (tonight I got there a little after midnight) When I walked up, he of course had a couple fellas ordering food at the same time I was there. $5... that's right, $5-$7 will get you a full and delicious container of halal, be it chicken over rice, lamb gyro, or a combo; all of it comes with white sauce hot sauce and salad. Throw him a tip for sure, it's bangin' food at an awesome price. My normal order here is either chicken over rice with extra white sauce and a touch of hot sauce with pita slices (hold the salad) or I get the combo of gyro lamb and chicken over rice (still no damn salad). I always get a lot of white sauce as it's pretty much the best thing ever! I never get pepper and onion like some cats cuz... well... why ruin a good thing? I like pepper and onion, it's wonderful, but not on this, I like it as pure as possible; It's like cocaine, and just as addicting. You don't even need the hot sauce as it can take away from how amazing this thing taste (an I'm normally a hot sauce fiend!) I clearly love this cart and hit it any and every time I visit my friend or just happen to be in the area. You will too, believe me. A quick three cart comparison at this location will tell you all you need to know, the guy directly across hillside ave is okay, but way too spicy (I like spicy, but this just isn't the time for this kind of heat.) The guy diagonally across Hillside and Littleneck is the second best of the intersection and quite tasty as well, but nobody, and I mean nobody, is as good as my boy here at Sahara! I feel bad for anyone walking into subway for not experiencing this guys food cart, or hell even subway since this cart is far superior with their four options. I'd really like to try the kofta but I can't resist my long time favorite. I'm almost glad I live nowhere near hear or I'd get this way too often, it's gosh darn incredible, and superior to those famous halal brothers in manhattan. Please do yourself a favor and stop at this guys cart. Call me up, maybe I'll drive the 40-50 minutes just to grab a piece of heaven and chill.

So I usually hit up the Hamza & Madina cart located diagonally across Hillside/Little Neck (parked…read moreright in front of the CVS) but thought to give the Sahara cart a try after a few years. I have to say I was pleased with the decision! My usual order at a halal cart is the combo (chicken & lamb) over rice so I opted to stick with that. I was asked if I wanted onion chopped & mixed in so I opted to do that. Good choice, I must say. It added a nice punch of flavor but without being overpowering. I think I prefer the rice and the lamb here over what the other local carts offer. The rice was nice and moist, but without being too greasy, and the lamb was flavorful without being overly salty, as is often the case at the Hamza cart. Overall, I found the platter to be well portioned, high in quality, and satisfying but without making me feel gross afterwards. I've got to say that I will be coming back here again soon and I may even elevate them above the Hamza cart if both carts maintain their recent levels of quality.

I finally got the chance to go since I happened to be in the neighborhood for another event. They have some basic Persian dishes on their menu but I found the menu a little limited. But still, enough for us to get excited about. We samples the below items but in the end, I thought the food was average. Not bad at all; just average. Here are the menu items we shared (by 5 people): #3 Kashk Bademjan (eggplant) $8: great dish; well prepared! #11 Patoug Special Salad (small/$9): there was absolutely nothing special about this boring salad. It was just lettuce, tomato & cucumber, and nothing else. The veggies were fresh though. Definitely use the white and green sauces on the table! #13 Tah Dig (crispy rice) $11: this was a small portion size but terrific! #15 Torshi (pickled veg) $8: basic; comes in a small bowl. #22 Kebob Kobiden (2 ground beef kebobs; comes w.rice) $20: you have the option of white or brown rice. We had brown rice, which was very good. The ground beef kebobs were pretty good! Don't forget the white sauce! #34 Gheimen (Mutton Stew; comes w.rice) $20: small portion served in a small bowl. Tasty stew. Comes with a plate of white rice. -- Complimentary bread: served warm and was fantastic! Customer service was friendly and nice enough but we felt a little rushed at the end, even though the dining room was half empty. "Suggested tips": on the bottom of your check, there are "suggested tip" $ amounts. Do your own math to figure out how much tip you want to leave!! Warning: their "suggested tip" is based on the after tax and after credit card fee prices. (See my photos). This is wrong!! Tips should always be based on your total BEFORE tax and BEFORE cc fees!! (Why would you pay a tip on the tax and cc fees you pay? That's ridiculous!). Parking; plenty of metered parking as well as free residential street parking available. Note to management: Please do not keep the dirty dishes bin in your dining room!! Besides it being unsanitary, the smell of garbage penetrated the air in the entire dining room. Yuke!
