The food was spot on and went down easy. The only complaint I have is the portion size of their gyro sandwiches could be a tad bigger. DO NOT GET FOOD HERE! I even gave them the opportunity to make it right before posting this review... I rarely ever write reviews, but was drawn to upon walking in. The place STINKS of MOLD! I spent $30 on a beef lamb gyro platter, a 12 oz chicken soup, and a small greek salad. The gyro meat was diced up and BURNT! The salad was a bunch of iceberg lettuce with a few pieces of cabbage in it and barely any feta cheese, no tomato's, no onions, and the dressing tasted like pure olive oil. It was supposed to come with rice pilaf and instead it came with WHITE RICE drenched in olive oil with peas in it!! I They also gave me a pita that was hard as a rock and inedible... I threw out my food after 3 bites, and as I write this stomach is killing me after just eating a tiny bit of it. I was immediately going to write a review but decided I'd give the place an opportunity to make it right so I called them and told them what happened. Their response was we don't burn our gyro meat and we don't put any tomatoes or onions in the greek salad!!!! I asked them to refund my money, and their response was if I bring the food back they will make me a new one but won't refund it. I live 20 minutes away, and was not about to spend another hour of my life coming back there to get a new one. I again asked them kindly to do the right thing and refund my money, they refused and said I don't have to come there any more!!! No worries I'll never be back. So scary that places can operate like this. I asked him where the owner was. and he told me he doesn't live there he lives in another country... I guess that's why it's so bad. read more

Love this place so much it's worth the 40 minute drive for us! The quality is always consistent and incredibly delicious. Hands down our favorite go to for kebab and gyro sandwiches. A small gem in the middle of town. What appears to be a take out joint is in reality an excellent Turkish restaurant owned and run by one family. They're very proud of their food preparation and rightfully so. The menu has all the classics with their own twists. The saganaki, which is usually made with one of a few semi-hard Greek cheeses, is made perfectly with a mozzarella cheese. Very different and delicious. The falafel was also differently shaped. The falafel was served as perfectly fried rectangles giving lots of surface space for their tahini sauce. The iskender, my personal favorite, served in a big dish with loads of doner(gyro meat) on top of the perfect proportion of yogurt and tomato sauce. The rice and green peas on the side were ok. To finish off a wonderful meal was the homemade baklava. There's not a lot of tables inside to dine and they have a large takeout menu also. A wonderful place to enjoy authentic Turkish food that's very reasonably priced making it a GREAT value for a superbly cooked meal. We will return for more! read more

Our family has been taking out from Shish Kebab Grill for several years, but today was the first time we sat in and ordered from their Fast Lunch since we were in a rush. We were assured by Joey that they could cook up a quick meal for us. We ordered the Grilled Salmon which was tender and delicious, the Grilled Shrimp and Lamb Shish Kebab was both good as well. Five stars for this friendly family who does a great job in making you feel you're joining their family for a home cooked meal. Enjoyed my lunch at this small Roslyn restaurant specializing in Turkish cuisine. Started with warm pita with a yoghurt and tomato dipping sauces on the side. Then came a rich and flavorful lentil soup that, though good, could've benefitted by a bit more spice. The kofte kebob platter with pilaf was really good, nicely spiced and grilled to perfection. Service was friendly if a bit rushed and though lunch was reasonable, dinner prices are a tad steep. Parking is a bit of an issue as well. Very good for lunch and recommended. read more

Let me explain the reason for this 1 star review. Normally I would give it 3 stars. We have been ordering takeout from there since it's opened. The food is good, though inconsistent at times. But overall a nice Souvlaki sandwich and their spicy eggplant is one of the best around. But lately the food has been off...hard & dry pitas, leaving things out of order, lukewarm food, etc. But last night was the final straw. Our order which was for a 1 Souvlaki sandwich, 1 cheeseburger deluxe and the Sigara Boregi appetizer. It took an hour to get to me around the corner, and when the food arrived, it was cold. I mean ice cold. The burger was like a hockey puck, I ordered it medium. and tasted like it was made days ago. The few French fries that were in the container were cold and hard too. And the pita for the souvlaki sandwich was hard around the edges, as though it was reheated several times. They forgot the Tzatziki sauce, and the Sigara was soggy and also cold. So pretty much the entire meal was a bust. I felt I needed to call and let them know we were extremely disappointed, but unfortunately I was met with nothing but an excuse that the driver was new and he had many deliveries....really? He made no attempt to fix this meal, but told me the next time I ordered he would do better. Well there will NOT be another time, and you have lost a customer forever.
