Really delicious Persian food! I never had Persian food before. The place is warm and cozy, the tables are set when you walk in and it looks pretty casual fancy. The service is very attentive. Right when we sat down the host gave us water which was nice. The waiter was a little too attentive, kept coming up to us to ask if we were ready to order when we were not, and just kept coming and coming every two minutes. They give complimentary flat bread which is tasty. Our Persian friend mentioned usually Persian restaurants give the bread with herbs and feta rather than just plain. We did find on the menu the herbs and feta was an extra cost. We had the kebab combo and subbed cherry rice and salad (which is cucumbers and tomatoes) and also exchanged the ground chicken kebab for a chicken breast kebab. The standout was the steak kebab and the cherry rice. There were so many cherries in the rice, and it was both sweet and savory. I couldn't stop eating it. The steak was super juicy and well seasoned. I also really like the roasted tomato on the side, basil and pickled cabbage. We ordered a stew, think it was Ghormeh sabzi. It had a bunch of herbs in it, and beans and a dried lime. Was told not to eat the lime. It was a very strong and rich stew, I took a couple of bites. Don't think I could have eaten the whole thing. It's very strong. It's our friend's favorite Persian dish and she loved it. There was one dish we wanted that they ran out of but they gave us a couple of dollars off the bill which was nice. My friend has been asking me to take her to try Persian food. So I thought it would be fun to take her somewhere that I have never been to myself and we decided to go to paradise, and it was a great choice. I do wish the servers were Persian so I could order in farsi but there was no communication issues so it's fine. We ordered a couple things so we could try a bit of every thing. The kebab platter came with koobideh, barg and chicken with subbed the white rice for cherry rice which turned out to be the star of the show. Even as a Persian, I have never had that rice before.Somehow, and it quickly became delicious.And I immediately text my mom and asked her why she had never made it for me lol We also got ghormeh sabzi which as I told my friends can be hit or miss in flavor and if they would actually like a stew like this. They both actually enjoyed it, and I thought it was pretty close to my mom's recipe. The only sad thing was that we ordered tahdig but the table next to us had ordered 2 large plates and they had no more, which was odd given it was only 1pm and the restaurant opens at 11am. There are five other persian restaurants in Ridgewood but Pardis is consistently THE best among them. We highly recommend their food as it is close to authentic Persian food as you can find in the area. After a few successful dine-in and takeout experiences from Pardis, it had become one of my top dinner selections in Bergen County. So, when my family and I were trying to pick a takeout spot for a recent celebratory meal, I instantly nominated the Mediterranean place. Thankfully, I got everyone to agree, and, though it took a while for us to place our order, the food was waiting for us when we arrived. We started the meal by sharing the Kash-K-Bademjan, an cooked eggplant dip that had been stewed in homemade tomato sauce and topped with a dollop of yogurt. The delicious spread was chunky, hearty, and robust, and it was a great complement to the large amount of thin, flaky pita included. In addition to either rice or grilled vegetables, each entree came with a small side salad with an herbaceous vinaigrette on the side. Receiving the added appetizer was a nice surprise. Our main courses were substantial in their sizes as well. I went with my Pardis usual - the Shrimp Kabob. The shrimp had been grilled in a garlic, lemon marinade, which was nice and tangy, but the shellfish were very overcooked, leaving them dry and chewy. I like my shrimp more on the well-done side, but these were even beyond my liking. I substituted grilled vegetables for the green rice that was originally paired with the dish. The veggies included mushrooms, zucchini, red pepper, broccoli, and a grilled tomato. Those were all perfectly seasoned and cooked, however. Despite my shrimp not being 100% to my liking, the experience was good overall, and I would definitely consider getting food from there again. read more

The lamb shank was perfectly cooked. The sauce was delicious. I would recommend this to my friends who like lamb. The falafels are tasty. The flavor is good. Ghormehsazi was a flavor that I initially liked. However, I think it was a bit advanced for my palate. I would not order this again. I usually love popping flavor, but something about this wasn't for me or my wife. The Mediterranean salad was nice and big. Plenty of feta and everything else I like. The service is always excellent. After being away for a while, I recently visited your Ridgewood location for lunch, as well as another restaurant just across the train tracks. I noticed that your lunch menu prices are now the same as your dinner prices (please see the attached picture). In comparison, the other restaurant offers prices about 25% lower for lunch and even includes a soda. While I recognize and appreciate that your service and venue are superior, for a quick lunch this difference can be significant. Since I truly enjoy your restaurant, I wanted to suggest reconsidering and perhaps reinstating the previous lunch pricing, where it was set lower than dinner. I believe this could help attract more lunchtime guests while still maintaining your excellent reputation. Thank you for considering this feedback, and I look forward to visiting again soon. I always write that I tend not to give five star reviews the first time I go to a new restaurant, but I'm making an exception with Pardis! Three of us went; we started off sharing the Mediterranean salad, which we're glad we shared because it's HUGE. And it was excellent. My two friends each got seafood (I'm allergic, so couldn't partake) -- one got the shrimp kabob, and the other the salmon kabob. Both loved what they ordered. I got the chicken koobideh -- holy! It was beyond delicious -- also very large and filling. I was able to eat one of the kabobs and took the other home with the rest of the rice. (The rice was also SO GOOD). We didn't have room for dessert -- so we ordered something anyway. :) A delicious tartufo that was a perfect shareable sweet at the end of a savory meal. The servers were awesome -- very personable and funny, and made great recommendations for us. Also, even on a weeknight we made a reservation; when we arrived, we were among the first and wondered why we made reservation. By the time we left, the place was packed -- and with good reason! The most standout items on the menu were the albaloo polo - basmati rice mixed with sweet and sour cherries - and the saffron ice cream (the best I've had to date) for dessert. I came with a large group for lunch and had the lamb chops as my main meal - which were so tender and fell off the bone - and they came with basmati rice and grilled vegetables that were wonderfully cooked and not too salty, which is what I find a lot of restaurants get wrong! Great sauces served with SO much complimentary bread (the bread was okay- could have been tastier). Ash Reshteh - haven't had this soup since my favorite place in the city closed years ago. It was just as delicious! Delicious tomato cucumber salad - I wasn't sure of this as the tomatoes looked pink, not red since it's February but wow- the dressing- just delicious and not too oily. A very pretty restaurant, totally different and upscale from other Mediterranean places I have been to. We went for a Friday lunch, and got seats right away, as the whole restaurant was empty. We were greeted with complimentary bread and chutney. Their menu is pretty short and simple, mostly kebobs, seafood and stews for entrees. We ordered the Sambuseh (dumplings), Pardis kebobs, and Sultani kebobs. The appetizers dumplings were fluffy and filled with delicious vegetable mix. Pardis combo came with chicken and Barg (Angus beef) skewers. Sultani was combo of Barg and Koobideh (ground beef). The chicken was decent, but Barg was better. koobideh was the best out of all of them. It was soft and juicy. Barg was little bit more on chewy side. All dishes came with Basmati rice, cabbage and tomatoes. Special mention to rice, I rarely find such fine grain excellent quality rice in restaurants. I also ordered the Baklava to go. It tasted amazing when I tried at home. Throughout out dine-in, the servers checked on us. They were very friendly and helpful. This is certainly one of fav in Ridgewood now. I returned to Pardis Restaurant for their Kabobs after enjoying Ghormeh Sabzi the previous night. Starter Appetizers As always, the two default sauces--one with walnut and the other with yogurt and dill--alongside the bread were already served on the table. Koobideh kabob; fantastic meat As I mentioned in my previous review, this time, I tried the beef koobideh kabob. The kabob looked fresh and appetizing, and the meat was perfectly well-cooked , which is exactly how I prefer my koobideh kabob. A small note about the koobideh kabob though--the meat is great, but it could benefit from being a bit fattier, which is essential for koobideh. Rice; Sleek and Fluffy The rice this time was also well-cooked, and surprisingly, its quality was even better than the previous night when I tried it with Ghormeh Sabzi. Each grain of rice was perfectly long, slender, and fluffy . I followed my usual ritual of putting butter under the mound of rice--it always elevates the dish wonderfully. Ambiance; delicately designed Once again, I visited at an off-peak hour [‍]--around 3 PM--and was likely the first client of the evening session. Despite being the only guest, the ambiance was still incredible. The fantastic interior with its well-thought-out combination of wall colors, light fixtures, beautiful wall paintings, and the textured embossed wall (a wonderful touch) created a vibrant yet calm atmosphere, especially as the evening light filtered in closer to 5 PM. Chatting with the Owner, Mr. Kaveh I also had the privilege of meeting the owner, Kaveh. He shared his passion for working in the restaurant industry and the ups and downs he has experienced over the past eight years. His insight, along with the professionalism of the staff, added a personal and memorable touch to my visit. To my surprise, I was treated to a complimentary baklava, which was fantastic, by the way! The sweetness and texture were just perfect, rounding off my meal beautifully. The service was quick and attentive. We shared the sambusas (crispy and delicious) and the kash-k-bademjan (eggplant) as appetizers. Holy cow...that eggplant was the BEST thing I've ever put in my mouth! It was smooth and garlicky, served hot with bread. I couldn't stop eating it even though I wanted to save room for the main course. For dinner we shared the jujeh kabob (grilled Cornish hen in lemon saffron marinade) and the beef koobideh kabob (grilled ground beef), with the zereshk polo rice (saffron, barberries). The Cornish hen was SPECTACULAR! The beef was so smoky, well seasoned, and delicious. The barberry rice was a party in my mouth, I had to do my happy dance! We ate and ate and there were still plenty of leftovers for today, I CAN'T Wait for lunch! For dessert we had the tiramisu (decent) and the saffron ice cream. Lunch was sumptuous though. Lots of food. Initially we didn't get the starter bread , but once we started our main course they brought it. We had chicken Kebob. Loved it . Tasted really good. 7/2022. We came to Pardis on E. Ridgewood Ave for dinner. There is another Persian restaurant of a similar name around the corner. I'll give the overall experience a B. The food was good quality. The service was good, but I think management needs to better train them on when to interrupt. If you see the patrons are engaged in conversation & not on their phones and not looking pissed off; why are you interrupting? If we needed you, we'd flag you down. Annoyance never equals a great tip. The menu has room for improvement. I would like to see more sampler platters which are common with ethnic restaurants.
