OMG! What a delicious marvelous BURGER!!!!!!!!!!!! Fast and friendly service. This place isn't fancy but it is what a burger should be! We came all the way from Hicksville North o try it and it was well worth the drive! DELICIOUS! read more

It was late and we did not want to cook. So we ordered a couple of burgers. The burgers were good but not exceptional. A good place for a quick bite. read more

Hamburgers were greasy, undercooked . When requested to be well done, came back charred, tasteless and greasy. Service at the counter ok. Ambiance nothing special to note. The view of the side street while sitting at the table was much more pleasant than anything inside. read more

We were in the area and I was looking for something to pick up on Valentines day as we headed home from shopping. This place had been saved on my yelp so I thought yay perfect for lunch. Burger was delicious! Food was reasonably priced and we just picked up but it looked nice inside. Service was great and quick. This beat our Valentines day dinner later on that night (pizza) it was just so good. Highly recommend. read more

Best burgers in this area for casual dining and carryout. Good fries, solid ingredients. They have lots of chicken sandwiches and salads also, never had anything but a burger. This Glen Head find is well worth checking out. read more

Great burger! A little underseasoned but the beef was super juicy and definitely not previously frozen. Toppings were crisp and potato bun pillow soft and fluffy. The fries were a little over fried for my preference but some folks dig that. Had no idea this place existed until today but glad for it and will be sure to stop by again in the near future. read more

Ordered the Fatboy, fries, rings, and a soda. $40 later it was a greasy, over fried mess that I received. The hamburger meat itself was good quality, it was just drowned in some tasteless watery sauce that was unnecessary. Onion rings seemed like they'd been fried multiple times, they were breaking apart. Sweet potato fries were also sloppy and greasy. I feel bad about myself after eating only half of this mess. 5 Guys may be a chain but it'd be half the price and edible. read more

Discovered this place by accident, probably the most **amazing burger** I've had in a while. Can't wait to go back.....

Great place when you're craving a burger. Very juicy and beefy. Some of the workers seem like just high school kids so I wouldn't expect too much in terms of customer service like some of the other reviews lol. read more

Pretty unique burger combinations. I ordered the Triumph burger which had cimini mushrooms, blue cheese, truffle mayo. The burger, suprisingly had a pink tinge in the middle. It was good but Next time I'd get something w/o the bleu cheese and truffle mayo. Burger was a bit greasy tho. Fries were satisfactory. Cool vibe w spacial distancing for these COVID times. read more

My son had a cheeseburger, I had the spicy chicken Sammich and we split the fries. The burger was perfect, the spicy chicken was awesome and the fries were potato slices of awesome. Wanted seltzer as my drink and I had a choice of 6-7 flavors! Seltzer heaven y'all! The light was out in the bathroom, so I had to pee in the dark, but all I heard was water hitting water, so my aim was perfect! read more

The best burger I've ever had. This place couldn't be any better. The service is extremely quick, never felt like I was waiting. There are always open tables. The burgers are juicy and the fries are perfectly crisp and flavorful. Anyone who thinks this place is bad is insane. read more

Easy place to call in an order and go pick it up. Staff is helpful and food is very good. Great local spot.

We've ordered here several times. Food is usually ok, but seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Last night it was inedible, and I ended up throwing most of it away. Chicken was overcooked and dry, milkshakes were basically just blended milk with maybe a tablespoon of the ice cream. Maybe they changed who is running the place or the cooks? All I know is I had a bad stomach ache after the little bit of it I did eat. Won't be ordering from there again. read more

Choppers Burger Bar in Glen Head. The beef, chicken, and catfish burgers can be served in generous lettuce wraps filled with pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and anything else that you like. The staff is courteous and the food is consistently made well! The salads are also quite good, along with their fries. Never once, has this place made an error in my take-out order. Thank you Choppers for a tasty/healthy meal on this rainy night. read more

The staff was friendly, place was clean. We ordered the original chopper with cheese, with the sauce on the side. The burger was juicy, nice proportions for the tomato, lettuce, onion, cheese and potato bun. The raw onions on the burger were too thin so when you bite into the slices the stringy peel comes off making it difficult to bite through. Their chopper sauce was pretty good. We made it a meal by adding the fries and a drink but the fries were cold, a little stale I dont know if they were sitting out for long, otherwise they were fine. I would definitely try them again the burgers were delicious. read more

Ok nicely sums up Choppers. It's not fine dining but it's not fast food either. Order at the counter and grab a table to eat your burger. Food was ok, was ok, hence my ok review. Lots of other burger places to try before I come back again. read more

Stopped here by chance. It was a real pleasant surprise. A very simple setting;; basic tables but adequately spaced. A big smile behind the counter took the order and delivered the food to the table. Fast food by all accounts except the taste where "perfect' is applicable. read more

What can I say, the food is delectable and the service is pleasant and speedy. Definitely not your average "burger joint". The meat is top quality and doesn't leave you feeling greasy after. And the fries are out of this world! They just added onion rings that left me wanting more. The atmosphere is perfect for lunch with a friend or a family dinner. 10/10 would recommend. read more

COVID update: Super professional, hard working staff making delicious, flavorful, (mostly) healthy comfort food. Have done pickup here a few times, and they are great about pay-ahead, and wearing PPE in the restaurant to prepare, pack, and give you your food. We usually park in the back lot and they bring it out to the door. Thank you guys for taking safety precautions for the healthy of your employees and customers! Highly recommend. read more

I visited yesterday (Saturday) for the first time and I'm not gonna lie ... the Choppers Fat Boy was really delicious! Menu says it has two Angus beef patties, cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, cheese sauce, BBQ onions, Applewood smoked bacon, and chopper sauce. I skipped the potato bun and opted for a "lettuce bun." Perhaps the lettuce bun was an additional 50 cents from the menu price of $12.99. The regular size fries ($3.25) were very tasty! Choppers Burger Bar occupies the former Jack's Shack owned by Willie Degel (opened in 2011), host of Food Network's "Restaurant Stakeout." Jack's Shack was supposed to be a prototype for a future franchise. Seems that never got off the ground. Choppers Burger Bar is owned by two restaurateurs Kent Monkan (owner of Brass Rail in Locust Valley and Heirloom Tavern in Glen Head and, and The Wild Goose in the Port Washington) and Nick Litterello (head of catering at the Sea Cliff Yacht Club). I do however suggest that they make a point to clear/clean the tables and put away the serving trays that had collected on top of the garbage can. The counter girl seemed to have time to check messages or surf the net on her phone but not find time to make the new restaurant appeal to its customers. read more

So happy to have another place as a lunch option while at work! Ordered take out with 4 other people (one even being a vegan) and every meal was incredible. I had the Chief Burger and my friend had the Chopper Classic with fries so it was considered a meal. We also had loaded fries on one of the meals. The total was $38.00 ... so not worth it. The burgers were well done ( no one asked us how we wanted the meat) the burgers were small and not that tasty. The fries are delicious. However we wont be back .. not worth it for the price..!!! read more

Went here while my car was being serviced down the street. Staff was very polite and helpful, which is very important. The Sweet Potato fries are the best I've ever had. And I LOVE fries and have had many other good fries. But these were perfect/ top of the line. Perfect seasoning. I also got the "Fat Boy" burger but with no Bacon. It was juicy and cheesy. Tasty. Would go there again if I'm in the area or getting my car serviced in the future. read more

I ordered a choppers original and made it a meal with fries and a drink. This has to be one of the best burgers I've ever had at a joint like this. The burger was cooked perfectly and had all the right veggies and sauce to compliment it. The fries were also really good. I opted to take some truffle mayo as a sauce for them instead of ketchup which was a really good decision. Overall, this place is really great, clean, and pretty affordable. I will definitely be back. read more

My husband and I went last night and I got the Clucker and he got the Original burger. He said the burger was good, a burger is a burger lol He's a plain Jane so burger had nothing on it but cheese and ketchup. He gobbled it up so enjoyed it-nuff said! I got the Clucker (see pic) and it was was the best, juiciest, crispy white meat fried chicken sandwich I've had in a long time!!! Helps to note I am extremely picky when it comes to restaurant chicken. Smiling workers behind the counter and a clean restaurant, made for a nice vibe. Fun decor too. So glad they're in our neighborhood. Best of luck to them! :-) Looking forward to getting a burger next time. read more

Gotta love these burgers! Quick service. Thick shakes. The Fat Boy is the best burger ever. They hit the spot every time.

I live local and have had this new spot on my radar, and tonight was the night I decided to go. Great all around place. Perfect combination of style, food quality/execution, price point, and staff/service. They had a special burger tonight on their menu and I decided to try it. Cooked as requested, medium rare. Charred on the outside and heavenly on the inside. A perfect balance of not too lean and not too greasy. Accompaniments were great. An outstanding burger for the price...$7.99. I would recommend it and I know it will just get EVEN better when everyone gets more comfortable in this new space. Nick nooks Organic read more

So my experience begins when my coworker brings in the choppers Burger Bar menu, I said okay let me try to order food looked great...its the Wednesday before Christmas. So I try door dash okay you can't order through door dash only Uber eats okay so logged into Uber.I look up choppers again and they're closed so I'm like damn let me try calling and the person I spoke to was the reason I'm writing this review. When I say he lacked empathy in his voice you'd think this man had no soul over the phone. So he checks the Uber app on his phone and it is closed but it was what he said next that really got me. I asked if theirs anyway to fix this he said and I quote "I don't know what to tell you, The owner has us closed on Wednesday" well tell me something like try again tomorrow or we'll fix this ASAP something not just a dry ass robotic voice "I don't know what to tell you" that pissed me off, Like if this guy sounds like he hates his job why would I want to spend my hard earned money to eat this food but anyway I ended up starving to death. read more

I placed a takeout order tonight for two salads, two fries and a double. Went to pick it up, and was handed a single bag from one of the employees. I even left them a nice tip. I get home only to find out half of my order is missing from the bag. No fries and no burger. I called them up and they refused to take ownership of the mistake instead insisting it was my fault despite only being handed one bag. Having good food only gets you so far. If your service sucks people don't come back...too bad cause I actually liked this place :( read more

I've ordered from this place over Uber eats twice. The Food is super flavorful and They get it made very quickly which is super convenient. They cook their patties to a medium temperature unless you specify otherwise which is something to keep in mind if you have other preferences like myself but the second time I ordered I requested they cook my patties to well done and my burger was absolutely perfect!!! Anyone looking for a tasty and filling quick bite to eat should definitely Try choppers out. I wish I had taken pictures but both times I ordered I couldn't stop myself from chowing down the minute the food hit my table. Everything looks smells and tastes delicious!!!! I definitely suggest the loaded baked potato fries read more

Choppers is one of my favorite local businesses to support. Not only because it is located right in the heart of our community, but also because the food is SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS! My family and I try to eat as clean as possible, and I am so thankful to Choppers for giving us a local restaurant who helps support our clean eating (by using only the freshest ingredients). Love it and will continue to be a loyal customer for years to come! read more

Surprised to see the mixed reviews. We had a fairly large order with roughly 7 meals and everything was done great as ordered. Burgers and chicken sandwiches were all delicious as were the fries with various toppings (loaded and nacho). Staff were extremely friendly and professional. We'll be back for sure. I wish them success and really think folks need to give a new spot a chance and some time to settle in before they start tossing around any negativity on various platforms. Keep up the quality work, and glad to have a nice spot for burgers in the neighborhood. read more

Choppers burger is a new burger place right in the heart of glen head. Unfortunately with another burger place being nearby (sid's), Choppers already has something to live up to and they aren't quite there yet. I ordered the Choppers Triumph. Overall an ok burger. The toppings on top made it flavorful, but the burger patty itself is very tasteless. And the burger started to crumble midway through eating so you have to eat the rest with a fork (also happened to my boyfriends burger). They charge you for extra toppings, on top of an already overpriced burger. They also offer salads which are $12+, and THEN an addition $6 to add a protein, insane. The shakes are $7.59 (with tax) and they have yet to get the recipe down for their shakes. I got the cookies and cream one and it didn't even taste like a milkshake. It was so watery and milky. Their saving grace are there fries which were really yummy. A good in between of crispy and potatoey. I gave them three stars because these things can easily be improved and hopefully they do improve them so they can do well in this area. I don't plan on coming back any time soon though, I'll stick to Sid's and maybe come back in a few months to see if they fixed any of these things. read more

So I saw this near my workplace, and to be honest, I wasted $15 for make it your own double cheeseburger and regular fries. The fries are good but the burger was not that great. When you go to a burger restaurant, you expected to be nice and juicy burger. I didn't get that at all. The burger was too greasy. My burger came all out. Wasn't even a burger. It was a mess. I'm hoping they can improve their burgers. Gordan Ramsay would not approve the burger. read more
