    Chicken Kabob rice
    X P.

Food just tastes like cheap burnt gas and to make things worse I didn't realize they rose the prices by like 30% from last time I came here. Almost 30 dollars for a plate of chicken and rice with a side of nasty service. No thank you, there are so many other better spots that sell chicken rice in Queens for a way better price and friendly.

Simply put, this place is awesome! I was looking for a Mediterranean place in queens for dinner and I stumbled upon this Armenian restaurant and catering business. When you walk into Sevan you feel like you are entering an upscale home. The menu is filled with authentic Armenian cuisine that tastes as good as it sounds. My friend and I started with the Lahmajun which is like a small pizza/pita pocket filled with ground meat. It was a delicious pita pocket and at a price point of $4 well worth the investment. For our mains my friend got the manti (small dumplings filled with ground meat served with a tomato sauce and yogurt sauce) and i boy the chicken kebab. The manti was so fresh and the chicken was very juicy and flavorful! The waiter even through in a glass of Armenian wine with our meal and honestly it was so good next time I will be sure to start my meal with it! All in all, lots of good, fresh, authentic Armenian food at a reasonable price point. Will return soon.

Thank you for all the delicious food! Authentic Armenian food. Please support your local businesses. Happy new year!

We found this place through Yelp after looking for months on end for a nice venue for our engagement party. We read through some reviews and decided we'd give it a shot. We came here back in April to try the food and make sure the food tasted good before making any final decisions. Little did we know, the food was exquisite. The beef was out of this world ( as was everything else). For our engagement party, everything went as planned. We came to set up the venue and it was perfect! It's such a nice elegant place in the heart of Queens. However, the day before we came and dropped off some champagne to find out that the next day in the morning they were still sitting in the boxes- no in the fridge to be chilled. This is not your typical restaurant. The style of food is very different. Nonetheless, the food was truly amazing. The rice was buttery soft, the beef was so delicious we had so many people asking where they can get more. However, when we came back in April we were told we would get the beef, chicken, rice and veggies. On the day of our party, we didn't receive any veggies. Perhaps this was a miscommunication on their end about bringing veggies. We had 2 individuals who were vegan, gluten free etc therefore they were the only people with the veggies. Just seemed a little strange to forget about veggies. For the cake, we were able to bring it in the morning of and they put it in the fridge. When time came to serve the cake and make a toast, we were informed that the cake was a little "smooshed". When I picked the cake up from Martha's it was perfect. Perhaps they put something on top of the cake ? It kind of annoyed me considering I paid over $100 for the cake. The only thing that came off of the cake was my fiancés name. I thought of a solution on the spot and asked them to cover it with some candles. They did so and it was alright. It didn't bother me that much but again, seemed strange. The food that we didn't end up eating was put in a box and given to us to take home. It was a good, affordable spot to bring people to spend time with. Some things I noticed : - the boss is not very kind, respectively. I know he's about business but sometimes you should hear our the customer who is paying for the services and venue, instead of talking over them. - the manager (who is the boss' son was much nicer and more understanding, he was willing to sit with us and go through everything with us, he was probably better in communication than the boss) Overall, this was a wonderful place to have our engagement. The waiters get 10/10 for their patience and running back and forth all night. They were so kind and great with communication. We would probably come back here again for future parties and celebrations. It was a great night !

For many years - I mean many as in when I was a kid living in Ridgefield, we always had a bag of lahmajoun from Middle East Lahmajoun in Fairview in the fridge. But I thought that place had closed down because frankly it looks like it's not in business and every time I go it's closed. And every time I call it appeared to be closed. But a few weeks ago when we had a late lunch at the Greek restaurant across the street I asked and someone said oh no they still make them there but they're not open very often . So I put it on my mental to do list to follow up on that. But unless "Siri remind(s) me at 10 AM tomorrow" about them, items on my mental to-do list evaporate. Any hoo, then the other day I experienced an absolutely horrendous lahmajoun at a Turkish restaurant which jogged my memory to look. Well today the meat craving made me do it. I was driving by and said hmmm let me Google. Well it is only open until 2 pm. I called because it was 2 and he answered and said yeah I'll be here for about another 20 minutes! And I said OK cause I'm sitting outside (geez now he probably thinks I'm a stalker). So I got a bag of a dozen ($20). And lemme tell you.... it's as great as I remember!!! I just ate one, and I'm on cloud nine. Don't tell me btw it's burnt; I know it is. Don't judge. I like it that way.... Go patronize this place. I want it to be in business another 100 years.... or at least as long as I live and have teeth to eat it.

My first foray into Albanian food and was so surprised by how different it was from Greek food. It was amazing, but perhaps not my favorite cuisine though I am eager to come back and try more. Both very good and unique, would recommend the Tavi over the octopus. Can't wait to come back and try their dumplings, more Tava, branzino, other grilled meats and their baklava!

Qofte (6/5) - iabsolutely fantastic. Meat, vegetables, and potatoes were paired so well together. White sauce was delicious! 3. Grilled Octopus (4/5) - this was OK. Perhaps octopus was overcooked? grilled vegetables were simple, but yummy and delicious. 4. Kajmak (4/5) - I was expecting its texture to be more firm like greet yogurt, but it was a bit watery. My takes on each dish: 1) cheburechnaya salad - light but flavorful, good to pick on with your meal. I like the avocado on top. Small portion is good enough for 2. 2) thin cut fries - like shoestring, really unique. Half portion is good enough for 2. 3) mushroom cheburechki - crispy but juicy, delicious with sauce. Definitely try this! 4) veal liver kebab: good when hot but I think one or two bite is enough because liver taste is strong.. if you like liver definitely get it, otherwise can skip. 5) lamb kebab: good, juicy. Definitely eat while hot, can be tough while cooler. A nice basic taste, nothing too weird. 6) sweetbread kebab: not my favorite it tastes a bit too fatty without justifying the fat. 7) lulya kebab: one of my favorites. It's a ground meat kebab and it's very juicy. Definitely get it! 8) beef skirt kebab: maybe my favorite one. It tastes like a juicy steak bite. 9) no fat lamb ribs: second favorite. The seasoning is good. A bit gamier than the basic lamb kebab. Overall we enjoyed the meal and will be back to try some other items! The only gripe is that the meat is a bit rare and I would not like to eat organ meat with some blood in it. My stomach was not used to it even the next day. Not sick but not feeling my normal self. I suggest them cook the organ meats more well-done next time for food safety.
